In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate... Vol. 6: Goddesses just want to have fun

Hi Ladies!!! Sorry I've been MIA lately but work has been a big ball of stress and craziness the past week or so. Here's the update for nearly the past two weeks.

Last week I did 6/7 breakfasts, only 4/7 lunch, 3/7 dog walks and 1/7 gym. Between weather and work schedules it was tough to get in more exercise. On the plus side I did weigh myself last Sunday and I had lost 3 lbs :)

This week was bad too. So far only 2 dog walks but I hope to get one in tonight and and both days this weekend. No gym time either. I should have gone today but I caved after the week I've had and ate a bag of popcorn. Only 3 healthy lunches this week and 3 breakfasts. Two days I didn't eat breakfast at all, not on purpose but I got caught up in stuff at work and before I knew it, it was nearly lunchtime.

I did have a good moment last night. I tried on 2 pairs of shorts that I really love but were definitely way too tight in the waist/hip when I had tried to wear them back in May. While they aren't super comfortable, they are super close to all day wearable. Right now I think they'd get uncomfortable after a few hours because they are still a little tight but as long as I get back on track I should have no problems wearing them at the beginning of Oct.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. I'll try to pop in more often as work allows. Hopefully it should slow down for a little bit.

Hey there,

I was volunteered to run a leg in our 10K for work in 5 weeks. I don't know if I am ready for 2 miles though. It's a run/walk, sooo who knows?

Hey Everyone! :flower3:

Im still here, still plodding along! This week/weekend is just so busy! Ive been managing to get 30mins a day exercise in, but tomorrow and Monday I wont get any done....and I definitely wont be tracking my food or water!
Tomorrow is my birthday BBQ/drinks at my brothers house, then Monday is the Cricket...unfortunately there will be delicious food and alcohol involved!

 to all that need them

I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend :upsidedow

Amiee - you can do it!!!

Kelly - tomorrow's your birthday! Start the birthday buffer woman and get out and celebrate!

Not much going on here. Beautiful day and I am going to spend it outside.

Later.

Wow. Waking up the thread at 4:30 on a Sunday afternoon! :scared1:

Busy, busy, busy here (image of Professor Hinkle just popped into my head.)

Getting ready for our 4H fair next week - lots of goats to prep...and Becca is making a carousel cake. (HEY! they took away the "scared" smiley guy. What up with that?)

Gray and rainy today....bleh. For someone with such a long "to do" list I'm surely lacking in the motivation department....

Kelly -

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!

Hope the picnic was fun and your day grand!

Quiet day around here... must mean that we are all out celebrating Kelly's birthday... Seriously girl - hope the day was a great one!

Got my sunday morning bike ride in and then spent the day with my sister and one of our friends shopping. Bought a pair of pants after trying on about a dozen. Ugh - can't wait until I finally get to the next size since 20's are too big and 18's are too small. Oh and I really want fall to get here. The clothes are so much nicer. No need to worry about sleeveless tops, shorts, capris or crops. Everything is meant to cover. Gotta love that!

OK - time for me to do some work and get ready for the week ahead. My buddy from college and his girlfriend are coming up this weekend so I need to cram my normal five day routine of laundry, workouts, etc into three. :scared1: I am seeing Jesse on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday this week. I figure I should lose the ability to walk somewhere in there...

Later...

Oh Kelly! Kelly!!

<Stolen from our local Mexican haunt>

Happy, Happy, Happy Birthday! Happy, Happy, Happy Birthday! Happy, Happy, Happy Birthday! To you, To you, To you OLE!

I hope it was a great one!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KELLY!!!

There's no fun British way of saying that is there? :lmao:

Back from the Lake House. FUN. We hosted a huge lobster bake and everyone had a great time. Perfect weather, so everyone was in the lake, jumping off the dock, kayaking, the whole bit. Home tonight and tomorrow and then we leave on Tuesday for our road trip.

Maine --> through CT (wave to Nancy) ---> to NJ (wave to Liz) where we stop for the first night. Not near Liz, so no visit which pisses me off. Then NJ -- > PA where we stop second night. PA ---> through OH (wave to Lyz) to Ann Arbor, MI where we stop. Go Blue. (I am a Wolverine, remember.) MI--->across Canada--->Toronto (wave to Lisa). Hang for a bit. Onward to Niagara Falls. Then through VT (wave to Amy's family and call across the boarder to Steph) and then back to Maine. 6 days.

Why this odd route? Jeff has business in most of these locations. And his meetings are all for only about 2 hours each. So we are turning it into a family road trip. But isn't it odd that I am going to pass by so many of us from this thread? I will have my iPhone and will post updates along the way. And if it turns out I can stop and visit or will be passing by closer than expected, I'll let you know!

Hope everyone is going strong!

Good Morning Everyone!

Thank you all so much for the birthday wishes :lovestruc
I had a wonderful day yesterday - the sun was shining, we had a BBQ at my brothers and all my family and friends came, it was the perfect day!

Erika - there is no fun British way of saying happy birthday :lmao:
That sounds like so much fun, the road trip you are doing!

I loved my Mexican birthday song, I sang it out loud with the Ole at the end! :rotfl:

Well, we were supposed to be at the Cricket today - the match lasts 5 days, today is the fourth day - unfortunately for England cricket fans we are so rubbish that the match was over on the third day! :rotfl: So, me and DH are having an impromptu date night tonight, we are going out for a meal then to see Harry Potter!

Hope everyone is well

Have a great day :upsidedow

EE- loved the International Flair to your birthday wish

Erika - Road trip! :woohoo: Please do let me know if you'll be pausing in CT...

Kelly - sorry 'bout the Cricket - but sounds like your alternate plans were fun!

Me? - I'm still hangning out there in limbo land. Not gaining anymore (thank GOD!) but not in losing-mode either. He!! week this week with our 4H fair, then next week we take Seth to college...so just looking toward Labour Day for my "get your @ss back on track" date.

 hugs to all - hope you have a great Monday!

Erika - Um - can I get a wave as you are driving from Niagara Falls to VT? I believe you will be driving right by me. Also, did I mention I give an awesome tour of the NYS Capitol Building? Just sayin...

Nancy - I am with you on the feeling blah thing. I am doing all right with the exercise thing, but the food thing is starting to get a bit out of control. I just don't have the motivation to track, plan and mindfully eat and my weight is showing it. Granted, I am not gaining, but I am not really losing much either - it is just kind of there. I so need to talk to my JC consultant about that before this really gets out of hand. My friend is coming up this weekend and I will be eating out most of the weekend and not exercising while he is here (I may try to sneak off to the gym on Friday, but shhh don't tell ;))

Ugh... I am so not liking this constant battle thing, but what can you do?

Happy Monday everyone! Hope it is a good one!

Morning! I lost a lot of sleep last night worrying about a possible career switch.

I've been working as a secretary/visit coordinator in the admission office at a local college (where I went to school) and the job has been nice, but I'm paid pennies. My FIL is a big shot business guy, and has tossed around the idea of me working with him and another guy, doing online affiliate marketing, and other sorts of social media marketing. I have a blog (as you can see from my siggie) and I'm on twitter, and facebook and dabble here and there... I just have an issue with 'change'. I get so scared of change it's rediculous. Is anyone else scared of change like me? I don't know what I'm so scared of- failing? Feeling 'stuck'? Not liking the new job?

I guess you never know until you take risks and try, do you? Sorry for the rambling!!! :guilty:

Good Morning!

My scale is moving slowly but steady. I'm almost up to the 50 lb mark, but I don't want to claim it until I quit yo-yoing.

Off to another crazy day at work, we are working on a plan for when I am the only supervisor. I have no doubt that I can handle the people, but my concern is gaining all of the small clients. I have the vocal ones now as it is.

:grouphug: hugs all around today! It's *definitely* feeling like a Monday!

Ugh... I am so not liking this constant battle thing, but what can you do?

And that right there is it in a nutshell for me. It's once again become a "battle". I truly want to be able to embrace it as my "lifestyle" but right now my brain is rejecting that idea!

:flower3: lots of things to consider....I'd say weigh the pros & cons and then follow your gut! Stepping out of your comfort zone isn't always easy, but that's how we discover the best things in life sometimes!

Almost to the 50 lb mark :yay: That is AWESOME!!! Sorry for the work stress crap. They need to hire you some help!

wicked hot. wicked humid. hottest day of the summer today (which truly isn't saying a whole lot ). But it is one of those famed "dog days of summer" ...and did I mention that Stephen has declared 2009 "air conditioning free" :crazy2: oy

Kelly, HAPPY BIRTHDAY (a day late) !!

E, sounds like a fun road trip.

Ann, good luck on your decision. I am into change so I don't have much advice... I change jobs on average of every 2 years!

Paula, I hear ya on the funk. I have been there all year, and my weight is definitely showing it. I likely am no heavier than I was in Jan, but that isn't really a good thing, either.

Nancy, what is hot to you? It was 89 when I got in my car this morning at 9:45AM. Our high is supposed to be 101 today, I think?

I had a great weekend... Fri night was enjoying our new patio set, dining al fresco, with fat tire. Sat I lazed around all day, and yesterday was very productive enjoying tax-free shopping weekend and catching up on all the laundry. I also managed to not eat/drink bad either of Sat/Sun which is quite an accomplishment, lately.

Boss-man is out from tomorrow on, and then Thurs afternoon I head out to the Outer Banks of NC to spend the weekend with my parents, brother/wife and kids.

"Hot" here is definitely not the same as "hot" there! We haven't had the temps hit 90* since the end of April....which is unusual in 2 respects. It's not uncommon to get a spring "heatwave" in April - but we're typically talking 80*s.....then for the summer NOT to hit 90* is not normal! Yesterday was cloudy/drizzle/rainy for a good share of the day and didn't hit 70* here. Today we're looking at the low 90*s with heat index of 100*ish. Totally wonky weather.

and humidity is NOT my friend. When it's humid out I retain water like nobody's business. I'm a freakin' human sham-wow! :rotfl2:

Yeah, they are saying heat indexes around 107-110 here. Whee. I am staying firmly at my A/C desk and then going home to my A/C house. This is the equivalent of when it is below freezing for y'all... we hibernate! :)

It's supposed to be under 90 on Wed/Thurs... well, 88 anyhow!

I actually like the 80s and lower 90s, but I don't like it much when it is up over about 95. Thankfully we don't get too many of those days.

And the humidity... it's he!! on my hair, but great for my skin. When I lived in Chicago I had such chronically dry skin that I would wind up with skin infections, which have cleared up completely since I moved down here in '00.

Anyhow, I am rambling away...

Just got back from my WW weigh in and I lost 1.4 lbs :woohoo:

After weeks of gaining and staying the same, this finally makes me feel like I am maybe a little bit back on track :)
