In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate... Vol. 6: Goddesses just want to have fun

I wll re-write later - my luck with posts is 0 and I am goibng to be late if I do not head out now!

If I could impose a self-kicking smiley I would - I hit something on accident and it is all gone! :headache:

I was having issues a couple of weeks ago - really, really annoying. I'd post and *poof* off into cyberspace it would go, never to be seen again. Whatever the problem was, it seems to have resovled itself, thankfully

Morning! LONG night with Kel, but we are on the other side. Updates coming!

Hope the lil' trooper is doing well :flower3:

Watching Dora the Explorer. Oh, the things I miss having older kids

Dawn - thanks for the recipe. Sounds so good.

Amiee - ugh! I feel so horrible for you! My purse holds my life!

E - how is Kel?

My girls went to school today. I can't tell you the peace that has come over me. I'm not one of those mothers who enjoys mothering. I love my children, but I just want to shop for them and have them be perfect and quiet. This has been a L.O.N.G. summer.

Hey all!

Work is good. Feeling overwhelmed with all the information being thrown at us but good. Delena is doing good at preschool. She has some tears at drop off but never cries for more than a few minutes.

Eating has been good this week because I have been back at work. My runs are off mainly because I am still figuring out how best to schedule them. I had been planning to do them after work, but I am so tired when I get home. It may be better for me to get up early to do them. And next week I may work second shift, so I will definitely do them in the morning then. I did get a wog in last night and core this morning so that's good.

there is a new session of WW starting next week at work. I am thinking about joining to hopefully kick these last 20 pounds off me permanently!

I hope to get back on here more once I get settled in at work.

Amy

Hi everyone...

Well tonight has been kind of crappy. Went to dinner with my parents and my sister and managed to put away and entire serving of french fries...:confused3

Then I was off to the gym to spin and was half way there when I realized that I left my ipod home. So, back I went. Get on the bike, am about a 1/3 - 1/2 way through my interval workout and the screen cuts out on the bike and I am back at the start screen. Needless to say, I am all out of whack. Managed another 20 minutes so I think I got a full 35 minutes in, but who knows. At that point, I was pissed, tired and just wanted to get the heck out of there.

So I am going to pull the covers over my head and hope that Thursday is a better day...

Hope you all are doing well...

Here's hoping the predictable schedule comes soon! And WW right at work? How totally convenient! :thumbsup2

 I so hate it when I have days like that. And I've had more than my share in the last few months. :sad2: Don't let it get inside your head! One day, one speed bump on the road of life. Just flip it the middle finger and move on!

I, on the other hand, am FINALLY back "on". Finally. My workouts this week are a bit sketchy - but that's because I have some small people staying at my house for a few days. No, not like "Little People, Big World" small people.... small as in children! Have 2 extras here for a few days. Best kids ever. EVER. But just makes my schedule wonky.

So - for today -

Water- check
Alcohol - none
food- 29 points (kinda on the high side for me)
exercise - nothing formal. :rolleyes1 but as long as my food is on, I'm not overly concerned about missing a workout or two right now!

Off to sleep for me - it's up and out early for Freshman orientation tomorrow with Becca. Like I want to do that. 3rd kid - why should I go sit at the high school listening to their speil? OY.

Oh, come on now. Really????

Let's go people! Up and at 'em. It's a new day full of hope and promise!
(do I sound like a Hallmark card? :rotfl2:)

Weather here today is the best it's been all summer. Simply perfect. Wish I coulda gone for a bike ride, but I had freshman orientation this morning with Becca, and the 2 "littles" are here until tomorrow...so no-go on that deal. But I'm totally committed to my food plan.

Lyz - how'd the girls like their first day of school? Is it high school for you this year??

*peeks head in*

Reading, but haven't had much to say.

Things are looking way up on the job front but nothing definite yet.

I have been pretty awful, eating/exercise-wise, but so far this week have been doing fairly well.

This weekend I have a hockey tournament and a 5K. 8:30PM game on Fri night, 8AM and 5:45PM games on Sat, and 8:30AM 5K on Sunday, with a possible 11:30AM championship game (possible, but unlikely).

I think I will probably wog or walk the 5K, depending on how I feel. It is for leukemia and is a fundraiser that the trainer for our NHL team throws every August.

We are done with the summer hockey session, and have a hiatus until Sept 8th when the fall/winter season begins. It will move to 2 days a week, a Sunday house league and a Tues night practice. Assuming all goes well with the company thing, I will likely both buy new skates, and sign up for a learn-to-play/skills class on Thursdays, too. Lots of hockey coming up!!

Oh, and I scored Monday night. First and only goal of the season. :)

Sorry... been crawling around the attics of the Capitol all morning. How many calories do you burn while climbing a ladder? I see a lot of that in my future... not much to report here. Am exhausted today for some reason. Hopefully, I get some energy before tonight's workout with Jesse. I see some major weight lifting coming my way since we did core on Tuesday this week.

OK - off to get some work done...

Kat - congrats on the goal!!!! Very cool... Do you have a post goal celebration move that we need to know about? Good luck this weekend...

Nancy - sorry that you can't fit the bike ride in. It is perfect weather for it right now.

LisaV - hope you are having a fabulous time on your trip. Wish I could escape to NYC this weekend to meet you and Jean, but I have some family things to take care here.

Thinking of the rest of you...

Amy - ww at work, awesome!

Paula - I can't believe you did the workout anyway. I'd have thrown in the towel that night.

Nancy - why are you watching your niece/nephew?

The girls had a good day at school. Maddi LOVED it. LOVED it. Molli - eh, I'm highly concerned as to how we are going to get thru this year. Her 8th grade teachers are all business. I had to sign all kinds of contracts last night, and in my head I'm cursing at these teachers.

Kat - are you glad for a hockey break or miss it?

Hi...tired. Kel is in pain. Lots of it. She can't sleep, which means I can't sleep. We were at Children's all day today and just get back in time to turn around and run out the door to Cam's soccer game. SO incredibly tired. But, things should settle down now. Just get to take care of her at home, etc. And Riley and Cammie are being angelic. Just perfect. That is a huge help. It is Thursday, which means I have my online conferences--terrible timing. So there is no way I can get to bed before 12:30. Tomorrow, I sleep.

Such a busy weekend you have ahead! and Congrats on the goal! I'm with Paula...I wanna know if you do a celebration dance...or perhaps a back flip :scared1:

Total glute workout! You'll have killer buns! :thumbsup2

Mom & Dad took a little vaca...they're just here until tomorrow, then their grandparents will have them for the weekend back at their own house...great kids. LOVE 'em.

OY. Thus begins another school year.:flower3: Becca just finally finished reading the book that she needed for freshman english....I *think* there's still some math work to do yet. <sigh> even summer vacation comes with homework around here!

:grouphug: hugs for you and Kelly! So glad the other 2 are being so fabulous for you thru all this. They really have a way of stepping up, don't they? And - please do try to get some sleep. All of you! When do your kids head back to school? We're Tuesday....I'm not quite ready. I could use another week...or 2....

Nothing much going on 'round here - did hear from Seth - he's doing rather well. Phsyically & mentally very tired, but handling everything like a champ. :thumbsup2

This is possibly the most hilarious thing I've heard this week.

Love to you all!

Nancy - thanks... at least something will offset the amount of dust and crap that I'll be breathing in as I crawl around these attics. I may die early, but I'll have a killer butt... :rotfl2:

Oh and Jesse has finally laid off of the 35 pound dumbell squats and lunges. I am doing those with 25 pound weights now. Of course, he has found a new torture device to replace them. Inchworm... so hating those right now. Hating them...

And can someone tell me why I felt the need to eat a JC brownie, a luna bar and a spoonful of peanut butter last night? (where is the smacking yourself in the head smiley...) I planned to eat the brownie. Not sure what I was thinking with the others. ugh...

Thinking about you all. Hope things are going well for those who are enjoying a rare drama free moment in life. Enjoy it because they just don't come often enough. :goodvibes

For those of you who are dealing with life's issues, I am sending you hugs and good thoughts. :goodvibes:hug:

GOOD MORNING

Guess what. I got on the scale this morning, and I didn't curse! :thumbsup2 Now....the number I see isn't really what I *want* to be seeing, but I'm definitely headed in the right direction.

Oh, how I love being "on".:lovestruc

Haircut for me today...then dr's appt for Nate...and more school shopping. Makes me think of that Staples commercial where the guy is buying supplies for his kids and in the background is playing "it's the most Wonderful Time of The Year!". :rotfl2: love that commercial.

I'm going to regret this, I'm sure....but...what is an inchworm? :confused3

As for the food choices? bah. That's what got me in this mess in the first place! Wish I had all the answers.....clearly I don't.

:grouphug: hugs to all! Missing each and every one of you.....

Since you asked an inchworm is as follows:
- start in a plank position
- walk your feet towards your hands (without moving your hands) so that your butt comes up in the air and you get a really good stretch on your hamstrings
- when you can't fold yourself in half any further, walk your hands out so you are back in the plank position
- repeat as many times as you can until you collapse or just start swearing at your trainer becuase he is doing them next to you and hopping is way through by kicking his legs out side to side and all sorts of crazy stuff and generally making them look easy while you are sweating your bummocks off. Oh wait, that is my signal to stop... :rotfl:

Remember - you asked...

Hey everybody!!!!!

Sorry I haven't been around...I haven't even been able to really read. Life has been so busy since I started school on the 18th, it's not even funny.

So last week, when school started, I decided to take my pedometer with me and reset it so I could find out how much walking I'm doing just while I'm on campus. Between Tuesdays and Thursdays, it's about 5 miles. Then, last Sunday, Carlos and I went to the zoo and walked about 5 and a half miles throughout the day! I felt really good about my eating and it paid off; on Monday when I weighed in, I lost 3.8 lbs!!!! This was exactly the kind of motivation I needed, because I have been yo-yoing so much and was really close to being back at my starting weight. I also started taking these abs classes that they offer for free at my work. They end up being cardio for me, as I am so out of shape! lol I work up a sweat that's for sure. So this week, my eating hasn't been quite as good, but I still had my walking at school and did the abs classes both Tues and Thurs, so we will see how it goes on Monday!!!

The problem I'm still having is my sweets cravings. Especially when I am really stressed (like this week with sooo much schoolwork to do), so I need to find something to put in place of that, just haven't figured out what yet lol.

On a good note, though, at the beginning of the month, I bought some clothes for our vacation (only 2 weeks away now!!!!!!) and wore a pair of the capris yesterday...they are already fitting much much looser than when I bought them, and at this point I am just hoping they won't be falling off throughout our whole vacation! No one needs to see my butt hanging out! :scared1:

Anyway, I'm goign to try to make sure to stop in a bit more often, now that I've somewhat got school into a routine.

Hope everyone is doing well!
