In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate, VOL 7! Princesses? Nope, just us Goddesses!

I think I am of the living again. I'm down 3 lbs since the weekend, lol. Not expecting that to remain though. So Saturday afternoon, I was able to stretch out my back soreness. Back to the gym tomorrow I hope.

I made a large green salad, and a pasta dish.

Boiled 2 oz of smart taste rotini pasta (180 cals). Meanwhile, chopped half a white onion, some green pepper, and 3 large mushrooms, and added to a non-stick pan. Pan-fried w/ cooking spray, garlic salt and pepper for a few min, and added 1 sliced habanero and monterey jack chicken sausage (120 cals) and cooked until tender. Added drained pasta to the pan, 1 tbsp fat free half&half (20 cals), about 1/4 cup water, 1 tbsp parm cheese (20 cals), and about 1/2 oz shredded 75% light sharp cheddar (30 cals). Stirred until melted and blended. 380 cals or so and yummmy. :)

glad to hear you are on the mend EE!

YUM!

I have eaten healthy (so far) and stayed within my points range (again, so far...) drank *most* of my water (there's still time) BUT I did cave and have a very, very small glass of red wine. :headache:

E, calm down. I'm not running in all of that. I'm standing and wandering aimlessly in all of that. At 25 I run in tights, gloves, earband, long sleeve tee and a vest. If the wind is bad I may keep the extra sweats until my legs get good and warm. Everything else is a donation.

I don't mind running in the cold, but waiting outside for an hour and a half calls for lots sheddables. I did get some fleece and will soon post a pic of my custom, disposable hood scarf.

For Christmas and birthday I got DGF a Bodybugg. She loves it and has bonded with the treadmill like never before. The reinforcement of the calories burned reading is really affecting her. She's not as thrilled with their food logging and continues to waffle between fitday and sparkpeople.

Headed upstairs to the sewing machine.

Yum, love when Kat shares recipes. Nancy, if I drive, I will bring a bottle of soft red from a local vineyard.

hey gang..

you all have been busy today...

sounds like those who have been ill are on the mend - yeah!

sounds like folks are recommitting (including me) - yeah!

and it sounds like Ronda is getting ready to totally rock the race on Saturday!!!!

All in all a good day.

Oh and since Nancy mentioned it - it is Monday which means JC night for me. Lost .2 pounds. It is not much, but it is a start right?

OK off to catch up on some e-mails - be back later.

Paula--WORD on the loss. You LOST during the holidays! :cool1:

Ronda--phew! Ok. I was wigging out. Talk to me about the BodyBugg. I have been intrigued for a while because I KNOW that seeing my calories out will be a huge motivator for me. Like, I'll set a burn number for the day and won't rest until I get there. (I'm an over-achiever, for those who haven't figured it out.)

But I am wondering about its accuracy? Anyone? And what is the problem with the food input?

I don't know what the food log rap is. I'll ask. I know I get aggravated with fitday and resort to myfitnesspal to get counts for some items. I've been a bad logger lately and don't have any ready examples. I've just sat before the screen dumbfounded that I can't find X.

Okay, hood sewn.

Well folks I'm off to the opera. Carmen.

If I make it through airport security that is! Maybe I'll get lucky and get patted down.:goodvibes:lmao:;)

:yay: Lisa came out to play. Stop hiding on us Lisa! I miss you :flower3:

Another cold morning here in paradise  At least I don't live in up-state NY. They showed a town on the Today show where it's snowed for 9 days straight and they've got 54" from it

Today's workout: strengthen and stretch. Then I think I'm going to attack this pile of papers on my desk! :upsidedow

Argh! 54"! We've had 6 inches fall here overnight and counting and the whole country has come to a stand still! In our defence though, we don't generally get a lot of snow so 6" to us is a LOT of snow! :rotfl:

Im having a nice relaxing snow day off work! Watching the cricket, wishing it was as warm here as it is in South Africa where England are playing and generally doing not much! I have got my pilates for dummies dvd ready for tonight, and tonights dinner is going to be vegetable stir fry and noodles!

Ronda - Love the photo!

Hope everyone is having a great day :cool2:

My first weigh-in yesterday since I started this new plan for myself....lost .2 lbs lol. I guess it is something! I know that all the eating and drinking over the new year's holiday definitely had something to do with that.

Still going this week. This week my goals are no soda, 2 bottles of water a day, and make sure I exercise at least once this week for 30 mins. Still taking it easy to get myself in the right mindset, but for me, it's harder than it may seem. I'm giving myself one day off a week right now so I don't feel completely pressured, but eventually, have to cut the ties. Mondays at bible study are hard, since everyone around me is drinking soda!!!!:scared1:

Hope everyone's morning is going well.

Good Morning Everyone.
(peeking from behind the self - inflicted shame curtain)

I need to go back and re-read everything from Dec 16th on and vow it can be done by Friday.

Trip was good. Holidays were the worst ever. Not even exagerating an ounce.

Flicked it now and need to move on.

Treyner has been home - leaves Thursday for Anderson and it has been a whirlwind of busy moving him and getting all the stuff transfered including financial aid, health forms, transcripts etc.

Carsyn is being an angel and her grades are great. Baylor had a good time in Colorado and has emotionally grown up a lot.

I have not gained or lost.

I need to head back to my water aerobics and commit to sparkpeople.

Nothing new there but need to finally get this switch flipped for good not part time. I know what I need to do - just need to do it. Mine to change and nobody elses.

You know you are avoiding the mirror when you avoid a flippin website that does nothing but support your weight loss efforts. True sign there was no effort!

Hope you all had a great Holiday season and will respond after I get caught up.

Can't wait to see all of your success stories :cool1: while I have been AWOL!:headache:

Mondays at bible study are hard, since everyone around me is drinking soda!!!!:scared1:

I gave up soda last February. I used to drink 1 can of Fresca every day (ah. my beloved Fresca. Good ol' essance of wood rosin :crazy2:) I won't lie. It was really hard, especially the first 2 weeks. After about a month I figured I would *treat* myself to just one. I opened the can, took a sip and nearly gagged. Now I can't even look at the stuff. It's amazing how your body adjusts to all those chemicals & artifical ingredients that we subject it to every day - and once they are purged from the system, it's equally amazing how our body naturally REJECTS them as well.

Hang in there. It's not going to be easy, but it is so worth it.

WOW, I am having an impossible time getting on the DIS these day. Be back later when I can post properly!

Sorry to hear your holidays didn't go so well, but you're right, nothing to do but move on. I know what you mean about the switch and avoiding the website...I've done/do the same thing. It's frustrating to be super motivated one minute, and not at all the next. You can do it. Hang in there.

I had quit drinking soda completely for about 4 months the first time I did weight watchers (seriously? It's gotten to the point that I have to NUMBER my attempts. UGH.) and when I had one afterwards, it was so sickening sweet that I could barely choke it down, however...slowly but surely it worked it's way back into my life and now I'm used to having a couple cans at bible study, and a few throughout the week. School is the worst. The vending machines OY the vending machines. So easy to get a soda. It's...right....there....enough to make me go mad :headache: I'm hoping I can keep up not having any before I go back to school on the 19th, and hopefully if I can not have any until then, the craving won't be so bad when I walk past all those vending machines.

I was just thinking about what you were saying though...about the junk we put in our bodies, and how they will reject it once it's flushed out. I used to be a fast food JUNKIE. I mean bad. That's about all I ate. And I stopped when I did weight watchers the first time and I'm proud to say I don't eat much of it at all anymore. If I do, it's something like a salad or wrap, and the only sandwiches I'll get are at Arby's. No burgers for me. And when I do eat something else, I feel like crap!!!
