In search of my body...not the one I ate! Part Deux... We sit at the popular table!

And you know what? I was like, who gets sick in July??? And then I remembered you did! WTH? Why are we sick in the summer? Too much exercise? :rotfl2:

What color for the pedi? I chose OPI's 20 Candles on My Cake. Love it. Also got the brows done (cause I read the blog and I don't want to be one of those women...:rotfl2: ).

Wait and see how you feel. Don't run when sick. I even took today off. It should have been my long run day. But I have been over-training and I feel it. So no running today...which is kind of a bummer since I had the time and everything (it is hard to block out the time of my long run).

Sorry you are not feeling great. You will be fine for the week-end, I am sure. No AIM tonight for you. Go to sleep early.

But I am having a good day...a perfect mix of indulgence and getting things done.

I got one, too! (A pedicure.) For these two events this weekend.

I feel like dog sh$t. My throat still hurts and I'm wiped and I can't believe I could get sick. Like, are you kidding me? I have workouts to do! Events to go to! Booze to drink! So all the "rock ons" are really propping me up today. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

My to-do list is scary. Too much in two days, before we head out on Friday. I need energy. I hate being sick! Do I see how I feel, or run no matter what tomorrow? I don't know how this training stuff works!

If you are trying to leave town on Friday, I'd say your first priority should be to feel better....I'd probably skip the exercise.

Erika - I LOVE that you hired a service to deep clean.. I LOVE it. Good for you.

Nancy - We need to hear more about this super cool PR 12 yr old. How did she get that job? Tell us about it!

Exercise - I know this is crazy, but I want to do it. I want to keep it up. I want to see if I can run more than 7 minutes! Hi, Dark Side. This is Liz. How are you?

But, I guess maybe I should rest. Wow. Rest? Really?

hi guys -
you all make me envious with excersize tak - I need to get me some of that motivation -

Teyner won his game again - we cleaned the house this morning before we would leave and I would not leave till the list was done - Treyner was motivated for once ;)

love the pics and love the motivation quote from goof...off to bed to get up at 7 to drive back where I just got home from.

weigh in tom....kinda nervous...

Liz -sooo proud
Snow - he likes to look at your caboose while biking!
Kat - best of luck for Friday
E - love the cleaning lady - would they remove refuse also? (ahemmm...Giant Turd?):rotfl2:
Lyz - cuute girls
Goof - keep up the words:3dglasses

Good morning, ladies! (and Dan!)

I am up and at 'em. Still the sore throat, still want to sleep for days, still have TOM, but today is nice and sunny, there is no flooding in our house and that's all good. I'm going to drop Em off at VBS and then go to the gym. Don't know if I will run or just walk it out, but I feel I'm on a roll and need to keep rolling! Although, true confession, ate some cookie dough last night as I baked, but I tracked it! :lmao: So I need to burn that off.

See you later!

Geez, where is everyone today?

Tons going on today...here it is 11am and we have already been to swim practice, tennis lessons, and dance. (Not, not all 4 kids had all 3 activities...I am not that much of an over-scheduling mom!)

I am getting ready for the cleaning crew and then will hit the gym while they overhaul my house. Then off to take the kids to a b'day party. Phew. What happened to yesterday? Can we roll back the clock?

Hi gang...

Thursdays are my meeting mornings, so I am just getting to catch up on e-mails and such and I got here at 7:45 this morning.... eek...

Well, I had my desk all cleared off yesterday and now it looks like a bomb went off on it... Too much to do and not enough hours in the day I guess...

I am psyched... tonight is my functional strength class at the gym. Bought a new yoga mat and everything.... can't wait to go... haven't worked out since Monday and am starting to feel it. I may need to find time for a fourth workout a week the way I am going... Liz - hope you share the flashlight because I am wading into some dark territory....

Have a great day everyone... I'll try to check in later...
Paula

So, WW this morning. Down 1.2lbs, 68.6 total. Puts me at 168.4. I am very happy with that. :)
Wow I am so happy for you :dance3: When I was looking back at all the messages I missed I saw one of you in your swimsuit and you looked great. You should be very very proud of yourself.:thumbsup2

Your kids are cute and your pigs are very clean, my daughter has been working with sheep all summer, she even got a pair of cowboy boots to walk through the barns.

I got one, too! (A pedicure.) For these two events this weekend.

!
Hope you feel better soon, you might want to take it easy or just don't do as intense workout. Lots of water to flush out the germs...Here's a hug to make it you feel better soon.

I wrote yesterday but it did not post, not sure what is up with that.

Goof, I loved your saying, I wrote it down and it is now on my computer so I can read it everyday.

It is dark and stormy looking this morning. I did some yard work early because it has been so hot around here by afternoon. Now it looks like we are in for some more storms. I really hope just rain, no wind, I am sick of picking up sticks... DD Hanna got really sick yesterday, fever, throwing up (like Linda Blair) chills, major pains in her stomach, I think she got food poisoning or maybe she drank some of the river water the day before when she went tubbing. But what ever it was she feels a lot better today.

Dawn, glad soccer is going well, :yay: hope they go all the way and you don't get rained out.

I wanted to say thanks to all of you who gave me a kick in the shorts about getting back on track. I need that from time to time and I have been doing really well the last 2 days. Actually looking at some of you pictures and seeing such a change really makes me want to change my body. Not sure is I will ever look good in a swim suit, but it worth a try. Thanks again guys, for caring.:)

Well off to do :laundy: which by the way I totally hate doing.

Erika - I have totally turned into you, going to the gym then to the grocery then to the pool, picking the kid up from VBS. Seriously, with this and the running, it's like WHOA. Who am I? Well, at least I turn into someone cool!

Paula - passing over the flashlight. It's so dark in here I can barely see my running shoes!

Jodi - Oh, it's so good to see you on here. Thank for you the hugs. I am powering through this cold. I need it to go away and bother someone else.

So, today I went and did my run/walk. I did 8 and a half minutes jogging, and then just walked the rest of the time. I just don't want to mess with my training. I am starting to think I might be able to do this, lose the rest of the weight, hit goal, and run a 5k. A year ago I was heavy and unhappy about it and eating because I didn't care, and today I am pushing myself one more minute. Our power to change our lives is amazing.

I hope you all surprise yourself in a good way today. :goodvibes

Our power to change our lives is amazing.

AMEN to that!

Hope everyone is having (or at this point..HAD!) a great day. I had to work - about 1000* in that kitchen today. Came home, jumped in the pool...and now I'm awaiting DH to call....he is out baling hay, and I may need to go unload. Typically I embrace the thought of another opportunity to exercise :rolleyes1 but today it's so hot here and the humidity has crept up...and I'm feelin' like a big ole puddle!

As for my water - I've got a new (well, not "new", but different) bottle that I'm using. 20 oz'er...and I'm on my 3rd for the day...haven't finished the third, but it's made me painfully aware of how water deprived I've been. :sad2:

Tonight I have my 4-H goat group coming for a meeting - 25 kids in that group! It's tricky because they range in age from 7 - 17 with a huge array of experience & interest levels. :scared: Some are on vacation though, so I rarely get all 25 at the same time (thankfully! That's a lot of kids to manage. Can I hear a big THANK YOU to all those teachers in the world :cheer2: )

OK - bracing myself for this evening!

AND KAT - good luck to you tomorrow morning. I hope it all works out to your satisfaction...:thumbsup2

ACK!!! DH IS DRIVING IN WITH A HUGE LOAD OF HAY. CRAP. (pray for me people...this could get ugly...)

Hi All--what a LONG day. I am wiped. And I have conferences till midnight. And J gets home at 1am.

The good...had a great food day. Came in way under (which is good since yesterday was over). I had a strong 5.25 mile run. Took the kids to a birthday party and did not indulge.

The bad...way behind at work (yes, again!) and I don't have the time or energy to get caught up tonight. BUT...we are not going away this week-end. Finally.

The ugly...my brother and his family (FIVE kids) just informed us that they will be here Sunday. I love them all dearly, but that is A LOT to handle. So I have to get things ready for the invasion.

The clean...the crew did a good job. Not amazing, but good and certainly good enough for now. It was over-priced for what I got, but live and learn. I will try other people and services in the future. I am not bummed at paying too much because I just needed to have a starting point and go from there.

Erika - I have totally turned into you, going to the gym then to the grocery then to the pool, picking the kid up from VBS. Seriously, with this and the running, it's like WHOA. Who am I? Well, at least I turn into someone cool!

Ok, first I love you for calling me cool! :cool1: Yeah, the whole running and fitness thing is wild. Honestly, I never thought the running thing would stick for me. But like you said, once you feel like you are actually "training" then you don't want anything to screw up that training.

And yeah...what a year it has been for you! I continued to be amazed and awed by you. And lucky that I can just bask in your presence. :goodvibes

But...if you are really turning into me, you gotta go get yourself knocked up and get those other kids! :rotfl2: Cause you know I live in a zoo where chaos abounds. You are way ahead of me in that regard.

LYZ...what gives? Only one post in 2 days. I am worried. Re-surface, please. :goodvibes

Judy blume rules!:lmao:

Today was a pretty good day. I walked 30 minutes this morning. I am just trying to get things done so I can take the week of fair off and not have to worry about it. I think I'm gonna get crazier and crazier from here on out.

Liz - great job at pushing thru. You are turning into EriKa. (But don't listen to her - 1 and done. I am doing you a favor. 1 and done.)

EriKa - maid services never clean like you would. You are exactly right, gave you a good jumping off point. So are is your brothers family staying *AT* your house? How is Jessica getting along?

Nancy - sound's like you had a busy day. What goodies were you making today? (and how do you not eat them all?)

Kat - good wishes for the job interview tomorrow.

Jodi - good to hear from you again. When you're here, you are on the right track.

Dawn - good luck with the weigh in.

Goof - 4 classes a week! Lady you are on fire.

Ok. Gotta get some zzzzz's. Night.

Lyz...about the fair. I remember your post from way back when about sweating through your shirt and skin-on-skin chafing, and basically being miserable, etc.

Thoughts: first, go to Target and get some tech wear. This is running/work-out gear that is designed to wick the sweat away from your body. And it totally works! I get the stuff by Champion. The sports bras are GREAT. Sure, you still sweat, but it really does feel loads better than regular cotton, etc. Then wear a tech shirt over the tech sports bra and you will be much more comfortable. Make sure it says duo-dry. Do not get the cotton blend stuff. Get the stuff that feels sort of "slippery" if that makes sense. As a bonus, you can also wear it for your work-outs now that you are coming to the dark side! :cool1:

If you are worried about chaffing, go to a sporting goods store (like Olympia in the mall) and get Body Glide. It looks like a stick of deoderant and works the same way. You just rub in on the parts that are likely to chafe and then you are all set. Does not stain clothes or leave a grease spot or anything like that.

Hope this helps!

Plus, since you have the camper this year, you can go back and shower and change and all of that, so I am sure that will help you to be more comfortable as well.

Yep. Such is the life of a 4H parent! Times 3 in my house - plus DD's publicity "stuff"...<sigh> keeps us ALL busy :crazy2: I'm doing some contact work for her right now - before we do more HAY this morning - gotta get it in before the temps hit the mid 90's today..:scared1:
Liz - great job at pushing thru. You are turning into EriKa. (But don't listen

Nancy - sound's like you had a busy day. What goodies were you making today? (and how do you not eat them all?)

Working today - got to bake one cake, but decorate 4. It's different cooking in a kitchen where the customers can see you/talk to you, etc. I'm not nearly as likely to be sampling the food I make at work as I am when I'm cooking at home, in my own kitchen. Every now and then I have to taste something for seasoning, etc - but then it's a small taste on a spoon and that's it...

Kat - good wishes for the job interview tomorrow.

Yes Kat - thinking of you - you're probably on your way there now... :flower3:

I used Body Glide when I was training for the Disney Marathon...yep. It works. Feels at bit "odd" to be rubbing yourself down with what feels like ski wax! Definitely works though!

Yeah- I sort of envy the camper idea....we always have too many animals at home that need to be cared for - so we schlep back and forth at the crack of dawn and home again late at night - we are total zombies by the time the weekend is done...

Have a great Friday everyone.

Hi All...

Made it through my second functional strength class last night and it was awesome... My legs are like jello when I am done, but it feels good to get stronger. I need to look into doing something to strengthen my lower back though. That starts to eek out a few twinges of pain now and then... Just enough to remind me to suck in my big ole gutt to support it...

Erika - I bought one of the tech shirts with the duo dry to try and I love it... I have some golf shirts with that wicking technology and can't imagine golfing without them anymore.... Next I have to hunt down a sports bra with that technology... It makes the workouts so much more comfortable....

Gotta run, but I'll check in later today...

Kat - thinking good thoughts for you this morning.... let us know how things go...

Paula

Hi Gang!

It is super crazy today. We leave for DC at noon and I've got enough stuff to take me until 3pm, at least! I even skipped my two hour gym workout today. It was either spin or wearing clothes in public, and while I'm looking good I don't think I'm looking THAT good.:lmao:

Anyhoo, reading but not commenting, just keeping up with you all in between my mad dashes. Have a great day, everyone!
