In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate... Vol. 6: Goddesses just want to have fun

The amazing things that happen when you are commited. :worship:

:lmao: I'm thinking that it's amazing that I haven't BEEN committed :rolleyes1 (cue the men in white coats)

Liz - those pic's are wonderful. Such a little miracle girl. Hope you all are getting some rest. Pace yourself honey. It's gonna be a long haul for them.

LisaPR - nice job on the run. I remember finding it very difficult to find my running mojo after my marathon. Once my goal was completed I floundered for a while.

Lyz - I'm with you. If I ever one the lottery (well, first I'd have to play..;)) I'd want to remain anonymous (did I spell that wrong? Looks wrong. Eh whatever ). Money changes people - and I wouldn't want people asking me for stuff, or expecting me to give them $$. I'd just want to be able to silently help those who need it, kwim? Oh, and of course I'd do stuff for ME too...:upsidedow

Erika - the countdown continues.:yay:

Amiee- didn't float away, surprisingly enough. Only woke up once :thumbsup2

Dawn - graduation. Ugh. I'm going to be a puddle :sad2: I nearly burst into tears in the parking lot yesterday when I was talking to a mom I know whose son is a sophomore at the school Seth is attending next fall.

Steph -:woohoo: on a job offer. Good news. Hope it works out for you.

Paula, Kat, Amy, Kelly, LisaV, Ronda, Roddy (where the heck are you man?), Sunny....yikes. Did I forget anyone? hope not! HI guys!

Had my session with Erin this morning. :headache: She is NOT a nice person sometimes  She totally kicked our butts this morning.

:lmao: I'm thinking that it's amazing that I haven't BEEN committed :rolleyes1 (cue the men in white coats)

Nancy - didn't they tell you... the men in the white coats should be arriving anytime now. It is best not to fight them. Resistance is futile...

Had my session with Erin this morning. :headache: She is NOT a nice person sometimes  She totally kicked our butts this morning.

No one said she would be nice all the time. Glad the butt kicking went well. I have my torture session tonight. Should be an experience...

Later folks...

Hi!

Thanks so much for all the birthday wishes! EPCOT was a blast! Managed to drink from every country except Norway. And DH drank most of the USA beer. We did a few rides in Future World and then hung out in the countries. Lunch at japan and dinner at morocco. Surprisingly I was NOT hungover on Sunday! :thumbsup2 And NO swine flu hysteria at WDW.

Liz-- Thanks so much for sharing the pictures of Gen. SO SO precious. :goodvibes

Paula--WTG on the loss! :yay:

Erika-Your shoes sound awesome!

LisaV-

Kelly-Hope you are feeling better. :goodvibes

I went shopping today for some summer clothes, or I guess living in FL, you could call them all year clothes! Found some shorts I LOVED at old Navy. Not too long, not too short, perfect rise. So I wanted to get more than one. And they only had one pair in my size in a decent normal color!! Pretty much all that was left was size zero or size 2. I did get the one pair and a few shirts.

I am off to spread mulch. Yeah!

I killed the thread! :tiptoe::tiptoe: Back to lurking.....

I have an announcement...

after days and days and days of having not one second of alone time, the kids are going back to school tomorrow! A day early! The CDC changed the guidelines now that they see that those who actually get this flu don't get all that sick.

And it gets even better.

All 3 kids have playdates after school tomorrow...at OTHER people's houses!

So I am officially kid-free tomorrow from 7:30 am - 5:00pm. :faint:

I will actually be able to take my time and pack properly, double-check things, make sure everything is in order. All of it. I am beyond psyched!

Erika - congrats on tomorrow's kid free zone!!!! Happy packing.

Quiet night huh... Not much going on here either. Jesse totally kicked my bummocks tonight. So I am off to make my lunch and then head for bed.

Talk to you all tomorrow,
Paula

Liz - love to Jodi, her husband (Greg? Am I just pulling that name out of nowhere like Nancy's iron issues? :lmao:) and Genvieve.

One of my nieces was just over a pound. (Sister had preeclampsia and almost died) And is now six. It's wild, eh? Used to visit her all the time in NICU but she was born during SARS so then we couldn't go. I should post pics. It's good to see where they can go these tiny babes. '

So thrilled for them. And thrilled for Auntie Liz as well. :lovestruc to you. You are always on my mind Liz.

Paula. Paula. Paula. Fanflippintastic Paula!

Lisa PR - pics? where? You don't know how Cutie and I hound. :rotfl:

Okay guys. Love you. Miss you. :lovestruc to all. I've gone some dark places with the changes. And I'm leery of sharing that. It's draining enough just to feel it. Laughing. I'm so overly sensitive. Oh Lord - Serenity prayer now.

Nancy - :lmao: on the hot tub. Bizarre, eh? I was in such pain from a workout and stress and I go "What can I do? What can I do?" And light bulb. Oh there's a hot tub on my roof. Oh yeah!

Humans so insatiable. Hot tubs - forget them. Lake view. Stop seeing the lake. Geez.

Hi Dawn! :surfweb:

Good Morning... Wakey, wakey everyone...

It has been really quiet around here lately. Must mean that folks are busy.

Hope everyone is well.

Hum, was it a city contracted ambulance? If it was lawsuit is written all over this one.
Yes it was. I was totally shocked since the swearig was at the situation not the person to start with.
Dawn, what kind of diet are you following to get your insulin levels back to normal? I'm more than willing to assist with some tips. Give me some examples of what you are doing and I can probably let you know how long it will take to get to normal again. :thumbsup2
I am supposed to be following a diabetic diet. Please offer any great suggestions. Any so so suggestions is fine as well.:lmao:

:lmao: I'm thinking that it's amazing that I haven't BEEN committed :rolleyes1 (cue the men in white coats)
Too funny!

I cannot even imagne! Watching BL last night and their marathon experience gave me a whole new appreciation.

Saw a local foodie in Maine last night on the travel channel and I want to tell you that the countryside is amazing. If I won the lottery I would get a cabin/camp there for sure!
Erika - the countdown continues.:yay:
Very exciting indeed!

Dawn - graduation. Ugh. I'm going to be a puddle :sad2: I nearly burst into tears in the parking lot yesterday when I was talking to a mom I know whose son is a sophomore at the school Seth is attending next fall.
I need to get grad announcements sent out - one month ahead of time should be okay ya think?
Steph -:woohoo: on a job offer. Good news. Hope it works out for you.
Fingers crossed!

Bruises?:lmao:

Sounds like a great day and love mulch!
Nothing got done here yesterday that I needed to for work. Lost access to home phone, cell and internet due to a main cable being cut for most of the day. Whole town out of whack!

Sale this weekend and I will be happy to have my garage back!

Ortho appt for Baylor and then a day of pricing fun!

Dawn - don't know if I know the winner. They haven't come forward. And if they are smart - they won't!!! They'll get their money quietly. I could so use 75M right now.

YOU & ME BOTH SISTER!!!! AND I wouldn't change a thing! Pay off my house BIlls and cars and maybe buy a house really really close to DISNEY! It's funny every time there is a HUGE jackpot and we play thats the first thing Stephen says he wants to do is fly right to DISNEY! Bring the whole family If we were to win !

I just was listening to a local radio station and they brought up a situation where a 17 year old girl was refused an ambulance because before a 911 call was picked up, she said the F word.

I was wondering what you guys thought or if you had heard of it.

Here is the link. It is from a tv station so the words are bleeped out.
http://www.boingboing.net/2009/05/04/911-police-officer-r.html

Ok I didn't get to hear all of the video but I heard ENOUGH! OMG he should had been fire right on the spot! I did read through all the comment and It seem most people agree witht hat ...then of course you have a few who didn't and they were probably those wonder police officers that think they are ABOVE the LAW. We have a few here in this town.. ticket for no seatbelt and they aren't wearing one. SPEEDING... Ha! they drive 100 down the interstate we drive 73...... TICKET! I do a roll look and go at a stop sign and I get a ticket while that trooper did a U turn DID NOT STOP AT THE SAME STOP SIGN AND SPEED THROUGH THE VILLAGE TO GIVE ME A TICKET!...... I THINK YOU HIT A SENSITIVE AREA HERE FOR ME DAWN:rotfl2:

Ok so I have a JOB INTERVIEW this afternoon! :woohoo::woohoo:
Not sure how it will go~ It really comes down to the all mighty dollar$$$$$$$$$$$
That is the make or break point. Because who wouldn't want a M - F 9-6 job.... me sometimes.. why??? because I love the SUN and I were to work normal business hours.... then I wouldn't see it much. Do you realize that in the 8 jobs that I have had almost all I have worked the evening shift..... with the exception of the three retail stores where I work open to close but that was 9-6. NOt sure what to do! I guess I am just comfortable in my job and the thought of change scares me a bit.... Did I mention that my boss told me I WAS A BRIGHT SHINING STAR DURING MY REVIEW! YEAH , I almost fell off my chair!

Liz~ my old baby sitter her son was born @ 24 weeks and he weighed 1lbs 12 oz. Tyler is 6 months older and was 10 lbs at birth and they are now both 6 and both the same size. He had to do some PT & OT and speech for a while to get caught up to kids his age but he is right there now with them and enjoying Kindergarten.

Erika ~ Enjoy your trip! I want lots of pictures when you come back!

AMY ~ so glad your birthday celebration was good! I would love to drink around the world! That is my goal to someday NOT have children and my mother with me at disney and be able to do that.

LisaV~ Hope you are doing better!

Steph ~ GOOD LUCK!!

Paula ~ I haven't asked for a while, but are things getting any better at your job?

LisaV ~ Hang in there! It has to get better.

Dawn ~ I will send some ideas to you on the flip side.

It's another raining day here. Bugs, my God, the bugs. They are everywhere. There homes are flooded.

Things are all right. I am kind of in a maintaining mode for the next three - six months at least (which is nice because I am able to focus on other things for a while - like me for a change).

The fact is there are no other jobs to go to (either within or outside of my company) so I need to make the best of the situation here. Plus, I become fully vested in the company's profit sharing plan in August so that is a huge incentive to stick around (I am 0% vested right now, its an all or nothing kind of deal). On the plus side, there have been some favorable signs telling me that things are starting to get better and I just need to be patient.

Still, it is a little strange to be so slow at work during this time of the year. Usually, I am swamped from now until October / November. Guess that means more time for golf and biking...

Thanks for asking. :goodvibes

Things still quiet on your end?

Steoh - good luck on the interview...

LisaV - thinking of you. Take it easy through all of this...

Steph - I too was appalled at his actions. I have a mouth on me and when frusterated...esp. if I thought my family memeber was dying...I would swear like a sailor.
You cannot imagine my language in the 20 minute drive trying to get to Baylor's side when he was burned. Worst thing I have ever experienced.

Paula - what kind of food do you pack for lunch at work?

looking forward to my food tips!:goodvibes

Dawn--food tips:

--No crap
--No pretzel dogs, no KFC, no fast food
--Plenty of fresh, natural products. Fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains.
--lots of water
--track it all

For exercise:

--45 minutes 4x/week

Given where you are starting from, do just this and you will drop 50 pounds. It really isn't hard at the beginning stages (yeah, those last 10-20 pounds, we'll get to all of THAT stuff when you get there), but for right now, it isn't rocket science. Avoid the crap, eat the healthy, don't gorge or stuff yourself, and move your body more today than you did on this day last week. And if you are eating natural foods like those just mentioned, then you will be following a good insulin diet as well.

I have to say, though, I am not sure why you are asking for food tips??? You KNOW this stuff. You have been here for the full 18 months of the thread. This has been said and said and said and said....:lmao::rotfl2:

I typically bring a small salad w/ my own oil and vinegar dressing along with my JC lunch entree. The entrees are usually anything from a turkey burger, to a panini or a hot pocket type sandwich. Sometimes it is a rice and beans type thing. The nutritional breakdown is as follows:

- 2 meat servings (35 - 55 calories per serving and less than 3 grams of fat)
- 2 starch servings (80 - 100 calories per serving, 15 g carbs, 3 g protein and less than 3 g of fat)
- 1 fat serving (approx 45 calories per serving and 5 g of fat)
- 1 - 2 vegetable servings (non starchy so no beans, corn, peas, potatoes, winter squashes, etc).

The JC entrees are between 200 - 270 calories each.

When I choose to eat a non JC lunch, it is usually 1/2 sandwich with whole grain bread, lean turkey, mustard and a small salad. Sometimes I splurge a little (and have chicken souvlaki from my favorite street vendor), but it is rare and then I look at what I am eating for the rest of the day so I don't go over my calories. I am eating about 1500 calories a day now.

Hope this helps...

Steph - good luck on your interview :thumbsup2

Erika - How long till you leave :cool1: (that was cool for your holiday, not cool because you wont be here!) :rotfl:

Liz - How is that precious baby girl doing?

Everyone - Hi :flower3:

Tonight is my first official 'Bounce back to WW Baby!' weigh-in (I gave it that name to make it sound more appealing and happy - better than 'get yourself to WW fata*s!) :rotfl:
So, tonight I will find out how far away I am from goal - again! :rotfl2:

Have a great day everyone :cool2:

Paula - Thanks for the lunch menu. I will pass it along to my sister bwho is looking for some new ideas for taking stuff to work. I have the privalege of a full kitchen since I work from home and I eat lots of things. She is at a place where there is a microwave only and she is very picky with her foods/not an out of a box thinker for food so I am always looking for other things for her. :goodvibes

E - I wasn't sure what the insulin tips might be she offered and as a recipie junkie...one can never have too much!

Nancy - what was the recipie download you had said you used to input homemade foods into? I had it saved in my notes but lost it in the comuter crash and looking through millions of posts did not sound like a great time.:surfweb: Thanks!:worship:
