In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate... Vol. 6: Goddesses just want to have fun

Lisa PR - please do not think you can escape my running questions! :rotfl: Do you start over right at the beginning to C25K?

Erika - yes it sucks. i know it, girlfriend.

Dawn - the wedding plans sound great!

Everyone- sorry, I read all of it, but I am just pressed for internet time right now. I am reading and trying to keep up!

I wasn't avoiding you, I must have forgotten in my work haze...:surfweb:

I never did C25K although I do feel it is a very good program and a great place to start. My personal 5K program is still far more brutal than most and includes 7-10 mile weekend runs. Since I am having a hard time getting my normal 25-30 miles a week and this drops back to the 20 range, I am hoping to find it more manageable for me. Until my scheduling straightens out, i.e., we get through 8th grade prom, graduation, the end of softball season and baseball season and before we start summer softball season and field hockey preseason, my running is sporadic at best.

Hair tonight and a softball game takes precedence over the run today but tomorrow is another day.

Dawn, :wizard::hug: and :woohoo::woohoo:

Here is the menu and some more info for you detail people! Wedding will be a bit after 6p.m. as they need to wait to corner off the boardwalk after the rental hut closes. We could pick the croquet lawn (for those of you who have been there it is right out the back doors) but I really think the boardwalk would be awesome plus less money on floral because you would not want to block the view.

I think it will be awesome that guests will have the day open to swim and sun - get ready at 3p.m. and have a nice relaxing evening.

I just have to make sure that I don't get fried that day if I go out!!

We are going to try like crazy to rent a cottage there that sleeps 12. That way there should only need to get 3 other rooms for sure rented inside the main building. There will not be much privacy that night or for the days surrounding the wedding but we will then fly the kids home and head for our honeymoon. Trying to decide between heading to the Keys for a week than flying from Miami home or driving north through Hilton Head and see Charleston etc. and either driving home from there taking our time or flying from the east coast somewhere.

Never been to either so any advice would be appreciated.

That's about it!

Hi!

Of course, it has been rainy here today.

Dawn--Wedding plans sound great. As far as suggestions/input, I would think that the people on the Disney wedding board would have some fantastic suggestions, and maybe people who have done vero weddings could recommend vendors for flowers and all that. http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=55

Paula--LOVE your new bling! Refresh my memory, when did you start JC??

I wonder if it would be possible to link to menus and details instead of copy/paste? Trying to stay on track over here...

Oh, btw, back. :)

I am declaring thread bankruptcy, sorry. The last 2-4 weeks have been crazy and I honestly just want to put them behind me.

I signed up for two 5Ks this week, one is the Raleigh Komen on June 13 (2weeks, holy crap) and the other is Aug 30.

If anyone wants to donate to the Komen, here is the link: http://race.komennctriangle.org/site/TR/Race/General?px=1529767&pg=personal&fr_id=1070

Kat - welcome back... we missed you!

Yeah on the races!

Hey everyone, Im here just blah!

Erika -

Liz - Glad to hear Jodi is doing ok. How is the little one? Scrapbooking? Is that with photographs etc, but customised?

Kat - Welcome back

LisaPR - Hi!

Paula - Cant believe I missed your bling! :woohoo:

Dawn - Wedding plans sound fabulous! :cool1:

Im going to watch Britains Got Talent now - sometimes you just need mindless, easy watching TV! :upsidedow

Hi everyone! I've had a super busy past few days. Schedule doesn't look to ease up much for a few weeks at least. I'm trying to keep current on my reading. Guess I have to say "thanks" for not going post-crazy on me!

PAULA!!! Your BLING! Holy crap, girl! :worship::worship::worship:

Yes Paula! When did that little beauty get put on? :yay: I love it. So proud of all your hard work. You, my friend, are a true inspiration.

Thankfully, I have discovered Dunkin Donuts egg white flatbreads (under 300 calories, whole grains, a decent fiber content, a little high in fat content, but not crazy high like a burger and fries, a decent portion size and they are yummy). They save me when I am eating on the road.

I've never tried one of those. I typically look for a Subway when I'm in need of food on the go. But it's nice to know that there are other decent options out there

Sorry! Big day for me, lots to do. Right now I am hanging out with Jodi - she is over. We are catching up on TIVO while she scrapbooks. YES, now she is a mom and suddenly she scrapbooks! :lmao: Gen's pics and stuff, of course.

Scrapbooking. oy. I'm a scrapbooking failure  I just don't have the patience for that. One of my friends was a Creative Memories consultant a while back. Her books were beautiful. Me? Shoe box. Drawer. Big Envelope. Digital Camera card :rolleyes1

And speaking of inspirations, Liz- you too. For all that you do for everyone. Always.

And how's Emily? Almost done with school for the year? :teacher:

Wow, sorry to start the day on a negative note. Totally didn't mean to do that. I would turn it around with some crap about flowers and rainbows, but that wouldn't be real. And the one thing about this thread is that it is real, and that is why it works for us, right?

No, we wouldn't want your crap about flowers and rainbows. :lmao: We'd see right thru that anyway.

Did you get a run in today? Biking? Tennis? Beer pong? :confused3

oak-grilled ****ake Mushrooms

Really? Really? You got bleeped out for a mushroom? Really? That's ridiculous.

Budget concious choices. Makes a lot of sense to me, considering home renovations & tuition costs and all. Besides. To me, the wedding is about the people, and the committment that they are making to each other. Not about the dress, flowers, cake, party. Ok, it may be about the cake. After all, I love Cake. ;) The wedding day comes and goes, but the marriage will hopefully stick around for a good long time.

ugh. I think I'm going to insist that my daughter elopes!

LisaPR - hope you get caught up on your work soon!

Liz - Glad to hear Jodi is doing ok. How is the little one? Scrapbooking? Is that with photographs etc, but customised?

Yes. That's it exactly.

Im going to watch Britains Got Talent now - sometimes you just need mindless, easy watching TV! :upsidedow

Who are you rooting for? Over here Susan Boyle has been all over the tv. Is she a fan favorite in England?

I so wanted to scrapbook, and bought a ton of stuff to do it. I had this vision of me being on maternity leave and having tons of time to scrapbook stuff. And then when I got laid off, I thought the same thing. Not so much. So, I got a bit more into digital scrapbooking and have made some cool hard cover books and have boxes of actual stuff that I hope one day to scrapbook the old fashioned way.

Thanks for the comments on my new bling. I hit that milestone with this past week's loss. Gotta celebrate those moments when they happen right?

Nancy - you should try the egg white flat breads. They are actually pretty good. One could argue that it is a little dry and needs a condiment, but I am not a fan of katchup on eggs so I don't know what you would put on it. Mustard? In a pinch, it works and is easier to eat while driving (a horrible habit) than a sub. If given the choice though, I'll take 1/2 of a turkey sandwich with grainy mustard over the egg white thing anyday.

Good luck getting caught up. While all of you are going out of your minds, I am sitting here with not a lot to do (work wise). I have never seen things this slow. Not sure how I am going to get through tomorrow. As of right now, I have about two hours worth of work to stretch out over 8 hours. Should make for a nice long day...

Gotta run. Time to head home, than to a meeting and then to the gym for my beat down. I think tonight is my core workout night. Those just kill me. ugh...

Later

Doing something I never EVER do.

Watching Oprah. Just for the heck of it, I turned it on while I'm cleaning (ugh). Bob, Jillian & some Biggest Loser contestants are one. Just exactly what I needed today. Must be karma

Who are you rooting for? Over here Susan Boyle has been all over the tv. Is she a fan favorite in England?

She started out as a fan favorite, but I think too much TV/Newspaper exposure has started a backlash :confused3
Example - todays front page news (if you can believe it!) on one of the papers told the story of how Susan Boyle was in a hotel watching a screening of one of the Britains Got Talent semi-finals when one of the judges told a 12-year old boy he was possibly one of the best singers in the competition and she went on a '4-letter rant' and ended up being photographed outside the hotel being calmed down by the police :scared1: Its crazy, and sad really because she is just a normal lady with a very good singing voice!

Personally, im rooting for an 11-year old boy who taught himself how to dance watching you-tube videos - he is awesome!

Not much to report. Got a pedicure today, which was much-needed in terms of pampering.

And I got in an 11-mile ride. Not normal ride, but at least it was something!

Jeff was due home at 7pm and missed his last connecting flight. There is only one more flight going to Maine tonight and that would have him arriving home at about 12:30 am. That is if he can get a seat. If not, looks like a stay at the airport Hilton or somewhere.

Here is a great You Tube clip by Disney about the Princess Half!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jd5Z5ZrccWo&NR=1

Woo Hoo! 10 months to go!

Oh, and Jeff's flight is now canceled and he has to grab a hotel and will get here around noon tomorrow. He has already been traveling for 24 hours straight (including one flight that was 19 hours). Needless to say, he is WILD.

Erika - yeah on the pedicure and the ride. Maybe you just needed a little 'me' time. Hope Jeff gets home with no problems tomorrow.

The video is awesome. I am starting to get excited about the 1/2...

Good Evening All!

Life is crazy busy for me right now, so much that I took some 'me' time last night. Loved it.

I am recharged and ready for more.

I hope everybody is doing ok. Looking forward to the weekend.

Hi!

Of course, it has been rainy here today.

Paula--LOVE your new bling! Refresh my memory, when did you start JC??

Amy - forgot to answer this question earlier... sorry. I started JC in September 2007. I am starting to come off of their food and eating my own food at this point. I would say I eat their food about 80% of the time. I want to be at 50% by the end of the summer and off of it entirely by the end of the year. Then I can work the rest of my loss and maintenance next year with an eye towards coming off the program entirely by summer. I am so scared about losing the support of my counselor, but I have to do it sometime right?

Oh and for all you want to be scrapbookers I have one word for you.... KITS!!!! They come all packaged with photos of the finished project, step by step instructions etc. Some of them even come with everything precut. It becomes a matter of cut, glue and paste. So easy...

umm...ok...but there's still the issue of getting the pictures off the camera :lmao:

speaking of which....I have pictures from San Antonio. :yay: Too tired to deal with them tonight. But I promise a picture or two tomorrow!

Quick check in. I thought I could spend more time here but the Gods are once again against me.

Shelby got hit while pitching in a game last night. Right on the TMJ in front of her right ear. You could hear it hit. It was horrifying to watch as a spectator and worse as a parent. The thing you never want to see. She did get up and finished pitching the inning against all begging and pleading. They lost the game too. It was a tie at that point. She refused to go to the hospital and I checked her over really well. She did not have a concussion and was just really sore. This morning, after a long night of checking on her for me, she is up and ready for school, sore, slightly swollen but none the worse for wear. Part of me wishes she would give in and just be hurt and the other part of me is proud of her for persevering through. She is definitely not my little girl anymore.

But that little girl did ask me to make her a smoothie this morning. Thank goodness we have protein powder and lots of fruit in the house for that.

So I won't be around today, or tomorrow but I will check in on Sunday and let you all know if she has fully recovered. Well, she is a teenage girl and has those brain lapses once in awhile so maybe I won't be able to tell so much...

Have a great day everyone and I hope it is sunny where you are!!!
