In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate... Vol. 6: Goddesses just want to have fun

Kelly I will respectfully not mention Grey's! But yes you WILL NEED TISSUES for both the last two episodes. The finale is two hours so tissues for that and tissues for the week before!

It's raining here to! My mom just bought a bunch of flowers and wanted to go garden but the heavens OPENED!
Kelly what is it you do again for work? Oh and I totally get your slang! I am the SAME way!

Ooh, two weeks of tissues! I love Grey's!
I work in a Travel Agency - you would think the weather here would make people want to go to sunnier places :confused3
Im glad you get my slang - sometimes I think the things I say may not translate too well :lmao:

Kelly, I am watching the 2nd-to-last CSI:NY right now, and will follow it with the season finale... :P

I have taken to watching the CBS shows at the end of the week, as they are available on our cable-on-demand, and for whatever reason they broadcast the season finale in the same week? :confused3

Can't believe you are going to watch the CSI:NY finale! Tonight is CSI:NY night here too, Im not sure how far away we are from the end of the series. According to the TV guide tonights episode says "The team investigate the murder of a Native American chief found dead on the subway, but all the suspects are foreign and don't speak English"

I daren't look online to see how many episodes are left - I wouldn't be able to stop reading the spoilers! :rotfl:

ERIKA - I can't believe I forgot to say earlier - WELCOME BACK! Definitely spend time with your family, I can't believe its so soon that your Husband goes to Asia. How long is he gone for?

I think that you are about halfway through.

I just finished watching it. O. M. G. I think I hate the writers, now.

Hey all!

LisaV - I can't believe your sponge tutorial. So funny. I like the chocolate covered "honeycomb". I'll buy some and take a picture. Yes, I know, it'll be hard, but I'm always willing to take one for the team.

We've been BUSY recitaling this weekend. Here are some pics of my girly girl.

Aww! She looks adorable!!! I love her smile. So like her mom, that beam.

Steph - fun texting with you last night!

Amy - how did your parents like Bruuuuuce the other night?

Paula - Nick says you can kidnap me for Bruuuuce anytime!

Lisa V - no idea what this sponge stuff is. Never had it. Hmm.

Sunny - HI!!!!

Dawn - OMG, Baylor. I so get that. I would have wanted to say the same. Last night at the show. this 20 something girl was complaining "I don't understand people who sit down at Bruce, that's just wrong" and on and on. My mom was sitting down, during a slow song, in front of her. I wanted to turn around and say "My mom is going through chemo and she's tired, you insensitive b$tch." I mean, you can see she has no eyebrows or lashes and is obviously bald beneath the head scarf.

But sadly, one day that girl will probably know someone who goes through cancer and she'll learn first hand what it's like. Which is really the saddest part. My mom didn't care, but I did. I didn't say anything, but I think you were right to defend Baylor.

Bruce was great. I'm tired. I'm eating crap. Weighing on Monday, though. :thumbsup2

Lyz~ Maddie looks beautiful! Love the green! That is Sams favorite color. She now wants me to paint her room that color! With a PINK ceiling! :scared1:

Liz~ I had fun texting too! I was sitting around the fire with the kids while they fished. I still may go back to get that bag! I saw a Tommy Hilfiger purse that I really loved. Sam wants to go through all her clothes and turn them in and get some new stuff!

Dawn~ all I can say is people are sometimes very insensitive, we see it a lot with Zac getting shots people tend to STARE a lot! Some times Zac feels out of place but other times he says to me they just think I am BRAVE cuz I can take a needle without CRYING! I always tell him you are right buddy you are brave!

So nothing new here new for me! Work again tonight, and tomorrow and the next day. Last night we were all complaining that we were working the weekend and I said well lets be thankful that we have a job, we could be layed off.

Ok off to do some research about insulin pumps... we are going to try one out in June to see if we like and zac likes!:yay:

Lots to say, little time.

LisaV - your description of toffee sponge (or whatever it's called) is about as clear as mud! :rotfl2: God. Now I have to google it. :rolleyes1

Lyz - OMG. So cute :lovestruc

Dawn - good comeback. :thumbsup2

Liz - biting your tongue. So freakin' hard sometimes, isn't it?

back later....hope everyone is having a good weekend!

Racing like mad to get J ready for his trip...be back later. Then I will have all kinds of time for the next few weeks.

totally Drunk post here. testing out different sangria recipes!

Liz-My parents loved BruuuuucE. I actually have not gotten to talk them about it much yet since they are so wrapped up in my brother's drama but, I just know a bit from what my mom posted on FB. He needs to play FL more often. He played here last year and I had some work conference or something.

Steph-We need to discuss your rubbing alcohol mojito. (from what I saw on FB). I can help you.

Lyz-Love the pics of Maddie!

YES we do I do have your recipe that you posted when you first joined us so I will try that out! Yes it tasted like rubbing alcohol! YUCK! I maybe the granddaughter of a bartender but i am not one! :rolleyes1

Ok this was a quick drive by since i am at work and internet is frowned upon here!

Wow, Lyz--that was a super early wake-up call!

I'm baaa---aaaack! Vacation was wonderful. We stretched it out to the very last minute of Sunday night. Yesterday was Jeff's birthday and was great. He then left at 3am for Korea and then Taiwan. The kids put on a "show" for him and it was hysterical! OMG, love those kids. They had singing and music and dancing and skits, etc. SO funny.

Food and fitness: Ok, so obviously I gained on vacation. I ate. A lot. At WDW, everything was fine. I never eat a ton there (weird, I know). But I ate well and with all of the walking, I was probably ahead of the game heading into the cruise.

Cruise--I ate. The food was GOOD. And Palo was INCREDIBLE, but I will do TRs for those days in a bit.

My running sucks. It has taken a real beating between the two injuries followed by vacation. The good news, though, is that I am healed and healthy. But I have a LOOOONG way to go to get back to where I was. I can't believe how much ground I have lost.

LisaPR/Nancy/Amy--HELP! How long will it take to build back up? Right now, 3.5 miles feels like a lot. That is what I ran on Friday and it was a struggle! I am so disheartened.

Lyz--great pics of Mad!

Ok, off to catch up on everyone else.

Ugh. it's Monday. None of that perky crap. ;)

WORD!!!!

Now that I got that out of my system. The weekend at camp was just what I needed. A nice escape from life and a reconnection with my parents :goodvibes. My father was Mr. Grumpy McGrumpypants on Saturday when I got there. He was very short with me over something really stupid (like keys) and started swearing at me in Italian. I looked at him and asked was that really necessary? He apologized and started to cheer up a bit. By the end of the weekend, he was closer to his usual self, but not fully there yet. I guess the stress of his surgery and mom's procedures this week is finally getting to him. On the plus side, he is getting around well on his new knee and losing weight (I take after him so his losing weight is a good thing).

The only blips in the weekend were the rain (no biking) and the snacking that always seems to happen while at camp. I didn't go hog wild or anything, but it was definitely more than I should have. I did get a good walk in with the dog so that will help. We'll see the results tonight.

Oh - I am craving a greasy burger and fries like there is no tomorrow at the moment. I have to go to this one independant grocery store and buy a burger patty to cook up. They have all different types of burgers (including turkey and chicken burgers) with things like blue cheese or mushrooms and swiss in them. I am hoping that I can grill up one of these along with some oven roasted fries and trick my craving. Otherwise, I may have to bite the bullet and go to Five Guys for a real burger. It is wierd, because I am not a big burger eater (I eat about 6 a year kind a thing) so when I crave one, I have to have it. OK - I am blabbering now...

Lyz - Maddie is too cute in her dance costume... How was the recital?

Nancy - Seth looked very handsome in his prom photos.

Erika - Safe travels for Jeff. Can't wait for the trip report.

Steph - listen to Amy on the mojito advice. When made right, they are yummy.

Liz - glad you and your mom had such a great time at the concert. You are so on if he comes back up here again.

Sunny - a one pound gain is nothing. It will be history in no time at all...

Kelly - enjoy your season finales. I am with Kat. I am not sure I like the writers of CSINY either.

Kat - are you ready for the next round of the playoffs?

Amiee - how was your weekend?

Dawn - prom pics? you know how we need our pics around here...

Hi to everyone else... Hope you all had a great weekend...

Ok, so I made it to my desk. Last week was the longest week of my life. I can breath today.

Paula - glad your dad chippered up! Hope your burger/fries substitute does the trick!

So I am on today. I've decided to go low carb for the week. I am tired of treading water only to push myself under. I need a rebound. I know it's gimmicky, but right now, it's better than where I've been.

EriKa - get on those trip report installments. I can't wait!!!! :yay::yay: (Don't make me use the dancing banana!)

Cruise--I ate. The food was GOOD. And Palo was INCREDIBLE, but I will do TRs for those days in a bit.

That is my biggest hesitation about going on a cruise. Really. I am so fearful of packing on the pounds

LisaPR/Nancy/Amy--HELP! How long will it take to build back up? Right now, 3.5 miles feels like a lot. That is what I ran on Friday and it was a struggle! I am so disheartened.

 I get that. You work so hard and <poof> gone. In what seems like an instant! :headache: Those muscles that were injured and now healed need time to rebuild their strength. Just try to be patient & take it slow - I wouldn't expect it to take too long.

The only blips in the weekend were the rain (no biking)

bummer.:sad2:

Those burgers sound SOOO good. Much better than the greasy Five Guys - at this point, all that fat would probably give you stomach cramps that you'd prefer not to experience

Nancy - Seth looked very handsome in his prom photos.

:flower3: Thanks

EriKa - get on those trip report installments. I can't wait!!!! :yay::yay: (Don't make me use the dancing banana!)

Now she's resorting to threats  Don't test her Erika - you know she'll do it!

um - Steph? - Rubbing alcohol? Really? Apparently something went awry...:lmao:

We FINALLY had our bank closing this morning. It took freakin' for.ever. to get that loan refinanced. But it's done. And all is good. :thumbsup2

I ordered a bathing suit from Lands End a couple weeks ago.

It's in the package still. Unopened. Taunting me. Daring me to try it on. But so far, I've held firm. Soon I'm going to kick the package under the bed so I don't have to look at it anymore.

Of course - Stephen opened the pool this weekend...:scared:

Nancy - Congrats on the closing. Now go tell that swimsuit who is boss or do I need to call Erin in on this one... You will try it on when you are good and ready to try it on right?

I am so hating being at work right now. Just don't want to be here. Good thing next week is a short week.

Hey all...Feeling like total A$$ today. Just allergies, I think but it could be a little cold. And it is raining, so I have been super lazy and sleepy all day.

Nancy-Woo-hoo on the closing! ( I want to use an emoticon, but I can't see any)

Erika-Not sure about the running. I would think it will take way less time to build back up now. That is what I have read anyhow. I am pretty much in the same boat since I chose to cut way back on my running after my last race in April. I am ready to recommit now though. I want to have a decent base when it comes time to train for the Mickey. I have a 5K on June 12th.

That is about all from here.

DH's birthday is tomorrow, so we are heading over to Disney again. It will probably be rainy off and on, but I don't mind that so much.

Have a good day everyone!

Trip Report – Day 4 (Cruise Day 1)

If we had a bad day during the whole vacation, this was it. I had planned to be up and out of the villa by 9:30. Totally doable, right? We could easily sleep in and still get out in a reasonable amount of time. I really wanted to get to the Port between 10:30 -11 because the Podcasters were having a Kid Meet in the Cruise Terminal. I thought it would be good for my kids to meet some other kids before being thrown into the kids club.

After we got everything all packed and everyone had some breakfast (again, loving DVC and having a full kitchen), we did manage to get out before 10am. A few minutes later than I would have liked, but not bad.

Valet brought the car up, and after spending way too much time, we got all of the luggage in. My husband has to “engineer” everything. I am willing to bet that Nancy knows what I mean. ;)

Finally, we are off to the Port! I program the address in our GPS and we are good to go. But first, Jeff says, he wants to stop at Dunkin Donuts to get a coffee. Um, ok. And you didn’t do that at the BCV marketplace why? Whatever. I am confident we will pass a DD on the way, so I decide to let it go.

It takes longer than I would like to find DD, but again, we are on our way so I am ok. We should still make it to the port by about 11-ish.

Here is where my husband, the world traveler, the one who goes all over Asia and God’s green Earth, turns into the American Tourist from Hell. He decides that this exact moment is the perfect time for him to get a new pair of Crocs. Not traditional crocs, but the new flip flop kind. And not in any of the color combinations, but black-on-black. I suggest that it would be easier to order them online as that way he can get exactly what he wants (as most stores do not carry all of the different styles of Crocs, just the basic ones). No good, he has to have them for the cruise. Has to. :headache:

Thank goodness we had the GPS or things would have taken even longer. I pull up some shoe stores and we get directed to the nearest one. It is Sunday morning and it doesn’t open till 11. Great. Off to the next one. Can you imagine my attitude at this point? Finally, we hit pay dirt at the THIRD shoe store. He got the exact Crocs he wanted. It is now 11 and we are just leaving the Disney area. It will take about an hour to get to the Port. I have totally missed the Kid Meet and will, in fact, miss the characters as they come into the terminal to welcome everyone on board. Crap. I really wanted that.

The hour drive to the port is uneventful. Thankfully. We cross the bridge into Port Canaveral and there it is…the Disney Wonder! We all cheer! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: Back to being happy and excited. We are maybe half a mile away or so and can easily see the enormity of the ship. So impressive.

We get off at the appropriate exit and hit a WALL of traffic. Seriously, we moved maybe one block in 15 minutes. All the while I am *suggesting* to Jeff that maybe we are in the wrong lane. We snap back and forth and he keeps saying, “YOU drive then, if you are such the expert.” :furious: Again, I let it go. I am earning MAJOR Heaven points, I figure.

Finally, he takes my suggestion and gets out of the line and does a U-turn. Thank goodness because it was totally the wrong line. However, this puts us on the wrong side of the Port and we now have to find our way back to the ship. Not as easy you might think. All one-way streets and such. I make Jeff ask directions and we get to the port. It is 12:30. OMG. I had wanted to be there 2 hours earlier. :scared:

Once at the Disney terminal, however, everything is a breeze. We unload our luggage and the wonderful porters take it away and it will magically appear in our staterooms in a couple of hours. Brilliant (that’s for you, Kelly :goodvibes).

Jeff goes to park the car while the kids and I head up to get in line to register and get checked in. I know from reading that this is going to be a 15-20 minute process. We get in line and it is a quick wait until it is our turn. I present all of our paperwork and mine and the kids’ passports. Smooth sailing. Just waiting for Jeff so we can all be checked in. Just as we are finishing, he arrives at the check-in desk. Perfect timing. Except. One. Thing. Again, here is Mr. World Traveler. The guy who is on his third passport because he actually FILLS all of the pages he travels out of the country so much. He packed his passport in his luggage. The one we gave the porter. The one that is now somewhere in the belly of the ship with a million other bags waiting to be sorted and placed in staterooms. :headache: :headache::mad::headache:

I VERY calmly (super proud of myself here) explain to him that I will take all 3 kids and finish the registration process for us. This means getting our pics taken and getting the kids registered for the clubs (they need bar-coded wrist bands and I need a pager that is linked to their bar codes, etc.). I (still) calmly explain that I can take care of the FOUR of us. By myself. The only thing he needs to do is get himself on the ship. I point out Guest Relations and tell him to go explain the situation to them and they will do what they can. But the kids and I are going to finish the registration process and he can meet us if/when he deals with his situation.

By some incredible miracle, those CMs found the right piece of luggage just as the kids and I were boarding the ship. I swear, it must have only been 10 minutes. VERY impressive. We can now all board. It is about 1:15.

We walk through the big Mickey ears and they announce our names in the Atrium. “Welcoming the Anderson-Small family on board!”

DisneyCruiseMay2009002.jpg

And the CMs all cheer and throw confetti. :cool1::cool1::cool1: It is fun and exciting, but also very loud and chaotic as other families are all getting on board and being announced too. They direct us right up to Deck 9 where we can have the buffet lunch and the kids can swim in the Mickey Pool.

--this day will have multiple installments. Next one and pics coming--
