In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate... Vol. 6: Goddesses just want to have fun

I just realized a post Ion Saturday never went through! I hate that!

E - yes I am in.

So yesterday for my birthday I did some not exciting things and yet they felt good.

I mowed the front lawn. Yes, I have not mowed in I could not tell you how long. Kids did it. I need to do it.

Then took Ace to the lake, on a walk and did laundry and dishes and made my WW meals. I was really proud of myself.

Made mini pizzas for lunch w/ english muffins and for sdinner made nachos w/ refried beans and black beans. Paying attention to those filling foods is noticeably different in hunger than my usual carb riddled self.

Dan and I went to the race track Saturday night and had a blast.

I need to head out and pick up Baylor from the airport - I miss him and with him and Treyner gone - the house was too quiet for such a short transition time.

Nancy - I so get hoping that he has the confidence in himself. Treyner was big talking until he got there and though he did not back peddle, his confidence was tested - you could just tell. I don't get to see Treyner till October I think so it will not be fun. It has been 2 weeks and although we talk all the time, I find myself still tearing up when I see his room, fold his clothes he forgot and even did not get so angry when I found a nightmare in the back of the Mustang because he had left food in Tupp containers that have been back there since mid July!:scared1:

I need to figure out what posted and write later so I do not repeat myself!

Have a great day and I will check in with you later!:3dglasses

Work is kicking my butt today.... thinking of you all and will check in after JC and the gym tonight.

Nancy - yeah for sticking to your plan!!!! I know how much that means to you right now.

JC was all right. I was doing so well this week until I went to camp. I am not sure what it is, but there is something about going there where my mind says "please - eat crap all day... its ok" I so need to break myself of that because I was a little over a pound down on Saturday before I went and only lost .2 pounds this week. So - no new clippie for me yet... I am feeling myself get a bit out of control food wise so I need to rein it in and start journaling again.

I did get 35 minutes of spinning in tonight with some intervals. If the calorie thingy on the spin bike is to be believed (and I am skeptical because I don't have the heart rate monitor yet - hoping to get one for a birthday present) I burned off about 350 calories during that 35 minute session. It just doesn't seem possible to me, but there it is.

I am off to bed. I have an early morning meeting with some contractors tomorrow so I have to be at work by 7:30 so I have to leave here by 6:45. :scared1: Did I mention how much this new project is kicking my butt? One benefit though - when we move offices, I get the corner office with the view of downtown Albany. No more desk under the stairs for me. Goodbye Harriett Potter.... :rotfl:

Have a great night everyone. I'll catch you on the flipside.

Paula, I am excited that you will no longer be Harriett Potter! How on Earth will you work with space?

I know. I have been thinking about that and I have no idea what to do with all of that space. Knowing me, I'll end up spending most of my time in the outer office with the rest of the folks.

OK - off to a meeting.

Good Morning People!!!! Time to get up...:yay:

:headache: so, so close! How does your week look this week? Any special events that you need to plan for?

I do have the heart rate monitor - but I still don't take the "calories burned" as being "fact". More, I use the numbers as a basis for comparison for my various workouts.

Did that just make sense? :confused3

:dance3:Paula gets a room with view! Finally!!!

I'm really feeling like my head is in the game this morning :thumbsup2 Heading out for a nice bike ride in just a few minutes. Then some back-to-school shopping later today with Nate & Becca. woo. Feel my excitement

I am frusterated beyond frusterated - typed up my food log from yesterday in great detail and then - post went nowhere again.

Long story short - went to a Mongolian BBQ yesterday with Baylor after the airport and now I know after looking up points - what not to eat next time -

I am probably 10 points over for yesterday - good news is I went back to face my demons in the ponts chart - but I am moving on and tracking everything today!

Walked 45 minutes at the Mall of America with Baylor yesterday - all walking and today plan on walking again.

Carsyn has a soccer pot luck banquet today and I have been awarded dessert to bring so I am making my famous Pecan Pie Bars. Alloted for a small square in my meal plan and will eat at home before I go so I am not ravinging the mayo filled pasta salads there.

Trying to not walk into a meal again without a plan!

Hope all is well with you all! Thanks for the birthday wishes!:lovestruc

Here it is for Lyz and Nancy. The other evil eaters of this thread!;)

Pecan Pie Bars

Crust
3 cups of flour
6 Tbsp. sugar
3/4 cup butter - softened
3/4 tsp. salt

Pre Heat oven to 350 - grease jelly roll pan.

Mix ingredients till crumbly and press in pan - bake 20 minutes - or until golden brown

Filling
4 eggs - slightly beaten
1 1/2 cups Dark Karo Syrup
1 1/2 cups of sugar
3 Tbsp. butter - melted
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 cups chopped pecans

Mix everything but pecans - then add pecans as last ingredient - stir. -
Pour over baked crust - bake another 25-40 minutes - until set.

Yes that last directions seem crazy but you need to watch it the last few mintes. When we made them today - 25 minutes not enough, but 30 minutes a minute too long! My mom's oven needed 35 minutes.

Enjoy!
*** okay - tried my piece and so did Dan. We both think that the first time we made it was better and we had altered the ingredients to 50% dark and 50% light Karo. We did not have enough dark at the time. It seemed to taste not so sweet but very good.

This way a small piece is def. the sweet tooth limit. (maybe that is a good thing.) - so try it and let me know which way you prefer!
If anyone wants a killer Banana bread rec. - I can get that out as well. Sour cream in it and no oil. Dan and I both think it is the best we have ever had. Same cookbook as bars and I got it at the Biltmore this summer from a local author who collects friends/family recipe's and prints them.

Should I be posting them or sending them via pm BTW - I do not want to sabatoge anyone but since 2 wanted it - decided to be quick.

Let me know!

I did something very stupid last night. I left my purse on campus and it's gone. I have my debit card since it was in my back pocket, but I have lost alot. I will never ever allow anybody to coerce me into carrying a %U&@ing purse anymore.

Oh no.... how awful!

Good Morning...

Time to get up everyone... (hey if I have to be at work this early, you all have to be up).

Feeling a bit blah this week. No motivation to do anything. I am still going to the gym, but my heart isn't in it and all I can think about is a huge greasy pizza. Ugh... :confused3

Oh no! I hope you didn't lose anything really important!

Oh, I'm up alright. Been very busy already this morning. Have 2 "little people" visiting here for a few days - Stephen's cousin's kids (5 & 7)...such great kids, but it throws off my schedule, so my workouts for the next few days are going to be wonky.

Just as I was drifting off to sleep last night I realized I hadn't reported on my day yesterday. So - a little late, but here it is.

Water - check
Alcohol - none (but boy oh boy was I tempted!)
Exercise - a *huge* check - 19.5 mile hill-to-kill-you ride
food - 28 points.

I've only had 2 days of "clean eating" and I'm already starting to feel worlds better - now...I'm just trying to focus so that the "feeling good" motivates and inspires me to press forward, rather than allowing me to backslide by celebrating my success. :upsidedow

Paula - about that pizza. Our grocery store sells pre-made refrigerated pizza dough in the bakery section - even whole wheat! :woohoo: What if you make your own pizza with lowfat cheese and tons of fresh veggies...maybe even some turkey pepperoni? Would that satisfy your craving? :confused3

Our grocery store has the same thing (including the whole wheat). I may have to try that before I go running to my local pizzaria... I am blaming the Food Network since I was watching a show all about pizza a few nights ago and can't get it out of my head. Why can't I be obsessed with something simple like eggplant? :rotfl:

I wll re-write later - my luck with posts is 0 and I am goibng to be late if I do not head out now!

If I could impose a self-kicking smiley I would - I hit something on accident and it is all gone! :headache:

Morning! LONG night with Kel, but we are on the other side. Updates coming!
