In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate... Vol. 6: Goddesses just want to have fun

Back from our whirlwind road trip. Will get caught up here and then respond to all!

Hmm. I think D is at a conference that weekend... Possibilities!! :cool2:

I just got the soundtrack. My obsession is new (like, 2-3 weeks old), so you can only imagine my surprise at seeing that here last night!

I also have, umm, a few ways of watching it. Quality isn't great but it is better than nothing!! I wish they would release a DVD...

Guess what just happened. I don't know what to think. I booked the return flight on Jet Blue today. Even picked the seats. And left for the day. Came home. And I couldn't find my itinerary - thought I saved in on my hard drive. (I am very organized with these issues). So I thought "okay - I gave my email address" but no it's not there in my inbox. So I phone Jet Blue - nothing. No record. Nada. So phone my CC - no record - nothing.

I know what I sound like. :lmao: But I booked this flight. And now I feel strange to rebook it like I shouldn't or something. So incredibly strange.

Hmmmm.

Back from our whirlwind road trip. Will get caught up here and then respond to all!

So I'm down in Toronto thinking that little sh!t is here in this hot humid smog. But you're not. Home. :lovestruc

Can't wait to hear Erika.

I guess I need to reserve comments before replying because I missed thanking Kelly & Kat.

Thanks ladies!

Sometimes everybody needs one or two of these: :cheer2::cheer2:

Hi everyone...

First off Aimee - sending hugs... Monday morning is not that far away...

Lisa and Kat - Now I am going to have to go and get the Wicked soundtrack. That song is just beautiful to read so it must be amazing to hear. Wicked is coming to one of the local theaters in the fall and I am dying to see it.

Erika - welcome home!!!!

What a weekend. I am exhausted, but it was a good one. My buddy from college was here for the weekend with his significant other so she could meet "his other family" - his words, not mine. She is fabulous - truly fabulous. They arrived Thursday night and we had dinner at my parents' camp. Friday, I had a golf outing for work and they went to Cooperstown to check out the baseball hall of fame. We met up for dinner afterwards. The golf was fun, didn't play horribly, but didn't play great either. Did manage to get a cardio workout in at the gym after the round though so that was good. Saturday was spent at the track. I hit the first ract, but that was it. It was a good day though, but hot. Temps in the upper 80's with humidiy. Yuck...

Sunday, my friend and I went golfing with my dad and his girlfriend went shopping and to lunch with my sister and my mom. The golf was fun, but man was it hot. I drank four bottles of water and a bottle of gatorade and still felt a little dehydrated when we were done. The girls found a great Irish pub in Saratoga that I am going to have to check out soon. It sounded awesome. Then it was back to camp to hang out and have dinner. A great weekend, but I am tired and need sleep... Getting up for work tomorrow is going to be painful....

Hope everyone else had a great weekend...

I am still at the beach, decided to stay another day. Heck, figured if my company is going under, the PTO will go away too, so why not take it!

Paula, glad you had a great time this weekend!! If you click on the youtube link you can hear pieces of the song for free. And yes, it is amazing.

Even reading the lyrics gives me goosebumps. My favorite parts:

"I've heard it said that people come into our lives for a reason
Bringing something we must learn
And we are led to those who help us most to grow
If we let them, and we help them in return
Well, I don't know if I believe that's true
But I know I'm who I am today because I knew you...

...

So much of me is made of what I learned from you
You'll be with me like a handprint on my heart
And now whatever way our stories end
I know you have re-written mine by being my friend...

...

Who can say if I've been changed for the better?
But because I knew you, I have been changed for good"

It's so true, though, for almost everyone you come across. Every experience and person we meet changes our life. Sometimes good, sometimes not, but it effects the change regardless.

Okay, done with the deep stuff... night everyone! :goodvibes

Good morning everyone! :goodvibes

Back from an incredibly hot, sticky, dirty, smelly, exhausting yet oh-so-much-fun weekend at our county 4H fair. More on that later...

Um, Nancy? Not visible makes it sound like you and hubs did some hanky panky in the woods. :rolleyes1

 Oh, if it were that exciting of a story. But no. There must have been poison ivy in some of the hay that we baled last week. Got it all on my arms, neck....down my shirt where it settled in my bra...and...in my belly button. Nasty. Much, much better now.

Nancy, I didn't know your son was going into the Military! What is he joining? (Did that make sense?!) Very cool that he is going to serve his country, he has my respect for sure!

He is going into the Army. He'll be in the ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Corps) while he is in college - then when he graduates he'll be expected to be commissioned as an Army officer.

Small changes are helping me not feel so overwhelmed.:yay:

:thumbsup2 Nice! I'm so glad to hear that from you!!!

As usual, lots to do today. Must unpack from the weekend, catch up on the nasty laundry...and my house. OMG my house. It's suffering from the "snow globe effect". you know - where it looks like someone picked it up, shook it, and the crap just all landed randomly scattered.....

Excellent analogy!

School supply shopping today. Maddi is over the top excited about 1st grade. Giddy.

I so miss the days of school shopping. That first week of school was great because all of your stuff was new. New clothes, new notebooks... just loved it. The good old days right?

I am seriously dragging butt this morning. Need some serious sleep and can't even leave early today. Ugh...

Good luck with the cleaning Nancy. I need to do the same thing at my place.

Would someone please pass me a dumpster & a pressure washer

I'm not getting very far very fast....:headache:

Hey all and good morning...

Don't have a lot of time so I will come back later and try to respond. Have been super busy lately so I haven't been around much.

Hope everyone is doing well!!!!!

huh.

I've just been informed that my son is having a party tonight. :confused3 And it wasn't one of my own kids who told me. Good thing I like these kids! ;)

Guys :grouphug: Thank you all, so much. Im wishing the days away until Thursday, just so I can put my mind at rest.

I only have one more day at work tomorrow, then I am off until the 31st of August. We are going to the coast for a week on Saturday - its our first wedding anniversary :lovestruc The good thing about being at the coast is we do so much walking everyday - easily 9-10 miles! That helps with the delightful fish and chips we'll be eating! :rotfl:

:lmao: Your son sounds exactly like my younger brother! :rotfl:

I sign up for the challenge and promptly stop posting. I've been reading steadily, but just have lazy fingers.

Kelly -

Nancy - Love the snow globe analogy.

Dawn - How is Treyner doing at altitude? I hope no news is good news.

Erika - tell us all about it.

I've started trip planning for January. I know there's a meet at Pop Century. Do WISHers meet at other times, too? DGF went to WDW once with her high school orchestra. She remembers it being very clean. I have been to WDW over 20 times as an adult. I've stayed at lots of Disney hotels, but never the Poly. I'd love to stay there for the convenience of race morning. I should be able to walk to the TTC and take the monorail to Epcot, right? I cannot wait to share WDW with DGF. She's not a theme park fan and doesn't ride roller coasters, but she's excited for me.

We'll take some drives to the ocean. I hope to get park hoppers to cover most of the days we're in FL. To end a day with Illuminations would be icing.

I am just plodding along logging miles right now. Coming from a non-running life, it feels great! My plan begins in October. I hope to find other MfM half plan people. Comparing notes should help. I'm running three miles three times a week. I have started adding some faster intervals. It does not yet rise to the point of being "speed work". I am so slow. It has to help. Has to.

I'm starting to think about the big day. I've started running with my little ESPN Club fanny pack. I've been trying Gu and Clif Shots. Yuck! Nothing new on race day!

It has finally stopped raining. Lots of local flooding. Animals were starting to gather in pairs. Bad stuff.
