In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate... Vol. 6: Goddesses just want to have fun

I could never sell him, but I would have asked for a refund!! :rotfl2:

I've tried to return mine before - his mother wouldn't take him :lmao:

And the girl that got "fired" I will be taking her Job which is early afternoons 11am till 730 pm. And it's full time!!

Are you looking forward to a fixed schedule? I'm thinking how stressful to never know who's going call out, or whatever and then get a last-minute call to come to work!

And full-time. Does that bring benefits?

WW - I understand where you are coming from on that. Hopefully when you get on a more predictable schedule, other things will fall into place as well

Anyway, today she hit a bona fide homerun. Meaning over the fence as opposed to inside the park. And the bases were loaded. Grand Slam Homerun.

:yay: Look at that lil' slugger go! That's awesome!

I'm packing & still researching like crazy. I'm considering pulling off a special dinner night (in addition to Taylor's princess afternoon & Ryan's unbirthday celebration at Benihana's). Kona? Cali Grill? Maybe Sanaa? Debating. If anybody has suggestions, I am open.

Remind me when it is you leave?

Lyz - how was the sale???

Hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend. Weather here is perfect, and I am so beyond busy it's not even funny. :headache:

Good Morning...

What a beautiful day in the northeast today. Already got my bike ride in and am feeling great. Had an awesome workout yesterday with Jesse and then spent the rest of the day at camp so to quote a t-shirt, life is good.

Too bad, it has to end when I go back to work tomorrow... Maybe I should start thinking about taking a mini vacation this summer...

Anyways -

Amiee - love the idea of a special dinner. Can't offer any ideas since I have no idea how to plan a vacation that involves people under the age of 30...

Nancy - how is the new goat doing. Still staying put?

Erika - Kelly's grand slam is just awesome!!!! Good luck in the playoffs.

Lyz - sale details???

Dawn - have you dehydrated yet from all the crying?

OK - have to run, need to get to church...

Hi to everyone else...

Catch up with you all later,
Paula

Hi! I am so thrilled to actually have a full day at home with NOTHING in our schedules. Incredible. Of course, Jeff and I are spending the day getting stuff done around the house (we have been so busy that everything is out of whack around here).

Dawn--Congratulations to Treyner! Tell us all about that day! It is such a momentous occasion. I know that I will be an absolute fountain of tears when I get to that point.

LisaPR--yikes! That is a TOUGH decision you have to make. What is your gut saying? I know that the extra income sounds super appealing right now. But think about your overall lifestyle as well. Would you be happy with the new schedule? The kids? Hang in there.

Nancy--yes, goat stories! And I am SO bummed that you didn't make it to Maine. Well, I am sure I will be down in Storrs at some point this summer, so maybe we can work something out then.

EE--what a good choice to have to make, huh? :goodvibes I would be tempted to do Sanaa, too, but I don't think it would be a great choice in terms of food for the kids, though it might not matter because of the view. How about something on the Boardwalk? That way you can have an evening on the Boardwalk as well. Just thinking out loud.

Steph--looks like you have some job decisions to make as well! How do you feel about the schedule change? What will you do with the kids all summer while you are working that shift?

Lyz--yard sale info. And more hog stories. Word.

Kat--awesome that you are fighting your back on the wagon! Hope to join you tomorrow!

Liz--miss you!

Paula--WOW on the ride! Awesome! You are inspiring!

LisaV--been thinking about you a lot recently. Hope things are working out. Let us know.

Hey ladies!

Word to the above post. Kat! I am also proud of you for fighting your way back to the wagon.

Kelly's grand slam! How adorable.

I am exhausted. I cleaned out my house Friday and tagged all my yard sale items and prepped for it. Saturday, yard sale. It was so hot. Around 80. I sat there, about ready to die, wondering how I was going to get thru this summer. Oh, how I hate the outdoors and heat. I made $300. Which I was happy with. And my house is decluttered, which really is priceless. My phone cell phone died in the heat I had it on the money table - and at some point it just stopped working. I've tried to reset it, no go. I hope it's ruined, I wouldn't mind getting a different one (yes, I have insurance on it).

Today I am taking it easy. Had to work in the nursery at church. Already been to the grocery store. Now for a big ol Sunday napper.

Steph - geesh - the pool, have you been swimming in it yet, or just prep so far?

Hey everybody!

I hope everybody is having a good weekend.

Dont know how much I can help, but dh and I were in disney in April by ourselves for the first time without our children --- we ate at Cali Grill is was horrible!!! Service was horrible, food was just OK - honestly, nothing special!!

Kona is wonderful, food and service is always good --- you are close together though (just an FYI)

We were back again in May, to celebrate my grad with the kids, and for the second time (first time being in April) we went back to Yachtsmans Steak house!! All I can say is OMG it is wonderful!! We love La Cella, but truly yachtsmans takes the award over them all!!

Just my 2 cents .......

Kevin LOVES Yachtsman as well. It is definitely the best steakhouse on property (so says the vegetarian! :lmao:). Le Cellier is definitely done. It has been getting bad reviews consistently, whereas Yachtsman is getting raves.

EE--maybe your little guy would like T-Rex? Ok, yes, it is over-themed and loud. But it wasn't nearly as loud as I thought it would be (after listening to Kevin), it is 100% kid friendly, and guess what? The food was good. This was our November trip (we didn't eat there in May). But of our November trip, it was one of our top meals. The kids all asked to go back when we were there last month. The menu is HUGE. We went for a late lunch at like 2-ish, so we walked right in and again, it wasn't too chaotic. And we got Riley a plush at the dino-themed Build-a-Bear that is connected to the restaurant.

Happy Sunday Afternoon!

First - grad night was beautiful. It was a high of 75 that day and the ceremony started at 7 with a cool breeze and not a cloud in the sky. In nice weather we graduate in the high school football/soccer fields. It is an unusual field that sits in the middle of town down in a bowl with stone surrounding it that they brought in from nearby quarries. I think it was built in the 40's if I am not mistaken and although the school is not near it and many nights you wished for better parking since it is only housed streets/and a highway surrounding it, it is pretty amazing.

A bald eagle flew over right when the first speaker got up. That was amazing. The speaker not so much.:sad2: It was a boy who was revenge of the nerds- afied and spoke of the future from teachers perspectives. Science, art, history etc., etc. You could tell he would be the know it all in each classroom that the rest of the class would want to throttle.

I felt like he thought it was a debate speech with a party of one and he was trying to win. He talked F_O_R_E_V_E_R. The lady next to me asked if anyone had a blow dart to put her out of her own misery. :lmao:

They had a school board member speak also and it was blah blah blah. It seems so much of a waste of time to have people who do not know these kids speak. I would prefer 10 or so kids doing 3 minute mini rememberances than the school board representation just because it is standard.

The 3 student speaker picked by the student's though, were great. I was really proud of their choices.
#1 - a girl who is autistic - She plays LaCrosse, tries out for everything and doesn't let her handicap alter her drive. She wants to be a writer and the kids adore her quirkiness.
#2 a former drug addict and alcoholic who last summer got sober and changed beyond recognition. In Sept. he needed 2/3 of his HS credits to graduate and finished them in one year!
#3 An art major girl who is pretty popular and was more mainstream but still did well.

413 kids graduated and I DID NOT CRY during the ceremony. After, when it was us on the field, I teared up. The place means so much to Treyner that it was the end of not only school, but his sports that we speant so many hours here.

The all night grad party was a blast. They start out w/ so much "Money" and can play games to win more. Then they can buy the prizes donated with the money they have. Later there was a hypnotist. Treyner got beach towels, a travel suitcase, a Rubbermaid tote - all practical stuff.

We bought a used van this weekend! It is 13 years old but looks new! We looked at how much a rental was going to cost us several times this summer and decided it was more cost efficient to have it. Plus as Dan's girls are here for the summer etc., we do not have to drive 2 cars everywhere. We did not have a car even thhe 5 of us could fit in well since at 6'3, Treyner is eating his knees in the back of the Optima.

Here is some pics!

Carsyn and Treyner in the new great room!

gradceremonyy013.jpg

It is a blurry pic but I love it. Treyner and Baylor have always been really close and they cannot keep their mitts to themselves even in a cap and gown!

Hanna and Treyner (Jodi's daughter Hanna for those oldies on here. Hanna and Treyner dated for almost 2 years.)

We are off to Carly's grad party. (Treyner's current g-friend) and then home to sleep! I am wiped!

/
Dawn - :flower3: What a wonderful evening. I can imagine all the emotions. Loved the pictures. Such handsome children.

How is Jodi?

Thanks!
Jodi is back to her original weight as far as the weight loss part of her life. She had major foot surgery that had her layed up from Feb - just now walking with a cane. She wore sweats for all that time and ate and sat. Tried to put on jeans a month ago and called me saying ****#*#!:lmao:

I laughed because she is so funny about it and what can you do but laugh at yourself!

Today we were at a soccer game for Carsyn and Sara. There is no handicapped parking near the fields at all (she can walk max 30 feet) so we parked in an end cap area of the lot to see the field. (Got approval from the tourney people who agreed that it was ridiculous.)
So the drive next to the field right in front of us has painted yellow curbs. For those of who do not know this, it = NO PARKING.
Some a-wad drives up, parks in the yellow area and blocks the whole field view in his massive Expedition. His daughters team is up in 30 minutes and he thinks he is just going to park there.

I thought, "Careless but probably an oversight" and opened my door and said, "sir, can you please move your vehicle. I have a friend who is handicapped and cannot get on the field to see her daughter."

He looked at me, shook his head, proceeded to walk on to the fields and told me he would move it in a few minutes.

I was raging in 2.2 seconds! I was already 1/2 way back into the car. I stepped back out. I said, maybe you did not hear me. He said, "I heard you, I will move it later."

I came unglued. My exact words were, "Are you sh!!t!ing me?"

He looked up, suprised. All his co-parents at this time who parked where they should have were up by him and I was glad to say that I could not believe that a person could not move their vehicle so a handicapped person could see their childs game. His child was not on the field currently and he was not handicapped so what is his reasoning?

He then got in his car and moved.

I tell ya - this was after a day yesterday shopping going psycho on a Dad in a store for calling his 2 year old son the f bomb among other things. (I will remember to tell ya that one tom.)

Anyway - other than that - she is okay. Funny as ever and sad in her marriage. Desperatley sad.

I am trying to get her back here - if anything just for some moral support.

Carly's party went great. I will check in tom.!

Jodi just cried.

I was already

Hello everybody! Haven't read yet, but wanted to say hi. Spent the day at a friend's house in the pool and having an adorable guy cook for all of us. I have one word for how I feel ~ lobster! OMG, my legs are killing me (and I used super strength sun block).

Off to catch up on the happenings.

OMG, I am finally finishing my 4-day bender. I need to detox my system, for sure.

I've tried to return mine before - his mother wouldn't take him :lmao:

:rotfl2:

Remind me when it is you leave?

We are leaving Friday afternoon. I have to work until 2pm and I plan to be on the road heading south by 2:30. Can't wait!

Hum, Boardwalk does sound fun. I would love to go to Spoodles one last time. Back when I was one of those people who barely knew what the World Showcase was, I feel in love with the feel of the Boardwalk. I was at the Swan/Dolphin for a convention then. And Sanaa would be pushing Taylor's limit. She is a plain Jane kind of girl.

Love those Life is Good moments! Is Jesse still trying to sell while you are having your session?

I made $300. Which I was happy with. And my house is decluttered, which really is priceless. I hope it's ruined, I wouldn't mind getting a different one (yes, I have insurance on it).

$300 is awesome! :yay: Cell phone dying ~ oh no! I hope they let you get a new one.

Dont know how much I can help, but dh and I were in disney in April by ourselves for the first time without our children --- we ate at Cali Grill is was horrible!!! Service was horrible, food was just OK - honestly, nothing special!!

Just my 2 cents .......

Thanks for the tidbits! I think I will stay clear of Cali. Service is a big deal to me. I appreciate good service. If the food is just ok, then I think it is best to skip it for a while. Kona, I might try if I ever go with adults only. Or maybe try it during a slow season. Yachtsman does sound wonderful.

Kevin LOVES Yachtsman as well. It is definitely the best steakhouse on property (so says the vegetarian! :lmao:). Le Cellier is definitely done. It has been getting bad reviews consistently, whereas Yachtsman is getting raves.

You crack me up E. Yachtsman does have a wild mushroom ravioli that sounds yummy. I could hear hear Kevin's voice when I was noodling over the possibilities. :rotfl2: I would love to try it, but would rather have it an adults only night.

Ryan would adore T-Rex. I just have a bad impression of it from the podcast, but I'm willing to give it a try.

One restaurant that I forgot about is Raglan Road. Hum.

Here is my short list: Spoodles, Raglan Road, T-Rex

Nancy ~ lost the quote but how is houdini doing? Is he getting up close and personal with the electric fence?

Dawn ~ so excited for Treynor.

Steph ~ awesome that you have steady hours now.

Kat ~ how is the band wagon going?

EE - I'd do Spoodles, one last time. The kids will be fine there. :goodvibes

Erika, are you missing me again? Aww.

Good Morning! Rise and Shine!

Do you know what today is? WAGON day! Ha, for me at least. Back up I go.

Good morning everyone. Sneaking through.

I am +2 pounds so far. Too much eating out and bad choices over the weekend. Very unlike me but I did not have my usual snack stash in my bag and got too hungry more than once. Note to self...

Back on running schedule and trying to work out the schedule when I make the switch to 40 hours a week. The increase was not huge but in using the 10-10-10 principle I decided that the 10 months is the hard point with a transition zone at the beginning of school. Otherwise, the only effect is more pay, more and later hours and less wear and tear on my wrists in my future. Mike works all the time (usually) so it is just a matter of when I get back home the majority of my days. I am taking a chance that it will be sooner than later.

I hope that everyone is surviving okay. I made it through 8th grade prom night and graduation is this Friday. My little girl will be a freshman. She starts summer softball with the high school girls on Wednesday. She and one of her 14YO friends with her. The rest are all 16YO. She loves the girls and would rather play with them anyway. I cannot wait. I love summer softball. David has a baseball game tonight. Only one more after this and then All Star weekend and he is done for the summer. Well until soccer camp and regular 2 week camp and all that!!

Have a great week everyone and :grouphug: all around. Extra :wizard: for anyone who needs it.

Wagon day, eh? Ooookay. (Dragging feet smiley, anyone?)

Lisa PR - I'm so excited for you! Yay to the new job! And Shelby! And high school! And running! I am also so glad the 10-10-10 worked for you. :goodvibes

Last day of preschool for Emily. Also, last day she'll be with Matthew at school, her buddy. I can't believe the school year is over! I'm really glad we switched her to this school, where she will stay until 8th grade. Moving up day is Wednesday. No graduation, just some sort of program.

Okay. Off to do vague things.

Good morning all!

Zipping thru this morning in the chaos that is my life right now. The drier just finished, so I can have my DRY bike shorts :thumbsup2. Headed out for a ride now. Already made some cheese. :upsidedow

Challenge notes:
Water vs. Alcohol: water is winning the battle.:thumbsup2
Exercise: yep. Gettin' it done (Insert Larry the Cable Guy voice here:laughing:)
Food: is NOT owning me. Not tracking, but being more aware of what I'm eating and why.

Life: chaos is remaining external thus far. I've been successful at not letting things get me all worked up. HUGE win.

Goat: He's great! No escapes. He did learn about electric fence the...ummm...uncomfortable way :scared1: Walked full-on into it. :headache: Haven't seen him do that again.

All you guys with kids out of school! wow. My kids still have 2 1/2 weeks!

Good Morning! Rise and Shine!

Do you know what today is? WAGON day! Ha, for me at least. Back up I go.

I am jumping right back up there with you... I don't normally post food, but last night's dinner was, shall we say interesting???

Starbucks - venti iced non-fat chai latte, iced (my treat and my vice) and a rainbow cookie that was basically calling out to me. Needless to say, my dinner for the night was some sauteed spinach and an apple since I had no calories left for a real dinner. Ugh... :confused3

LisaPR - sounds like you have made up your mind about the job. The kids are definitely keeping you busy with all of those practices and games. No wonder my mom was so happy when we started driving. It meant not having to taxi us around anymore. Hope they both do well.

Nancy - glad to hear that our little houdini friend hasn't escaped yet. Really glad to hear that you are not letting food own you. :woohoo: you go girl!

Liz - Where is Matthew going that they won't be in school again next year? Have fun at the moving up program.

Amiee - you leave in like days now. I am so envious!!!! Can't wait for the trip reports.

Dawn - great pictures of graduation... I am amazed that you didn't cry through the ceremony...

Not much going on here. Same old, same old. I have JC tonight so we shall see what my Starbucks run has done to me... :rotfl: I am planning a bike ride either at the gym or on the trails depending on what time I get home tonight.

Are you looking forward to a fixed schedule? I'm thinking how stressful to never know who's going call out, or whatever and then get a last-minute call to come to work!

And full-time. Does that bring benefits?

WW - I understand where you are coming from on that. Hopefully when you get on a more predictable schedule, other things will fall into place as well
Yes It will be nice to have a fixed schedule. No more asking myself am I working today?

Benefit, yes I will get benefits I will not take the health insurance because the hospital has really sucky insurance.

As for WW my "new" schedule I still won't make it. Meeting start at 530 and I will work till 730. But I just need to watch it and I can do it on my own. My mom bought me a new outfit for my Bday and the short were size 16. So I will use those to judge how my weight is going, if they are to tight then I need to lay off the FOOD!LOL

Steph--looks like you have some job decisions to make as well! How do you feel about the schedule change? What will you do with the kids all summer while you are working that shift?
I actually asked / told the girl that got FIRED why couldn't you wait till September to screw up! LOL (she knew that she was being fired and knew I was Joking) I am kinda tossed about the schedule change only because of me having the pool and now I won't be able to utilize it all day. As with the kids I will leave for 1030 am and Stephen gets home at 1230/ 100 so Sam will be here to watch them. As for the weekend shift I am tossed because I have no one to watch the kids at 6 am every other Sunday. But Zac is getting the pump at the end of the month so it will make it easier for everyone to have him in the mornings and not have to figure out insulin. With working the morning shift than I will be home in the afternoons with the kids and Stephen and get to go to BBQ's and parties. Working Afternoons then I don't have the need for anyone to take the kids every other weekend. So I am trying to decide what will be best for the kids.

Steph - geesh - the pool, have you been swimming in it yet, or just prep so far?[/B]

Let me just start by saying OMFG the work that needs to go into a pool....WOW! I guess it didn't help that stephen dumped the cover into it either. But yes I went in for a bit on Saturday afternoon. It is still rather COLD! It was only 65 yesterday which isn't bad because I am used to swimming in the ocean and that is chilly (not as chilly as Erika's water) But .......there is a lot of work and I am sitting herer feeling guilty because I am not out working it right now! I did find some rafts in the garage , nice ones so When the pool is a little warmer I will float till my hearts content!

All you guys with kids out of school! wow. My kids still have 2 1/2 weeks!
Yes Nancy my kids too! Sam and Nate get out Monday..... Zac and Tyler have half days from Monday till the following week I think thursday is their last day. It amazes me that it is one school and they all get out at different times.

Ok off to do the pool and then sit and reread twilight. THat is what I did yesterday while the kids swam, I read 200 pages!
