In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate, VOL 7! Princesses? Nope, just us Goddesses!

Paula - LOVE the scale perspective. Awesome to read.

OMG!!!! I am literally so high right now! A Zhu Zhu high!! (Speaking of which, Erika, you still owe us story numero dos.)

Here's my story.

Last night I headed to the Budget board and a woman has posted she got a Zhu zhu at CVS. Of all the places. So I woke up at 7am and called the one close to my house.

I'm nervous as I ask - "Do you have Zhu Zhu's there"

Steve (to someone else) "Do we have Zhu Zhu's?"

Steve (to me) "Yeah, we got em."

Me (reverently) "Ok"

I slam down the phone and bust into the bathroom. Slam toothpaste on my brush and Bob is watching me while brushing his teeth. I explain, "CVS has Zhu Zhu's" Throw on my clothes and start driving to town. About a 5 minute drive and I'm thinking about Lisa and how anxious she was. I scream bloody murder. I'm alone. I can do that.

I start praying to Jesus. Please let there be some Zhu Zhu stuff left. Please. Then I realize - I'm PRAYING FOR ZHU ZHUs! :sad2:SO I start back tracking. Jesus, I'm sorry, if you don't want me to have more zhu zhu's then fine, I will accept that. I'm grateful for the one Lisa found.

I get there. Park and briskly walk in trying not to trip. I scan the store for help and hustle up to the first fellow I see. "I called about Zhu Zhu's?" He holds his arm out. He is LITERALLY taking them out of the box and stocking the shelf.

I start running my mouth.
"OMG.

I've been looking every where for these.

I need a cart.

Do you have grandkids? If you do, you better call your wife?

Is there a limit?

Where is the name.

There are boy Zhu Zhus and girl Zhu Zhus.

OMG!

OMG!

OMG!"

I may have (ok I did) jumped in the air a few times.

He is dumbfounded. And says to me "Well now that we've established your crazy." And I am laughing my butt off.

I buy cars and wheels and hampsters for all the mothers I know are looking for them. Chunk has a girlfriend. Chunk has a girlfriend.

I'm now feeling greedy and don't want the next mom to see my cart. Cause I'd be pissed if I saw one person buying that much, but I'm NOT selling them for a profit, I legitimatly know people who are looking for them.

So I check out. While I was checking out, another mom frantically ran in and he directed her to the right area. A dad in line behind me starts to pay attention. He calles his wife. Apparently they need Zhu's too. He just got TONS of browine points. Just think if he'd have gone home and told his wife -
"some crazy ladies were buying zhu zhus."

The CVS employee is amused at me and I said to him "You're going to tell people about me, aren't you?"

He replied "All day long."

SO - in closing, call off the zhu zhu hunt for me. I have everything I want!

Lisa - I am here for you...

To put it simply, the scale simply a tool that measures your weight at a given moment in time - that's it... Come back in an hour and it will likely tell you something different.

It does not define your life, your goals, your successes or your failures. It just gives you a number that we sometimes put way too much emphasis on.

For example, I hopped on the scale this morning and am up about a pound and a half, but I am not in the least bit depressed about it. I cooked a huge meal yesterday and enjoyed the fruits of my labor, but I considered the day a success because I stuck to my plan of limited 'tasting' while cooking and limited starchy foods being put on my plate besides some stuffing and some butternut squash. I have a plan to get right back on my regular eating plan today, drink lots of water and get my exercise in so that the pound and a half is not a permanent guest in my body. I prefer that it is kind of like the family that comes into town for a day or two and then leaves.

So - don't let the scale own you. Focus on the good choices you made this week and resolve to do more of that this week and you will be good. We beat ourselves up over so many things, do you really want to beat yourself up because your body is holding onto more water this week or the fact that you weighed yourself after you downed a quart / liter of water twenty minutes earlier? Seriously, the scale can read those minute little things but give your body an hour and that water is gone and so is the actual weight of the water. I read somewhere that the body can hold a few pounds of 'waste' in the intestines at any given time. That can skew the results too. (I know gross right?)

So I say again, the scale is a tool to measure the weight of something at that given time. That's it.

Judge your success on how you feel - not about the number, but how your body feels in general. That will give you a truer picture of where you are every time.

Hope this helps...

Thanks so much Paula. It really helps. I don't know if I'll ever get there but you realy help so thank you.

On the bold - it is the truth - when some BL person has a huge gain and has no idea I'm always trying to convince them that sometimes food sits and that's what it is.

I'm excited to try a two week weigh in after BL and see if that helps my unhealthy thoughts. I'm hoping.

Thank you so much Paula. It means so much to me.

Birthday Girl - could you PM me a contact telephone # for the FedEX forms please and thank you.

Lyz - once I get that from Erika - Chunk will be on a town FedEX run. My gut says send me that secondary address that you mentioned in case that "box" does not exist here. I don't know why I'm talking in code. :lmao::rotfl: Do send me your parents address - my gut thinks it's best.

I will pm it. Right now.

If I fail in town with our different system - Chunks will travel down to Toronto again and go straight to the Fed EX depot - I will in that area on Tuesday.

Chunk's intinerary - too funny.

I push their noses every night. :lmao: Glad they are in the boxes or I might wake up and find them attacked.

Do keep my up to date on the accessories. Our ToysRUs are still out from their first run but are expecting more.

You know, this group effort has been so fun to me. I will definately post a Christmas morning pic of her opening them. Right now, I keep telling her I can't find them anywhere. She is going to be blown away.

He is dumbfounded. And says to me "Well now that we've established your crazy." And I am laughing my butt off.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Now you're going to be famous Lyz. Yes, the CVS employees will be talking about you for years to come. Next year when the "must have" toy hits the shelves they'll all say "well, that was NOTHING compared to the year of the Zhu-Zhu".

Seriously -so glad you struck Zhu-Zhu gold! My family? Heck. I was the only one at the Thanksgiving table who even knew what a Zhu-Zhu was!

It's like it was raining Zhu Zhus. :lmao::rotfl:

Fantastic Lyz!!! Fantastic!!!

I will tell Chunk the first that he has a mate a see if he makes any sounds. :lmao:

I read too quickly. Did you get a car? I so want the car?

So happy. :goodvibes

:lmao: So now you know. No one knows how fast and furious the wheels are turning when you know they're there but they might be gone after all this time.

Should I run there? Should I wait for the next streetcar? Streetcar versus walking - what's the ratio? Should I just hail a taxi? Should I stop to be sick to my stomach?

I had to force myself to breathe. :rotfl:

Paula I've been thinking (shush Cutie!!;):lmao:). With the scale I've had two huge issues my whole life.

1) Not being able to except my "normal" weight which is now my goal weight. Not being able to accept that I will always read larger than I am and that I will be off charts.

AND

2) Not being able to give gains just an "okay - onward" feel. I feel too much on a gain. They make me want to give up and they cross out all the good for me. Yes, I know - ridiculous thought process because a journey comes with gains.

So really - look at this - #1 has been conquered - absolutely conquered. So if #2 never gets there well so be it. I can't overcome and be everything. And it will iimprove with your guidance so that should be enough.

Just catching up and will comment to all in a bit.

A GREAT day overall.

It started with a 7:30am voice mail from Lyz! She got Zhu Zhu accessories for Kel! The car and the wheel! And let me tell you, that voice mail was freaking HI LAR IOUS. I don't know if she was still in CVS when she was calling me, but her tone of voice was all hushed and secretive and conspiratorial. SO funny! And so exciting! Now Kel as the Canadian Zhu Zhu (who Jeff and I have begun calling Jean-Claude), the car and wheel from Ohio! OMG, it has been a riot. And like Lyz, I have had SO MUCH FUN with this whole group effort over these rodents! And yes, I still owe Chapter 2.

Then it was time to go cut down the tree. It was raining (pouring!) here all day, but we knew that first thing in the morning it would only be a light mist, so we went then. Brought it into the house, got it set in the stand, and the just let it sit for the day so that the boughs relax.

Then it was off to brunch with the in-laws. Jeff's brother and his family. It was actually quite nice. We were there well into the afternoon. Home for a quick change, then out to dinner, the 5 of us. Our favorite place (Liz, our version of the Downtown).

Back home and it was time for our annual Christmas traditions. Fire in the fireplace, eggnog (spiked with rum for me and J, natch :goodvibes), the kids and I decorate the tree while J is making the Chex Mix. Our house is open concept, so even though he was in the kitchen and we were in the living room, it is all open so we were all together. Singing Christmas carols--LOUDLY--so much fun. Pics to follow.

The fun and frivolity continued today. Not a 2nd Thanksgiving per se, but a family gathering with Stephen's family at our house tonight. More good food, good wine, good company.

Of course, now I feel like a bloated blimp. :headache: Just too much of everything (except moderation :rolleyes1) in the past 2 days. Tomorrow has to be "on". Has to. Not an option any longer.

Erika - sounds like a nice way to spend your birthday! Even the rain. I'll take rain. It could be worse....the look on Seth's face tonight when the weatherman said that parts of Vermont could get up to 2 feet of snow from this storm we're having. :scared1:

perhaps a random question....but Lyz - did you fix your "E" key?

perhaps a random question....but Lyz - did you fix your "E" key?

:rotfl: AS a matter of fact, I haven't gotten it fixed yet. I can't live without my laptop, but it is turning into a major pain!! For reals.

EriKa - sounds like a great birthday. Funny that Jeff wanted to take down the Target bullies with you.

Nancy - are you enjoying your visit with Seth?

Ok, just wrapping up at the office. Had to get an invoice done for the A.M. so I can sleep in.

Later all.

Ok, here are some pics...(Sorry, taken with my iPhone since I still haven't replaced the camera that was stolen out of the bathroom at Disney)

Picking out and cutting down the tree...

EriKa - love the decorations. Holy Poinsetta Batman! What did you do, go to the green house and order a pallet?!?!

I wish I could decorate now. We only have 3 weeks at home before Christmas. Because one will be in Florida :woohoo:. I don't think I can get away with decorations till maybe Thursday.

Your iphone takes good pictures.

YES!!!! Thus the screaming bloody murder!

E, Decorations are lovely. And it looks so... Maine. Even down to the rubber boots.

We are unlikely to put up decorations. We didn't last year, either. With D's crazy holiday schedule, and no-one to really see them but us (who are both rather bah-humbug)...

Knocked out in-laws' xmas present today. Like a month early!! Plus broke my no-BF shopping rule. We only did HHGregg and a brief (and scary) Target outing, though, and not until about 3PM.

Oh, did I mention that we glued the hot tub back together and the electronic parts all still work? There is still a leak that needs to be fixed, but it looks like we will only have to buy a few more PVC/plumbing type parts and not any $$ electronic stuff.

My parents are coming Sun night to help us wire up the house Mon/Tues. Fun fun. I got a bunch of free wire from work, though.

Holy Poinsetta Batman! What did you do, go to the green house and order a pallet?!?!

Um, yes? I order them ahead of time. 15. 10 red, 5 white. And if I get them the day before Thanksgiving, they are half off. Seriously, I spent a whopping total of $22 on those suckers. And they go SO FAR in terms of decorating a house. Of course, the upkeep is PITA. They have to be watered every other day.

E, Decorations are lovely. And it looks so... Maine. Even down to the rubber boots.

It IS so Maine, isn't it? I love Christmas in New England, particularly Maine. The tree farm that is by our house supplies a lot of the Balsam Firs that LL Bean sells in the catalog. And the Bean boots? Of course! We all have them. (It's a Maine thing. Everyone has multiple pairs. It is a necessity. I am willing to bet that Nancy has more than her share of them as well, what with the farm and all.) And I only thought about it after the fact, as I was posting the pics, that I should have made sure everyone was wearing their Bean boots because it would have made such a great photo.

So, to recap, shopping...done. Tree...done. House decorating...done. This week-end I am hoping to order my Christmas cards, as that is next on the list. Then, the only thing left to do will be wrapping! And honestly, as much as I love the holidays, that is my least favorite thing. It takes HOURS. I usually make sure that I have a couple of movies lined up so that I can just make a night out of it.

Good Afternoon Lovely People!

I still haven't got my photos from Florida on the computer - I can't find my cable! I have a feeling its at my mums so I should be able to get a mini trip report up in the morning!

Erika - Your Christmas decorations are beautiful! Very festive and they've made me want to put mine up!

Everyone - Hi :flower3:

Im not having the greatest day foodwise, but Im hoping to salvage it by having a healthy dinner instead of thinking 'oh well, ive had a bad day so I may as well have a rubbish dinner'

The weather here is awful, really rainy and cold so Im not doing as much walking as I would like, and as much as I love the Gym I like to try and vary workouts buy hey ho, at least Im doing something!
