So I hope everyone has a great day! Tracks and drinks their water.
HAve a healthy day!

Roddy~ my 6 year old just spotted the dancing banana and started singing Penut butter and jelly!

Hey all sorry for the absence. I drove to MA on Friday night and ended up sick as a dog on Saturday morning. Shelby played phenomenal. More in a minute about that. I drove home from MA on Saturday in my total misery while everyone else slept in the car and Sunday I was further into my sickness. Fever, achey, sinus congestion, cough, etcetera. I ran 14.43 miles just because I knew I had to. I finished up yesterday with another 10 but only after calling in sick due to a severe headache. After sleeping in for awhile, the illness was tolerable and I did a slow 10. Today, achey, nose running like a faucet but better. This is it for today though as the hospital is replacing computers and mine is coming shortly to be set up and tested.

Shelby, she played so well. Owned the goal. Only 1 scored on her all day and it was because the girl shot from her knees which is not supposed to count and Shelby let it go. Of course, they counted it. Anyway, this lady comes up to Mike and I and pulls me aside. She says she is the director of the Futures program for MA and asks why Shelby is not doing Futures this year. I told her the reasoning that we had and she told me that she should be doing Futures, she would have made the All American team and next year will probably have an opportunity to play on the National team if she continues progressing. I told her that Shelby was only 14 and she almost passed out. Swear. She gave me her card and told me if we needed any help getting her into any college program or camps anytime, just call her and she will send a formal recommendation just after watching her play for a couple of hours. Talk about a proud moment. When I told Shelby on the way home she almost burst. For those who do not know what Futures is, it is a program through USA Field Hockey that gives girls the opportunity for further advancement through skills clinics and lets them be seen by national coaches. This lady from MA wrote out the name of a goalie camp this summer that is run by the Olympic gold medal goalie from Australia and said she was going to call in a recommendation for her yesterday. :scared1::scared1:

So that was my weekend in a nutshell. Sorry not to respond to everyone but my head is so full that just working is a chore. I wanted to let you all know that I am alive and well and still running. And, yes, LisaV you hit it spot on about the providing for the family with Mike. He is afraid that we will have to give things up like vacations and snowmobiles and such. His money is the play money. I pay all the insurances and bills with my income.

Have a great day everyone and :wizard::hug: for anyone who needs them.
Oh Lisa... how awesome about Shelby!:goodvibes:goodvibes You Must have been beaming! Congratulations to the both of you!

AWESOME news about Shelby, Lisa! WOW! At least there's one college tuition you may not have to pay! :rotfl2:

I am off to take Kel to the hospital for the day. My mom is coming with us, which is nice. That way we can take Kel out for breakfast on the way, etc. Try and throw some fun stuff in. Plus, I need the extra set of ears to make sure I get everything the doctor says. :listen:

Have a great day!

Erika good Luck with Kel today!pixiedust:pixiedust: Lots of PIXIE DUST FOR YOU !pixiedust:pixiedust:

Stephanie

Lisa ~ That is so cool! How exciting!

E ~ :goodvibes & I am so glad that your mom is able to go with you.

Gotta dash gang ~ very busy day ahead.

Erika - sending pixie dust to you and Kelly today. Have fun with your mom...

LisaPR - that is awesome news about Shelby. Very cool...

I am off to get some work done. Today is the day I meet w/ one of my bosses about all the crap going on at work. Wish me luck as I hope to get some answers today.

I'll check in later,
Paula

PS - hopped on the scale this morning and it appears that most if not all of that pound gain is already gone... just further proof that the scale is somewhat arbitrary and shouldn't be stressed over too much I guess...

pixiedust: Pixie dust for you, Paula. Hope it all goes well today.

:woohoo: There is just so much packed into those 3 lines. Yay that the extra weight is leaving promptly. :yay: And yes, yes, yes. The scale can seemingly be so random. So many things can have an effect on my weight at any given moment in time. That is one of the reasons I'm trying to focus my challenge goals on food intake & exercise rather than weight number. I know if I keep doing all the *right* things consistently, the weight will go. Eventually. I just have to be patient.

Erika - for you and your little princess:. Glad your mom is coming along. Yikes. Does that mean dad is home alone  How much longer is he going to be flat out?

LisaPR - sorry you haven't been feeling well  Better now than in 2 weeks I suppose. Hope you kick it quickly! Nice to hear compliments on your kid, isn't it? You all should be so proud.

Steph - did you have WW last night? :confused3 I missed it if you told us. :guilty:

LisaV - this is for you. ....

Erin said that she did indeed remember to bring her nasty fat testers back from the Cape this weekend. However, she had in her head that our appointment was tomorrow, not today (had a mental mix-up with another gal for whom she just did measurements) so tomorrow morning we are doing it. :scared1: I hope. I *think* I hope anyway . She has callipers (pinch) and this other electric thing-a-ma-jig. She prefers the callipers overall, but tomorrow we are doing the electric because it's quicker and she's got a full schedule of clients. According to her, it's accurate "within 2-3 percentage points". I want more accurate than THAT  Honestly, my preference would be to do both the pinch and the electric current and take the average. Not sure that's an option at this very moment - I'll just take what I can get at this point.

Lyz - getting your life back after this weekend yet?

Liz - :hug:for you and Mom & Dad.

Dawn - how did the kitchen project go this weekend?

Kat & Roddy - come out and play!

Ronda - still running?

Amy - do you have another race on your schedule already?

Kelly - you packed yet? :upsidedow

LisaZ - how was your night home alone?

Sunny - great loss! Keep workin' it baby :hippie:

I now have to go finish up some costumes. Yes, that's what I said. Costumes. This weekend is Becca's middle school play - CLUE. She is Professor Plum, who ironically is wearing peacock blue. :confused3

EriKa :hug:for you and Kel. Will be waiting anxiously for results.

Liz  for you and Sylvia. Love the Hawaii themed dinner. What day is the exact anniversary? Do you need more ideas or are you ready to go? Cause I'll put on my thinking hat.

:hug:To everyone else struggling weather we know it or not.

LisaPR - awesome news about Shelby! Sorry you were so daggon sick this weekend. And I wish your husband would chill. Right now, in this economy, if you are able to pay the bills then you are golden. Yes, vacations and toys are grand, don't I know it - have you met my husband?!?!?! - but times are tough, and WOW to you being able to cover the bills on your own. Do you know how much that means Lisa! Mike should be kissing your *bleep*.

Nancy - are you sick of sewing yet? Being a superstar is a blessing and a curse.:flower3: for you.

Steph - tell us, you didn't call right? (and your husband wouldn't be happy either).

I'm here... just haven't been on track lately and have been totally irresponsible in all facets of life. In rebellion for being an adult this week, just ask my laundry pile.

Nancy, my scale has that electric current thing, and I have had the caliper testing as well. The electric current is not very accurate, I would hold out for the calipers. Just my $.02.

E, glad you got a diagnosis and new shoes. Thinking good thoughts toward J and K as well.

Liz,.

Everyone else,.

LisaPR - I second Lyz's words. The fact that you can and are covering the bills means that your husband should be quiet and be thankful. There are many folks out there who can't say that. Hope you are feeling better.

The meeting went as well as I thought it would. More promises, more calls to be patient, blah, blah, blah. I really want to believe them, but I am being cautiously optimistic at this point. Thanks for the good thoughts everyone...

Erika, good luck today with Kelly’s appointment. I know what you mean about your mom being an extra set of ears. There’s so much to hear. P.S. I am SOOOO jealous of the “drive to L L Bean” thing.

I am in the last week of C25K. Thirty minute runs. I did D1 yesterday and, while I’m no longer astonished that I can run for a while, running for half an hour was really cool. DGF and I are amazing ourselves. She is in week 7 – 25 minute runs. The event we are preparing for is April 26. After that we need to find a way to extend our new found success. With the Y membership comes several free personal training sessions. We’re both going to get some core strength and stretching pointers. I haven’t lost weight for a few weeks, but my body is changing.

I was able to mow over the weekend – before the freezes ; )

Other weekend highlights were making some kid sized benches to put in the Habitat for Humanity playhouse. Area companies are building playhouses. They get displayed around town and sold at an auction later this month. They wanted some little benches, but were running out of time. I said, “I can do that”. They are cute. I’ll try to get a picture before they leave the garage. They still need to get primed and painted. We used chalboard paint on the interior of the house. I’d seen that before, but we also used white board paint. This I’ll have to see in action. It’s a fun project.

Ronda

Ronda - Yes! Pictures please of the benches. How fun, and for a good cause.

Paula - even with the promises, blah, blah, blah, are you taking care of what you need too? Contact info and such?

Steph - did you have WW last night? :confused3 I missed it if you told us. :guilty:
Yes I did have WW last night and I sat on the couch waiting for 5:30 to come and guess what I fell asleep. I woke up at 6 and figured it was almost over so no sense in going.

Steph - tell us, you didn't call right? (and your husband wouldn't be happy either).[/B]
Nope not yet... I was going to call tonight on my way home and just see what he has been up to but they (work) just called and now I am working till 11 p.m. I figured that if I call on my way home than I have a 20 minute conversation. I was going to block the number on my cell so there would be no chance of him calling again. Lisa and I talked a lot about this we came to the conclusion that I am bored and miss home.SO really Its all about I need a reality check that life isn't better on the other side! I do this every now and again. One of my BFFs and I texted last night about it too and she said the same thing NOTHING bad would come of it because 1. we are so far away and 2. there was a reason I dumped him TWICE... he was a jerk. SO yeah I guess just a reality check is all it is. I will tell stephen I have even showed stephen his house when we were back home. I told him that it had been my dream to marry him and to live in that house (his parents house)for his money... YES I WAS REALLY SHALLOW BACK IN THE DAY. Stephen laughed and said well its a good thing you love me because I am piss poor broke! I tell him all the time I married for LOVE not Money! So I think he would be mad that I sought him out but knows nothing will come of it. So in the end he won't care. I actually had another boyfriend that I ended up being friends with after we split and was friends with him while steph and I were dating in the beginning and that drove him NUTS! We he and his family moved out of the area I went to say good-bye and that night ended up in a stupid fight because he was jealous. Even though I had told him I had NO feelings for him... what so ever. So this won't bother him to much... now if I said I was going home and was going to meet up with him than that would be a different story!:scared1: WHICH I WOULD NEVER DO!!!! THAT IS FOR SURE!
Ok off to get ready for work and then to the hospital for a sonogram and blood work and then to work!

Crappy day. I'm off these days. So thanks Erika just consciously eating is enough these days. Suddenly, exercise is difficult and it never is. So sighing.

Steph - hard. Steph is so friggin' smart. She's already said it here so I guess I can too. She realized it wasn't about him at all. It was about her so missing home. Totally missing it. Some people never realize why they are doing things so wow Steph. Just wow.

I too think no phone call. I worry about Stephen too.

But I'm smiling I do feel for him, the past boy, because the door was opened - and from Steph's words we can see that he took a lot of rejection so that's why I said short note to not leave him open to hurt again. But I must go back but in the morning light Steph said he was an A$$. I didn't make that up, did I? :rotfl: Forgive me if I did.

Lisa P/R - Wow, what a moment. Wow. Shelby must be thrilled. Nice.

Nancy - Soon I'm going to come measure your fat or lack of it. :lmao:

See me at the border. Purpose of your trip?

Can't you see my callipers? What's wrong with you? I'm off the Connecticut to measure someone's body fat and cry with the goats! Let me through....:lmao:

Thanks for keeping me updated. I was so psyched to get mine done but I'm feeling really off lately.

Erika - your words were so sweet. Thank you. I've said it before I'll say it again. Even if I didn't know all the wonderful things you do - you can simply see it in their faces. You can see it in their faces Erika.

Kelly - hope the day goes as well as possible Erika.

So sorry to hear about the layoffs. That's very sad. Jeff must be so incredibly tired. Just emotionally wiped from it all.

Once again, I so worry about the men and providing.

Hi everyone!!!

Ronda - Yes! Pictures please of the benches. How fun, and for a good cause.

Paula - even with the promises, blah, blah, blah, are you taking care of what you need too? Contact info and such?

Ronda - you so need to post pictures. I love building projects like that!

Lyz - I am not sure what to think right now. I think I need to set a timeframe for them to either fish or cut bait so that I don't go mad. I just don't know how long I should wait. Given the economy there are so many unknowns that it is hard to plan. In the meantime, I need to keep working my network and keep myself positioned so that when things break, I can capitalize on any opportunities that present themselves. I feel a bit better and a bit reassured, but the still don't have my full trust yet. kwim?

LisaZ - how was your night home alone?

I agree with you on the randomness of scale readings -- but I still want to know! KWIM? And my home alone night was great!!!! Hubby had a great time at the Oriole game, didn't even get rained on. And for once, we beat the Yankees! (probably be the only game we win this year, but.....)

I am in the last week of C25K. Thirty minute runs. I did D1 yesterday and, while I’m no longer astonished that I can run for a while, running for half an hour was really cool. DGF and I are amazing ourselves.

Congratulations -- you should be so proud! :lovestruc

Crappy day. I'm off these days. So thanks Erika just consciously eating is enough these days. Suddenly, exercise is difficult and it never is. So sighing.

Sorry you're having a bad day.

I am pretty happy these days, because the clothes I bought back in January (in a bigger size, remember? 'cuz I had the stuffed sausage look in my work clothes) -- those clothes are loosening up finally! So, despite my kvetching a little about the scale, things are moving in the right direction.

Enjoy your afternoon! :hippie:

:woohoo:Liza (ohh, that was a mistake, but I like it. LisaZ=Liza. ha) Remind me how much weight you wanted to lose?

Liva - yeah - that doesn't work as well. LisaV - sorry your day is crappy.

Nancy - are you sick of sewing yet? Being a superstar is a blessing and a curse.:flower3: for you.

This play was nothing at all. Really. All the costume pieces were items that were already in the High School prop room - so just needed minor adjustments. Piece of cake. :thumbsup2

Nancy, my scale has that electric current thing, and I have had the caliper testing as well. The electric current is not very accurate, I would hold out for the calipers. Just my $.02.

I'm not familiar with this particular tool. I guy that I know works at the Y and he says that's the thingy they use. He offered to bring it over and do my testing  Not sure I want HIM to know my number. At my former gym there was a fancy-shmancy scale (a Tatiana or something like that) where you input your age, gender, height and then it gave you your weight & body fat %. We always did the scale in conjunction w/the callipers and averaged the 2 together. The 2 numbers were typically fairly close - within a point or so. Erin prefers the callipers herself - can't do it tomorrow though. And honestly, I'm not so sure the management WANTS her to do it. Planet Fitness is not a "full service" gym. So, I get the feeling she is treading a thin line doing this at all.

The other thing Erin said about the electric current one, is it's most accurate first thing in the morning, before you begin eating & hydrating - and before you begin any of your exercise. We'll see how it goes. If I like the number I'll tell you that the thing was dead on! If I don't, well, obviously it was wrong :rotfl2:

The meeting went as well as I thought it would. More promises, more calls to be patient, blah, blah, blah. I really want to believe them, but I am being cautiously optimistic at this point. Thanks for the good thoughts everyone...

Cautiously optimistic, keep good connections and burn no bridges. All good strategies Paula. Hopefully you won't need to put them to use. :goodvibes

I haven’t lost weight for a few weeks, but my body is changing.

:cool1: You are kickin' butt on this C25K program! That's so awesome!

Other weekend highlights were making some kid sized benches to put in the Habitat for Humanity playhouse.

So fun! I'd love to see pictures too!

Ok off to get ready for work and then to the hospital for a sonogram and blood work and then to work!

I'm sorry - what did you just say? :confused3

That would be hysterical. :lmao:

Hubby had a great time at the Oriole game, didn't even get rained on. And for once, we beat the Yankees! (probably be the only game we win this year, but.....)

I heard that! :yay: We're Sox fans here, so can't say that I was sad about the Yankees loss

Liva :lmao: Just had a Monty Python moment on that one! We're here for your liva...:lmao:

Erika- Thinking lots of good thoughts for your whole family today. So nice that your mom went with you to Kel's appointment. I hope the kayano's are better for you. I have not tried them, I run in another ASIC that is a little cheaper. I love them, but always wonder if there is something better out there.

Nancy- No races in the near future. Which makes me kinda sad. :sad2: Race season in FL is will be drying up due to the heat. I will be doing a nighttime local 5K on 4th of the july where the line the course with luminaries.

SO in the light of this, you will all need to pick up the slack in the race department so I can live vicariously through your reports!! I have added another big race to my list though, Anyone notice my sig???

Steph-hope all your appointments go well today. :goodvibes

LisaPR- I can't believe you got all that running in while feeling so crappy. Rest a bit if you need to. And awesome news about Shelby.

Paula-Glad that pound went away quickly! I am happy to say that I am on track to getting rid of my vacation weight gain.!!

Ronda-- sounds like C25K is going great. I found that once I hit 30 minutes running straight, it was relatively easy to add on time to that in 5-10 minute increments. much harder to go from 0-30 minutes than it was to go from 30-60+.

Everyone,!!

Challenge stuff through yesterday

Exercise: 430/1200
Water: fine during the week, still not so hot on the weekends.
Weight: still above 180!
