Disclaimer: It's a LONG one.
Liz - 2 hours at the gym. Getting dark in here. Are you drunk now? It's like 1 am.
EriKa- I agree with the others. Your a brick - house. Mighty Mighty. (and I'm throwing something at you.)
Dawn - glad to see you posting more. It's good for the team. Break.
Steph - shopping in the Misses section.
(I got a tattoo the day after my 18th birthday. A butterfly. Call me Mariah Carey. Anyhoo, I hid it from my mom under a bandaid for like 2 months. I had it lasered of about 9 months later. I'm sooooooo glad now it's gone. Sad thing is, I don't have any pictures of it. But my skin is a little lighter in the shape of a butterfly. Ironically, I was preggers with Molli in this time and she was, and is still in love with butterflys. Coincidence. I don't think so.)
Paula - it's about freaking time. (AIM) Your dinner sounded yummy.
Kat - glad your job hunt is looking golden. (Not surprised, tho.)
Nancy - Yes. Good thoughts on pain and exercise.
Stacey - glad you are getting back in the ball game.
Munky - how was Disneyland?
So the hogs are way underweight. 150 lbs each. The look so humongous. We are having a real hard time with it.
Here is the plan to have them gain 70 (70!!!!) pounds in 3 weeks. First, purchase a grower feed. Take their trough away (which they had food in nonstop). Once they panic and realize the don't have access to food 24/7, we reintroduce it. (Did that today.) We have to start feeding them, like 4 times a day minimum. Since they are shocked at the way we are feeding them, they will eat everylast drop each time. But we have to intensive feed in the middle of the night, as it's much cooler then and they will eat more. We are making their feed more enticing with powdered milk and raw eggs. YUM. Not at the same time.
The odds of them gaining this weight are slim. Very slim. And the grower feed is EXPENSIVE. So, talking with the farmer today, he said try it for a week. If they gain 20 lbs, the we have chance. If not, stop. (Even if the hog doesn't make weight, Molli will still take it, but she'll won't be able to sell at auction. She'll just have to take market rate. Last year she got $800 for her hog.)
While that is the bad news. I got the best news today. News that actually had me grinning like a, well, I don't know, but I jumped up and down. We were offered a camping spot at the fair. (I know. I know. I don't camp either.) BUT. This means so much. For starters, our county fair is very popular locally. It is the place to be for the week. Everyone camps there, and spots are renewed yearly. And sold out. I have been on the waiting list for 3 years. And last year was just miserable. We'd have to be to the fairgrounds very early to take care of Wilbur. And stay all day. It was so hot, hogs were actually in distress. You had to water them down and check in on them constantly. They even canceled showmanship due to the heat. So...while we had to hang out, we didn't have anywhere to go to relax. Just sit in a lawn chair, in the hog barn. And drive home late at night and do it again the next day. So, I am stoked. We don't have a camper, but will rent one for the week. Wooo-hoooo.
And finally. I walked on the treadmill for 60 minutes tonight. I have exercised for 5 days straight. I am so pleased with myself. Super pleased.
Ok. Off to bed. Have to feed real early.
