In search of my body...not the one I ate!

Erika, :lmao: . Have a great weekend.

I really liked your motivational post. However, someday is still someday for me. ;)

I forgot to post my food for yesterday:
B: Coffee
L: Olive Garden: Linguini alla Marinara (340), 1/2 breadstick (70), salad greens (20), lowfat italian (20)
D: Turkey sandwich (125), popcorn (200), bowl of fiber one (80), bowl of special k redberry (150), piece of sugar free angel food (60)
Total for the day, 1065. Exercise, none. Water, 64 oz.

And I weighed this morning and was 175.6. That is much better than the 177.2 I saw yesterday!! However, sadly, the 177.2 is my "official" weight for the challenge...

This is too funny not to share...

Those without kids, this is a message for you! :rotfl2: And those with kids can totally relate!

Ok, I am offline for the rest of the day and night...may pop in tomorrow just for a quick post. Have a great week-end!

Ok that was absolutely hysterical! I am laughing so hard, I'm crying!

Sugar free angel food? Cake??? Please, tell me more!

My number for the challenge was 189...so I sort of make up the numbers - not really, but still! Lost the .8 I gained and a little more. I'm not changing my tracker until WW gives me their number, though. Superstitious!

It's at wal-mart in the bakery section... 1/4 of the cake is 120 calories. Tastes okay. They have a strawberry version too, but I like the regular one better.

Yeah, I try to go Friday to Friday. This week, unless I totally go nuts or something, I am pretty much guaranteed a loss since TOM is thankfully on its way out.

Good Sunday Morning to you all ;) .

I am hoping today is going to be a better day, the last 3 days I have been way out of sorts. As some might have read I quite drinking diet pop 5 days ago after a 8 years of drinking at least 7 to 8 a day. (wow sounds like I am starting off in a 12 steps meeting HI I'M JODI.) But just to whine a little bit the Headaches, mood swings, shaking, depression, crying, dry mouth really s---, hopefully they are going to come to an end soon. Thanks to Dawn letting me cry on her shoulder (cell phone) last night then making me laugh histarouly for about 15 mins. (family in the other room thought I lost it) , but it sure made me sleep well. (thanks honey).

I did notice because I am not stopping at every fast food place to grab a diet pop which meant maybe a burger, ice cream ect....so that is a plus. I am drinking more water than I have ever drank which I know has to be a lot better for me. The only down fall is at home I would drink my pop and I would not be hungry now I am feeling my hunger and it makes me want to eat more. I quess I will have to use this as chance to change my bad eating habits.

I'm off to make breakfast for the family. check in later. Jodi

Hi All--

Just a quick pop in for me. Hope everyone is enjoying the week-end!

Jodi--I feel for you! I have watched my dad kick the soda habit and it was not a pretty sight. Hang in there...the worst of it is over by this point, I am sure! reading your post gave me an idea...

Since you often swing through fast food and convenience places to get a soda (and maybe other bad stuff), you will likely be saving a ton of money. Try to figure out how much you spend on diet soda in a month. Include what you spend on it when you go to the grocery store as well. I bet if you add it all up, you will be shocked!

Once you have been off soda for a period of time (maybe a month...or when you feel like you have truly kicked it...no longer feeling ill, no longer craving it, etc.) take that saved money and do something special FOR YOU! A spa day. A girls week-end. Whatever. This is a major struggle for you and you should celebrate your victory when the time comes.

If it helps you any, that is actually how I started my health journey this year. Now, I admit that my soda problem was not nearly as severe as yours, but I gave up (1) all soda; (2) all caffeine; (3) all carbonated beverages; and (4) severely limited the amount of artificial sweetener I use (can't eliminate that entirely since it is in my yogurt and a couple of other places for me).

I really thought that this was going to be a major struggle for me, but fortunately, I was able to get through it pretty easily. And the funny thing was...once all of the crap was out of my system, I was really motivated to start everything else...the running, eating right, the whole nine yards. I think it is really hard for your body to try and get healthy and lose weight when we are constantly pumping chemicals into it.

Hang in there! I really do think that you will feel SO much better once this junk is out of your system and you will also be ready to tackle food and exercise! You are doing GREAT!

Good for you Jodi!! :yay:

Food for yesterday:
L: Chorizo, eggbeaters, onion, cilantro, greenpepper omelette (175), bowl of fiber one (80)
D: 8 oz chicken livers (250) w/ onion (20), 1 sliced potato (100) w/ onion (20), asparagus (20), salad (100)
S: 1 bag ff popcorn (200), 100 cal-pack cupcakes, 1 cup dry special k redberry(110)
Total, 1175. Exercise, none. Water, 64 oz.

And yes, I am anal, and yes, I do weigh and measure everything I eat.

Jodi - GOOD FOR YOU!!!!

I stopped drinking soda years ago and then the company I worked for had it free - bad thing for me! I stopped drinking it when I was prego with my first and now rarely pick it up. Usually as a mixer drink ;)

Hang in there, you are almost through this and then you will feel great. If you don't like water plain have you heard of True Lemon? It is an additive to water of dehydrated lemon. Makes your water taste better if you have a hard time drinking it straight.

Well here is a shock for you all, I live in the Seattle area and we don't usually get snow. Last night we got 4"! It is still here and we lost part of a tree last night because it was so heavy. Went out to look at the tree and heard a pop and watched our neighbors split down the middle. Guess heavy wet snow doesn't mix with cherry blossoms :(

I am off to the spa today to get a facial before my reunion :cutie: Love being pampered! Kids are in the house eating graham crackers and hot chocolate and lovin the snow.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Pixie, hope your reunion goes well! No snow here... we rarely get it. It was a bit cold this weekend (40s) but will be back into the upper 60s/low 70s next week.

Food for today:
L: Salmon (150) w/ eggbeaters(40) over english muffin (100), broccoli(15), apple(60), fiber one&milk (80)
D: 4 Shrimp/Chorizo enchiladas (320), ff refried beans (210)
S: 1 cup special k redberry (110), slim-a-bear (100)
Total, 1185. Exercise, 60 min on arc trainer, 100 crunches on ball. Water, 80 oz.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Happy Saturday all! Quick drive-by for me...I will not be on too much this week-end.

Just got these posts from one of the leaders of my racing team and I thought I would pass it along....good stuff!

Every year about this time when spring is peeking at us through the rain and in some places still snow, but the promise of warmer weather is here, I post this thought.

Today is officially the first day of the rest of your life. The past is done and can't be changed so it's time to put the past to bed and get on with the living. The second chance you wished you had to do things differently is here.

Starting today, cold turkey, you can begin the journey to the new stronger faster leaner and healthier you.

Starting today you can begin eating like you should.

Today, call those friends and family members you have been thinking about calling.

Make peace with that person in the office, or family member, you have been mad at for way to long, offer your hand in peace and forgiveness, and mean it.

Go to your mirror TODAY and tell that beautiful person looking back at you that you are worth the effort.

Today you can choose to be happy, or you can choose to be unhappy, choose wisely, you have to live with your choice.

Decide what is keeping you from being happy and change it.

You have to decide what you need to make the rest of your life they way you want it.

Look at the days of the week….

Monday
Tuesday
Wednesday
Thursday
Friday
Saturday
Sunday

There is no "Someday" in the week, so if you have been waiting for it, stop, it is disguised as today.

We can spend our lives waiting for the right time, when the right time was there all the time.

We all have battles to fight everyday, not the least one is just to make it through each day without screaming. We have family, errands, chores, work.... the demands on our time often seems endless.

But the truth is we can be a better person all around if we are healthier and stronger. Our energy level is higher and we can accomplish more in less time and not be worn out after.

Don't beat yourself up for what you have already done. Today is the day. YOUR day. Make the most of it.

Now who is getting all deep......

There's a good inspiration for ya. Thanks for sharing 3DK.

CHBC - kinda quiet these days. Or did you already know about pineapple juice too?

Pixie - hope your rockin' the reunion.

I got a new camera last night. So, hopefully my next pictures will look better.

and speaking of pictures:
3DK - I'm waiting on bonus room pics
Goof - I'm waiiting on zebra pumps and then and now pictures I think you promised about 5 weeks ago...

I didn't forget.... just been busy... I am actually home for the next seven days in a row... I think that is a new record for me this year.... I will get to it, I promise....

Also - the shoes are giraffe print and while they are awesome to look at, they are not the most comfortable things I have ever worn....:guilty:

Today I taught my 4/(5 in 2 days) year old how to hide in the house from Jahova's Witnesses.

All for now. The sun is shining into my house and magnifing all the dirt/crumbs/and dust bunnies, so I'm cleaning.

Good Sunday Morning to you all ;) .

Jodi - Hang in there... you are almost there..... Leep going....

I just got back from my weekend at the NYS Odyssey of the Mind Tournament. After reading Thursday night's e-mails, I wasn't sure there would be a board to come back to so you can imagine my surprise when I saw you were still here.... The tournament was great, but man did I beat up on my body on Saturday. In the rush of the end of tournament activities, I somehow forgot to eat or drink anything for about 8 hours on Saturday afternoon into the evening and then wondered why my body started to basically shut down. I was tired, had a headache and basically scared anyone who looked at me when they saw how little color I had in my face. A quick snack followed by some milk and then a 'proper' dinner of carrots, celery, cheese and pizza helpe to perk me back up thankfully. So - a word to the wise, please be sure to eat and drink something at regular intervals. Our boddies need the fuel....

Have a great night everyone.... I am off to catch up on some sleep... My weigh in is tomorrow and we will see how much damage I may have done over the weekend....

Sleepy and somewhat malnurished... Goof

I am what ya call an affecianado in the field of this so here is some weight loss/quick tips for making the most out of your bednight snack...

Poprocks....lots of fiz and fun in the mouth...

Altoids...one or 2 will do just fine...10 might start a "fire in the hole" yours and his

Tips...I have plenty....:worship: That's why Grumpy is not so Grumpy anymore...

Poprocks and Altoids...really!?!?! And faux hoohobber...:lmao: :lmao:

Riiight....sure you are....with the whole pineapple, I am sure...:lmao:
Ok, so I told DH about this little trick...and he said, "Hell, I'll drink a gallon a day. Or even better, let's sell the house and buy a pineapple plantation in Hawaii!"

I guess it is fair to say that he is on board! :lmao:

I think your husband and my husband are somehow related. That is something he would say...:lmao:

So with all the crazy chaos going on, and the complaining I've felt like doing (I completely brought this all on myself - I just can't say "no" when someone asks for help!:headache: ) my friend last night says "well, could be worse. You could be pregnant!" :scared1: kinda put things in perspective for me!

I am sorry things are so insane for you right now. i can see how the pregnancy comment could put thing in prespective...:scared1: There is a small and certainly INSANE part of me that would love to have a 3rd. Hang in there and practice saying, "NO!! I won't do it!!!"

Good morning ladies!!! My weight this morning was 218.8! Which means if you count the fact that I was 223 last friday during my absense since I gained from cheating, I am down 4.2 lbs this week!!!! Hot dog!! I also realized yesterday I'm just over a third down with my weight loss goal!!! I'm so stoked!!! I hope everyone is having a good day and I'm not even going to comment about the pineapple situation we have going on here. LOL!

Sarah

:thumbsup2 :cheer2: Way to GO!!! I hope you celebrated your success this weekend.

Ok,, I am back and I am taking back all of my bad news from this morning (well, except the weather...it really is foul out!).

First...I was so stressed about the tax appt. that I literally got sick to my stomach. I totally internalize stress. As unpleasant as that was, I am OCD enough that I got back on the scale and it now registers a loss of 1.2

I don't care if it is not real....toady is weigh-in day and the scale said I was down 1.2 so I am claiming it. Deal with it! :rotfl2:

The big news is that the tax situation is going to work out JUST FINE! :cool1: We basically broke even, which is a huge thrill (since last year we owed a TON and we were expecting to this year as well. After last year's fiasco, we made a bunch of changes and we were worried that it wouldn't be enough, but sure enough, those changes did the trick and now we don't owe! :cheer2: )

Busy afternoon with the kids, so I won't be around too much...but I will check in later this afternoon/evening.

Love you guys--thanks for the support!

And SG/Liz--just got your card today! Thank you SO much. It is a beautiful one and very meaningful as well!

Glad to hear the tax situation wasn't a situation afterall. We are going to have to make some changes ourselves this year once I start the new job. Now you can stop stressing and start planning that WDW trip...;)

Own that loss woman!! You earned it!

On another note I am starting the YMCA (now that song will be stuck in my head) today. My headache is a little less today, I sure would love a diet pop, but I must be strong... I am setting a goal of working out 4 days a week, no excuses. I am up 1 pound this week ( Sorry Dawn ), but on the other hand I am still down 15.5 pounds, so I am happy, but do not want to see the needle inch up anymore.

Hey Dawn you need to show me you trick on editing. Very interesting ;)

Hope all have a great day it is a beautiful one here. Jodi

I am glad that you are still sticking to you no soda plan. I got raging headaches when I went off coffee with the pregnancies. 15.5 pounds is great! I am very happy for you!!

I confided in a coworker today about my home situation (which a few of you know about), and I feel much better about things. I have a plan in place and I think that ultimately this will make me a happier person. I do have a lot of tough times immediately ahead, though, so I am glad that I have my off and online friends to help me through it.

 I am sorry you are struggling right now. Everyone deserves to be happy so whatever it takes to get there...

You know we are all here for you.

Today I taught my 4/(5 in 2 days) year old how to hide in the house from Jahova's Witnesses.

:lmao: :lmao: Nice! That cracks me up!

What is up with the snow in Seattle? I am glad your kiddos are enjoying the rare treat. You are going to be all prettied-up (that's right, I made up that term) for your reunion.

Welcome home, Goof! I hope you get some rest and much needed nutrition before your next adventure.

Well, my baby turns 2 today. It is hard to believe how fast time is passing. Where did my tiny little baby go?!? I am getting too old too fast.

Good Morning ladies and gent... I hope this morning finds everyone well! TOM came into town this morning :( Didn't make me gain or anything (yet)... Just not what I wanted to deal with on a Monday with 6.5 hours of sleep... lol... DH starts night shift tonight so I'm kinda emotional about that... As of right now we are still going to New Mexico this weekend but we'll see where we are come Friday night... My mom is still doing really well on her diet and working out... We are going to the gym tonight... She's keeping my butt in check... lol!! Anywho when do we get to see Weigh In results??? Or did I miss them???

Have a magical day!
Sarah

Happy Monday everyone!

Ok, folks are slow in posting this morning...hope that doesn't mean everyone was bad over the week-end!

A Happy Birthday Shout-out to DWD's 5 year old daughter and BtoB's 2 year old little man! :goodvibes Yes, time goes way way way too fast when it comes to the kiddos growing up. DH and I have put a ban on getting older in our house. No one is allowed to age. :rotfl2:

Welcome home, Goof! Glad you will be around all week! :goodvibes Good lcuk at JC today. Plan your exercise for the day so that you will be ready to do it this evening when the time comes.

DAWN--we need week 4 results! Here's hoping the Boarders take all!

Kat--wake-up. I know it is only 11:15, but really....:rotfl2:

Week-end here was great...DH and I have been getting along phenomenally well, so that is really wonderful. And it has nothing to do with pineapples! :rotfl2:

I made an appointment with a fitness nutritionist for tomorrow. I have lost 3 pounds in 8 weeks...and I am eating really well and working out like mad, so clearly I am doing something wrong. I am thinking I am not eating balanced enough, though I always get in 5 servings of fruits and veggies everyday and it seems to me that I am getting enough protein, but....:confused3 He is someone I know really well and trust. His credentials are amazing (former trainer and nutrition adviser for the US Olympic Team), and he is going to give me a food plan that it is geared to my level of fitness, etc. so we'll see how it goes.

Have a great day! :goodvibes

I have been awake since 8:30! I got here around 9:45 but no-one had posted yet and I didn't want to be post #1 on the day...

Funny, must be something in the air because mine is being SUPER nice to me for some reason.

I think the nutritionist is a great idea.

Hi guys! I'm gonna be crazy busy this week with the H & G show. So, I probably won't be able to post much.

I'll be watching tho.:rolleyes1

Goof - sorry about the exotic animal mixup. I literally have lost my mind. (But I'm sure I won't forget to eat. ha)

3DK - man you are good with the details. I'm trying to shoot out of here early to decorate a princess castle "just like on the cover." Now, I'm just a newbie at cake decorating, but heaven help me if I don't measure up to the -cake on the cover.

Later

Thanks for all the kind and incouraging words I am still going pop free (still having some symptoms, but better). I even went to a movie, now that was a real challenge I love my popcorn with a large diet pop, but I bought a bottle water. Not quite the same, but the movie was fantastic, I had not heard of it, The name was The Other Boleyn Girl.
If you have a chance I would recommend seeing it. When I was done with the movie went to get groceries stalked up on fruit & veggies, then came home.

Have you ever had one of those I hope my kids are ok, because something does not feel right moments. I did and I was worry about my girls they were off 4-wheeling with a group of friends. Well it wasn't the girls it was my 20 year son who walked in about 15 min's after I got home holding his wrist, he says mom I think I broke it. :scared: Of course being mom I ran down the steps and before I could get to him I see a huge lump on the top of his wrist. Yep it sure looks like it I told him, it did not look pretty. I had to ask him why did you drive 15 min's away from town to come home when you could have just went 2 blocks to the doctors office from where you fell. He said I thought you would want to come with and it really hurts. Bless his heart he still needs his mom  . So we took off and went in and it is broke, they put a starter cast and gave him pain pills and we are going to see the Orthipedic surgent at 1:30 today. They will check it out to see if he needs surgery and then put a different cast on. He is really worried because he was suppost to take a test at college this morning in math, I told him I think we can send a doctors note and explain why he was not there, I don't know it worked in high school not sure about college:confused3 . Now I am worried because we are suppose to get 5 to 7 inches of snow and the worst is around the time we are suppose to be there. We have to go about 30 mins away and on the main highways which I am sure are going to be hell to drive on. I am not to worried about my ability to drive in this weather I do it for a living (plowing), its the other drivers that are not to comfortable with it. Then I will have to come back and go out and plow the rest of the evening. Ok it is April in the morning I am done with the snow.:sad2:

Happy Birthday wishes to B2B's son and DWD's daughter they do grow fast, so just love and enjoy every minute of their little lives.

Sarah it's wonderful you and your mom are going to the gym, keep up the great job. It is fun to have a partner the pain is still there but the time goes bye faster, atleast I think so:)

Everyone else have a great day, I will check in later.

Oh ya thanks for letting me ramble on. I needed it. ;)

Hi Erika - keep us posted on the results from your nutritionist.... I suspect you may not be eating enough given your goddess like exercise schedule.... I am heading to my swim class to night if it kills me. I need to de-stress after this weekend and the pool should help me do that....

I needed it. ;)

Jodi - sorry to hear about your son's wrist... If it makes you feel any better, I am 36 and still want a hug from my mom when I am sick or hurt... No matter how old we get, there is nothing quite like a hug from your mom or dad when you are feeling crappy...

I am playing catch up today at work since I was out on Friday and have about 3 solid inches of paperwork on my desk that I am balancing my keyboard on to type this... On top of that it is my TOM, so I am hoping that I am not retaining too much water at the moment. I don't think I am given how dehydrated I was over the weekend, but you never know...

I'll let you all know how I made out at JC after I get home from swimming...

No matter how old we get, there is nothing quite like a hug from your mom or dad when you are feeling crappy... I love when they come to me for anything. I would have drove to WI to get him, and all my children know that about me, sometimes they might wish I wasn't so protective, but that's me....

Boy you girls are almost like sisters, it seems like you all get your friendly TOM around the same time. I'm kinda of lucky I had a hysteromy at 34 so no TOM for me. Well not the icky part just the symtoms, like I said kinda of lucky.:)

I'll let you all know how I made out at JC after I get home from swimming...
