Okay, so this might seem like a prying question, but it's not-- I'd just to consider any other tunes I might be overlooking:

Do you (or others you know) have favorite songs that instantly put you in the mood for a little... (that's all I'll say here for fear of being censored)?

Remember-- they don't have to be songs you've ... to before, just ones that put you in the mood to ... if you could!

Some personal examples:

--"Brass in Pocket;" Pretenders
-- 'Let's Stay Together;" Al Green
-- "Slave to Love;" Brayn Ferry

...you get the idea.

Would really appreciate your ideas/ favorites.

Thanks again-- I just thougth the DIS'ers were the right group of folks to consider/ reply to this topic!
;)

You're right on with Slave to Love. That song does it to me every time  :rolleyes1

I'll answer - I'm not shy :teeth: I used to have a whole list somewhere...I can't find it now...If I remember, some others were:

The Chauffeur, Save a Prayer, Come Undone, My Antarctica, Venice Drowning, the entire 2nd half of the Big Thing album - Duran Duran
Keep Me in the Dark - Arcadia
I Do What I Do - John Taylor
As the World Falls Down, Absolute Beginners - David Bowie
One Hundred Years, Charlotte Sometimes, The Figurehead - The Cure
Avalon, More Than This - Roxy Music
All on a Misty Morning - Paul Weller
Love Bites - Def Leppard
Hold Me Thrill Me Kiss Me Kill Me - U2
Don't Stand So Close to Me - The Police
Sweet Troubled Soul - Stellastarr

And my MOTHER would probably chime in with White Wedding and Cradle of Love by Billy Idol...there's a thought I'd like to forget...

LOL This is a great one by Tom Jones! :thumbsup2

"You Can Leave Your Hat On"

Baby, take off your coat, real slow.
Baby, take off your shoes. I'll help you take off your shoes.
Baby, take off your dress. Yes, yes, yes.

You can leave your hat on.
You can leave your hat on.
You can leave your hat on.

Go over there, turn on the light. No, all the lights.
Come back here, stand on the chair. Ooh, baby, that's right!
Raise your arms in the air, now shake 'em.

You give me reason to live.
You give me reason to live.
You give me reason to live.
You can leave your hat on!

Suspicious minds are talking. That's right, they'll tear us apart.
They don't believe in this love of ours.
They don't know what love is.
They don't know what love is.
I know what love is.
You can leave your hat on.
You can

and of course theres always Lets get it on by Marvin Gaye- can't over look that little classic.

Oops I've also remembered another of my "favourites"! lol

It's called Your Man and it's by Josh Turner....anyone who has ever heard this guys voice will understand ........when we were in Orlando in Feb that's all we head on the radio on our drive in to WDW and wow is he good!

"Your Man"

Baby lock the door and turn the lights down low
Put some music on that's soft and slow
Baby we ain't got no place to go
I hope you understand

I've been thinking 'bout this all day long
Never felt a feeling quite this strong
I can't believe how much it turns me on
Just to be your man

There's no hurry
Don't you worry
We can take our time
Come a little closer
Lets go over
What I had in mind

Baby lock the door and turn the lights down low
Put some music on that's soft and slow
Baby we ain't got no place to go
I hope you understand

I've been thinking 'bout this all day long
Never felt a feeling quite this strong
I can't believe how much it turns me on
Just to be your man

Ain't nobody ever love nobody
The way that I love you
We're alone now
You don't know how
Long I've wanted to

Lock the door and turn the lights down low
Put some music on that's soft and slow
Baby we ain't got no place to go
I hope you understand

I've been thinking 'bout this all day long
never felt a feeling that was quite this strong
I can't believe how much it turns me on
Just to be your man
I Can't believe how much it turns me on
Just to be your man

Marvin's Sexual Healing too!

Wow-- great suggestions here! --Guess I kind of anticipated the Marvin Gaye stuff, and both Duran's "Chauffer" and Roxy Music's "More Than This" song are definitely 80s-oldies but goodies!

Any others (esp. standards, classics, Motown, etc.)? --Surprised I haven't heard any suggestions for tunes by Norah Jones, Sarah McLachlan, Ella Fitzgerald, Annie Lennox (2 of my faves), or even Abba for that matter.

--C'mon, everybody, keep 'em comin'! You're doing great! :teeth: :thumbsup2 :rolleyes1

Let's Get It On - is there anything more "moody" than that?

The Rain Song - Led Zeppelin
ETA - Whole Lotta Love - Led Zeppelin
Slow Ride - I forget the name of the band

I'm in a rock n roll frome of mind right now.
