In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate... Vol. 6: Goddesses just want to have fun

As promised...

my cake pictures!!! (and one candy picture) Sorry I don't have more, incidentally most of my cakes were on the sd memory card that my brother stole and ultimately erased to take naked videos of his girlfriend. Yeah...that was one of the fun things we found in his room...

ANYWAY!!!!

This first cake was done for my best friend's bridal shower. Her colors were black and white and she's a HUGE Beauty and The Beast fan. Please ignore the green puke down the side, I let her mom store it and condensation+black frosting apparently equals green yuckiness!!! All the piping and pearls hand done

This is just a simple birthday cake I did for my dad, but being as anal-retentive as I am, I had to get the frosting as smooth as humanly possible :)

This was a cake I did for the ex best friend that I told ya'll about, the selfish one....yeah anyway she's really into skulls and spiders and stuff and she wanted all that.....and cherries haha. So I tried to incorporate it all. Please note-EVERYTHING on this cake is edible. :) (oh and please ignore the maraschino cherry that committed suicide off the side of the cake. I have a picture with it still attached...but again, on the other memory card)

Details, please! Let's see...we know you are going with Carlos and his parents and staying at All Stars. How many days? ADRs? Anything special or extra planned?

We will be gone a total of 12 days...the first day of course being the day we fly in and the last day the day we fly out. We do have ADR's, as we are going for free dining (we LOVE the dining plan :))

I would direct you to my pre trip report but...well... I've been a little lax on updating it  maybe I'll do that tonight while I can't sleep.

Yup I'm gonna go do that now and then hopefully ya'll can read on that (it's in my signature) I'm just lazy, really, I don't want to do the extra typing! :rotfl:

Oh yeah, and if you guys go look at it, there are pictures of the beyonce and I, his neices, and his parents. And my two wonderful fur babies

I've read everyone's posts but I don't have to comment on them all.

Yay for the Dryer fixing itself!!!
Thanks for updating the chart Erika :)

The weather held last night and I was able to take a walk again. I ate a light dinner so I could have a little of that cake from the day before. I had about half of what I would normally cut for myself. It totally wasn't worth it. I had a tummy ache the rest of the night :(

I'll check back in later in the day. Have a great one.

Good morning All!

Off for a quick bike ride here, then to the shore. Going to my parents house to pressure wash the porch for them (wheeee) while the kids kick back at the private beach club :beach: Nate doesn't want to go because one of Becca's friends is coming along. Not quite sure what that is all about - this friend is a bit on the ditzy side, but really she's a good kid....for whatever reason Nate just does not like her. at all. :confused3

Had my JC consultation tonight. I lost 1.4 pounds this week.

:woohoo: EXCELLENT Paula!

Hi! Haven't read yet today. Got asked to submit a proposal for a VERY lucrative contract, so have been putting that together all day. Finally just finished it and hit send!

I hope it comes thru for you!

Lisa!! I so get all of that. D's dad is bordering senility. Honestly, and I don't mean this to be taken wrong, but it is like dealing with the mentally disabled or a particularly difficult toddler... you just can't take anything personally. It doesn't make it better, but you have to just laugh a frustrated laugh and throw your hands up in the air, sometimes. It's sad, but it is also the way that life goes, often ending in complete role reversal from parent, back to child.

That's how we used to describe Stephen's grandfather. The biggest difference between him and a 3 year old was the SIZE! A toddler is *much* easier to physically control! It's definitely challenging. :grouphug: to all that are dealing with it.

Oh, and I am over here doing a happy dance... my dryer self-healed!! The symptom that it was displaying was the sheer inability to turn it on (hit the control on and nothing happened).

Did you kick it? That's my typical gut reaction to all things electronic that don't function like I think they should  So glad it's back from it's sabatical and is now working again!

Oh Nancy! That is just coming up so fast! Hang in there. Wow. But you know you raised a great kid.

I know. That's why it's so hard to see him go :goodvibes If he was a big ol' jerk I'd be HAPPY to boot his @ss out the door :rotfl2:

gotta get movin' here. Time is flying by....I wanted to be out riding by now!

Good morning...

Erika - thanks for posting the chart and I am keeping my fingers crossed for you on the contract.

Nancy - You did raise a great kid. Sending you hugs to get through the next few months... :grouphug:

Kat - yeah on the dryer deciding to work again!!! I hate going to the laundramat. Hate. It!

Lisa - so happy that you are settled and thanks for the smack upside the head about the last few weeks. I have been so nervous about plateauing in my weight loss that I forgot that sometimes, it is not all about the scale. I know - I am usually the one lecturing on not taking the scale too seriously and yet here I am. Neurosis; party of one please... Hope you are loving the new place.

Cathie - great pics of the cakes. Now I am craving chocolate... :rotfl2:

Stephanie - sounds like you are doing well on your new plan - YEAH!!!

Mad Hatter - so tell us about yourself....

Liz, Lyz, Amy, Amiee, Steph, Dawn, Ronda, LisaPR, LisaZ, Sunny, and everyone else - HI!!!!

I am feeling a bit better than yesterday, but still somewhat in a funk. Need to shake this somehow, but I suspect that I just need some time. At least I am not eating my way through the funk so I will celebrate that little victory...

Hope everyone has a great day!

Hey Everyone

I haven't been around over the last couple of days..sorry! The bank only just sorted out my money yesterday, so that was a weight off my mind after a few days of stress.
On the plus side, we went to the coast on Sunday and I calculated that we walked around 10 miles! Oh my legs ached on Monday!

Stephanie - Salad, definitely not cheating! Huge victory!

Paula - :cool1: on the weight loss!

Erika - I hope your contract comes through for you!

Kat - My first instinct would have been to kick the dryer too :rotfl: Glad its working for you now!

Dawn - The camp sounds awesome! :lovestruc

Cathie - for you, just because. Oh, and you need to update your pre-trip report - I read what you have posted so far and Im now ready for another update :rotfl2: Love the pictures!

Mad Hatter - Post more :thumbsup2

Nancy/Dawn - :grouphug: to get you through the next few weeks!

LisaV - Hi spelling neighboUr :lmao:

Everyone - Hi :flower3:

I am feeling a bit better than yesterday, but still somewhat in a funk. Need to shake this somehow, but I suspect that I just need some time. At least I am not eating my way through the funk so I will celebrate that little victory...

Hope everyone has a great day!

I know what you mean on the funk. Ive been in one for the past couple of days, but I have successfully avoided the rubbish food. Im still on track with the challenge, so yes, we will celebrate the little victories!
Im glad you are feeling a little better today

Hope everyone is having a great day :dance3::yay::woohoo: <---They were just because! :rotfl2:

Hi all!!!

Hope everyone is having a great day! :) Okay so I feel a little like the drama in life is calming down (aren't you all happy you won't have to feel me complaining anymore?!), and I'm so glad because I am normally such a happy and bubbly person :) My brother isn't talking to me I guess because my mother told him NOT to, which is totally fine by me

Today is a bit of a cheater day, I think I'm using my weekly points allowance. We ordered chinese at work from this place that I LOVE! Plus I had a breakfast burrito from the cafeteria that was like 3 times the portion of anything I should be having!!! But last night I had a really good dinner, home made glazed carrots, hominey, wild mushroom wild and brown rice (weight watchers side) and bbq chicken. I just scraped the skin off the chicken breast and ate it that way, it still had really great flavor. I love that my mom is kind enough to cook for me sometimes, especially when it's food like this that can be healthy!!! So I feel a little okay about indulging a bit today.

Sorry I haven't been commenting on everyone's posts so much, it is hard for me to keep up with what's happening with who as I haven't quite got the names and screen names down pat.

So here's my summary of comments :rotfl2:

To those with kids going off to college (I think there was two of you?) I really feel for you! I can only imagine what it must feel like letting them go. Espcially if they are going far away from you. But it must be comforting just to KNOW that they're going to college and making such a good choice for themselves!!!

Glad the washer (or was it dryer? Think it was dryer) has fixed itself.

Sorry for the ex drama going on. It's hard for my to empathize because I have been with Carlos pretty much since I knew (or I thought :rotfl: I knew) what love was, but I do definitely sympathize. It's hard to have a relationship end no matter what level it is at, but I'm a strong believer in the fact that you won't be put up to a challenge that you can't handle and come out on the other side stronger from. I hope everything gets better soon.

Thanks all for the comments on the cakes, I think over the next few weeks before I start school I am going to make some cakes just cuz to get a bit more practice and some new pictures. I'm a little nervous about doing this wedding cake, as it will involve a lot of fondant, which I don't really work with. much. At all haha. Usually jsut for embellishments but not for construction. As I do these, I'll definitely post the pictures for everyone!

Thanks so much for all the support, everyone! You guys are really wonderful and I can't explain what it has meant to have such great support and people to talk to!

Okay. Back to work ;)

OMG - this day is just dragging... So don't want to be at work right now. Not entirely sure where I want to be but I know its not here...

Not entirely sure.

Hmmmm - how about the Boardwalk with all of us there. HEAVEN!!!

Hope you day goes better Paula.

Been thinking about you Kelly. So happy to hear that everything is working out.

And the bad bad people. Lovely karma coming there way at some point. :wizard:

Paula - so happy that you heard me Paula about your month. Because honestly you are my inspiration right now. And we all have to grab on to what is going well - for you spectacularly - and hold on tight.

Even you Nancy. Because I forgot to tell you - when you were having a hard day about gaining some back (and I totally understand the frustration) - my mind went to the picture with Seth and how beautiful and fit you are.

Cathie - totally loved the cakes.

But my favourite was the candies. They look exquisite.

And I forgot to tell you with your other pics - you take wonderful pictures.

Cathie- love the cake pictures and those candies are just beautiful.

Just got back from the gym and a thirty minute bike ride. I think I have found the right resistance, enough to make me work hard but not enough to make me a wreck when I come back to the office.

Dan is making meatloaf tonight so I see cold meatloaf sandwiches in my future for lunch.

Thank you so much for the compliments!!!! The candies are definitely one of my more favorite creative endeavors. They were really fun and tasted SOOO yummy. Of course, since they are about 75% powdered sugar, restraint had to be exercised. The biggest challenge of making them! :rotfl2:

Hola.

Cathie - loved the cake pics. And the candies, yummy.

E - crossing my fingers for your contract. That would be awesome.

Hi to all. Just caught up. Raining here. xxoo

Hi! Haven't read yet today. Got asked to submit a proposal for a VERY lucrative contract, so have been putting that together all day. Finally just finished it and hit send! Phew! Of course, now I have to go back and do all of the work I had planned on doing this evening.

I know, I know...the last thing I need is another contract, right? But if I get this, I would be able to let go of several others. Means more money for less time which is always good! ;)

I'll get caught up--promise!

Good luck Erika.

Lisa!! I so get all of that. D's dad is bordering senility. It's sad, but it is also the way that life goes, often ending in complete role reversal from parent, back to child.

They came up on Saturday, and usually they stay overnight but he was adamant that they were going home. I think part of it is that he gets so confused at night that he can't find the bathroom (and it is the door next to the guest room and there is plenty of ambient nightlights and such). We made boiled shrimp, ribs, corn on the cob, potatoes, and he was adamant that he was only eating shrimp. Period.

On a good note, though, he is physically doing a lot better. He has put some weight back on and his color is good.

Oh, and I am over here doing a happy dance... my dryer self-healed!! The symptom that it was displaying was the sheer inability to turn it on (hit the control on and nothing happened). We were able to get the diagnostic panel to turn on, intermittently, and were able to get the drum to spin and heat and such, so we figured that it was the control panel that needed replacing. D tried one last time to turn it on today, when getting me the model number to order parts, and boom, it worked again. :yay:

It is now drying the last load of clothes, so even if it goes out, I am at least good for another week...

Yeah on the dryer. I love when that happens.

Good to hear that your FIL is doing somewhat okay.

Thanks Kat. Yes, we have to laugh sometimes. For sure. I still laugh at some of Jean's mom's best moments. Some of them were priceless. One day she was obsessed with white thread and spent about 18 hours yelling that we stole it. (no, even new white thread wouldn't have stopped it:laughing:). And she was still on it into the middle of the night. And came stomping down the hall -and I'm like "oh no - she's coming for us" and she goes in the wrong room and scares the crap out of her son. And then finds us - the anxiety and anger disappated and she says "Okay sugar - night". :lmao:

I was absolutely horrified at this one. But Jean was fine - weirdly enough. But now that she has passed - we both can laugh.

Mama was calling her a liar one day. And told her -

You are not my real daughter. You're not. I picked you up from a street corner in Kingston (Jamaica). Your real family didn't want you because you lie and lie. And I felt sorry for you and took you in.

Yes, I know that would have put me under. :scared1: Jean just laughed at said, "Really Mama - so if you're not my real mother - why am I looking after you?"

Sighing. Life is something.

LISA! OMG, I know what this means to you! SO so so happy for you! And of course, I can't wait to see pics of the new place! OMG, you have a HOME! After months and months of stress and moving about, you are home. What a feeling that must be for you!

Yikes! What's up with that? Any better? Reason why? Oh right...the hay. Ugh. Um, vicodin? It is my dear friend, you know. ;) :lmao:

Oh Nancy! That is just coming up so fast! Hang in there. Wow. But you know you raised a great kid.

Details, please! Let's see...we know you are going with Carlos and his parents and staying at All Stars. How many days? ADRs? Anything special or extra planned?

And???? Come on now...if you are going to come out and play, then come out and play! :lmao:

Updated challenge board coming.

Thanks Erika. :lovestruc

And I loved what you said to Nancy. So true.

Here we go....

Thank you.

Hola.

E - crossing my fingers for your contract. That would be awesome.

Hi to all. Just caught up. Raining here. xxoo

Hola el cutino. :lmao: :rotfl::lmao: Hasta Luego.

Just posted an update on the pre trip report if anyone is interested in reading :)

Hi everyone!

Working like crazy to get ready to leave tomorrow. Camping for 4 days. Way up north. Sorta excited, sorta not. We love, love, love our camping trips. But they are just SO much work.

Anyway, I will be offline after about 3pm tomorrow.

Exercise is coming back. I found out today that I am anemic, so I will get a shot of B-12 tomorrow and that should help. At least now I know why I have been so lethargic. But the good news is that I played tennis today and played REALLY well. And it looks like I am going to be captain of this new team, which is a surprise. Only one teammate from my old team came with me up the ranks to this new team, so I wasn't expecting it.

In addition to tennis, I got in a short run, 100 squats, and 100 lunges. Still need to do core. :rolleyes1

Good Evening All!

I haven't read at all yet. Worked 3 hours from home, trying to get caught up. I don't get to take a lunch tomorrow or Friday. Bosses are making us take working lunches. :headache:

Off to listen to the podcast and veg out.

Just home from the beach. Little bit of working on my parents porch (prep for painting) and a lot of relaxing in the sun & sand. AND...waaayyy too much crappy food :headache: I did, however, get my bike ride in this morning before we went, drank my water & only had one very small glass of wine. So. 3 out of 4 goals met isn't *too* bad!

Hmmmm - how about the Boardwalk with all of us there. HEAVEN!!!

:lovestruc Yes! My happy place!

Ok. So this is the weekend of "camping" camping, right? The *extreme* camping? Not the "at-the-lake" camping?

Ack. My idea of camping is Motel 6 where you have to bring your own hair dryer :rotfl2: I don't want to go on a *vacation* that is more work than my real life.

Amiee - you need a break there sister! Working thru lunches? bah.

Kelly - glad you got your $$ back
