BUT, I'm looking for the top to be the old kind with buttonholes for shower curtain hooks. Not the new top that is called hookless.

I like to use a fabric shower curtain liner along with my pretty hook type shower curtain, but its a pain to keep taking it down to wash the liner.

If I could find a liner that uses hooks, but snaps off for washing, that would be awesome!

I've googled, but I'm not finding it. I might need to buy a hookless, cut off the top, and sew on a strip of buttonholes from an old liner.

This is what I mean by snap off if you haven't seen them. Hotels use them. http://www.amazon.com/Sensible-Stor...SE/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1334694597&sr=8-12

If I'm understanding correctly, you want to be able to easily remove the liner to wash it. I found shower curtain hooks at Target that are made for that: each hook actually has 2 hooks, one side for the liner and one side for the outer (pretty) curtain. You can remove the liner without also removing the curtain. If I misunderstood, please disregard my odd explanation! :confused3:rotfl:

I wasn't aware there was such a thing as a double shower curtain hook. That certainly could be an option. I currently have the curtain & the liner on one set of hooks, so its a little work to keep taking the liner off to wash. That would be easier if I cannot find a snap off kind that hooks onto the decorative hooks I already have.

I did find sewing places online that sell "plastic snap tape" so I could try to modify my existing liner too.

Thank you for the hooks idea.

Have you tried your local dollar store? I just bought a white one yesterday that has the old buttonholes. I get them there all the time. I even use them to cover my big craft table as they are so cheap to replace.

I have never heard of the snap on kind. :confused3

Also, I just have the old, plastic loop thingies to hang my shower curtains. I face the open part toward the back, (shower side) so I can just take down the liner and not take off the pretty curtain, which can stay on the back of the loop.

That's what I have in my bathroom. It is so nice not to have to take the whole shooting match off every time I want to wash, or change, the liner. I think I got my hooks at Bed, Bath and Beyond, but our Target has them as well. This is the kind I have......

How about just using two sets of hooks. One set for the fabric curtain, and another set (placed alternately between the set for the fabric curtain) for the liner?

And really, how often are you taking the liner down to wash it? If you run the fan and then close the curtain a while after the shower, it will dry and not get gross for a long time. I simply replace the liner (they are cheap, only a couple of $) every few months rather than washing it.

I ended up getting these double shower hooks. I had no idea something like that existed. I feel silly.

Shower curtain goes on the shorter side. Liner goes on the longer side so it hangs lower than curtain.

I can now change out the liner so much faster than removing the hooks like I was doing. Only thing, I can't use my matching decorative hooks now. Oh well.

Whoa!! I'm genuinely impressed with those. I'm sitting here thinking, "Why didn't I invent that??"

But you know me - I can be easily impressed :).

You might wanna check Macy's shower curtains. I usually buy these kind of stuff there and they are pretty good quality and also easy to clean which is very important if you don't wanna change your curtains in every third month.
