In search of my body...not the one I ate! Part Deux... We sit at the popular table!

Hi all....

Exciting day around here so far...

I have to admit, my one mile walks seem so small in comparison to the 22 mile bike rides and the dualthons, but that is fine with me. Your stories give me goals to reach for and at the end of the day, some movement is better than none right... I am doing what works for me and in time, I'll catch up. I am persistent that way... ha....

I was cleaning my desk last week and came across a picture that was taken at the company christmas party two years ago. OMG was I huge in that picture. My face was just this big round, bloated mass.... Not pretty at all. I look in the mirror now and it is hard to believe that my face looked that way at one point. I am now using the picture as incentive to never return to that weight. It was just too scary to see... (of course, I'll try to scan it and post it with a current pic so you all can see the difference...)

Well, I'm off for my walk... catch you all on the flip side...

Paula, I don't do 22 mile duathalons (didn't even know that word existed, in fact) either. I do my elliptical or arc, and yeah the hockey but that is fun&games (like golf for you), not work.

Our floor admin commented today that I had to have lost a ton of weight, and she has only known me since December. Always nice to hear.

On the recommendation of the Peeps thread, I bought Fiber One bars today. They are apple streusel and I am pretty excited about them.

Hey Steph, I'll trade you my mopey sick 37 yr old child for your prankster, mm-kay?

hhhhmmmm..... NAW I just yelled at him! he still is sticking to the story that he didn't see them!! I don't think he looked or he found them and wanted me to sweat a little.

So - I'm back from my bike ride - 22.5 miles today...rode with my friend who is a MACHINE!

Umm, look around Nance....YOU are the machine! :worship: Totally earned a goddess crown!

Ok. I had to sleep last night. If the plan is to tm in the morning, my AIM time is probably gonna take a hit.

Ok, since it is for a work-out, I will let you off the AIM hook! :lmao:

Thank you.

And I will check out the thread. I am tracking everything I do. My weight each day (of which I am seeing results), everything I eat: including calories and points if they are easily known, and my exercise. So it shouldn't be hard at all to catch up there.

I started doing this on July 1. I am watching what I eat, but not hard core yet. Just trying to stay under my BMR level.

Sounds like an excellent plan! You rule.

Well, just remember that a measly 5 months ago (yes, really) I did not work out AT ALL. Nothing. Nada. Zip. Zilch. Zero. ANYTHING is possible. Start where you are comfortable and build from there.

And GREAT news about finding that picture and being able to see the difference! WOO HOO! Yes, we want "before" and "in awesome progress" pics.

Awesome comment! Love hearing that type of stuff! And I live for Fiber One bars. I eat enough of them that I consider them a food group! But go for the oat and CHOCOLATE ones! They totally taste like a treat! 140 cals. 1 WW point.

Hey all - just picked up the proofs of Treyner's Sr pics - love a lot of them - you can make in sepia or B&W on line so I am playing with how many I want..we may be on the 10 year payment plan...ugh....

If you care to see them - pm me and I will post the link to his site for you...

Ahemmm...

1st weigh in...and I lost....drumroll...2.4 pounds!!!

Which I am very happy about because I have been more active than usual...but not totally eating the best..but still better than I had been...so I will take it...I am totally pumped right now...and Jodi can attest...my life until a few days ago...not exactly conducive to eating well at home...long story for another day...

so...it is a start...off to move my ticker!

That's right Liz! Good question.

Ok, I haven't had a chance to look at all 50 (50!!!) pages of pictures Stacey -but I had to say I am loving your taste. The blue is beautiful. And the bridesmades dresses with the little bow, perfect. But the best part was the back part of your dress, with the blue piping(?), ohhh, that was classy. And how many of those gals getting ready with you are your sisters?

I know, isn't the number of pictures insane! Thanks so much!!!

I only have 1 sister, she was my maid of honor (the one in the strapless dress). The blonde one was my cousin, the other two a best friend since 5th grade, and bruce's cousin.

I swear i emailed everyone who asked me for it! Check your spam folders!!!!

Congrats Dawn! Good for you!

TOTALLY OFF-TOPIC POST

Ok, so I just found out today that I am going to have a 4th kid. Really. No kidding.

Fortunately, though, I am NOT pregnant! (Had you there, didn't I????) :lmao:

In all seriousness, my 10 year old niece is coming to stay with us...indefinitely. My sister (older than me by 10 years) is getting a divorce (and this is a good thing b/c her husband is a major dirtbag whom we have always loathed). And my sister is battling extreme depression right now and cannot take care of her kid. So the dirtbag has had sole custody of my niece. This kid is great...she is smart and sweet and quiet and good-natured. She needs to be rescued. She cannot live with this guy (in a trailer in central Florida). The dirtbag's mom has been watching her (who has a 6th grade education--if that--is 400 pounds, is on disability because she can't get around, etc.). All of this means that my little niece has been inside, watching tv, no friends, no activities, no playing outside, etc.

Enter my mom and dad. Not only the best grandparents ever, but fierce when they think that a child's best interests are not being met. They are flying down on Monday and getting her and bringing her back here. The dirtbag said she could come up here for a 2-week vacation with our family, but my sister wants her to stay up here until she can get her act together and move up here as well. (My sister is very bright and will eventually be ok...Master's Degree and named Teacher of the Year at the junior high where she teaches, etc. She just battles with depression and anxiety.)

So, since I already have all of these kids and am plugged into the kid scene in town, I will just have one more to tote around. It really shouldn't change my life all that much. And since she is an only child, she will likely spend half of her time staying with my parents. I think being thrown into my chaos may be a bit much for her at times and she will just need to be alone and in a quiet place.

This is unusual for my family. We don't do drama like this. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

E - you are the best person on the planet. Thank God this kid is coming into your sphere. Yes, as an only, you do need a break from the noise. But also, it will be wonderful for her to have your kids - cousins are so important for us only kids! Wow, what an adventure for all of you.

What are you guys doing for your sister? i know you, is there a ton of research going on???

Ok, so i have read a ton of the posts since i've been MIA, but i think if i were to try to quote on them all, my head would explode.

To everyone who has recently been posting those mind blowing workouts - GOOD FOR YOU! :thumbsup2 I need to jump back on the excercise bandwagon- i haven't worked out since before the wedding :scared1:

To all the "losers" congrats on those pounds lost! I'm up a little from my lowest (the wedding day, i hadn't eaten in a week) but i'm still down a total of 11.5 from my starting weight. So considering i've been eating like crap and not excercising, not too bad!

Now we are all moved and *mostly* settled into the new townhouse. I'm still struggling to remember that my name has changed, still call him my "fiance" accidentally. Oh well, what is one to do!

I'm so glad to be back and reading again, i'm getting motivated, when Bruce gets home from work tomorrow morning, he will have a note waiting asking him to get my treadmill set up and ready to go :)

ERIKA! I about pooped my pants!!!!!

Sounds like she have a great time and I can think of no better atmosphere than your home.

Kat - yeah, lets see if dualathon is in the dictionary.

Dawn - YAY for the loss. Great job. Think of the progress when you are being condusive!!!

Nancy - 22 miles!!! E - 19 miles!!! I am in the wrong place.

ok gotta go weigh some hoggers. I'll post later.

Hi Everyone...

Dawn - awesome job on the loss.... I am so proud of you... How did Carsyn do?

Erika - you are an amazing person with an amazing family. I'm sure your niece will grow accustomed to your lifestyle in time. Keep us posted and let us know if there is anything we can do.

Well, I made it through my exercise class with no major problems and boy did I sweat my butt off. I may not be able to walk tomorrow since the class was almost entirely based on squats. They broke the moves down to level 1 - 3 with 1 being the easiest. I am going to stick to level 1 for now and let my body tell when to do more. Thankfully, this class is only once a week because I am not sure if I could do more than that. I still need to find a second class to take though. I am considering a chisel class which is more weight work, but I want to check out the boot camp class too and then decide which is better for me.

I am off to make my lunch and then heading to bed (early morning tomorrow). Have a great night everyone and I'll check in with you tomorrow.

Paula

Thanks for the perspective, Liz. I am totally worried about overwhelming her. It's like, every day is SOMETHING, you know? Beach, pool, tennis, dance class, soccer...whatever. My kids do a lot of stuff, and I want her to have an awesome time but I don't want to terrify her! We'll just take it one thing at a time like everything else in life.

As for my sister...that is a long and sad story. But basically, I am hands off that situation. I am taking care of the kid...my dad is taking care of HIS kid (my sister). Not sure how it will all work out in the end.

ERIKA! I about pooped my pants!!!!!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Sounds like she have a great time and I can think of no better atmosphere than your home.

Thanks. Let's hope so. This kid needs some TLC big time.

Kat - yeah, lets see if dualathon is in the dictionary.

Here ya go...from dictionary.com :lmao: :

Duathlon is an athletic event (not to be confused with biathlon) that consists of a running leg, followed by a cycling leg and then another running leg in a format bearing some resemblance to triathlons. The International Triathlon Union governs the sport internationally.

Nancy - 22 miles!!! E - 19 miles!!! I am in the wrong place.

No you aren't! You are a total goddess...now and forever.

ok gotta go weigh some hoggers. I'll post later.

Oh yay! It is hog-weighing day! I am so excited! This means there are gonna be some good stories! Bring on the funny! :lmao:

Please tell me the hogs weigh more than me. Please?

OMG, yes! Please....they just HAVE to be heavier than me this time...

Dawn - awesome job on the loss.... I am so proud of you... How did Carsyn do?

Yeah...tell us more about WW. How is Carsyn doing? Is she gonna stick with it? Do you like the leader? Details, please.

Erika - you are an amazing person with an amazing family. I'm sure your niece will grow accustomed to your lifestyle in time. Keep us posted and let us know if there is anything we can do.

Thanks, Paula!

WOO HOO! Way to go! Goddess crown for you! Sounds like it is a good class that really pushed you--that is a good thing! And now you are excited to try all of these other classes!!! Guess who is coming to the dark side! :lmao:

I am in online conference hell tonight. Oh well. It had to happen eventually. No AIM for me...I am just popping in here when I can...

So love to you all - need to give some important info on aim - please get on if you can even if it is just a moment!
