Hi guys. I'm sorry I've been so elusive lately. I am having the blahs and I'm so tired. I'd rather sleep than do just about anything.
WORD. WORD. WORD. Why can't we be allowed to sleep for days? I mean, really. Why can't we?
I'm going thru a lot of upheaval with my weight loss. My body fights me tooth and nail. I'll have a really good day and exercise and eat healthy and I'll gain a pound. The next time, I'll eat unhealthly, example: toasted ravoli with dinner and lose a pound. It gets discouraging. (I know I should only weigh in once a week, but I can't help myself.)
Please stop weighing yourself every day. It will make you crazy. And remember, at this stage it's more about portion control than anything else, so eat the ravs, just fewer.
So, between my racing mind, my tireness and feeling out the best way to get comfortable in the clothes I'm wearing before I can even move to a smaller size has me pushing you to the back of my list. I have to stop doing that cause here is where I'm most motivated. That is alarmingly clear.
We're like AA. You gotta come when you feel most in danger.
Where I went yesterday: Well, here's the story. We got the camping spot. Now I need a camper rental. I call around and pretty much everyone is sold out. They tell me, "there is a fair that week." (ummm, yeah, that's why I need a camper.)
So last Friday, I find a camper for rent. And bonus, it's a brand new unit that hasn't sold, and they are moving it to the rental department. (Which for Bob and I is awesome, cause we are snobs about clean and other peoples germs.) I say, I'll have to call you right back. Talk to Bob and he's like, we should just buy one. Which I don't necessarily want to do. I want to take my time and find the right camper at the right price.
We spend the weekend scouring the internet and tradin' times for the right one. Monday morning I go to a town an hour away to a dealership to look around. I spent yesterday morning with "the master of the camper sale." He's all, "that's just what I do for my customers." "blah blah" (Maddi is with me and he lifts her on the top bunk) and tells me "how much he likes kids. 3 boys" "blah blah" "lemme tell you this and I'm not just selling you, I think camping is the best way for families to spend time, away from the phones and tv" and I'm thinking, buddy, this is probably gonna happen once and year and we will have phones, tv's and internet.
I'll cut to the chase. I drove to a remote town an hour away, listened to the pitch, drove back, and both, BOTH ways, I stuck, 3rd car back, behind someone who thought the speed limit was 30! I was literally jumping out of my skin.
And then, Bob says, well that's too much money. Just rent the camper you found. LAST WEEK. I literally just snagged it from a guy who was intersted but didn't put any money down. So, it was a long, well life really.
See, nothing exciting is going on, just stuff I have to do.
Are you kidding? That's a worthy saga! And oy to the vey, why are husbands such pains in the a$$? Nick totally would have done the same thing, and I'd have wanted to scream.
We weigh the hogs tonight. The fair is the first week of August. The one we take to fair will officially weigh in on Sunday August 3rd at 7am. Cross your fingers for tonight.
Be fat, hogs, be fat!
Goof - great job with the weight loss. Sounds like a good weekend. Girls night out are the BEST in my book. (I agree about his voice. All the interviews he's doing, they are raving about his voice, but I don't find it appealing in the clips.)
WTH? Did I miss this?
Liz - so did you have a good time at your weekends shingdigs? Bowling party, fun. What is the theme or at least what is on the cake? (and great job at going to the gym, when all you want to do is nap.)
The party is at a bowling alley. They set up bumpers and a ball rolling positioner for the little kids. We get a big old table behind the lanes and a hostess who stays with us the whole time. I'm renting two lanes for the adults, and we'll have pizza and soda. The cake is from the grocery store - sorry, Martha's in the house. It's vanilla with strawberry filling, and pink and white icing with the big four princesses on it - Belle, Ariel, Cinderella, and Aurora (Em's fav). The cupcakes are vanilla with pink icing and princess flags on them - you know, those little pointy plastic things they stick on the tops. I have no idea what I should get for favors, but I'm thinking maybe sidewalk chalk. What do you think? It's cheap and summer like, but not chintzy. I hate the throw-away stuff and the candy. Ideas?
E - gosh I hope your dad is ok. Jessica, well, I'm guessing some of it might be her age. 11 right? That's just such a "me, me, me" period. Well, all of child hood is, but espically then. I am so in the middle of it.
Very good point!
Did your brother realize you were losing weight or was he suprised at how good you look? Sounds like a fun time at your house.
Good question!
Snuff - the pictures were good. Sam is beautiful. And you call your mom, "mommy" - sweet. The house you want to buy, did the storms affect it?
Another good question!
Kat - yeah, I am right there with you regarding the meh. Glad the kitties are getting on. Ohh, a weekend by the pool sounds lovely. Crossing my fingers the job situation works itself out the way you want. "Yes" to reaching. That's what's gotten you this far.
And thanks to whoever recommended fiber one bars. I got the peanut butter, and YUM-O! Seriously.
