In your opinion what is the most overrated thing in WDW?

SDMT.

It's a kiddy coaster. A well themed kiddy coaster, but a kiddy coaster nonetheless.

I just can't wrap my head around the massive waits for the ride, or paying for a special breakfast so you can get a ride or two on it before the crowds arrive.

Not saying it's a bad ride or that I hate it (looking at you IASW), just that I don't see it as the greatest thing since sliced bread, as many, many others do.

Agreed. We rode it a bunch of times during out last visit because our son was too short to ride BTMMR, but I was bored with it after the first ride or 2.

Overrated? I might get some heat, but two very popular restaurants:
O'hana and Chef Mickey's.
The profit margin for these restaurants is huge for Disney. Charge higher end prices for mediocre food... in fact, often lower quality food. Buffets and "family style" are, in the restaurant industry, a great way to maximize profits while keeping costs down. Yet people rave about these places. I just don't get it!

When was the last time you ate at ohana? Quality is MUCH better than chef mickeys these days. Sorry you didn't enjoy it, but I can think of a dozen more expensive restaurants at Disney that are as expensive that are worse. (It's only 1 table service credit too)

This is more the norm than the exception. I know there are a lot of people on here that live in FL or vacation there once, twice, thrice a year, but the majority do a place less frequently. Enough time for there to be a swath of new stuff to do. I'm looking forward to SDMT and FEA. It's been a few years for our family.

Yeah it's been 6 years for my husband and I. Honestly back in late summer 2015 I just sorta had the "hey maybe we go back to WDW but in 2017?" (because originally it was going to be the yearly family vacation that we've been doing for a while with the in-laws-though they are actually not going now due to stamina concerns) and it went from there. There was never a vacation actually planned after we got back from our trip in 2011. I knew we would eventually come back but when was not known. There's a lot of new stuff but also things that went bye bye since we last went.

I'm interested in 7DMT and FEA myself but at least right now I've kept my expectations to a certain level though of course that could change once I'm actually able to go on them.

I have to say it's the character meet & greets. Nobody in my family likes them but everyone on here seems to LOVE them. I just can't get the thought out of my mind that there is a (possibly disgruntled) 20-something standing in an uncomfortable costume, trying to be cool with 1,000 people hugging him/her and taking pictures. I can't meet face characters either. All I think about is how they DON'T look like their characters. Both are weird for me.

Nope! I'm with you. I never wanted to do character meet n greets until my little ones started demanding it. It's creepy to me, and the face characters you can tell are annoyed by everyone touching their skin.

I didn't call this one out, but I'm really glad there are others that feel the same. Thankfully my son has never been into the Disney characters. He's all about the rides! BTMR multiple times? Mom's in!

Animal Kingdom... All of it...Just an expensive, hot zoo to me . Now, with Avatar land it's even busier with plastic glow in the dark scenery. (I've heard some good reviews of the ride but not enough to make me spend the day in the park lol!). I just always refuse to go to that park. Just me and my families opinion

Okay - so now we are going to need to thread about which Brady Bunch episode was the best.

Her Sister's Shadow ("Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!") and The Subject Was Noses ("Oh, my nose!") are probably the best known episodes.

But there are SOOOOOO many that are fabulous and groovy!

The monorail. We are just not public transportation people. We rent a car and even pay extra for the Disney golf carts for our cabin stay at Fort Wilderness.

Character meet and greets. We met Mickey at Town Square last year and it was so weird having him being locked in a room and all secretive like. It just didn't feel magical. I know people don't like character meals- but I love the interaction and chaos haha and I love buffets! I don't even eat a lot and I am a gym rat but I just love them LOL

Long waits for rides. Oh and the pins.

It's so interesting to read and see what people love/dislike! I guess that's why WDW is so big so it caters to everyone's tastes

With the more expensive restaurants, most are priced the way they are just to justify to the dining plan patrons that they are getting a deal. Most of the cheaper restaurants could definitely stand on their own outside of WDW. Sci fi diner, beaches and Cream, 50s prime time, etc.

Haha, that is a very small list compared to all the attractions, food locations, merchandise, hotels, events, entertainment etc that are available at MK/MK area.

I could add to it ......... TURKEY LEGS should be banned and all guests who gnaw at them like cannibals.

I love Disney World and been going since it opened, maybe my issue is I have high expectations and some of these don't make the bar.

PS I also rode Small World at the World's Fair ...... I would have been good with that one ride.

Well, I think it depends on the product. I think ticket prices are 100% value.

I would say for the amount of time you have to wait for Frozen Ever After, it is extremely overrated. You spend the first part of the ride anticipating going to Elsa's castle, just to have her push you away and then it's over in record time. I would say the quality of the AA's would justify about a 20 minute wait for that experience, but an hour and a half to two hours? Just don't get the hype.
I kind of feel similarly about 7dmt, even though it is pictured in my avi.

I know I'm probably the only one here who would say this, but for us it's Magic Kingdom. We love Disneyland and can spend several days there, but MK is a half day park for us at most.

I agree about the turkey legs. I never understood those at the parks. Ren faires, maybe.

Well...perhaps except that "value" is subjective.

Disney isn't saying "all guests will find value in all things we provide/offer/have".

Also 'proud' isn't what I would personally describe it as.
