In search of my body...not the one I ate! Part Deux... We sit at the popular table!

I don't really have a set workout routine for days... I morph a few sometimes dependent on work/home schedule. This week, this is my plan:

Sun: 45 on arc + weight training
Mon: 20 on elliptical + 1.25 hours ice hockey
Tues: 45 on arc
Wed: 20-30 on elliptical + weight training
Thus: 2 hours ice hockey
Fri or Sat off, other day 45 on arc trainer

When I do weight training, this is what I do: seated row, back fly, chest fly, chest press, tricep machine, bicep machine, lat pulldown, leg ext, leg curl, leg press, hip adductor, hip abductor, ab twist machine -- 30 reps on each in a triangle pattern (15 doable, 10 hard, 5 really hard), tricep kickbacks (10 on each side), and 100 crunches on the ball (50 straight up, 25 on each side).

Kat, I'm taking notes. On the weight training, do you do all of these each time you work out? About how long does it take you? Did you do less when you just started or just increase the reps and weight?
I've met with a trainer a few times. He just confused me. He mostly showed me how to use each machine- we also had a language barrier. Way built, cute, and very thick accent.

I think we'll be ok weight wise. We were just feeding them in the morning, cause they seemed so massive. So we will go back to a full trough of feed 24/7. And add raw eggs and powdered milk for added flavor. Blech.

Oh, thank you! Had you never seen a picture of me before??? OMG, I feel like I have plastered my face all over this board! ;) I LOVE seeing pictures of my friends but I do feel funny posting them - like, look at me!

No, I think it was a good attempt, I am just so lame I don't get it! :rotfl2: Tivo ruins all good commercials for me! I am like the kid who wasn't allowed to stay up and watch the Wizard of Oz...did you guys have that, too? Like, they would show the Wizard of Oz on TV and the next day all the kids at school would talk about it and if you weren't allowed to stay up past the beginning you would feel like a loser and try to bluff that you saw the part with the flying monkeys?

Or maybe that was just me?

He said to buy a hog grower feed from your feed place and the corn meal 5 pounds of corn meal per feeding. he said that you can buy at a feed place too! My BIL had pigs last year mmm they taste good this year.:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I was the kid that wouldn't watch the monkey part of Oz. I skipped it and pretended they were not part of the movie. I still do that with movies- skip the creepy parts. Therapy needed?

My gym has a fun little circuit thing called an "express workout", in the front of it. You are supposed to do step-ups in between the weight machines but I skip that part. It has the following in a circle: chest press, lat pulldown, seated row, leg curl, leg extension, leg press, tricep machine, bicep machine, shoulder press. That takes about 15 min to do 30 reps on each, and I don't rest much between sets. Then I go do the ab twist machine (gets obliques and "core"), the tricep kickbacks (free weights) and sometimes bicep curls (free weights). Then to the chest fly and back fly (same machine, just different settings). Then hip adductor and abductor (next to each other), and then the crunches. All told, takes about 40 min? I stretch, then do 20-40 on the elliptical or arc trainer, depending on how I feel.

I started with pure cardio, 10-15 on the elliptical 2-3 times a week. I gradually upped the cardio both in duration and number of times a week, probably over 3-6 months until I could do at least 30 min 5 times a week. By then I had lost about 30-40 lbs, and added in the weights twice a week, and started replacing some of the machine cardio with hockey.

I always do 30 reps and just up the weight when things get too easy. 15 easy/medium reps, 10 hard reps, and 5 that I can barely do.

I also switch up what I do for each muscle group sometimes... like doing my chest press or fly with free weights, doing different tricep or bicep free weights, etc. Just to keep some variety and confuse my body into not becoming complacent.

FWIW, I had my body fat done w/ calipers and such before I started this weight loss/workout plan, and all but 3 lbs of the 52 that I have lost has been pure fat.
 
Liz - we weren't allowed to watch other shows. Like Scooby Doo, "to evil". So I know what you mean. Everyone has a love affair with SD, but, to me, yeah, I don't get it.

And, for the record - I am a dress size 10...only in dresses! 14 to 12 elsewhere, and I sort of ate my way through the last two days. No, not sort of. I DID eat my way! I need a major food detox...and I might not weigh in on Wed. Sorry, but i am a wimp. I do not want to see the gain officially, you know? But we shall see how I do the next two days. So far, so good. Only a fiber one bar - chocolate, of course - and plans for a veggie burger and salad for lunch. I might have to run here every time the junk calls me, so be prepared for ramblings!

10 is a 10! I posted about my size 4s even though they are totally vanity-sized!

Well once again I came on here and complained, I will do better next week when all this work is completed. We did take a picture of Lyle, myself and our kids standing in front of the house and one in front of the flower garden on father day since we were there working all day. I told Lyle we should send it to his family for Christmas cards, saying guess where we are. I know not nice, but damn it this has been really hard on us not just the money part, but emotional & time consuming. DH called me today and asked what a anxiety attack was like, cause he is feeling the stress of all this. I really worry about him, and he has not even hear from or seem his brother, which I am glad because right now I think there would be a lot of yelling and maybe some hitting!

Still wearing the 14s which are too big but I bought a (Vera Bradley) belt to hold them up. Discontinued pattern, so it was 25% off! But sooo cute. Capri blue.


I just ate a head of broccoli so I would be too full to eat chocolate. Anyone else laughing their head off about that? Because what a poor substitute!
 
Ok, I think I am officially on AIM. And thanks to the help of a group of very funny, helpful, annoying teenagers- and an hour of trying screennames, I am booksanddrpepper. A little strange, but it works for me. It is better than some of the others they tried-trust me. And I have only had 1 Dr. Pepper today-it is my addiction. Now I really must get some work done.

Hi everyone...

Sounds like you all are in a partying kind of mood tonight.... Makes me want to try and stay up and play with you all, but I am fading fast. I didn't get much sleep last night, so I am paying for it now.... Perhaps tomorrow night???

Well - I did make it to JC and lost a pound!!!!! I am so freaking excited since that was one hard earned pound lost thanks to all the stress I am dealing with.

I just got off the phone with a friend and talked the whole career crappy issue through and came up with a plan of attack that I think we can all live with so hopefully, I can finally wrestle this mess off my shoulders and focus on more important things like my diet and exercise plan.... I mean don't the people at my company know that there are more important things to worry about - like convincing myself that eating a bunch of broccoli is almost as good as gorging myself on chocolate.... :rotfl2:

My goal is to get my shoulders to relax by the end of the week so I can keep moving forward as our buddy Sarah always says...

Have fun tonight on AIM and I'll catch up with you all in the morning. This goofy gal is off to put the trash out and then to catch some sleep...
