In search of my body...not the one I ate!

So we won? Yippie.

But, I was a gainer. So, really, I was a hinderance. But I like the gain penalty.

Dawn, while I like this competition and all, I feel bad for you. It's alot of work trying to keep this all figured out. (And using your brain so much, your liable to get hurt.;) )

Thank you for acknowledging this...I am not joking that Dan and I spent over 3 hours just today on the post from last week ...changing formats..erasing people..adding people..reconfigurating the spreadsheet to figure out what is fair..etc..

Now we have our method and we will not be changing it...Dan is OCD in that aspect..his chart has to be effecient and pretty...:rotfl:

I love the cakes...Dan and I think we will have to get into decorating but I think that is just cause he likes the frosting...
DIRTY BIRD WORM...;)

Thanks Dawn & Dan for taking care of this!

WOO-HOO Body Borders! WE so totally rule! I love the fact that we are now using the tally from the WHOLE team! :cool1:

Well, it has been a rollercoaster of drama these last 24 hours. The job that I was waiting to come through is not going to happen. They did not win the contract. AND the company I work for now did not win it either. What does this mean...I have 90 days. But, I was contacted by the company who is a subcontractor under the one that did win and they asked me to send my resume and salary requirementd. I signed the offer letter today so now it is up to the government to come through and place everyone in the positions. Lord only knows how long that will take. I hope that it will be a smooth transition and that this new company will come through. I am trying to remain positive but I was up all night worrying. I am not sure I have it in me to be a contractor. Doing this dance every 3-5 years is going to kill me. The upside is you can make a butt load of money the downside, no job security. I feel like this today:scared1: .

I have my fingers crossed for you! Nearly everyone I know has done the contractor thing - Nick's friend and former coworker runs a small company of them. She's really the go-between. He did it after he got laid-off and she got him work, then he got hired fulltime and got her work. Worked out well for both of them, but when the contracts are up, it's stressful.

Here is the picture that came in the cake pan. The cake is supposed to "look EXACTLY like this castle."

Pretty fabulous if I do say so myself.;)

I'd made a rookie mistake. I didn't color my hues of pink to the right degree. The dark is not dark enough. The light is not light enough. So there isn't enough contrast. But, I was still pleased. I hated cutting into it.

Emily was peering over my shoulder. She said that's the perfect cake for her party. Just so you know, I'm not making it. ;)

You did a great job with it!

Great list for soccer mom Erika! Add icepack and Docs # to list along with Dentist # and the home phone too. Trust me on this one.
:cheer2: TG we have not had to face the cheerleading thing. DD wears her cougs CL to school. We will wait and see if interested in HS. Did I mention when I coached cheer (it was brief) that no one git pregnant. I deserve an award for that-could be a school or state title. I do birthday parties!!!
Paint the windows
write on mirrors (note to Dawn for WDW HB Treynor)
di-cut streamers
I could go on forever.
Kat screaming stop! stop! reigns (am I using this correctly) me in.
PM for party help.

I had to read the part about cheer out loud to my husband. I think that's hysterical! :lmao:

Did I mention this party is at the END of JULY? Yep. I stress early. :thumbsup2

Ok---ignore this post....just showing pics of cakes for DWD (who is awesome at decorating!)

This is my "boy cake" (Buzz for DS)--

DSCF4425.jpg

This is my princess castle cake...DWD's blows mine away. It is supposed to be a storybook, but that part didn't really come out.

CastleCake2.jpg

This is the most recent...for HSM theme. First time I ever had one break on me!

DSCF5535.jpg

This is a basic Pooh cake--

PoohCake2.jpg

This Tink cake is my absolute favorite!

DSCF5083.jpg

And here are two holiday cakes that I have every year by request (they are part of the family tradition now...)

Ok...sorry for being so off topic! I now return you to your regularly scheduled thread....

Emily declared all cakes "just perfect" and asked for every girl one for her birthday. No kidding. And the Buzz one for Grandpa, and the tree one for Christmas. She really loved the storybook one, but then was torn between that and the Tink one. You all are creating a monster!

I have a friend whose DS14 (freshman in H.S.) *decided* to do cheerleading this year. The stories she tells are SO funny - mostly because being a cheerleader mom is apparently much like being a beauty pageant mom - lots of drama and the need for perfection - :scared1: and my friend is...well...not at ALL like that. Her other kids were mortified by her "behavior" at a competition a few weeks ago...she's sooooo lost...:confused3

This is my fear! But, ironically, I adore cheer movies. Go figure.

YOU GO GIRL! That's SO my style! DD12 and I have been known to talk about naughty kids as if they weren't even right there in front of us! You KNOW that the parents hear us....but my word! If my kids were behaving that poorly in public, comments from strangers would be the least of their worries! :rolleyes1

I totally and without shame give naughty kids dirty looks. I don't love everyone, big or small. There was this kid on the plane watching Sponge Bob without his earbuds and I gave him my best "shape up" look. I am nice to other moms, though, if their kids lose it, because that could be me one day.

Tonight is pizza and maybe some WW ice cream...tomorrow is the gym. I am enjoying my junk food night!

Oh, and not to totally hijack with this birthday thing...birthdays are about food, though, right?...1st I did "fairy princess" two shades of pink and purple, bubbles, baby races, and cupcakes in ice cream cones (easier for babies to hold). That was when I wasn't into characters for small children...foolish, foolish woman! What's the point of kids if you can't indoctrinate them in Disney? 2nd I did JoJo (see, embracing the Disney thing) all primary colors, outside toys - climby thing, baby pool, b-ball hoop, mac and cheese and cut-up hot dogs. Ice cream cake. 3rd, Little Eintsteins. Made our own invites and pin the music note on Rocket game. Made musical instruments and had a parade, served something to the kids and quiche to the parents.

This year is hard because we need to invite the entire preschool class plus some...like 18, maybe 12 will come. Siblings, too, and frankly it's hot in July. I don't own a pool. So, do it out, but where? Bowling is high on the list, and if I could figure out how to swing a beach party, that might be fun. A lot of work, but fun.

Okay, I'll shut up about this now. :) Let's talk about...shoes, bags, spreadsheets...um, food? Pizza; meat or no meat? I vote no meat, but garlic.

Hi Guys - sorry i've been lurky mclurkster again :headache:
Bruces grandfather had been doing terribly the past few weeks, at home in hospice. He lost his fight this morning.... :sad1:

Not sure yet what is going to happen, services are monday, but in minnesota, we can't get bereavement rates, they are "sold out" and regular fares are coming in between $1200-1800 dollars per person, i can't swing that, not this close to the wedding, i have no money left.... So it's been a rough day, will be a rough weekend, i hope i don't eat like a pig and gain a bunch of lbs back.

I am sorry to bring down the cake conversation, all of those cakes are beautiful! Bruce is just having a hard time talking about this and i don't really have anyone around to talk to, since all of the ppl who know him are in MN....

Oh, I am so, so sorry to hear this. How sad and so close to your wedding. Talk to us. That's what we are here for.

I am so sorry for your loss...and Bruce's. These times are hard, but I am glad to hear that he went peacefully and at home with the care of hospice. They do such wonderful work (we used Hospice care for my grandfather as well).

The airlines are in a tizzy right now, as you know, but try again...try Southwest--they are usually wonderful with bereavement issues.

Hugs to you...:grouphug:

Thanks guys..

We have tried looking at the lower cost airlines, southwest, airtran, jetblue. None of them fly between here and minneapolis. The only ones that do are more expensive, NWA, united, american (no thanks) etc.. I have told bruce we could drive if he wants to, but that's a 14-17 hour drive if we dont stop to turn around and do it again a day and a half later, so he doesn't really want to....

In a way it's a relief, his grandpa has been so sick and in so much pain, and then bruce, just because of the field he's in (he is an lmsw) he was practically forced into playing therapist for everyone in the family for the past few months, and i know it has weighed on him. Just the next week will be tough...

SG LIz - PM'd you since it was off topic (Kat is gonna come beat me if I keep talking about kiddos! :lmao: ).

Dawn-- LOVED that PM! Hysterical! :rotfl2:

Those cakes are awesome... I really dig em...

Here is the New Info for April's Weight Loss smackdown with the
Peeps vs. BoadyBoarders..

The new tally results are as such....
#1 We will continue to post the top 5% weight loss winners from each thread...

#2 The weight loss success for the overall team for the week will be posted in a new format...
To give credit for the whole team...
The weight loss will be average loss for the team per person...

This makes it fair since the Peeps have 21 and Boarders have 14 people...plus we each have 9 people exactly that weigh over 180# which would mean that equal people have the potential to post higher numbers...

The other factor is that if you gain..it affects the team as well or do not post...I know that I need that accountability...makes me feel more teamish...:thumbsup2 :grouphug:

We are open to suggestions..but this was the consensus from Utah, me, Grumpy and 3 Dis Kids...
BTW...

WE ARE NOT BURGER KING. YOU CANNOT HAVE IT YOUR WAY. If it is burn't eat it or starve. (J/K):rolleyes1
:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

April 4th Results..
Peeps patrol
#1 Hockey Kat....2.26% :worship:
#2 DisObsession - 1.25%
#3 Pjlla - 1.16%
#4 DARuss - 1.16%
#5 DisFreak92 - .32%

Average weight loss per person...-.071 pounds

Body Board Babes
#1 Munky Me 13 - 2.01% (YOU ARE AN AMAZING WOMAN):cloud9:
#2 BrcsDisneyPrncs - -1.96%
#3 MamaBearJo - -.36%
#4 AKA Snow White - .34%
#5 Grumpy - 0% (in case of a tie..last weeks loss gets credit..)

That is right we did not have the best of weeks....but

WE LOST -.550 pounds Per person!!!!!! :dance3:

Is it a sad day in the neighborhood when for 21 people the average is about 1/10 of a pound and for 14 people it is about 1/2 a pound...???

WE NEED OUR TEAMS TO HAVE SOME SERIOUS EFFORT AND I AM TALKING OUT LOUD TO ME!!!!

Week 2 Tally's almost done...waiting for a few stragelers...:rolleyes1

Go body board!!!!!

Thanks guys..

I think I may have missed what happened but if you need anything let me know... *hugs* this is a great board and if I can do anything for you let me know...

Things are calm here today. Case worker from hospice came and saw my dad. He is mainly just staying in bed. Ate a couple bites of oatmeal and jello and is drinking more so thats good... DH is at work and will be home at 11... He is bringing me in a job app for his company, so we will see what that holds... Frankly I don't care as long as I am on the same shift as him. I did really well with weight this week. I lost 3.8 lbs this week! I've also already hit my monthly goal of 7 lbs! I've lost 7.8 lbs this month. At least there is a silver lining on my cloud. Now I just need to keep it off for the month and anything I lose is just extra to my goal. My DH has noticed I've been in better spirits since I've been home from work. I think a lot has to do with him being on the night shift. I love having even just a couple hours with him before he goes to work and I like sleeping at the same time as him. I hope everyone had a good week! :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: Thank you again for all the good wishes.

Thanks everyone and congrats on the losses. I found that by focusing on my food and stuff this week I was able to keep my mind off things at some points... also didn't hurt that I was eating frozen dinners for just about every meal... LOL! I am eating me some pizza hut tonight tho... Hasta luego!
