No, I wouldn't ever. After more than 2 decades of working at a library, I wouldn't trust any of the upholstered furniture in any of them. We had extended operating hours for the longest time, and very little supervision during those hours. Enough said!

Bringing along a pillow is a bit much, except if this is a school library where students can end up waiting hours and hours to complete lab work or reports.

My DH went to John Jay College of Criminal Justice in NYC and used to sit in their big brown chairs between classes and complain how he & his friend would just pass out in them. I went with him a few times and admittedly, they were way too comfy to be allowed... sigh... just thinking about them brings back dreamy memories I don't know if they are still there but if they are be warned, they should not be engaged.

I said no because I work at a library and that is not the only thing I have seen done on couches, chairs, tables, in the book stacks....

I had a study group through the first term of anatomy & physiology during the summer. After my French class ended, I ended up in the library every Tuesday and Thursday from noon until 6PM with them. I was the first one there about half the time and we'd all meet in a study room. Someone usually brought a cooler of food, another person pillows, another person coffee, another dry erase markers and erasers.

Your library allowed coolers? Lucky you. Mine didn't even allow a bottle of water. Of course, this was *many* years ago...

I put nope, because I work in a library and I totally see the sort of people who do that and I don't want my head anywhere near them. Yuck. Luckily we have policy that means we can tell them to put on thier shoes and not lay down.
