In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate... Vol. 6: Goddesses just want to have fun

LisaZ--like Lyz said in an earlier post, seems like you are around a lot more these days. Not sure what the reason is, but I sure am glad to see you here and I feel like I am getting to know you better! :goodvibes

Thanks so much for letting me play. ;)

As for me not wanting to show myself off, I do and I don't. I have no problem with people noticing me and my new body and I really don't care who sees it because I am damn proud of what I have accomplished so far. I do have a problem advertising it in the form of before and after pics at the gym. What I am doing is about me and not about publicity.

I get what you're saying. I would prefer to share before/after pictures with my friends and family -- not with strangers from the gym.

Not much to report on the guy front. Don't think much is going to come of that at this point, but we'll see. Just not getting a good vibe from this guy at the moment.

Got up this morning and finally went for a long bike ride.

Sorry about the unvibey guy. :lmao: But congrats on your bike ride -- I haven't made it out of my neighborhood yet. :cutie:

I say, own the past and be proud of the present. Even if you're not perfect, or at goal, or "done". We're never done, in this life. So why do we expect that of ourselves? Ever?

Very true.

I swear I must have been a mass murderer in a past life to get all this for facing sh!t.

And while we're at lucky. How lucky I am to have all of you to share all this.

I'm so sorry you have to deal with this garbage. And I'm sure I speak for everyone in saying that we are lucky to have you on this thread.

My father and I are and will be fine. He is the greatest example of someone "who just lived their life" . You know "move on" "get over it" "don't look at the past". You all might wonder why I do. He is why. He was my perfect example to not ignore knocking at the doors. He comes from tremendous pain and is lovely down deep but he struggles daily - when I was little - by the minute to keep the lid on so to speak. I see him struggle and I don't want it. I tried that for years and it doesn't work - just seeps in. It must suck to live in constant drama/irriation/agitation. Must suck. Me - I'm going to Disney World!!!!:rotfl::lmao::rotfl:

As someone who has spent a great deal of time trying not to be like my parents, I am with you 100%.

The shopping trip was pretty good. I didn't buy much, but what I did was a good deal and was a great boost to my ego. I bought a button down short that was a size 2X!!!! I have been buying 3X's for eons now, so this is a huge deal for me.

Awesome!!! :lovestruc

But did I tell you I'm going to Disney World!!!!:rotfl::lovestruc;)

I hope your trip is magical!!! :hippie:

Am I going to go to he!! for not having her come? It is a big occasion for him and although I would like his grandparents to be a part of it, their title by blood does not dictate unlimmited access to hurt either.

I am so sorry your MIL is being so childish. Wishing you good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Wow, a lot of postings from this group over the weekend! I got my parents to the airport on Sunday -- all of us breathing a sigh of relief to get our house back. I swear -- my parents open their mouths the second they arrive and don't stop for breath until they leave. My husband and I will sometimes glance over at each other and just barely keep from bursting into giggles.

Like many of you, I haven't been giving my weight much attention these days. I am eating okay, not fabulous, but okay. I'm exercising -- been doing various dvds from the library as well as my class twice a week. Honestly, right now, I'm pretty happy with the way I look and feel.

Happy Tuesday, everyone!

Chad's mom in name may no longer be my MIL but as a lady I have known since 18 she will always be a PIMA.

And as for Kelly giving advice! Duh! Great idea!

I am off to pick up Levaquin RX and one for Percocet. I have been feeling like crud since Sunday night and ran into the lab while there for Baylor. White count high and bacteria present. Glorious.

For those who have had pain meds or any medical background, what is the difference between vicodin and percocet? The doc asked which one I want and I usually get queezy with anything. Demerol is no longer safe and that was usually something I handled well.

I will check in later.

Steph I saw your post last week I think about mojitos. I would say the pitcher is good for several hours in the fridge. Of course the club soda starts to lose it fizz after awhile. Of course when I drink them, my pitcher is gone in a an hour! :rolleyes1 When I make sangria, I find it tastes even better after it has been in the fridge several hours or even overnight.

Amy - speaking of mojitos... can I get your famous recipe? Please......:upsidedow

Paula I would be happy to post the recipe. I got the recipe from the bacardi site and made some adjustments. I will post my adjusted version and some tips.

And STAR TREK. I loved it. For me it was about the eye candy. Chris Pine. Sigh. But I will say that I liked the story a lot more than I thought I would going into it. I don't feel the need to mock DH as much anymore for his ST infatuation. Roddy, what were your thoughts? I haven't gone back through all the posts yet, so if you have already posted, let me know.

And for anyone wanting some great pics from New Moon shooting in Italy, check out rob pattinson blogspot.

Erika Loved the cruise report and all the details and pictures! I think I would have about killed DH for wanting to stop for shoes or something like that on the way! Did you have to sign up ahead of time for spots in the kids area/daycare whatever it is called on the ship? or could you just drop off anytime?

LisaV HAVE FUN at Disney! The rain is back to normal here. I think. I hope.

Okay, off topic here.

Yesterday was Memorial Day in the States, and every year I complain about how no one remembers what this day is for - remembering those who died in military service to our country. Not supporting the troops or thanking vets, although those are good things, too. But it's not Armed Forces Day or Veterans Day (no apostrophe, BTW , as per the US Government). It's MEMORIAL DAY.

Anyway, so I was complaining and saying we should all pick a name to remember and think of on that day, and my good friend sent me this article. The fallen solider in question is her friend's husband. So if you'd like a person to remember, remember Jake's dad.

http://www.sptimes.com/2007/05/27/Features/A_story_for_Jake.shtml

It's a great article, and although I have never met Michelle, I can see why she is my friend's friend.

Okay, off my soapbox. Let me know if you read it and enjoy it.

Oh Sh!t, Amy :rotfl2: Potty mouth !

:lmao:

No, Amy. Paula and I were awaiting your triumphant return from your Grizzly Adams-esque excursion into the wondrous Floridian wilderness. I'll lay down my frame-work here and we'll go from there.

First of all, I probably need to watch the movie again, but I'm not going to until it comes out on DVD, my next stop is Terminator Salvation. I did my best to pay attention to every scene and every detail so I could talk the most intelligently about it. However, having swine flu, I was struggling with not coughing and sneezing during the movie so as to a) infect as few people as possible b) disturb the other viewers as few times as possible and c) draw as little attention to the fact that I had the flu and was coughing and sneezing in a public place. It also didn't help that before the movie even started, one of the little public service announcements they had up on the screen said, "Is the person next to you coughing and sneezing and spreading their germs? Be sure to respect others by sneezing or coughing into your shoulder and washing your hands thoroughly after using the restrooms that are located at either end of the building and by the concessions area". It was right after the word "germs?" in the first sentence that my loving younger brother (that I so lovingly protected as he was growing up) who has been a law enforcement officer for several years now and is suppose to protect and serve, especially his oldest brother (namely me) who, not to mention, bought his ticket and super large Mt Dew, turns and looks at me, grins like a ******* and says very loudly "YEEESSSSSS, BUAHHAHAHAHAHA" as he's wont to do in already embarrassing situations. :sad2:

Anyway, overall I enjoyed the movie. I have had a basic understanding of Star Trek since I was a kid. That being said, I by no means consider myself a Star Trek geek because I'm way too young to remember the original tv show and never got to see the reruns enough when I was younger. So, most of my Star Trek knowledge came from the old movies "Star Trek The Motion Picture" and "The Wrath of Khan" and so forth. I did love the fact that Leonard Nimoy was in the film as Spock Prime and the effects were awesome. Reading some of the reviews of the movie, maybe I enjoyed the movie so much because I'm not a Star Trek geek. I especially liked Chris Pine's subtle Shatner impression during his exam. :rotfl2:

I got in a 3.5 mile run today and that felt awesome, just awesome. Exactly what I needed. Tomorrow I will aim for a ride, as I am going to try really hard only to run every-other day since I am coming off of two injuries.

You say Star Trek, and all I hear is blah blah (Charlie Brown adult voice). This must be what it is like for the rest of you when we talk about Twilight. Or what computer talk sounds like to Nancy and LisaV! :rotfl2:

Much love to all. :lovestruc

I'm off. Brain, body everything is beyond fried. So spent. But off.

Love to all. Thank you so much.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!!!:dance3:

:woohoo: LisaZ is in a happy place! AND she's got her house back to herself!!! :woohoo:

no clue. Never taken either.

THANK YOU Honestly. As a military niece, sister, aunt and (soon) mother, I thank you for that reminder. Whether or not you agree with the current political stance, the fact remains that each and every one of us owe our freedom to those who believe strongly enough in it to defend it around the world.

:rotfl:Drink for me drinkers on Saturday. Drink for me.

And you know how I thought of that - I saw that Nancy posted!!!:lmao:

Make it a good one.

Actually with this kind of week - don't even wait for my birthday. Drink. Drink. Drink. And drink because I don't know where I'm sleeping Sunday night.

A lobby is an interesting place man. So interesting. Cutie you would love this action.

Okay, guess I have to pack. :rotfl::lmao::rotfl: Yes, I get ready exactly the way I do WDW.

\:lmao:From the belongings I shoved from my parents. Should be some interesting choices. :lmao:

HEY! When are you leaving? Tomorrow????? Do you need a sherpa? I'll gladly come and carry bags for you

Having a rum and coke right now, Lisa. With the kind of week I've had, yeah, I'm drinking on a random Tuesday night!

Have fun, fun, fun! And do tell us all about it when you return. Trip report required. With pics. :thumbsup2

I loved it! Yes, it was a tear-jerker, but it brings everything home.

LisaV - Have a great trip!!!!

Liz - thanks for the reminder...

Erika - whoo hoo on the run.

Not much going on here. Went to JC and lost 1.8 pounds this week. I had my training session tonight and it was kind of eh. Jesse was having a very off night. I did spend some time on the spinning machine tonight. Not sure if I like that or not yet, but it was a good workout. Need to build up some endurance for that machine and wear my bike shorts. That seat was uncomfortable...

Great job on the loss!!! As far as Jesse goes, do we need to remind him that he has a fan club? Maybe that will get him back to his normal jovial self.

Everybody ~ hello! Will be back sometime later. Need to unwind a bit.

Thanks...

He'll be fine in a day or two. He lost a client today and is worried about money. He just moved into a new apartment and money is tight. Of course, he hasn't comprehended that spending a couple of thousand dollars on a 65" flat screen television may not have been the best move. Oh to be 25 again...

If he doesn't cheer up, I'll remind him about the fan club...

Liz, just finished reading. Wow. Very well-written. And I definitely cried.
