In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate... Vol. 6: Goddesses just want to have fun

E ~ Well, I was going to say happy bonding, but I will skip that, lol. Vitamin D shots?!? Details, please.

Nancy ~ I'm singing Patti LaBell now.

Paula ~ Thanksgiving is the biggie. Anybody who walks in the door is family. Just grab a plate and pull up a chair. New job ~ same old same old. I have the same clients (just in charge of them now) and the same reps. Brings out the control freak in me. OMG! I forgot about Cheap Trick. Had my first kiss to one of their songs at their concert when I was in middle school.

Cathie ~ great job on the loss

Liz ~ glad to hear Emily is better. Nothing worse than a sick kiddo.

Sunblock before the race. And how are your carrying your water? Are there water stops along the course? First aid stops? Are you going to have your iPod? Charge it and put your race playlist on! Extra safety pins. Something to keep hair/sweat out of your eyes.

Erika - thanks for the list. I had the sunblock on there and Nancy picked up on the extra safety pins. I have my camelpak and a water bottle. There are water stops, but from what I have read, I am not entirely sure there will be one for the ten mile - hmm.. They have a vehicle following the riders to help with medical transports, but it will be a good idea to bring a small kit of some sort. I have the bondi band ready to go for under my helmut. Unfortunately, the ipod is not an option - they are banned. :confused3

I'm sure I'll have more questions before Saturday, but that is it for now.

Oh except for - core workout????

I made it out on my bike tonight and it was just glorius. I did a little over 8 miles at an easy pace. I am going to get out and do a quick and easy 4-5 miler on Wednesday and then that's it until the big day. The camel pak worked beautifully so I am set with that.

Gained a whopping 1/10th of a pound this week. I am thinking that if I peed before I got on the scale, I would have either stayed the same or lost a wee bit. Oh well, but that is the second week of gaining, so it is time to put the brakes on that train. I am tracking this week to keep myself focused.

Tomorrow should be interesting. I have a big meeting at work for most of the day. whee.....

OK - I am off to bed. I am still recovering from the weekend (and am still humming music from the concert...)

Catch you all later...

Disney Day 2 ~ Hollywood Studios

I adore HS. I was really looking forward to visiting and enjoying a few rides for myself. Well, that didn't really happen, but a good time was had.

Mom & Aunt Susie were not doing too good. Very very sore and cranky (did not get much done this day). We arrived about 20 minutes after opening. I raced to TSM and the FP were already up to 3:30. I was floored! Of course, I took what I could get.

Ryan got to pick the first attraction/ride. He floored me by picking one for Taylor ~ Voyage of the Little Mermaid (Taylor's fav!). We all loved it. The lasers were amazing. Sometime along the way, we also hit Star Tours, The Great Movie Ride, One Man's Dream (misty-eyed), Lights, Motors Action & Muppets 3D.

We had lunch at The Brown Derby. The restaurant didn't wow me like I thought it would. I mean, yes it was good and I adored the caricatures. But it didn't knock me over. Maybe I feel this way because it was just lunch. :confused3 At any rate, I will try it again for dinner.

We had Cobb Salads for the adults, meaty pasta for Taylor and fish strips for Ryan. I also ordered two cremini ravioli. Since I bet everybody knows what a Cobb salad tastes like, I will talk about the ravioli. Wow! It was huge. We really could have split one. Really I would have made a meal out of them. Just sayin. The filling was melt in your mouth yummy and a huge piece of parmesan. To Die For! Heaven! Like Butta! I am going to estimate the size as similar to a Valencia orange. This was the first day of the really hot days of our vacation, so it was really nice to sit in a very cool restaurant and relax.

I absolutely adore old Hollywood, so I was very excited to have visited this restaurant.

We left for the hotel shortly after TSM for a well deserved nap. I ended up taking the kids back to see Fantasmic. We also ended up going on Star Tours 4 more times. The one feeling that is etched in my mind from that night is when I went to sleep, I still felt like I was moving. Strange!

EE--great TR! Sounds like you got a lot done!

I have to post my pics of the Derby. OMG, Candy Cane Martinis! SO yummy! As was the waiter! ;)

Epcot! Epcot! Epcot!

Can you tell which park we visited Tuesday, June 16th?

Mom decided to stay at the hotel, so the rest of us made it to Epcot about 15 minutes before the opening. We went on Spaceship Earth first. I had never been on it and thought it was kinda neat. The kids really enjoyed it and learned a bit from it. Next we darted off for Test Track. We managed to ride it twice within 20 mins!!!

Here's a funny ~ Ryan had been going on and on about riding it and then, when he was seeing all of the crash test dummies, he started freaking out. I mean stomach pain freaking out. I thought he was getting sick (not scared sick at this point because he didn't tell me). Well, a lady that I was talking to in line caught a tear rolling down his face and she got him to tell her what was really wrong. He thought he was going to be a crash test dummy and then Taylor started getting upset. See around Christmas, he and Mom were almost his by a semi. I had no clue and I felt horrible. I was ready to bail out of line, by this lady's son (preteen), explained it to them. Long story short, both of them loved the ride. I even let him ride in the single rider line while I ran and got FP for Soarin'.

We hit every attraction except for Soarin' by lunch. I swear nobody was in Epcot. We had FP for 1:45, so we decided to eat at Sunshine Seasons. Yum! I had something from the Asian station, Taylor had noodles, Ryan had a sandwich and beets (yes, he LOVES them).

For anybody who hasn't been on Soarin' and are ok with that type of ride...Please give it a try! Taylor loved it up to the fireworks (she hates them). After Soarin', we went back to Test Track and got more FP's and waited in line for 15 mins to ride. Basically, we did the loop of rides again.

We left around 4 because we had reservations at 8:30 for Akershus. More to come about that.

I could feel it in my soul. With everything going so well this morning, something had to go wrong. My instinct was right. We left the hotel by 7:15 for our 8:30 ADR. I quickly notice that metalic smell that happens right before a storm. Yep ~ I'm from the midwest. I was hoping against hope, so I raced everybody to the SUV and hit the road. The sky was soo dark (dark purple gray). We were about 10 mins away from the WDW exit, so I was hoping to make it before it got bad.

We pulled in to Epcot soo close to the gate. It was thundering in the distance at a pretty high clip. When we made it through the gate, I felt the first rain drop. So far so good. Taylor wasn't in her dress and it was protected from rain. We had ponchos and all is well. That is until the sky opened up as we passed Spaceship Earth and just before shelter at Innoventions. The mother of all rains! The lightening was terrifying. Water standing in the path! We stood outside of the Electric Umbrella for an eternity (well over a 1/2 hour in torential rain). At some point, Taylor said it was the worse night of her life. :lmao:

I knew we were not going to make it to our ADR, so I hoofed it to guest relations. Shoeless no less. My crocks were a hazard. I have never been so scared in all my life. All I could think of it metal, lightening, and water do not mix. I made it to GR and a wonderful CM named Ana Luiza helped me. I explained my situation (also that we were celebrating Taylor's birthday a day early with dinner). She couldn't get anything to open for us (I told her that we would change our touring plans for any day other than Wednesday). I was holding back tears when she told me this. Then she picked up the phone and called. Basically, she told me I could have a pick of any evening! I decided on Friday.

So, I walked back in ankle deep water to my family. We stayed for another 45 mins until the rain died down and ended up getting McD's in the drive thru. Not my favorite, but it was late, Taylor was crying, Ryan tried to console her, and we all were wet. But guess what?!? Not a drop of rain on the dress.

Up tomorrow:

The birthday celebration at MK!

Hi LisaV~ Oh how I miss you! I swear you need to come down here! I promise not to rant at the canadians while your here!
HELLO to everyone!
Off to bed ! I had 5 mojito's yesterday and I am so tired today! I dragged on my feet all night at work. So off to bed with me!

EE - great TR! Keep them coming!

Steph - Hi! Missed you!!!

Lisa V - Jillian. OMG. Love Vancouver. Hate Wes. Ed reminds me of Nick. That's my type.

Good morning sleepyheads!

I'm up early because the bug guy is here. He arrived at 7:35am. Joy! Love them, though. They come every few months and spray my house. Thank God. I hate bugs. See a silverfish? Call the guy! See a wasp outside? Call the guy!

Anyhoo, day two of week two. Fingers crossed!

Good morning...

Liz - hope the bug guys do their thing. I hate those silverfish... yuck!

Not much going on here today. So need to go grocery shopping. I went to pack my lunch last night and the only veggies in the house were some canned beets (which I will share with Ryan) and some shriveled carrots. So, I am buying a salad today and heading to the grocery store after work to stock up.

Hope everyone has a great day!!!

Morning Everyone!
Cold and rainy day here! But I guess that is what I deserve! I have been bragging to all my friends in boston on how sunny it's been here and now I get rain. But friday is supposed to be a great day and I have it off.

Liz what is a silverfish?? Yeah I am not a bug person? I flipped out when I found a centipede in the basement when we first moved here. I just remember them from when I spent the summer in Hawaii and I think I remember them being poisonous. So I really flipped out then Stephen explained that they are not poisonous. Still not a great fan of BUGS! We have spiders crawling around in the pool I hate when they are still alive in the skimmer basket. I leave them there till they drowned! :rolleyes1

Ewwww silverfish are creeeepy!!!!! Something that can move around like that is just not right in my book haha. I had heard somewhere that they are poisonous?:confused3 I could have heard wrong too though, that's not uncommon :rotfl:

Today I'm work a 10 hour shift so I'm going to be super tired and cranky tonight!!! Gotta' take advantage of the OT when they offer it though!!!!

66 days till our trip. CAN'T WAIT!

Kelly - Roddick, really? I know - I know the boy has grown up. :lovestruc I did feel for him. It must suck royally to lose that kind of match. I loved Roddick's line about Federer's wins when he was trying to say to Roddick "I've been there". :lmao: It will be interssting to see Nadal back.

The best line - NOT - one of our nephews (Jean's) says during the match geez man why is Federer with a girl so old? :scared1: Yes, he callled his wife old. My God. Five years ago he told me Mary J Blige was so old now. Youth.

He has indeed grown up!
And oh my heck - Federers wife is so NOT old! :scared1: How old is the Nephew?

Hi everyone...

First weigh-in today...and I lost 2.6 pounds!

I'm really proud of myself because I was having a really tough time last week. Getting used to tracking my food/points has been difficult, plus I'm going through a really rough time emotionally right now, and the ice cream and chocolate has been calling my name!!!!

:cool1: Awesome on the loss! And a double awesome on ignoring the ice cream and chocolate :thumbsup2

The fashion choices were entertaining (somewhere I must have missed the memo that said every woman must be dressed in some sort of halter top that has such a deep neckline that the girls can literally hit someone in the face if they are not careful – and yes, those girls are supported by the wonderest of wonder bras – how else to they point upwards?).

:rotfl2: I love rock chick chic! The last time we went there was a 'lady' there who was sporting a very interesting leather studded bustier!

Def Leppard came out and reminded me why I love these guys. They know how to rock and know how to put on a show. Huge video monitors, lights everywhere, tremendous stage presence and oh yeah – they can still rock. Plus – how can you not love a band whose lead guitarist is totally pumped and is shirtless for the entire show? Wow was all I could say – he looked that good. They played all of their hits – Photograph, Rock of Ages, Love Bites, Hysteria, Pour Some Sugar on Me… The guitar solos were awesome and the talent that their drummer has still amazes me. With one arm and his two feet, he had the whole crowd going crazy during his solo.

It was a great night and I did not have a voice when I left. Oh and I was up and at the gym at 8:00 the following morning. No rest for the weary here…

:thumbsup2 Sounds amazing! I Love Pour Some Sugar on Me - its my favourite song, DH's is Two Steps Behind - I like something I can move to! :rotfl:

And yes, Shirtless Guitarists are the way to go :rotfl2:

Liz, yay for the bug guy. Silverfish, eww. For some reason I don't see them down here, but we have plenty of other creepy-crawlies to take their place.

Cathie, where are you going? WDW? I know that you probably said already and I am just a bad thread-gal and haven't made note of it... We will be there from Sept 10-19, 3 days on our own and then 5 days with a family grand gathering fiasco.

Steph, Wilson would be a 252 area code... it is about a hour east of me. Congrats on the full-time job! Oh, and LOVE the pool!

EE, great trip reports!!

I am trying to remain awake today... :surfweb:

Liz--I love our bug lady. Bugs are so so gross. Yuck.

Paula--Forgot to ask, what kind of beer were they selling at SPAC? Hopefully it was good beer for 7 dollars a cup.

Erika--I simply can't believe that marathon weekend is only 6 months away. holy crap.

Cathie--WTG on the loss!!

Steph-- I hope your mojitos were from scratch! Your pool looks fantastic? Have you hired a pool boy yet?

EE-- Still loving the trip report! I always take off my shoes if I have to make a run for it in the rain here. Even in the grocery store parking lot. I have nearly twisted my ankle and/or slipped too many times.

Kat--I will most likely be at WDW for a day or 2 in September during that time frame. I know this is a family meet up for you, but maybe you could sneak away to meet up for a drink or two? the IL's will be there with us so it would super easy for me to get away. And I will probably NEED to get away. I can only imagine how Disney with the two of them together will be.

Thanks all for the nice comments on the loss! I have a confession though....I didn't COMPLETELY ignore the chocolate and ice cream. lol had to have a little bit but everything's good in moderation right?! :thumbsup2

And no, sorry, I guess I didn't say where I'll be going in 66 days!!!!
We're leaving for WDW on Sept 11 (bad flying day, I know! :scared1:) and returning on the 22nd. I can't wait. My boyfriend, Carlos and I (or fiance or fiance to be or WHATEVER you wanna call him haha) are going with his parents. You should all check out my pre trip report when you have a chance! (Although it needs to be updated badly :rolleyes1)

Hi. I'm reading. Kinda in a fog and I'm not getting half of what is being said here. Weird, usually I'm all up in your business.

Yeah, what is a silverfish? Gonna have to google it.

Cathie - great job on the weight loss.

Amiee - I'm loving your tr. Keep it up.

As for running barefoot anywhere, it just doesn't happen. My feet are so bad, I wear tennis shoes around my house. Just ones you slide your feet into.

Steph - grrrr with your pictures.

Wondering how the track meet is going?
