In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate... Vol. 6: Goddesses just want to have fun

Hey everyone :flower3:

The concert on Saturday was great, the company.....not so much. Hey ho.
I absolutely ate like a pig at KFC and drank a few beers but I got right back on it yesterday.

So far so good with the challenge - ive managed at least 2 litres of water a day, tracked everyday (even saturday with the KFC) and made concious food choices where possible - saturday excluded!

Dawn - great pictures, they are some good looking kids!

Hope everyone is having a good day

Bandwagon is doing okay. I eased in a bit last week. Tracked every day, some better than others, but managed to stay in the 1200-1800 range. Exercise was at 4 times (two kickboxing, two hockey), and water at 64oz or so daily. Scale does not exist in my mind, yet. Too scared.

My friend dragged me to a hockey practice last night. She is a figure skater learning to play hockey... it was fun but I managed to hit my bummocks rather hard at the end of the practice. At 5'8", it's a long way to fall!

Komen 5K is on Sat AM so I need to try to get toward a treadmill sometime this week, perhaps more than once. I would run outside but supposed to be 92+ for the rest of the week.

Also, need to get in better shape... the schedule came out for my Charlotte tournament at the end of the month. 6AM and 12:15PM games on Sat, 7:45 and 4:30 on Sunday.

Hugs to everyone going through kid and end of year stuff...

a rainbow cookie that was basically calling out to me.

What's a rainbow cookie? Sugar cookie w/rainbow sprinkles comes to mind- but since I try to avoid Starbucks, I'm not sure exactly what we are talking here.....

:woohoo: for the bike! Are you lovin' it? Getting more comfortable and confident in your riding skills? When is your event again? I'm thinking mid-July.

One of the big stressors that I had to let go of, was my 50 mile ride that Stephen and I wanted to do this coming weekend. It is supposed to be a super fun event, and of course all for a good cause (Cancer fundraiser). BUT. It's also Seth's 18th Birthday, a graduation party for our friends daughter (she and Seth practically grew up as brother & sister), I'm doing soap booth at a local farm festival all day on Sunday (as well as guiding/directing the 4H display set-up) and this week and next are booked solid. Like if I could clone myself the 2 of us might be able to muddle thru - I don't know how the ONE of me is going to survive! So. Something had to give. It was the ride. There's always next year right?....

But yes I went in for a bit on Saturday afternoon. It is still rather COLD! It was only 65 yesterday which isn't bad because I am used to swimming in the ocean and that is chilly (not as chilly as Erika's water) But .......there is a lot of work and I am sitting herer feeling guilty because I am not out working it right now! I did find some rafts in the garage , nice ones so When the pool is a little warmer I will float till my hearts content!

Our pool is waaaaay too cold for me! I like it when the water temp hits 80* or more...

:yay: Hope the 5K is early enough in the day so that it's not scorching hot...

Dawn - fabulous graduation pictures! I'm simultaneously excited for and dreading graduation.

Kelly - :thumbsup2 tracking again. Good, bad, ugly, whatever. At least it makes us aware, right?

Lyz- nice job on the yard sale. $300. Was that a lot of little things or did you have some big-ticket items?

LisaPR - hope you get your schedule into a new routine soon!

totally practicing the art of avoidance here! Just spent and entire hour on the phone chatting with a friend. Gotta get crackin' on my list!

Hi Nancy... The dreaded rainbow cookie at Starbucks is a huge (like the size of a saucer) chocolate chip cookie with M&M's on top of it to add even more chocolate (and fat and calories). I don't even want to look up how many calories and fat grams are in that bad boy because I am positive the results ain't pretty. I know what the chai latte costs me calorie wise (I looked it up months ago) and it is not so bad provided that I haven't had my milk for the day yet. The difference between drinking plain milk and adding a few pumps of chai syrup is about 60 - 90 calories depending on the size I get (need to stop at the medium size). So, the chai is a nice treat once and a while. Just need to stay away from the snack case...

I am loving my bike. I am still getting used to the saddle, but it is getting more comfy as I go. Building up a tolerance perhaps? I especially love the peaceful nature of the early morning ride. If I see a half dozen other folks out on the trail, that is a lot, but I see and hear all sorts of birds and other woodland creatures along the way so that is cool. The ride is July 11th. I am sorry to hear about the news for your ride. That is unfortunate, but like you said, there is always next year. Besides, you want to be able to enjoy these family milestones (18th birthdays, graduation parties and such) right?

Kat - sounds like you have your feet up on the wagon again -yeah!!!! That hockey schedule sounds brutal, as does that heat. Keep it down there could you. It is in the mid 70's today and perfect.

Hope everyone is enjoying the day.

Paula

oh. That sounds completely EVIL. I wouldn't want to know either...

I do think that there is a "adjustment" period with the saddle. Just different muscles, I think?

I love the wildlife too.....mostly. I get stupid squirrels and chipmunks that I SWEAR are trying to send me down an embankment :squirrel: They do their ridiculous "can't decide which way to go" dance in the middle of the road and don't commit to a direction until the very last possible second :scared: Danged rodents

And yes - while it's disappointing that we're not going to participate in the ride this year, it's for the best. It would take a rather large chunk of time, and with everything else that is going on, the fact is I probably wouldn't be able to fully enjoy it and appreciate the event for what it is. I'd be thinking 2 and 3 steps ahead to all the other crap that needs my attention.

Just discovered something.

When the package label reads "Instant Nail Glue" they really mean it.

Just glued my fingers together in an attempt to fix a nasty broken nail.

Kids were crying with laughter. No offer to assist with the "ungluing" of my hand. Just...texts....saying OMG you'll never believe what Mom did...

"OMG. You'll never believe what my friend Nancy did...".

You reach all generations. :laughing::thumbsup2

Kat - good for you getting back on. Is the game tonight? Tomorrow. I didn't miss it. 3-2 right? I assume you're all for Pittsburgh.

Dawn - adored the pictures. What a time, eh? Must seem like just yesterday.....

Nancy - you too. and :lovestruc to you.

Swim-mom - Swim mom, are you giving me, I mean us;), your name.? I loved your post about renting your husband.

Paula - love hearing about the bike.

Ronda - Do you and Sue have another race booked? Sorry if I missed it.

Lisa Z - Where are you? Hope life is good.

Kelly - glad the actual concert was good.

Liz - how is your Mom doing? I've been thinking of you.

Lisa - Exciting times with the new job. And Shelby. I spent my youth on the field and on the courts (tennis). Wonderful memories. Wonderful ones.

Erika - thanks for asking. It's getting very difficult. Some days when I don't know where the simplest things are - I feel like I'm going to break. Holding on though. The 10 day bounce back time on those suites that we were supposed to get on my birthday is very soon. So back to the drawing board at that point. It was strange to have a mix up. I can only hold on to the thoughts that it was meant to be for a reason. And I'll know one day. And my boys - cats - are at my parents. Spending time with them. But it sucks not to have them by my side (someone here is allergic).

Erika - how is Kelly these days? Feeling good? Does she have a medical procedure scheduled?

How is Jeff feeling about his new position? Will you guys be going out this summer?

Amy - Lakers. Because, oh boy hard to say, but love Kobe. Love his game. Love his passion for the game. Love his tenacity. And love his respect for the business - post-game crap.

Lyz - I just miss your regular posting. Just do. Maybe one day I'll shut up about that and live with it. I doubt it. :lmao::rotfl:

I do Paula. I really do. Thank you so much.

Some days I'm so positive. And some days the lack of personal space and finding combs and cords and clothes just makes me want to cry. But more positive days then the way I'm feeling today. I'm letting it get to me today.

Thank you Paula. :lovestruc

Glad I could help, even if only a little...

Hey everybody!

Lurking for a little bit. Taylor's on my lap after her first day at day camp. She is exhausted. Will be back later.

Even with the great cookie debacle from last night I lost .4 pounds this week. I am taking that and running with it because the weekend was just plain ugly food wise...

oh and Nancy, I looked it up... drumroll please... 480 calories and 20 grams of fat for one freakin cookie... I am never, repeat never going near one of those evil things again. They are so not worth it... :confused3 That is more calories than what I usually eat for my dinner.

So, I came home from Jenny Craig, cooked my sensible dinner (JC Mesquite chicken entree w/ roasted potatoes and broccoli) roasted some fresh asparagus and felt so much better about that dinner than last night's. I got my ten miles in on the spin bike tonight and now I am settling in to just relax for a bit.

Hope everyone is having a good night!

:crazy2: ONE COOKIE? Oy. Just think - how many people make that a regular snack when they go for their coffee :confused3 Awesome job on the loss, despite that stupid cookie!

LisaV - sending hugs to you my transient friend! And yes, I got my fingers unglued. No thanks to my KIDS I must add

Amiee - day camp? They run those kids ragged. Fun, but exhausting!

Gosh. I had something I really wanted to say. But I've totally forgotten. hmmpf. Well, if I think of it I'll let you know.

Ok, I need something to watch when I get on my elipictal - otherwise I will die!!! So Nurse Jackie is on at 10:30, so it looks like my torture will begin there

My goal is to do my elip 4 times a week; drink more water; and limit myself to only two cups of coffee a day with 1 tsp of sugar.

It is too hot and humid here in NJ, in the summer to start running outside again. If I keep up with the cardio aspect up, when I resume my running/training for the princess 1/2 I should be good to go :goodvibes

I hear ya. I get so bored. so, So, SO bored. I must have a distraction when I'm stuck inside on cardio equipment[/B][/COLOR]

Oh, please dont remind me .................. I have the rest of June, all of July & Aug to be INSIDE :rotfl:

Not sure if I am up to even attempting to run in the summer heat

Am I the only one who thinks this way?

No, I think the same way. Near me we have a really nice bike path that is pretty well shaded, and an awesome nature preserve that is totally wooded with amazing trails. I'll do morning runs either of those places before it gets too hot. Otherwise - forget it!

Ronda - Do you and Sue have another race booked? Sorry if I missed it.

We did. We ran the Hospital Hill 5K this past weekend. We walked part of the namesake hill. It was great though. The end is a little downhill and Sue says "let's sprint". Sprint is merely figurative, but we did run hard at the end. Around 45 minutes. Eh, we're beginners, but it's doing great things for us.

I hadn't been on the scale in a while. I got on last week and doing some quick head math realized I've lost about 70 pounds since my high 10 years ago. It's come in spurts, but in the last six months or so, it's been about 25 pounds. I *need* new clothes and LLBean is doing something stupid with their Bayside twill pants. They hope/expect to have them in the FALL CATALOG. Effing FALL! I need pants NOW. I have needed pants since April and now you tell me you've essentially stopped selling PANTS!!!?? Find me the moron and bring him to me!

Wow. I don't know what came over me.

I am in the homestretch of prep for this Saturday's HOA annual block party. Pemits and moonwalks, hotdogs and hamburgers, a DJ and a porta potty. Check. I get past this weekend and it will be smooth sailing... yep, smooth I tell 'ya.
