In Search of My Body vol.9 - I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends

....Of course they then pulled out their little motorized scooters and raced up the hill. Ah to be young again....

:rotfl2:

Nancy - mmm cake... can't wait to see it. Glad you had a good ride today. You needed that. Hugs...

I did need that ride. This week and next my workouts will be few and far between. It's a fact of life that I've come to accept. Once our 4H fair is over and done with, I'll be getting some of my own time back. :upsidedow

Channeling good hiring thoughts to Paula and Kat! We have lost 3 this week (all new hires) and one who just converted to a permanent status this week gave notice. A one week notice. What happened to 2?

Life goes on right?

EE - I just don't get it. Seems like you are hiring/losing people all the time. What is it about this job that makes it so hard to fill? :confused3

I It will wig you out.

Oh and as for the fact that no one else looks like you - who cares? Life would be boring if we all looked the same. I am the biggest woman in my riding group, consistently come in last and am having a ball doing it. I hung with a triathelete today doing hill repeats. He got one or two more climbs in than I did, but we both did the same thing. He was just faster. I didn't care because this isn't a race. It is about me! And so should your running be for you.

!

Paula, Wigged out me? NO !:rolleyes1:lmao:

Paula, I love you for what you said. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
Running is for ME, I forgot that for a second. Some of the people that I have told that I am going to do the race by myself, have told me I am crazy. So I started to let that sit in my head. YES I am crazy for flying out of state and going to this by myself, (an 30K other women) But that is the reason I am doing it. For me, to see if I can stand on my own out of my comfort zone for me.
Paula, Lisa, Kat, EE, E, Nancy, Ronda, Meg, Kelly ALL OF YOU THANK YOU!

Day 5 no COKE!! I told myself, no coke Monday - Friday and just 1 on the weekend. Can' t wait for tomorrow :rotfl2:

This weekend we are taking the girls to Lake MI (I know I live in Chicago and they have never seen the lake) You all know I have issues! :lmao:

Nancy - call centers historically have horrible turn over, but we hire through a temp agency, so that makes it worse. On top of this, we are expanding our department. 5 down (in 2 weeks) due to attrition and adding approximately 10. Those who don't take the calls personally succeed. We tell everybody that it takes 6 months to really get your groove, but so many just wont give it that long. This job can actually be fun. When I was a rep, I loved talking my farmers as they were milking their cows or plowing their fields. In a nutshell, they can be nice and still collect money.

Hi Everyone!

Man, busy week! TGI Friday!

Jo - The goddesses said it better than I ever could, but what I can say is I know you WILL finish the race. Why? Well, you're a goddess! Look how far you've come - you joined a racing club, you have cut out the fizzy pop, you are running some every day. You can do this!

EE - Ive worked in a call centre before so I get what you're saying with the taking calls personally. I worked with a temps too, so the turnover was really high. Great job though, I enjoyed it whilst I was there.

Meg - Hope you are having fun in San Francisco! Its on my list of the Cities I want to see before I die! :rotfl:

Nancy, Paula, Kat, E, Ronda, Lisa, everyone - Hi :flower3:

Did I say TGI Friday? :lmao:

Hope everyone is having a great day :upsidedow

Hey everybody! TGIF :cool1: I had so many interviews today and I found a keeper (6 more to go). It is miserably hot here - 100+.

I have 750 calories that I can spend for the rest of the evening. Woo Hoo! Off to catch up.

I buckled. The pressure was just too much for me tonight. I opened a bottle of red :lovestruc Although, I did committ to Sunday-Thursday with no wine, so...:rolleyes1

Paula, Wigged out me? NO !:rolleyes1:lmao:

:rotfl2: no, never! :rotfl2:

YES I am crazy for flying out of state and going to this by myself, (an 30K other women) But that is the reason I am doing it. For me, to see if I can stand on my own out of my comfort zone for me.

And that right there is a quote to hold on to. For you. Because you need to prove to yourself that you can!

EE - I do understand better now! I hope that you get the staff that you need.

Kelly - yes. TGIF. Or now, TGIS for you! So, did I mention the fact that my son is taking care of our friends animals for 16 days whilst they are in ENGLAND? :confused3 You may have seen them....mom, dad, 3 kids....:rotfl2:

I, myself, am a hot mess. PMS like no bodies business. Stress level thru the roof. Exercise not what it needs to be. Food intake, meh. Calgon, take me away :rotfl2:

Nancy, you just described my life.

I clink my beer glass with your wine glass?

I have to bail on run club tomorrow because my shin is still not where it needs to be for a 10 miler, and I am still fighting this cold enough that getting up at 5:30 is probably not a good idea.

I am very likely to order compression sleeves in the next few days, as I have been told they really help (whee, I get to look like rather an idiot though!). Runningwarehouse.com has them for $15/piece after WISH discount.

Jo - currently following stress and heat diet - no appetite at all. In general though, I try to follow low fat proteins with whole grains. I try to stay around 1200-1500 calories.

Kat - I'm picturing compression sleeves to be similar to the stockings used by people with vein issues. Going to have to google them. Rest sounds like holding down the couch is in your future. That and an ice/biofreeze regimen.

Nancy - I so wish I enjoyed red wine. Sigh. Jungle Jim's had some awesome prices on lost vineyard wines - under $4. One of my classmates from U E says the one I brought her back is very good and not a $4 wine. I have buying orders for more if I get back. Oh, they also had some awesome apricot wine. All apricot, no grape at all (same price too).

Just put my day 2 touring plans on a spreadsheet and posted them. Must work on autograph books. pirate:

Good Morning Everyone!

:thumbsup2 Glad you found a good one!

Hey, I think I know them! :lmao:
I hope they have a great time over here - although I hope wherever they are the weather is better than where I am - it has thrown it down with rain for the past 3 days! :sad2:

Ouch Kat. Hope the shin starts to feel better. Compression Sleeves? Are they like the tubigrip stocking things?

Well as the weather is so delightful (by delightful I mean not so much!) I won't be doing much outside today! So indoors exercise for me, Im thinking of jumping on the thigh trainer whilst the football is on!
Tonight I am going as my best friends date to her neighbours 60th birthday party :rotfl:

Tomorrow I am shopping with my mum - we are going to spend my birthday money and vouchers, so that will mean a LOT of walking :thumbsup2

Hope everyone has a great day (when you all get up!) :rotfl2:

Good morning goddesses! At work and wish I was home planning. Ryan has his first game today and it is supposed to be miserable. Storms coming our way too.

Massive Debilitating Headache here :headache:

Paula - can't wait to hear about todays ride.

I have more to say, but currently feel like my head is going to explode, so it will have to wait until later.

Oh no Nancy! Motrin to the rescue.

Stomping mad mamma alert!

It is 114 with the heat index and my sweet pea is playing football ( and lots of other little sweet peas ). They are playing on 10 and then break for 10. If that is necessary, they shouldn't be playing.

I completely take back what I said. Even though I didn't want them to play in the first place, the league was smart. 10 minutes was an entire half. We are done and the hot gear is off.

I'm so relieved to hear that! I remember when Nate played lacrosse - OMG the under-layers, padding, jerseys - so much stuff on. They'd sweat in 60* weather, never mind 100*+!

I'm feeling much, much better. I had some food, advil, a short power nap (15minutes, then a closing door startled me awake) and I started to turn around. I have total and complete empathy for anyone who suffers from migranes. Headaches totally suck.

LMAO :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Becca just b00by-trapped the pantry! Stephen opened the door and was immediately accosted by a falling broomstick.

Glad you are feeling better. I had that headache yesterday. I thought I was free of the monthly menstrual migraine, but unfortunately, I was wrong.

Thankfully I got Mirena approved so can hopefully get that taken care of in the next month or so.

can I just say, it's been too long and next year we need to find a mid-year reason for a gathering.

I have to bail on run club tomorrow because my shin is still not where it needs to be for a 10 miler, and I am still fighting this cold enough that getting up at 5:30 is probably not a good idea.

Feel better. Nothing sucks worse than running injured with a cold.

they will help. looking like an idiot? priceless. I expect a photo of this goddess-in-a-wrapper look ;)(did I mention previously that I'm currently indulging in my fav beverage? 'cause I am)

Jo - currently following stress and heat diet - no appetite at all.

ugh. My least favorite diet of all. Here's hoping that the weather changes soon!

So excited for you and your trip! How 'bout one of those email photos from Epcot. I'd love it if you sent a funky pic of you guys from the Kodak photo center....

Hey, I think I know them! :lmao:

Oh, you've seen them? Mom, dad, 2 gingers and a blonde? We need rain here oh so desparately. It's awful here right now :sad2:

Tonight I am going as my best friends date to her neighbours 60th birthday party :rotfl:

Tomorrow I am shopping with my mum - we are going to spend my birthday money and vouchers, so that will mean a LOT of walking :thumbsup2

have FUN Kelly!!!
