In Search of My Body....Not the One I ATE! Vol. 5: Goddesses are Always on Top!

Hang in there, Kat and keep us posted! I sent you an e-mail with the info. we talked about earlier.

Kat & D ~ hang in there!

Just gotta vent a bit!

I have to go to the dentist tomorrow. GAWD I hate that. Love my dentist though. She is super sweet and hard working! She is a professor and has her own business. Just can't stand taking the time to go. Ugh!

Ok, I am over it.:teeth:

Good morning everyone!

Paula, no the snow is STILL here. In fact, more for tomorrow morning, changing to sleet, changing to rain. Just yucky. My driveway is a mushy mess!! Of course, that is a sure sign of spring!!:goodvibes

Erika, super congrats once again. Rockin the 20 YO crowd is awesome in itself. :thumbsup2

Nancy, love the marathon comment. I am starting to feel more like that all the time. I tell myself that after the 14 this weekend I will have completed more than half the distance so it should be all good from here...not... And 20 miles on a TM, I would slit my wrists, seriously. On top of which I don't think they would allow me back in the gym again!! :scared1:

Kat, thinking of you. Thoughts for your family. Positive thoughts. :wizard:

Amy, love the Maine shirt! Too funny. D looks like she loved the Barnstormer. I remember when that was my kids favorite ride... Oh that was a long time ago. Total agreement on the fact that you look supreme!! Keep up the great work!!

Everyone else, :wave2:

As for the Florida trip...:beach: I got nothin... I am still holding out hope with the 3/4 deal extending out more and more and Jet Blue holding air at about $69 one way out of Portland though. There is always that chance that pixie dust will hit. We have Nashville in April and VAB in September and that eats up the vacay budget along with the multiple trips through NE with field hockey. We still have one in Providence and one in Greenfield, MA to go.

I am proud to say that I have over 20 miles in already this week and 8 more to go! It seems strange to get nearly half my weekly miles in 1 run but yet good at the same time. Today is girls to the gym day and 4 miles for me. I will end up on the elliptical because I do the miles faster and have minimal time with 3 teenage girls staring at me. Absolutely nothing on the books for this evening although I am sure that will change. Mike's hours will have to switch to the graveyard shift soon due to the roads being posted and higher daytime temps. Thankfully he does not have much wood to haul as the mills are on strict quotas right now too. Lots of them are rotating shut downs. He has less wood to haul but it takes just as long most of the time because he is sitting waiting to get into the mill. :sad2: He also signed a contract on his first full site house lot yesterday. So spring is definitely coming!! :flower3: Soon I hope. I dislike this time of year where everything looks "dirty".

Have a great day everyone and keep up the great work. I love reading the updated bios as everyone has come a long way from when I first joined the thread!

All of this talk of getting together reminds me...

Who has Disney trips planned and for when? I know there are some trips coming up.

Not Disney, but we are headed to San Antonio during April break.

I have GOT to stop dreaming! Last night I dreamt that there was a triathalon at the beach by right at my parents house (they do in fact live right on the shore). We decided last second to do it. REALLY last second. Like, the first waves of swimmers had already finished the race and they were just about to start the final legs. I had a bathing suit. And running shoes. And even a bike. But as they handed me my LIFE JACKET to swim in :lmao: I realized I didn't have a bike helmet and wondered if it would be ok if I just kept the life jacket on instead :confused3

Off to the gym soon. Getting my hair cut & highlighted today. :woohoo:

:lmao: Yeah, maybe it's causing hallucinations.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVr8GEn5yJA

During the talent show at school the 7th grade class did a part with a kid dancing to that song! My kids knew that it was from family guy... me not a clue! It was funny I thought I had video it but I forgot to hit the record button! See nancy your not alone!

And because Lyz and LisaV will ask, here is the description of the Muddy Buddy race:

Each race features a 6-7 mile course and 5 obstacles. At the start of the race, one team member will run and one will ride the bike. At the 1st obstacle, the rider will drop the bike, complete the obstacle, and begin running. The runner will arrive, complete the obstacle, find their bike, and begin riding. Teams will continue leapfrogging each other through the entire course. At the end of the race, racers will crawl through the infamous Mud Pit crossing the finish line together!

So each of you basically has to run 3 miles, ride 3 miles, and complete obstacles along the way. Doesn't it sound like a RIOT?!?! OMG, SO much fun!
I would so like to see that!

I so agree on Amy!! SO THIN!!!

Once again, if you think that you are the hugest, widest, broadest thing around, then I shudder to think what you think of me!!

Did you know that Richmond is like 2 hours from me? Not that I would do a Muddy Buddy, but it is.

Paula, GREAT job!!!! :yay:

Sorry that I didn't comment more, but I am in a hotel in Greenville, NC because my MIL was rushed to the hospital this morning. Keep her in your thoughts.

I didn't eat well tonight.
Oh amy yes so thin! And little D OMG so cute!

Kat if you need anything let us know prayers and thoughts with you!

Gollllleeeeyyyy - Post Much People? And I missed the fun.

AMY!!!! You look so great. Like normal. Not overweight at all. The shoes with your shorts look fine. I know what you mean, but you are past the point of looking blah with shorts and tennis shoes. And your legs are about a mile long. Lucky dog. You look awesome. Delena - so so so precious running around in a princess dress and pink backpack. Oh I LOVE little girls.

Paula! :woohoo: Awesome job on another loss!!!!! Seriously!!!! So dark.

And I threw together a dinner for the inlaws and they loved it and it was low points and I did it in 10 minutes -

What did you make? How's Mr. SG doing with his daily 37 points? (He's prolly gaining weight with that much room!)

And <hold on for the bill collector in me to come out> a near perfect credit rating!

HI LAR IOUS!!! That is too much.

Muddy Buddy. Ewww. EriKa - I hate mud. Hate it. I would never do it.

Nancy - your dreams! Funny!

Listen up! I met with my account this morning. My federal damage is...

hold on...

wait for it...

ok...

$1,500.00:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

OMG! - and thank heavens for estimated taxes. Just sayin'. (I still need to go over it for errors. Course maybe I shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth - just sign it, cut the check and be done  )

You know what, I am doing pretty good right now work wise. I am not in the weeds on anything. Weird feeling.

Morning!

Roddy--you asked for it! :rotfl2: I have no sympathy for you whatsoever since you walked right into it on your own! :lmao: Never, and I mean never, tell Lyz NOT to use a certain word or icon. Cause then she will use it in every. single. post.

Nancy--FUNNY dreams! What a riot! I wish I remembered more of my dreams. I rarely do. But J has the most outrageous dreams, like every night, and remembers all of them.

LisaPR--I know what you mean about mud season! I hate it when everything looks dirty. Now mud for the Muddy Buddy, that wouldn't bother me! :lmao: But mud season, yuck! For those not in Maine, we have 4 seasons just like everywhere else, it's just that our seasons our a bit different. We have Summer Week, Leaves, Winter, and Mud. Those are the 4 seasons of Maine.

As for your long runs--way to go! Awesome job on the 12-miler. I notice that you are upping 2 miles per week as opposed to 10% per week. Any reasoning here?

More to say to all, but need to get going. Time to go babysit my dad. His surgery was yesterday and he is fine, so that is good. But he can't be left unattended at all for the first 2 weeks that he is home. And my mom will have to get out of the house each day just for sanity as well as basics (errands and appointments and grocery shopping, etc.) so I will hang at their house while she does her running around.

And I have to re-vamp my work-out routine. I am going to switch from high cardio moderate strength to more strength training and moderate cardio. But I have to plan it all out first. Hmmm...maybe I'll make a spreadhseet for it. NOT. Why? Because I am not insane. :rotfl2:

LisaV--you will be in Vero soon, right? Dates?

EE--when?

Cathy--anything?

Anyone else with something in the works?

Well, I was hoping to go to Disneyland in May with my very best friend, but with my $$$ situation that isn't going to happen :sad1: . I've been reading TRs like crazy, though, and reading about everyone's plans! That's good enough for me! I keep telling myself that I've been really lucky in that I've been to Disney several times, while so many of my friends can only dream of going once in a lifetime. It sure would be nice to be able to count walking around a theme park as my daily exercise, though! :thumbsup2

Yep, he called it a tribal scorpion. Whatever that means. :confused3 And the butthead didn't take very many pics. What is up with that???

um - he's a guy... they don't do pictures.

Bad boy who has his head on straight, lol. :)

:rotfl2:

He also has a house, a hot tub, and a classic car. And <hold on for the bill collector in me to come out> a near perfect credit rating! Yeah, I helped him read his credit bureau. I do have a thing for the bad boy type (as long as he doesn't treat me like a bad boy).

He sounds like a responsible bad boy type so that is good.

I'm with you on the dentist thing. Was there this morning and my whole day is now thrown off.

Erika - I am so glad that your dad's surgery went well. Hope you and your mom keep your sanity trying to keep him resting. Good luck with the new workout plan. For what its worth, Jesse has told me time and again that you will hit a wall if you focus mostly on cardio. He says that strength training gives you more bang for the buck (the residual calorie burn post workout is much longer after strength training than after a straight cardio session). All stuff you probably know already, but good info to have. Good luck planning.

Today is a busy one for me since I got a late start. Need to get a bunch of stuff done here and then head home for Tuesday night dinner with the family and then my training session (where Jesse already told me I would be working the weights hard tonight :scared: ). Hopefully, I'll have some energy left to start the whole FB thing tonight. I will try.

Have a great day everyone. Oh and we have mud here as well. That is proof that spring is coming.

Later,
Paula

Erika, the 2 miles a week is about keeping my LR at less than or equal to my total mileage for the week and, also about fitting into the marathon plan that I use. My first training week is actually the week of 3/30/09 and goes for the next 4 weeks to CMM. My LR each week is being increased by 2 up to 18 miles and then training starts with my first LR of 20 miles. If I waited and just started at 20 I would be very  to say the least.

This is my training for the week of 3/30:
M-Short easy run, XT or rest
T-9-12 miles with 8 x2 minutes at HM pace
W-Easy run, XT or rest
Th-Easy run with 4 x10 second hill sprints
F-1-2 miles easy/8 x1K at 10K pace/1-2 miles easy
Sa-Easy run or XT
Su-20 miles easy w/5 x1 mile at HM pace

Mileage increases from there with 3 peaking runs (basically one a week) the first peak run is the Sunday 20 miler. I go up to 22 and then back down again for the LRs.

So that is my reasoning, such as it is. I have faithfully followed the running plans that were in Runners World (I think I posted a link a very long time ago) and they have done well by me. It makes it so you can do any race with 4 weeks of training, marathon included, so I am giving it a go again. It will either work or not. Patrick (Tiggerspal222) is doing the CMM full with me and he is walking the distance at about a 12:30 to 13:00 pace so I have something to fall back on if this fails.

Did I mention that only gained 1.2 pounds since Jan12 (which was the last time I went to WW) I didn't think that was to bad considering the way I have been eating! so it wasn't a 10 pound gains since thanksgiving it was 9 pound gain.

Oh here is a picture of Sam and her friend maggie on the night of the winter formal
CIMG2838.jpg

Steph - that is awesome news about not gaining as much as you thought. I love it when the scale surprises you in a good way. Again, so proud of your for going back and facing the scale. Total godess crown for that right gang?

The girls look great.

Paula

Name, Age, and Family -
Lyz(32) Husband(31), 2 girls Molli(13) & Madeline(5.9) and dog Marvin(10.8)

Weight Loss Program, History and Current Goals -
Calorie counting, (when I feel like it). I was successful with calorie counting in 2003. Just can't find the umph I need this go around. Looking to lose a minimum of 45lbs.

Favorite Exercise and Healthy Snack -
Yeah right. Exercise is a hateful thing. Healthy snack - not eating the whole bag or plate of anything.

Favorite Indulgence -
Shopping, eating, daydreaming.

Best Disney Pixie Dust/Magic Story -

The best time I had at Walt Disney World would be in February of 2007. We went to the Pirate & Princess Party and it was money well spent. The park was empty. It was late (11pm), the day of travel (exhausting), but me and my girls were revved to be in the Magic Kingdom. We ran, full on ran, from ride to ride and collecting beads. Molli was 11 and Maddi was 3. It was Maddi's first trip as an aware little girl. She was in awe. We danced. It makes me giddy thinking of it.

Hey, you changed your signature again. Why?

Prolly cause I'm a restless soul.

Couple reasons.

1. Jumbo and Dumbo is a very sweet thing. I am sarcastic and dark. I found it disconcerting to see a snarking post with a loving tribute at the bottom.

2. I am going thru pictures and am getting my Disney trips confused in my head, so I placed them in infamy.

Looking at your trip history. Honey, you NEED DVC. Need it. With 2 kids and going at least once a year, you will save money and have way better accommodations. And you know that Bob will say yes. YOU are the debt-phobic one! :rotfl2: And the rates for DVC are GREAT right now. Just sayin.

Yes, I am with my dad now. He is happily snoozing, though.

Name, Age, and Family -
Liz (34), husband Nick (34), one child, Emily (4)

Weight Loss Program, History and Current Goals -
I've been on WW since October 2007. I've lost nearly 80lbs, but have put back on some since Thanksgiving and March. My goal is to get back to the 80lb loss and then go from there. I can see no more than a total loss of 85lbs. But really, I'll be happy with 80lbs.

Favorite Exercise and Healthy Snack
-
Bizarrely, I love spin class. And I do enjoy my yoga/Pilates although it's hard. If given my choice, I'd only do those two things.

Healthy snack - Really, did I write this? Idiot. Um...2pt Pop Secret popcorn, apples, and 100 calorie almond packs.

Favorite Indulgence -
Food - Movie theater popcorn and peanut butter cups. And Saltines and Ritz crackers.
Drink - Beer, wine, gin and soda
Activity - cut-rate mani/pedis, facials, and shopping
No cost thing - sleeping late and staying in my Pj's for the day with my fam

Best Disney Pixie Dust/Magic Story -
I took my BFF to WDW in Jan 2008. It was her first time there. We were 33 and 36. We choose the Poly because it was two of us splitting it, and I wanted somewhere nice with less kids for her. So we get there late the first night, and they tell us our room isn't available but they have upgraded us. To concierge. I start jumping up and down! It was the first of many wonderful pixie dust moments. Jodi even bought a Tink necklace, claiming Tink brought us luck. And she did. We walked on rides, got any ADR we wanted, and even drank for a night for free after running into people from our hometown. The whole trip was magical, and it remains one of, if not the best, vacation of my life.

I know!!!! I want DVC just for the freggin' washer/dryer combo! When I have the cash, I will buy BWV thru resale. Not until then.
