In Search of My Body....Not the One I ATE! Vol. 5: Goddesses are Always on Top!

Thanks for the compliment Kat.

I could really feel the "life" change on this trip. Not body - life. I sometimes walked around the pool without my sarong. Usually I have to work myself up just to get from the chair to the pool. Like seriously trying to figure out how I'm going to get in the pool. So it was huge. I just said to myself "Lisa you don't have the perfect body - you will never - life is moving - get on with it".

Erika - so I can't ask your pool slide time.

Yes, that's right folks. I went in the pool slide races. I'm so competitive. I worked on my technique and time all week. :lmao: There's a good technique for men and a better one for women. Actually, I was up on the slide when she came for the races and almost went back down when I realized. :lmao:

And then I was addicted to my time improving.

I adore the water and I've let weight stop so much. Ridiculous.

Yes Erika. Vero would be perfect for us all. I loved it.

Kat - you're so right about Jean. She's wonderful. Even when she has to be blunt cause I'm so off.

I was having a meltdown about my bathing suit photo enlarged last night and she toughed loved me. As in you don't remember what they used to llook like. If you did you would focus on all the miraculous changes you've made. And people don't pick at others the way you do to you. They look at the whole package not your legs not showing the muscles. She also told me this is a therapy issue - I look for faults with everything in life regarding me instead of looking at what's good.

I was going on about what wouldn't change with my legs - skin, cellulite, not seeing the tone that's there and she told me to focus on where I came from instead. I guess they were not pretty!!!!!!!:lmao:

LISA! Wow, wow wow! You have lost half of yourself! OMG, you look incredible! And SO happy! And you can totally pull off that bathing suit!

I'm finally here! Computer issues this morning, just couldn't connect to the internet for nothing.

Will be back in a bit (gotta enter my food to see exactly what I have left for the day), gotta catch up, but it doesn't look like it will take too long. What happened??

All joking aside, I would love to see this neighbor and her daughter get healthier -- their whole family is overweight and I know they've had significant health issues over the years. Hopefully their buddy system works out -- it looks like they are picking a class that conflicts with my aerobics night, so I won't be able to join them, but I'm so happy they are taking that step. :yay:

Buddy systems :thumbsup2 yep. They sure are important! :goodvibes

LisaV. WOWZA woman. :worship: your photos are gorgeous!

time for me to face the music. Here goes.

Food today. abundant :headache: 33 points. I am honestly not sure how the hell I let that happen. I'm really ticked at myself for that. Really ticked. Partly it was due to the fact that our cupboards were nearly bare so my choices were slim. Part of it is because there is so much yum-o leftover CRAP from the party (cake, chips, evil trail mix). But mostly it was me. And my poor choices for the day. Moving on.

Water, good. Alcohol, none. Exercise - a total kick-@ss run. challenge min= 365/1800.

Earlier today Steph posted her current set list, which includes the Milkshake Song, and it reminded me of a story. So horrifying that it's actually funny. In a totaly sick and twisted kind of way.

Last summer, Comedy Central did a kind of revival of the Gong Show. I only watched a teeny bit of it on 2 occasions, so I don't know if it's still on or if it was cancelled.

It was awful. Horrible. There were 3 male judges who were raunchy, crude, crass - just plain nasty. Not the least bit funny. Just overwelmingly vulgar and repulsive. (and for ME to say that, they have to be bad. :sad2:)

Now. Hubby has an aunt who lives in California. She's in her mid-60's. A couple of years ago she thought it would be fun to take up tap dancing. So she joined a tap dance group of senior citizen woman who like to just be kinda goofy, and have fun and maybe get a bit of exercise in. She is the youngest member of the group, and they range in age up to early 80's.

Somewhere along the way, somebody thought it would be a fabulously fun idea to audition for this new Gong Show. I mean. Who didn't love the original back in the 70's, what with that silly Unknown Comic who wore the paper bag on his head and all the goofy, harmless shannigans. :confused3 So audition they did. And :yay: how exciting - they were accepted. They were going to dance on national TV!

Sadly (which in the end, turned out to be a blessing :rolleyes1) the day that they were scheduled for taping, DH's aunt couldn't be there. Oh well. The rest of the group was going to dance. However, the "powers that be" at the Gong Show didn't care for their musical selection, "Little Old Lady From Pasadena", by the Beach Boys. Totally appropriate, because they all were, little old ladies from....

Nope. The producers gave them a different song. I'm sure you can see this coming. They were to dance to "The Milkshake Song".

So - here's my family, all gathered around the TV to watch this dance group peform (we had NO idea the song choice). HOLY CRAP! You have to be kidding me. A dozen or so scantily clad 70 year old plus women dancing to "Milkshake". :scared: <hyperventilation starts>. They are tapping away. Out rolls this cart with giant glasses of vanilla milkshakes. :scared1::scared1: Several of these woman now have freakin' MILKHAKE MOUSTACHES.

I nearly passed out. So horrifying. So demeaning and humiliating. :sad2:

Of course, not a single one of them had any idea what that song was about. CLEARLY. OMG I hope no one has ever told them.

Yes, they were "gonged". And the judges all had a good laugh at their expense. And we were so incredibly thankful that our relative had a conflict and couldn't make it.

So, no. I don't have Milkshake on my playlist
.

Aww, you guys missed me, didn't you? ;) I could tell! So much to read yet it felt quiet today!

Lisa Z - thanks for the breakfast answer! I love reading what you guys are eating - inspires me! :goodvibes

E - YES to Vero post Half.

Lisa PR - You know I know sh$t about running, so hugs for the feeling.

Ronda - I am so super inspired by your C25K! I can't wait to do D2!

Roddy, why are you so quiet lately? Speak up, boy!

OOOOh LYz, called about Mirena today. Going to see if they cover it or not. They are looking into it for me. Please cross your fingers for me!!!

Lisa V. I LOVE your TR and pics! Keep it going!!! Can I say that you really rocked the 260. OMG, I never would have guessed 260. You did it well, girlfriend. And now? OMG SKINNY. Those SKINNY legs! Let's marry them to my neck and we'd be perfect! And I agree with what Kat and E said - you look so good and so young. Must be our gorgeous red head genes, right? ;)

I went to WW this morning. Now that my gym is on track, I am working on my food. I went online and reset my weigh in day and weekly points. I need to be accountable over the weekend and weigh in after it. Look at how Paula has done that to success! After all this time on it, I needed to shake it up. In a good way. Today I used my points and no more! Yipee!!!

Songs to come! Just need time to type! And tomorrow, a new question of the day!

Lisa PR - You know I know ****e about running, so hugs for the feeling.

Roddy, why are you so quiet lately? Speak up, boy!

I'm guessing there... did you try to type "S" "H" "I" "T" "E"? Let's see if they block it like that. Just a guess because I tried to type "S" "H" "I" "T" "E" the other day and it blocked out all but the "E". :surfweb:

I did!!! But they caught me, with my bad language use. :lmao:

Will be back in a bit (gotta enter my food to see exactly what I have left for the day), gotta catch up, but it doesn't look like it will take too long. What happened??

Amiee - it took me 45 minutes to get my internet connection back up and running. Really hate it when that happens.

Hi gang - made it to the mixer and didn't eat too much (a meatball, about 6 rigatoni, a piece of bruschetta and a small slice of really thin pizza) so that was cool. Got a great compliment from someone I haven't seen in a while. I love the oh my god you look fantasic compliments. Made it to the gym and got a good cardio workout it. The looks I was getting when I walked in were cracking me up. I had a pant suit on and the folks at the counter did a double take because they usually see me in jeans or my workout gear. Came home and had some scrambled egg beaters and broccoli to get some protein in and am now catching up on things.

LisaV - The pics are fantastic. You are a true beauty you know. The weight loss totally shows and congrats on rocking the suit without the sarong. What a great feeling.

LisaPR - be strong and keep running. You can do this!!!! Don't let the mental game win. You are stronger than that!

Kat - sending hugs...

Liz - we have missed you. I hope the new weigh in schedule works out for you. It strangely does keep me on track, but there are a few weeks where it comes back to bite me because of planned events for the weekend. Please reveal the playlist... please.... there may be some VB in it for you if you do.

Lyz - how are the plans for the homeshow going? I hope well.

Amy - look at you running in VT... awesome

Erika - you have been quiet today. Isn't this your campus day?

Nancy - I can't believe what those producers did to your famiy member's dance troupe. That is awful. Thankfully, they didn't know what they were doing.

Sunny - where are you?

LisaZ - sounds like the class is going well. How are things otherwise?

Steph - how is life up north? Is it starting to get warm yet? I hae about 40 or so songs on my current cardio playlist. They range from Katy Perry's Hot and Cold to U2 with some Foo Fighters, Green Day and Nickelback thrown in. Lately I have been alternating between dance music for my interval sprints, becuase the tempo goes from fast to really fast and back and metal / alternative (if that is what you call Green Day, etc - Liz correct me if I am wrong) for my straight spinning because the beat is more continuous but yet still fast. Lately, a lot of the music I am listening to has an angry edge to it. Not sure why because it is not normally my thing, but it is working for me right now.

Ronda - look at you getting all excited about C25k. Between you and Liz, you are going to convert everyone on the board to that program (well except for me and Kat... we are both anti running at the moment)

Roddy - it took you long enough to come out of hiding. Don't make us send Nancy after you again.

Dawn - didn't you say that Carsyn's surgery was this week? Hope all is going well.

Off to catch up on a few things, but will check in before I head to bed.

:lmao: Wow, I thought I was the only American that used that word.

I have a bad habit of using words that aren't really used regularly. :rotfl2:

I studied abroad in London when I was in college, 8000 years ago, so I have friends who are British, Irish, Scottish, etc. Also, my BIL is an ex pat and my SIL is an Irish national, so I have constant exposure to non-American English, besides all my TV watching!

I say "no worries" all the time bc my BIL's Australian friends got him on that, and now people constantly ask if I'm Australian or lived there. See, when I see them - the inlaws - it's intensive periods of time and they end up using my "reindeer games" and I end up with "no worries". ;)

Baby, you DO look fantastic!!!

Hmm, VB for revealing the songs? Wow, for sure! Tomorrow! :rotfl:

LisaV - you are inspiring me to dig out some photos and post some new ones. I'll see what I can get together this week....

Liz - you bribe way to easily you know....

I'm here, I'm here. Yes, today usually is my campus day, but it is Spring Break. Which doesn't mean much for me because all of my online stuff is still going.

Tomorrow is tax day for me. Which is literally the most terrifying day of the year for me. Because we never know which way it is going to go. Last year we got a refund. 2 years ago, we owed HUGE. So the whole thing makes me ill. After the year we owed so much, we made some major changes in our witholdings, etc., so hopefully those were still enough and this year we won't get slammed again. At least it will be over tomorrow, the not knowing part anyway. I swear, I am feeling terrible just typing this out. It makes me THAT crazy.

Btw, Weds. is my appointment with the Ob/Gyn (sorry Roddy). So I guess this is my week for appointments I hate, eh?

Back in a bit.

I say "no worries" all the time. One summer, a million years ago, I lived with two Aussies and a Kiwi (from New Zeland), so I picked it up there.

It's very handy to say at bars, which is where I get the most "did you live is Australia?" comments.

First of all. :lmao:on the redhead for me. I do have the genes. My mom is Irish (grandparents sailed over here). She is red. Reds don't even go grey. She greyed strawberry blonde and now is just going whitish at 73. And the poor woman has four kids - none with red hair. Her sister is a redhead. Two out of three of her kids have red hair. My poor mother - she was sad about it. I totally blame my father, and make him feel like sh!t:lmao:, as both have to carry the gene. :lmao: So here's to Loreal.

Liz - I'm not being bashful. My legs are so far from skinny I can't even tell you. Thick, thick thick. :lmao: I swear sweetie I almost banged the computer on the ground in shock of your words. I almost went down. :lmao If they look remotely leaner it's because of that classical stretch ballet thingy I told you about. They still look mushy even though the muscles are there. Jean says to me yesterday, " Do you not remember WTH they used to look like? - how much cellulite and how non-defined they were?". I don't know Jean. I guess I blocked all of that out!!!!:rotfl::lmao:

I did miss you. And I am relieved to see you. Really.

You are rockin' these day Liz. Good for you.

Can't wait for the songs.

Liz - the 260. I actually agree. Pompous of me but I do. I'm around 210 or so right now. I don't think I look 210. Actually I should open a "200 pound woman photo thread" on the WISH. :lmao:

Paula - good. Liz and Erika's pics inspired me so. I so wish I had a before photo. There is this old on a horse photo. Just let's say that poor poor horse. I actually asked the owner about my weight on him before I got on.

Good wishes for the taxes.

And Roddy doesn't care. He already said so. I love that.

Weird. Canadians say "no worries" all the time. Sorry - gosh sorry all the time. Not sari. :lmao: Sorry. Every language I studied I knew it.
