In search of my body...not the one I ate! Part Deux... We sit at the popular table!

Good Morning ladies and grumps...

I walked three miles last night thanks to Leslie Sansone.... I love the fact that I can do the tapes on my schedule since I didn't even start exercising unitl 10:00PM... Of course, does hauling trash bag of crap after trashbag of crap down the stairs and out to the curb count as exercise? If so than I started that on Saturday and continued through Sunday night....

Anyways, plans for today are work (gotta pay the bills right), JC appointment, grocery store (time to stock up on fruits and veggies... I had a lone zuchinni, some lettuce, a handfull of blueberries and a plum left to get me through today... After that, there is a whole lotta nothing left in the fridge.... I am planning on getting in another three mile walk tonight as well.

How about you all? What is on your respective plates today?

Paula

Liz, yes, I can't see either. Weekend workouts + hangove = dark side. E will have you working out at SSR after all, just you wait.

Well, it IS the best gym on property...:rolleyes1

And we may end up there as we are now waitlisted for both BWV and BCV.

Okay, so here's the truth. I didn't want to run today. I got on the treadmill about a half hour ago, and started up my thing. (Watching Bridget Jones because I love that movie.) I walk for 5 mins, then try to jog for 2, then walk, then jog for 2, etc. My goal is 5 times of 2 mins, because I just hit that 2 min at a time mark on Wednesday.

So the first 3 times are okay. Then the 4th time I just am not making it. I push through, finish the 2 mins and decide I am going to have to come upstairs and get on the board and tell you all I didn't make it the 5th time. I just couldn't. The hangover, or being tired, or what ever. And I SWEAR my treadmill at home is faster than the one at the gym, and its sure not as nice. So I keep walking, sad that I have to tell you guys I didn't do it. And then, I think, f-this. I am going to jog for 2 mins! I can do it! It's only 2 more mins! Only one more time!

So, I did. It felt like you guys were in my head cheering for me. Total time - 20 mins walking, 10 mins jogging, 5 2min jogs. And this day 12, 5th traing day of walk-to-run training.

So let me get this straight. You didn't want to run, but made yourself run anyway. Then you didn't want to FINISH your run, had an internal thing in your head (swearing to boot), and then you sucked it up and finished. Did I get that right?

Then it is time to mark your calendar, girlfriend. You just became a runner.

SO proud of you for sticking with it!!!

Since Erika is on the boat, I'll say it... goddess crown for you for perservering... Way to go...

Paula

Thanks, Paula! I knew I could count on someone! :goodvibes

$1400 all told...not too shabby - Bought Treyner's Camp tickets right now and my Florida tickets for August for our Jubilee!

That is an AWESOME amount for a garage sale! Great news!

OMG, Steph! Such a great moment!

Okay, we went to Petco for litter today... and came home with a KITTEN! We are nuts.

Too cute, Kat! But yeah, you are nuts! :lmao:

LIZ! Great job. I read this earlier today and you inspired ME to push on! I thought if Liz can do it, I can do it.

WOO HOO! That is what it is all about!

I didn't walk on the tm yesterday. Too too busy and I couldn't get up at 6 am to do it. I just couldn't. Today I walked for 80 minutes. (40 minutes 2 times.).

80 minutes??? 80?? :worship: :worship: :worship: You are ON FIRE! Goddess of the WEEK!

It's a rainy Monday morning here..no bike ride for me today :sad2: looks like I'll be hitting the TM this morning....

Your rain will be here in a couple of hours.

Well - the kids are home, and laundry abounds. Last night the "F-bombs" starting flying fast & furious when DS15 dumped his laundry out for me. That dumb @ss wore BRAND NEW CLOTHES and got them completely covered in paint. :furious: I was SO ticked off at him. I can't even tell you how many times while he was packing I asked him "do you have crappy clothes that you won't care if they get paint on them"??? yes mom...."OK - but do you have clothes that I WON'T CARE if you get paint on them???" yes mom...:headache: Yeah. Apparently he HAD them - but did he WEAR THEM? This is the same kid who lost a $100 textbook this year and now has to pay for that. :sad2:

....

OMG, that is the exact type of things my kids would do and exactly what would make me furious! Sorry!

PAULA--great job with the cleaning AND the walking! Way to go!

GRUMPS--hope you are on the mend! Have a great time with your girls!

STACEY--glad you got your TM up and running....

JODI--paging Jodi, come in Jodi....

AS FOR ME....well, I am glad we are back home and on land. It was a tough day on the boat. The water was choppy--which is not really a big deal other than it is not as calm as we would like. So we ducked into a little cove and anchored for the day. It was nice. Then it was time to head back. We pulled out of the cove and came around the bend and WHAM! The wind had totally picked up and the water was really rocking and rolling. We had to batten down everything (even the dog!). Then we had to really work to get in. Took many waves over the bow (none of this was dangerous, by the way...just difficult). The wind was too strong for us to get back into our slip, so I had to dive in, swim to the dock and go up to the marina to get help. Took 4 guys to get her slipped.

Jeff drank all the way home while I drove. He was that stressed.

Today Jessica (my neice) gets here. I have a lot to do to get ready for her. And some of it I won't be able to do until after she arrives. Like, I don't know what size she is and I need to get her tennis whites for tomorrow. So as soon as she gets here (my folks are getting her), I am going to have to sizer her up and run to the store. All that type of stuff.

Ok, now I am off to the gym...I will likely do the arc trainer again today since I liked it so much the other day. (I ran both days from the dock.) Then weight train. I just have Riley for the next few hours, so he will come with me to the gym and then out to lunch just the two of us. It has been a long time.

Well it sounds dangerous! Glad your back.

Oh, my so many things to say!

Lyz, you're totally kicking a$$ and taking names. :cool1: You're going to be Erika soon. Get a flashlight, girl.

Kat - the kitten is adorable, have you settled on a name yet?

Paula - I love your stocking up on healthy things AND getting rid of too-big clothes. So cool.

Nancy -yes, the weather is yucky today. Makes me sad. Not that I was going to bike ride, but I could have used an hour at the town pool.

OH!!!! And you and Erika are pushers! Fitness pushers!!!! But it works, huh?

Erika - I think I have to actually run to be a runner, but I'm not a quitter. Yet. Let's just say I'm a fighter. (Now everyone sing the song in your head.)

Okay, so today I am dog-tired. That last happy little pill was last night, and now my body is in sleep mode to get ready for TOM. My resting heart rate is like 57. While driving. So that tells you how tired I am.

I dropped Em off at VBS and went to the gym. Step class. I felt like a big loser. It was a new routine and I'm just not as good as the rest of them. And, I was tired so I wasn't all perky. I have no perk today. But I did get my heart rate in my aerobic zone, so that's good. And I left and felt tired again. So I am torn - does it count? Even if I sucked? :lmao:

I hope VBS tires this kid out so i have an easier day!

Lyz, you're totally kicking a$$ and taking names. :cool1: You're going to be Erika soon. Get a flashlight, girl.

I wish!

I was tired so I wasn't all perky. I have no perk today.

That sucks! Hope you get your perk on later. I'm guessing it counted. I'll defer exercise questions to the local gurus: Kat, EriKa and Nancy.

In this weight loss journey, anyone notice frequent headaches? Cause, I seem to be living in a headache. And food, lots of food would take the edge off. Is this normal?

Liz, yes, it counts. Probably double in my book since you went and finished the class even though you didn't want to.

Lyz, yes. The first two weeks are the worst. I was ready to chew through the walls. After that your body will adjust and you will feel lots better. Have you given up caffeine too? That will definitely give you headaches. I wouldn't try giving up caffeine until you get more adjusted to the lower food intake... granted, I didn't give it up at all, but coffee is my life-blood in the morning.

We haven't decided on a name yet.

I am very, very unmotivated in all fronts of my life. I wasn't terrible all weekend food-wise but I wasn't great either. This stupid cold is still hanging on. My 25 ant bites have kept me from a good nights sleep two nights running now (even w/ a claritin at mid-day, 1 benadryl oral tablet before bed, and rubbing down repeatedly with benadryl cream)... I was ready to amputate my left leg at mid-calf by about 4AM. I scrubbed them down with bleach after my shower this morning and then slathered down again with benadryl cream and so far they have quieted to a dull roar.

Oh, and my leftover enchilada mix spilled all over my lunch bag, car, and clothes to wear to hockey. And it is gloomy and nasty out. And I don't want to be at work. And I haven't heard from the Friday people yet.

I don't want to play anymore... (and YES, I *would* like some cheese with that whine...)

Lyz..I am sending you extra batteries so that you have no excuses for not seeing in the dark. :lmao:

Kat--ugh! Those bites sounds terrible! Are you sure it is ant bites and not chiggers??? Sounds more like chiggers to me. You can whine all you want. Sorry things are not so fun today.

Liz--hope VBS does the trick. My kids just came home more wired then when I sent them last week. Oh well. At least I had the mornings off. And yes, today's exercise absolutely counts!

I did the arc today for 60 minutes--intervals on level 9 (90). I definitely felt it after 45 or so minutes, so that is good. But I still could have done another hour, I swear, so I don't know. :confused3 I am meeting with my running coach later this week and will ask him what he thinks.

More later.

Kat--ugh! Those bites sounds terrible! Are you sure it is ant bites and not chiggers??? Sounds more like chiggers to me. You can whine all you want. Sorry things are not so fun today.

Oh yes, I couldn't be more sure. I looked down and was covered in them, as I was standing on the ant hill I had just mowed the top off of and hadn't noticed. I both felt and saw them bite me (as I was running toward the hose to hose them all off). The bite first pinches and then burns.

I am not sure if y'all have those up north, I sure don't remember ever seeing or having one bite me until I moved down here. They are very small black ants, and build big wide ant hills in your yard. And they BITE. I think they are some form of fire ant... they are very aggressive.

I have been bitten before and experienced the 3-5 days of hades that comes along with it, so not only did I have the fun of the moment, I knew it was going to suck for days.

And all this talk has made me feel like small bugs are crawling all over me...

Thank you for saying that - I am in craving mode bad -

How bout Dis? :)

That is the worst - I have found that staright cooking vanila is the best remedy for preventing bites from Mosquitos - not sure about nazi ants...
Oh, and my leftover enchilada mix spilled all over my lunch bag, car, and clothes to wear to hockey. well duh....I might know someone who could get you some Tupperware that would not leak out...:cool2: :rolleyes1 And it is gloomy and nasty out. You are entitled to a few crackers with the cheese!

Kat- To quote Office Space it sounds like some has a case of the mondays... LOL! I hope your day gets better:)

Sorry I haven't posted but between Disneyland and work being a zoo I've been coming home and sleeping...

Our trip was sooo great... We had a ton of fun and I already lost all the weight I gained!

I hope everyone is having a good day!!

OH!!!! And you and Erika are pushers! Fitness pushers!!!! But it works, huh?

ABSOLUTELY it counts!!! I'd have extra points for laughing at myself!!

I don't want to play anymore... (and YES, I *would* like some cheese with that whine...)

As long as it's low-fat, you can have as much cheese as you want!! ;)

Are you sure it is ant bites and not chiggers??? Sounds more like chiggers to me.

Chiggers. That's such an odd word. Very fun to say.. (again, easily amused...:rolleyes1 )

OK - had a crazy morning, never got to the TM - but, I'm being guilted into it now by the voices in my head... Just droped DD off at her voice lesson, so I have about 40 minutes here...gotta run!!! :yay:

Oh - and my picture - who asked that, was it you Lyz??? Well - I'm sadly challenged in the tech dept - I'll try to post one tonight...

Sarah - You look totally awesome! Way to go, girl! :cool1:

Nancy - yes, get your pic up for us!

Erika - VBS totally kicked Em's a$$. She was an angel at Friendly's for lunch, even with four little friends there.

Thanks you guys, all of you, for propping me up. I needed that.

Just ate a sugar cookie from the world's best diner and bakery that has been sitting in my fridge mocking me. It made me sick to my stomach. Good Gawd, what have I become??? :lmao: THIS makes me sick? And THIS is what I turn to now, during TOM days? I mean, I'm like some sort of health-conscious person or something! When did that happen? Was I drinking and don't remember it?

Oh! And at Friendly's today I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich, no sauce, and mixed veggies instead of fries. Yes, the dark side indeed. I turned down the patty melt. Patty melts used to be a reason for living. And no ice cream. Does anyone remember the old me?

I have two events this weekend, so I will be posting my dresses to be worn. Because since when do I make a clothing move without consultation?

Also, tomorrow I am going to run. And then maybe, maybe take the Active class at the gym - that's the 20 mins step, then weights, then abs, then balance work. That is my ambitious plan. If not, I'll just do my run/walk. And if you have any music for me, please clue me in. Any motivation is welcome. I heard "I Run for Life" in the grocery store today and I was like, okay FiNE, I guess I'll run this 5k after all! :rotfl:

Kat - I say some explosives are in order. For the ant hills. Just send your hubby to take care of it.

Liz - where are you? Some health conscious glal, that looks like you, is posting about not ordering a patty melt at Friendlys. (Friendlys, we miss Friendlys. Ours was closed when Bob and I were children, but we both have good memories. So when we see one...he always gets a Jim Dandy.)

Sarah - Happy Birthday! Your pics are great! And whoo hoo to shopping in the misses dept. That is the best, no?

Nancy - have your kids help. They probably already know how to post a pic. Voice lessions - neat. Does she sound good?

EriKa - Jessica make it in ok?

Dawn - I'm feeling miserable too. Headachy a good majority of the time.

I am a magazine reader. BIG TIME. In this months Self - they had alot of time saving ideas submitted from readers. This idea is for a make ahead mini breakfast frittatas. You make them, like on a Sunday and then you have a quick breakfast for the week. I just made them and they were super simple and really quite yummy.

Beat 5 eggs. Add 2 diced tomatos (I only did one), 1/2 diced onion (I only did maybe 2 slices diced) 1/2 cup of feta (I had colby/jack in the fridge) and 4 slices of cooked and chopped turkey bacon. (I used 5 slices of Oscar Meyer bacon.) Plus salt and pepper to taste. Then divide amongst 12 muffin cups coated with cooking spray and bake for 11 minutes at 375 or until golden. (13 minutes). Store in the fridge, individually in bags. Heat in the microwave.

Here is the calorie and weight watchers breakdown of what "I" made the recipe with:

5 eggs: 350 calories, 10 ww points
5 bacon: 175 calories, 5 ww points
1/2C cheese: 200 calories, 6 ww points
totals: 725 calories, 21 ww points
/12: 60.4 calories, 1.75 ww points

I didn't do the tomato or onion, so you'd have to allow for that. Say 2 ww points total.

Hi Gang....

Taking a bit of a break between dinner and putting the closet back together... (Dinner was sweet and sour chicken with pineapple and rice (a JC entree) that I served over fresh steamed broccoli... yummmm)

Had my JC weigh in and I only have 14 pounds more to go towards my mini goal because I lost a pound.... I am excited because it is a loss for the second week in a row and and at a healthy rate... I talked to my consultant about how this was a good week for me. I felt in control of my weight loss efforts again and had a solid plan for moving forward. We talked about my exercise plan agreed to use a goal of working out at least three times a week to build some consistancy and then add from there.

I stocked up on fruits and veggies for the week... I didn't realize that I was up to eating over 24 servings of fruit a week... that is a lot for one person when you look at it, but it is 3 - 4 servings per day depending on my menu and that is what I am supposed to be eating. Thankfully, there are so many yummy options out there to choose from...

OK - now I am off to put all the stuff I emptied out of my closet over the weekend back in. (wish me luck...). I am going to walk later on tonight so I'll check in after my walk.

Have a great night everyone...
Paula

Liz and Lyz! WTH???? You two are out of freaking control! Love it! I mean, Lyz is posting healthy recipes!

Yes, Jessica got in and all is well. The cousins are ecstatic with each other. So that is good. We'll see how long the honeymoon period lasts, though.

I spent my day getting her all set up...registered for swimming lessons and got her a set of tennis whites. I talked to my, um, friend the tennis pro and he said just to bring her with my kids (no charge). She mentioned that she would like to try soccer, so got that squared away as well. Thank God she isn't interested in sailing. My kids' regatta is in two weeks and even I couldn't pull that one off...lessons have been closed out for weeks. So now she won't feel left out because it is her choice.

Ok, off to update my minutes for the July exercise challenge. Oh yeah...you guys are all totally doing it for August.

E - your a superstar. She's going to have a good time with your family.

I grazed too much tonight. Eating while making dinner. Arrgh.

Erika and Nancy I say you are goddess for biking the miles that you do I did 2 miles today and my legs feel like jelly!!
:worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: to both of you!!!!!

OMG, the niece! I love how you got her all set up!

I'll tell you something. I have never in my life met an only who doesn't thrive in organization. (We onlies stick together - I have had about 10-15 only children friends, at least, and right now, off the top of my head, I have 5 friends I would call good, dear friends who are onlies.) I think there is security in order for all kids, and being part of a family group is so wonderful. I have always loved the people who made me feel like part of their life.

I survived dinner with the inlaws. I introduced my MIL to HGTV. House Hunters!
