Has anybody else noticed allot of folks smokign pot at WDW? I am not trying to start a debate over if it should be legal or not but just the fact that the last couple of times we where there, there were deffienaly some people burning on some of the attractions or had been very soon before we went on. My DD7 asked a couple of times what that smell was.

Anybody else notice it?

Just wondering

I've never noticed it and I've been quite frequently over the past few years.

I've never noticed it, either.

Only once at DTD two summer's ago behind the bathrooms that face SSR.

I caught a wiff when I was there in February! I can't remember, but it was either on Carousel (puppies) of Progress or Spaceship earth! Couldn't see anyone actually in the process, but could definately smell it! The friend that was with me gave me the look too :scratchin and said "do you smell that?"

I was surprised that someone was :smokin: in one of the parks. Not cool in my book. Keep it private people.

We smelled it last summer on Haunted Mansion....

It took a few minutes but we turned to each other simultaniously and said "Somebody is smoking weed!" We were pretty shocked that someone would have the nerve to try such a thing, let alone at Disney.

A few minutes after we smelled it, the ride stopped for a good five minutes...maybe they were spotted and escorted out, I'll never know...

Chances are yes. Never ever try to get away with anything on the haunted mansion. It is so heavly survalenced because people try to get away with so much un disney stuff in it's dark hallways.

Before you blow your moral gasket, remember, it could be for medicinal purposes.
True, however, it is illegal in Florida, medicinal or not. I do agree that terming it "inappropriate," as wdwlvr629 did, is misleading: It's illegal, and anything illegal is inappropriate, of course. However, it isn't any more or less inappropriate than a second offense of reckless driving. (Both crimes are misdemeanors in Florida, punishable by incarcertation of up to one year and a $1000 fine.)

if it is they why are they at Disney world.
Not especially, no. Drug use is a serious violation anywhere, but it would only be especially objectionable on the premises of a school, workplace, or government office, where recreational activities are proscribed.

Hardly ever even see anyone smoking, maybe we just dont look for it and are on a quest of our own, not someone elses. :confused3

YES!

On our last trip we stayed at the Contemporary Tower and had a view of MK. My 9 year old and I were sitting on the balcony watching the fireworks and I noticed the smell coming from the balcony of our neighbor's to the left of us. My DD asked me what that smell was?

I couldn't believe it.

I've honestly never smelled it, but now that I know several of you have I will keep my nose open when we go in September. I can't stand the smell of it. Heck, I can't even stand the smell of cigarrettes let alone 'mary-j'. :smokin:

Only once. I alerted security at DTD, one of which just so happened to be a former ATF/DEA agent ( one of the two ). Needless to say, the smell didn't last long. :)

You guys also have to remember that a lot of the guests coming to WDW come from countries where these substances are not illegal.

While working at WDW, I had a group of tourists come up to me and seriously ask me where they could purchase some pot. I truly thought the guest was kidding - but they kept badgering me about it. I finally explained that it was illegal - boy were they shocked that they were on track for a "sober" vacation.
