In Search of My Body vol.9 - I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends

Hi all. It is amazing how busy this time of year gets. It's been a whirlwind the last few days, but I finished up my preparations for my next Disney trip (Feb 2-7 2011.) I'll be staying at PO-FQ and I'm holding out hope that it will be completely dead while I'm there.

Nice job on the runs everyone. I'm very excited because the gym I'm joining finally opens up on January 2nd, so that will help my cross-training quite a bit.

I do have to say I'm on the anti-green bean casserole bandwagon, never met one that I liked.

Nancy u Omg on u shopping list.
I feel good, but my left foot hurts, the outside ball:confused3

Cathie hocky tickets sound like a good idea

i am also on the anti casserol list, give me fresh steamed green beans instead

Back to work for me

Well the weathermen messed up again. Supposedly we were getting a snow storm Sunday then Sunday night then we weren't getting it. It's here! Just in time for rush hour, which I missed because I work till 4.

Cathie- I might be a bit biased but hockey tickets are always a great gift! I got tickets last year as one of my gifts from my parents.

Nancy - see what a run does to you. Too funny! JC has been on Saturdays lately due to my crazy schedule. I was down two pounds this week, but I think I ate my way back into some of that thanks to the mainlining of caffeine (tea w/ sugar) and cookies to keep me awake this afternoon. :surfweb: I was up at 4 and in my office by 5:30 for a 6:00AM meeting with my night crew. Ugh... Powered my way through my workout with Jesse tonight though but skipped out on cardio. My bed is calling me. Jesse is fine. Just a bit stressed about some trivial things but no drama. He still can't understand the whole being off the wagon thing that I go through from time to time. Oh well. Guess that is mine to deal with.

Cathie - Hockey tickets are always good in my book.

Meg - sorry about the storm hitting at rush hour.

Kelly - I am with Nancy. Stop hogging the snow! The extreme cold you can keep though....:rolleyes1

Rob - I am jealous that you are heading back to WDW. I have always wanted to stay at PO-FQ. I like the scale of it. Not too big, not too small.

Hi to everyone else! My mind is a blur at the moment otherwise I would be saying something to each of you.

I finally came up with a few ideas for my sister. She is getting a DVD set of the Family Guy's Star Wars spoofs (she is a big Star Wars fan) and then she is getting her choice of add on gifts. Either the framing of a print for her apartment, tickets to the Trans Siberian Orchestra concert that is the day after Christmas or a new pair of shoes. Her choice as they are all about the same price. It should be interesting to see what she picks.

Sleep... must get to sleep now. See you on the flip side.

:cool1: awesome! I hope it's dead too!

More awesome! Perfect timing, I think. New year, new gym...a fresh renewal of life and healthy living :goodvibes

I do have to say I'm on the anti-green bean casserole bandwagon, never met one that I liked.

 Me either! In general, I'm not a casserole fan of any kind. I know. Random facts about Nancy. File that one away - you never know when it might come in handy :rotfl2:

I feel good, but my left foot hurts, the outside ball:confused3

What's that all about? The shoes maybe? :confused3

i am also on the anti casserol list, give me fresh steamed green beans instead

Yes! Or my new favorite - roasted green beans a la Emeril Lagasse. I added bacon. OMG yum

grrr. Everyone else is getting my snow :headache:

:thumbsup2 Nice! Seth was very excited to see that F.G.'s Star Wars Episode 6 (I think....) is coming out now.

Congrats on your loss Paula. :lovestruc

Meg, we got snow here big time last night, start at about 3 PM, which is what time I left work, so I made it home with no issue. DH on the other hand took a long time to get home.

Rob, I stayed at PO-FQ for my first on propery trip to disney. I fell in love.
Have the most wonderful time.

Paula, good job on the loss. And sounds like you have a lot of nice gift options for your sister. I would pick the shoes :lmao:

Nancy, how did you do with your shopping this today?? Make any head way.

Kat, hows the shin, is it all most time out of that cast?

EE, Trip Report???

Kelly, Liz, Lisa, Amiee, Ronda, Cathie Hope you all are well.
:goodvibes

I don't know whats up with me waking up in the middle of the night like this.
So back to bed for me.

I'm pretty sure I'm the only one around here who likes green bean cassarole....:confused3 Oh well, more for me!!!!!! :rotfl:

Having a baked potato/taco/nacho bar potluck at work today. I brought the butter and guacamole. HOME MADE guacamole. I hate to gloat...but it's amazing. Organic avacodas never hurts, either :)

I'm going to try to stick with some chips and salsa and guac, and a baked potato and toppings-unless someone can come in and tell me that their taco meat is 97% lean ground beef and they drained all the grease like I do...which is probably not likely haha. :)

In Christmas shopping news...the hockey tickets are out. A)I can't afford the tickets I wanted to get him to the Redwings/Avs game. I should have known better. The game is next Monday, and it's a HUGE rivalry. So yeah, mostly sold out. B) We share an account and were I to buy the tickets he'd see on our bank account online (which he checks everyday) what I bought! So there goes that surprise  At this rate it's looking like I will be at the store Christmas Eve day with all of the other crazies :scared1: since I am baking tonight and tomorrow night.

HOME MADE guacamole.

:lovestruc I love a good guacamole!

My plan is to enjoy myself responsibly for the remainder of the holiday season. I am so awestruck by those of you who can lose weight thru this madness. I'm just going to keep working out and try not to over-indulge on any one thing. We'll see how well that plan works out for me :upsidedow

Today I'm going to start wrapping. Or gift-bagging  This could very well be the year of the bag. Whatever. I'm not going to stress over it. After Becca gets home from school, we are heading out to the mall. She has amazingly good shopping karma, so I'm hoping we can git it done. :thumbsup2

Cathie - you had to mention guacamole didn't you. I used to love that. I say used to because I had a horrible experience with homemade guac not too long ago. It was after my gallbladder out and I ate way too much of my friend's guac and was so sick afterwards. I was in the fetal position for therese if the night and into the next day as my body couldn't process all the fat from the avocado and chips. Oy - it was awful. Still can't eat it or even think about it.

Hope everyone is having a good night. Pretty uneventful around here which is a good thing.

I won't lie... I feel bloated and disgusting right now. I didn't even really over do it but it was more then I'm used to and it's actually really bothering me. I'm going to be better about this tomorrow. I have also promised myself that during the like 20 minutes of free time I get when the kids are napping I will do some sort of ab work or something just to feel less lazy.

And in sad news... three teachers had gift cards stolen out of their mail pockets at work yesterday. This is the second theft in a month and a half, this is the first time since I've worked there that anything like this has happened. Ugh, it's like being stuck inside a burning building. I'm just watching things crash down around me and I can't get out.

Meg, you have described perfectly my feelings from late July through now. Watching things crash around me and I can't get out.

Meg, who could be the one steeling, another employee??

Meg, Kat, I am so sorry work has been sucktastic for you both, but you are not alone.

I wish I could post the things that are going on at my work.
I just tell myself everyday, what comes around goes around.!!

Happy Wednesday All!!!

Meg, who could be the one steeling, another employee??

We are located in the basement of a church so there are sometimes other people around but the doors are locked unless the church has something going on. You need a code to even get into the building. The gift cards were stolen out of our main office between the hours of 8(when the parent put the gift cards in the teacher's mail pockets) and 1(when the teacher who figured it out got in for her shift.) So while no one wants it to be someone we work with, it's also very likely that it is because no one else was in the building. The owners of the company sent us an email asking us not to point fingers because it will breed an air of suspicion and that if they find out that it is one of the employees then serious action will be taken. But they aren't coming down to ask questions about it and when we had $80 stolen they wouldn't let us go to the police so we may never get to the bottom of this. The parent who gave the gift cards knows they've been stolen so I hope she pushes them to do something. Oh and the $80 that was stolen was money raised by one of our classes to buy food for a family at Thanksgiving. It was in a jar in the main office which is kept locked when we're not there and all the was left was some loose change.

But in other news it's Wednesday and that means only two more days till a four day weekend and Christmas!!! :santa:

ridiculously frustrating day at work. :headache: Then shopping with Becca. :yay: We have had amazing shopping mojo the two of us. :thumbsup2 Now, drinking and finally making dinner. Gourmet. Chicken tenders. Ravioli. Sauce from a jar (with a bit of tweaking ;))

Tell me again, who exactly loves holidays? Kids and men I think.....

Nancy, after you finish that bottle of wine, I am sure you will like the holidays more.
Plus the store owners they really like the holidays.

Craptastic day at work. One of the bosses, is back in the office full time, she has nto been in for 2 years. She has a dark dark soul....

I'm so lazy when it comes to gift-wrapping, pretty much everything gets bagged haha!!! Carlos made me wrap most of them this year though. It's cheaper. And prettier. And more fun to open. And blah blah blah...darn boy and his traditionalism lol

Cathie - you had to mention guacamole didn't you. I used to love that. I say used to because I had a horrible experience with homemade guac not too long ago. Awww Paula what an awful experience!!!!! Yeah, that happened to me a lot after I had mine taken out, I had to really watch what I ate or I'd be in that kind of pain. I still have to watch it, 8 years later.

Hopefully one day you and guacamole can be friends again :)

That's soooo sad. It's really horrible that someone would do something like that at the holidays...I try to think that maybe they are really desperate and needed it to buy things for their kids...but even then...there are ways to reach out to those around you without making others miserable. I really hope the school does something about it because that's just ridiculous.

Meg, you have described perfectly my feelings from late July through now. Watching things crash around me and I can't get out.

Just  Lots and lots of them. I hope things stop crashing soon.

This week has been insane. It must be a bad work week worldwide. Because my boss is driving me up the wall....if I could drink at work he'd be driving me to that, too.

Over the last year I've been pushing for my promotion to a 3rd level rep. Been giving him proof of how I am up to that level, and why I deserve the promotion. He kept saying that we'd wait until the end of the year. Well, now here it is, and they've changed the guidelines. And they're bigger. Crazier. Expecting much more...still things I can handle though, and have done this year. Well after he informed me of this, lo and behold, the last two weeks he's been BOMBARDING me...having me deal with calls that we'd send elsewhere, preparing things for legal, high priority cases, etc. Don't get me wrong...it's great to feel important, great to feel needed, and to have a chance to shine. But I've been doing it all year. I guess he just wanted to see how much I could handle at once to make sure I really am ready for the promotion. It's been a VERY stressful week. All of the emails in my inbox right now are from him....:headache: I just keep repeating to myself, three day weekend, three day weekend....

And on another happy note, Carlos and I went to his parents house last night to help his mom decorate cookies. If any of you remember, I'm pretty sure his mom isn't real fond of me. But last night....was WONDERFUL. She was very chatty, and it was actually a lot of fun. She actually gave me a hug when we left, too, instead of waving from across the room like she normally does! It was so nice. I think that maybe Carlos and I moving in together has perhaps made her realize that I'm here to stay and she's not getting rid of me! :lmao:

I hope everyone's week has not been too stressful, and that you're all heading into Christmas well. If I'm not around this weekend, I'll be here Monday to catch up!

Have a great day everyone!!!!

Merry Christmas Cathie, glad u had a nice time with Carlos's mom.

Meg its 2:20 here, my weekend starts in one hour and ten mins.
I cant wait to get away from scrooge

Yup so I have the stomach bug. Just as parents were picking up today(about a half hour before I get off of work) I got sick twice. I'm home now and in bed. So much for my plans to play hockey and drink tonight.

But I'm going to just tell myself I'll feel better soon and it's Christmas!

Meg, sorry your sick, I hope the flu bug passes fast.

I am keeping my fingers crossed that eveyone here keeps the "sick monster" away !!!

Oreo truffles are done, christmas brownies are in the oven. Apple Pie is next. and then chilling with a movie by the fire.

Merry Christmas Eve, Eve!!!!:santa::santa:
