In search of my body...not the one I ate! Part Deux... We sit at the popular table!

Hi All...

Made it through my second functional strength class last night and it was awesome... My legs are like jello when I am done, but it feels good to get stronger.

:yay: :yay: Yay for functional strength classes! Isn't it great to find an exercise that you actually enjoy?? :goodvibes

I have some golf shirts with that wicking technology and can't imagine golfing without them anymore....

Golf. Now there's something I really stink at. Really, really, really stink. Even mini-golf. :rolleyes1 It's kinda funny, because both my parents are HUGE golfers, and my brothers as well...but my sister and I? Eh - we'll meet you at the 19th hole....

Hi Gang!

It is super crazy today. We leave for DC at noon .....

Have a GREAT time! :thumbsup2

Ok, ok, back to work. ooohh---I get to have my hair cut & colored in just a little while....:woohoo: :woohoo: getting a little too much gray showing for my tastes... :rolleyes1

Good morning! Wow, we are all busy today! Quick post for me as well...trying to figure out how I am going to get through everything today. While the kids were at swim practice, I got in a 2 mile walk on the beach, so that was nice. It was either that or just hang and chat with the moms that I don't like. I usually don't do anything during that time b/c there isn't enough time for a run, but then I thought...why not just walk? I'll still get my run in later in the day and at least I am not sitting on my a$$.

Paula--great job on the class!

Kat--awaiting the report.

Liz--have a great trip! Try to keep us posted.

Nancy--I feel for you! Hang in there.

Ok, so with my status of lurky mclurkster over the past few months i have no right to come and b1tch about things, but i'm gonna anyway!

I don't get it. I have NO energy, no matter how much or how little i sleep at night, nothing. I actually sat down on the couch yesterday when i got home just to open the mail, and i fell asleep! Are you kidding? Tired, Headache, and now TOM is coming this weekend... :headache:

I was eating good, and then the more tired i got, the worse i ate, started going out to lunch, cereal for dinner, just bad. No energy, no motivation! I need someone to kick my @ss into gear!

Ok, rant over.... sorry!

Stacey--you never have to worry about ranting here...that is what we are here for! Sorry for your lack of energy. Of course, you know what my advice is going to be...exercise! :lmao: Seriously though, it is well known that adding regular exercise into your daily and weekly routines will result in more energy.

I am sure, though, that you are just feeling the result of months of hard stress. The wedding, the move, the family health issues, etc. You have had more than your share of "major life changes" recently, so it only make sense that it will all catch up with you.

Are you drinking your water? That could also be the culprit. Lack of fluids leads to lack of energy.

Kat--what happened at the interview???

As for me--good work-out today. Did the 2 mile beach walk this morning, and then later I did a 14 mile bike ride plus some strength training. That all felt good.

BUT...I took the kids to see Wall-e today (it was good...though not as great as the other Pixar movies) and shared their onion rings and french fries! Aaargh! (This movie theater has table service as well...it is actually a really cool set up.) But I am ticked at myself. There was no reason to cave like that. I had a great food day going in to this, I wasn't hungry...it was just, I don't know, there.

I am trying to look at the silver lining here, though. Afterwards (for about an hour or two), I felt just awful. Definitely not worth it. So maybe this will stay in my memory and I will be less likely to indulge next time.

Ok, time to get the kids in bed. Then, if I am on my game tonight (and I feel good right now), then I can actually get completely caught up with work tonight. That would feel awesome!

So, I'll be around most the night. Hope to see more of you check in.

Ahem, Dawn....how was your WW weigh-in???

It is the week-end and I am glad. No swim practice, no tennis lessons. We actually have very little planned which is great. I still have to get ready for my brother and his enormous family (and yes, they are staying here at my house), but that is the only huge task on my plate.

I didn't get completely caught up with work last night, but I made a great strides so that feels good. It is my goal to have things buttoned up by the end of the week-end. We'll see.

I have my long run scheduled for today (8 miles...maybe 8.5). It always scares me and I never think I am going to be able to do it, etc. I can't wait for the insecurity about running to go away!

Have a great day!

Sorry I've been lacking in posts lately. No good excuses, just seem to have things to do. Last night I caught up with 3 weeks worth of daily papers. They were mocking me and needed tossed. It took me a couple hours/while Ceasar Milan was on tv (he's awesome) but I am done!!!

Have a picnic today with an Aunt who is in from Florida, then tonight we have a cookout at a house we built. A "thank you" cookout for everyone who worked on it. So, I'll probably be MIA for the day. Might check in tonight, depending how late I get in.

Don't know if the hogs are gaining weight, but they are eating like crazy, so I'm hopeful.

E - yeah, onion rings really do call to you. At least you felt bad.

Regarding the wisking material, sounds great. But....aren't they kinda form fitting? I will check into either way. And definatly buy for exercising. I'm having issues with my armpits. I usually wear tank tops for walking and I get sweaty and I can't stand my arms touching my sides. So, if I get moisture wicking tshirts then I'd solve a couple issues.

Kat - don't keep us in suspense. We need details.

Stacey - sorry you are so tired. E is right, it's probably the aftermath. Do you take a multivitiman or even just an iron pill? That might help some.

Liz
- hope your having a good time and feeling better.

Nancy - I'm waiting on a picture.

Paula - yeah, gotta take care of the core. Otherwise everything else hurts. I think.

Later

The interview went well, I think. I would take it if offered, but who knows? It would be more responsibility w/ possibility of direct reports in the next year or two, and 8 miles from home rather than the 24 that I drive now. I really liked the main person I would be working with, she is my age and seems fun.

It seemed like they liked me, but one never knows. I was the first one that they have brought in for a face-to-face interview, so I have a feeling I may have to wait for a week or two to hear.

Oh well, I have a job, and am in no huge hurry.

My friend came over last night to play with the kitten. She left around 11 and I crashed out HARD about 20 min later. D is in Charlotte until Monday, so I am a single mom of two cats.

And my eating and exercise has been awful. Back on track tomorrow.

Glad you both checked in.

Lyz--yes, some of the wicking material is form fitting, but certainly not all. You can play around with different cuts and brands and sizes, etc. And if you want just a basic boxy-cut wicking t, then I recommend going to the men's dept. in Target and get the ones by Champion. They offer a non-form-fitting cut. But it is frustrating...I have some Nike that is form fitting and other that is not. Some are mediums and some are smalls (and even a couple of x-small)...so you definitely have to try different things.

Kat--glad the interview went well. And don't worry about the timing. It might be a couple of weeks before you hear anything. Remember that it is vacation time, etc., so decisions always take longer to make at this time of year.

I did the 8.5! I am psyched. And what is even better is that I could have done 9 for sure (and maybe 9.5, but I don't know)...but I ran out of time. I was already way late, so I couldn't try to keep going. Feels great. According to my HRM I burned 1300 calories, but who knows how accurate those are.

Hey there everyone I am home from the cape! I ate my way through it!:scared1: I did get my fill of the smell of the ocean the taste of it in my mouth. I will post later when I have a minute!

I am tired and my throat hurts. Sad me. Let us hope the gods of weight loss are good to me today because the thought of all that work - tracking, exercise, and nothing makes me want to stamp my feet.

Ah, tea is ready. Going to have tea.
Liz I had the same thing going on this week the whole sore throat and post nasal drip YUCK!

Um, 7:17? No. Up at 6:30 while at Disney. Always. :cool1:
You are a cruel person! But I am sure you see rope drop!

GREAT JOB LIZ:worship:

I am SO SICK OF FIGHTING. Seriously. They are fighting over everything.

-Who will give Marvin his pill.
-Who will lock him up for the day.
-Who will stand infront of what sink to brush the teeth.
-If you holler "black slug bug no tag back" and it's a slug bug convertable, then it doesn't count couse you didn't yell, "black slug bug convertable no tag back."

Arrrrrrrgh I am in hell. 35 days. 35 days. 35 days. (I am jonesing for a Hersey bar. Maybe 2, cause the first one wouldn't really be tasted as much as inhaled for a quick fix.)

They are being put in time out and losing privledges left and right. I am on a mission to correct this misbehavior or die trying.
Try having three locked in a car for 6 HOURS!!!!! :scared1:  :rolleyes1 and I didn't have my car with the dvd player WE had my mothers small car with six seats and six people not FUN!!! Hey 6 hours 6 seats 6 people WEIRD!

Ok I think those PIGS are HUGE!!!!

What color for the pedi? I chose OPI's 20 Candles on My Cake. Love it. Also got the brows done (cause I read the blog and I don't want to be one of those women...:rotfl2: )..
I like that color! have you tried the Kennebunk- port YET??? Just wondering:lmao:
Geez, where is everyone today?

Tons going on today...here it is 11am and we have already been to swim practice, tennis lessons, and dance. (Not, not all 4 kids had all 3 activities...I am not that much of an over-scheduling mom!)

I am getting ready for the cleaning crew and then will hit the gym while they overhaul my house. Then off to take the kids to a b'day party. Phew. What happened to yesterday? Can we roll back the clock?
Ok I saw somewhere that your kids take sailing lessons what type of boat do they sail??? I used to own a turnabout. Today I saw them all sailing in the harbor as we drove home It made me really homesick, because there is nothing like that here..:sad1: :sad2:

Hope everyone is having (or at this point..HAD!) a great day. I had to work - about 1000* in that kitchen today. Came home, jumped in the pool...and now I'm awaiting DH to call....he is out baling hay, and I may need to go unload. Typically I embrace the thought of another opportunity to exercise :rolleyes1 but today it's so hot here and the humidity has crept up...and I'm feelin' like a big ole puddle!

I had that humidity up on boston last night YUCk! then it just got worse after our thunderstorms!! The lightning was great! It was BLUE! Unfortunately the rain that came with it wasn't great I had to run out a restaurant at 930 carrying a 47# 5 year old who was a sleep while wearing a white shirt! I stepped off the curbing and the water was over my ankles that is how fast the rain came!

I guess they had some powerful storms here yesterday afternoon. My street was closed till about 10 last night. My neighbors house it beyond repair about 3 100 year old trees crashed on it! The poor calfs in their hutches got dragged from the wind. The horses were running wild! This 15 min storm caused more damage than the ice storm of 98.
Here is a link to the paper!
storm rips through Chazy
The second picture is my street about 1/8 of a mile from my house. My house got NOTHING!! Trees all look good!!!

So our trip was good to the cape! We got there and found a hotel room, (yes we didn't have one before we left, yes I know crazy, cape + summer = NO rooms) but we found one well two! We had a dip in the pool and my fishes swam and swam. Then off to my aunts house for dinner which she had everything that was not healthy! hot dogs sausage hamburgers. she did make an awesome potato salad with no mayo and lots of herbs which was really good, plus she had a cake and strawberry rhubarb pie. The next morning we went back to her house for breakfast again not the healthiest scrambled eggs bacon, and POPOVERS which of course have to be dosed in BUTTER! i had two and a half! Then we walked downtown falmouth which is hard to do with two little boys who don't want to do it and they cry and whine all through each store! So that ended fast, we left for the beach! But before we left stephen found a pair of shorts that he liked I went in to the store to get them thinking maybe about $40 -50 :scared: NO $165.00 oh but wait they were half off! I still wasn't buying a pair of shorts for my husband at $82.50 he isn't worth it!! NOT FOR SHORTS. The beach was great felt like I was home! French people plopped beside us. Then went for seafood! Fish and chips and snacked off of DH's platter! Then got back to hotel and NO POWER! FOR FOUR and a half hours and it was HOT and sticky! Friday went for breakfast at a little dinner mmm good! french toast and coffee. WHIPPED BUTTER! Then we checked out and left the cape after hitting the Christmas tree shoppe! Then we hit the outlets which I was really good and didn't by a THING! I managed to talk my husband into staying another night so I could see my brothers and nephew! The first hotel that we tried no luck! and this wasn't even down the cape. Of course the second hotel was more $$$ but that is where we stayed! Went for dinner with the whole fam damily! Mother step mother brothers kids husband! even invited dad but he was in maine working To bad!! left this afternoon and got home to see all the damage! At least I had power here!

ACK!!! DH IS DRIVING IN WITH A HUGE LOAD OF HAY. CRAP. (pray for me people...this could get ugly...)
Oh I used to love Haying! I'll come help!!! Great exercise!

Good Morning Ladies and Dan!
I beat Erika on today!!!
Well, I didn't do to bad got on scale this morning and I only gained a pound. Not Bad, for a week of eating not the best food! If any of you go to the cape try Seafood Sam's, they are all over the cape and mmm they are good. I didn't track all week but for the most part I ate my points in mostly one sitting. I am off to have one more bad day before I get myself back on track tomorrow. We have a birthday party today and there is always a ton of food I will try my best to do my best.

E~ good luck with the CREW coming today!!! Hope it isn't to insane!

OMG...no posts all day! WTH???

So I am up waiting for my brother and his family. They will get here around midnight or so. Normally, Sunday is my night to catch up on sleep (I usually go to bed around 9 on Sunday so I can re-charge for the week, but *sigh* not tonight). It is actually ok, as I need to get caught up and this will allow me to do that.

So, how was everyone's week-end?

Good morning, good morning. Good morning, good morning. Good morning, good morning to you! (a little ditty I sing to my girls)

No time to post. I'm heading to another town this morning, but will check back in as soon as I get back.

Steph - loved reading about your trip. Haven't looked at the pics yet. Glad you got to smell the ocean.

Kat - glad the interview went well.

Later all.

I'm back!

Very tired - will post pictures later. I have to go order Emily's birthday cake now and go to the gym!

Kat - glad interview went well! Fingers crossed

Steph - welcome back! Sounds like a great time.

Wow, Liz and Lyz are both up and posting bright and early this morning! And it is even MONDAY! :goodvibes

Steph--trip sounds like it was good! But (and you know I have to say this)--Are you CRAZY??? You went down the Cape in the middle of July without any reservations? :faint:

And don't sweat the eating. You were on vacation. Just get back on track today and you will be in great shape. Take a page from Kat's book. She always eats when on vacation and look how successful she has been?

LIZ--glad you are back! Waiting for the pics (but of course, you just HAD to go to the gym first....SO dark! :lmao: )

The crew is here...I have to get breakfast for 15...:scared:

I know........ :faint: no reservations but we always had the back up plan to stay at my aunts house and my cousins live there too so we could have split up and slept at different houses. I was just having a huge panic attack at the beach because OH MY GOD had you read about the great white shark swimming around Martha's Vineyard ?? And from where we were sitting on the beach you could see Martha's Vineyard! But I did swim! Just kept a wary eye out for the FIN!:rotfl2: I will post some pics of us at the beach!
As for the food I didn't do to bad only about a pound or two.

The crew is here...I have to get breakfast for 15...:scared:
 OMFG! That is a lot of people! Do you have all 15 people staying there??? Poor you, you'll need a vacation after this!!

Hi Everyone...

Sorry for the lack of posts.... I didn't fall off the face of the earth or off of the healthy lifestyle wagon (although I did eat more mini muffins than I should have on Saturday, but that is another story....). I just needed a break from the world is all.

I spent Friday night with my sister and my mom for a girl's night out. We went to see Mamma Mia (very funny, but poor Pierce Brosnan.... the man may be very nice to look at, but he can't sing.... I give him credit for trying though...) Saturday was spent facilitating a strategic planning session for the Odyssey of the Mind Association. I forgot to pack my JC breakfast bar so it was the mini muffins or passing out from lack of food.... not my best move, but I survived.... Yesterday was spent doing a whole lot of nothing.... church and then some shopping (bought a new tent for next weekend's camping trip) and then home where I channeled Erika's day with no kids and did a whole lot of nothing. Watched some TV and some movies... read a few magazines, but that was it. Stayed on track food wise so that was good.

Work has kept me busy today and brought me back to reality. My JC appointment is tonight. Not sure what this week will bring (TOM was here). The food cravings weren't too bad, but I indulged in some popcorn on Friday, plus the muffins, so I am thinking either a samer or a 1/2 pound sway either way. I am pulling out the Biggest Loser tape tonight to wake up my system so that should be good...

Talk to you all later,
Paula

Okay, I am like some seriously old person! Why does one weekend away knock me out like this? I need naps! Naps, I tell you!

So, today I went to order Emily's cake - her birthday is Sunday. I got the smaller one for 20-25 people, assuming most moms don't eat cake, and there are like 12 kids. But I also got 12 cupcakes to match, in case some moms do eat cake. The party is a bowling party and we invited our parents, our best friends, or should I say mine - Jackie and Greenie. Jackie comes with her husband and two kids - my niece and nephew, 10 and 15, and Greenie with her husband who's not green. So there are some adults to balance out the children.

Then I went to a weight lifting class. It wasn't super hard at the time, but I feel like maybe it kicked my a$$, because all I wanted to do today was lie down. No dice. How do I get one of those lives where I lie down? Really?
:rotfl:

Steph, nicce pics!

Erika, how are you surviving the invasion?

Paula, how did JC go?

Lyz - are you back? Where did you have to go? When is the fair? Are the pigs more than me now?

I am here...battle weary...but here.

The invasion is actually going great. I love this family to pieces. They are the epitome of how a family should be. Fun-loving, polite, generous, love to have a great time, but they also help out a ton and are so respectful of each other, etc. The kids range in age from 9 - 20 and each one is just incredible. I tell my SIL that she ought to do a reality show so that people can see how to raise great kids (but of course, they don't have a tv).

But, even though they want to do all of the cooking and cleaning, etc. it is still hard when it is your house ("Where do you keep the extra glasses?" etc. all day long.) Still, my kids are always out of their minds happy when the cousins descend upon us. And it truly was a great day. We had a huge 6 on 6 soccer game in the back yard that had us all in hysterics. It was a riot. And that is what this family is all about...good, wholesome fun.

The wrench in the works is that my dad had emergency surgery this morning. The short version is that the surgery was not serious and he will be fine. But he is in the hospital for 2 days, so we all took turns going to hang out with him and I know he is crushed that he is missing out on all of the festivities. He is the patriarch, after all.

Things with Jessica have gotten a bit bumpy, but we'll deal with it.

The good news is that I played tennis tonight and I may have had my best match ever. I am so happy with how I played and that has not happened in a LONG time. First time this season that I really felt good about my game.

Ok, that catches me up...now to respond to all of you...
