In Search of my Body...Not The One I Ate.. #4 "Inspiring Others... 1 Tiara at a Time"

Ok, the challenge is up! If anyone needs me to make changes, just let me know!

LisaZ...if you want to be in the challenge, just say so! It is never too late around here!

Goals:
1) Exercise at least 4 times per week
2) Limited evening snacking -- 1/2 hour window only
3) Lose 5 pounds.

:rotfl2: :lmao: at Cake. We love Cake the BAND. We stay away from cake the food!

And I love tubthumping, too! It took a while for it to soak in. But now I am really happy with it! And mas tequila, por favor!

I met this little girly.
Her hair was kinda curly.
Went to her house to bust her out.
I had to be real early.

EriKa - take out the exercising 4 times per week, pretty please. I can't be pressured. Congrats on the jobber.

Amy - great job on the weighing less than the hubster. I so get the importance of that.

Zig - loved your whole clothes revelation. I watched that episode also.

Lisa - Hi Ya! (wispering, "get out of your head. just be.")

Umm, I'd buy the shoes FOR the pink. Just sayin'.

Hi girlies.

Hi girlies.

Hahaha. I know you would. But I am somewhat anti-pink. Although if I make it to Liz's 5K it will be very appropriate.

Congrats on the job E. And definitely, mas tequila.

Like the goals Liz.

Meeting went well. The client loved me and offered me a FT job. :rotfl2: No thanks...I would have to move to Iowa! :scared:

IOWA! :scared: I'd pass too. (No offense to our friends from Iowa - just that Erika belongs in Lobster Land, not Corn Country! :rotfl: )

Have fun on campus - it could be worse - you could be on the jumbotron again...

Just curious Erika - have you started packing a cardigan, you know, just in case? :confused3

Back to work for me. I'll check in later after my JC appointment.
Paula

Good luck tonight Paula!

I am ALL about Single Ladies right now.

Christina Aguilara. Candyman. My new fav. Well, that and Keeps Gettin' Better. (makes me think of you, Liz) :lmao:

Listened to that today while on the bike portion of my cardio circuit. LOVE that song.

I found a pair of jeans in my closet this weekend that I have never worn (and I wear jeans every day for my job so I have a lot of pairs in there). Bought them when they were on sale for ten bucks but they needed to be shortened. Tried them on and they are now too big... Oh well, off to good will for them. It stinks that I spent the money and didn't wear them, but I am so excited about getting rid of clothes that are too big that I don't care.
Paula that was awesome. I bet you felt like a queen having something new that did not fit. Tells you the mind tricks you into thinking you are still heavier. You are stunning!

Dawn - Glad Baylor is doing so well at hockey. It must mean a lot to him to be able to play this season.
Paula - it was great. I did not care if he scred or not, just that he was a participant. Truly my inspiration.
Paula

That dog is going to be GOOD for you. Keep walkin' him!::yes::

Will do. Love him to pieces as long as he doesn't chew my furniture to pieces!

Ok, the challenge is up! If anyone needs me to make changes, just let me know!
E - thanks for all your work! I know I will lose and having that pressure off for a number is great.
Meeting went well. The client loved me and offered me a FT job. :rotfl2: No thanks...I would have to move to Iowa! You would die in Iowa. I would die in Iowa just because I would miss the lakes. The ocean. That would be a non negotiable if I was you! Very proud of your continued success.

Isn't Cake FUN??? Dawn, Cake is a band. Not a food.
I had to RUN to the bathroom for that one. Can you tell what is on my mind? Wedding details and not bands! I suck.:rotfl2:

Dawn-So great that the new puppy will give you alot of extra walking time, but I would highly recommend getting some winter walking appropriate footwear. Clogs and wintery weather do not mix. :scared: Also, I HAVE to ask: Does your computer have a special key that types out "..." ? Sometimes instead of reading what you wrote, all I read is "dot dot dot" :lmao:

No, my computer does not auto dot! I will try and limit them now that I went back and saw how many of those I entered.

Too funny! I new I wrote with them but not how many. Like when someone points out how many times a person says umm or ahh in a sentence, you start to notice. Now I will be obsessed with omiting the ever loved "..." but what is even funnier than that, is I got you talking to yourself!:rotfl2:

Hi all, hope you are having a fantastic day!:grouphug:

I know, right? Like, where is the ocean in IOWA???

Nancy! I can't believe you remembered about the cardigan! :rotfl2: NO! I still don't have any back-up clothes in my office. But I do still have my gym bag (always stocked and ready for a workout) in the back of my car!

I am writing in my planner to pack extra clothes to leave here.

So, I all but broke my neck getting to the office on time today only to find that my afternoon meeting was canceled. Now I don't have anything on my agenda till 4pm when I teach. Of course I have LOADS of stuff I could be doing. But, eh. Just can't get into it.

LisaV--I am doing this tri because it has a "Novice" category and that really appealed to me. If you register in this category, as I did, then your results are not sanctioned by the UTAF, but you still get the finishers medal and t-shirt (which is all I care about anyway! It also means that they don't count my transition times, which is great! I have been really nervous about transitioning and how to do it quickly and correctly, etc. And now that is a non-issue. Since my time is going to be unofficial, then my transitions don't have to be counted at all. That has taken ALL of the stress away. I will still learn what my times are so that I can improve, etc.

This is in the super-sprint category which just means it is very short. 1/3 mile swim, 10 mile bike, 5k run. I routinely do a 10 mile bike and 5k run back-to-back as part of my regular workouts, so I know that is easy and doable for me. So I am just adding the swim...and 1/3 mile is pretty short (about 22 lengths in a regulation Olympic pool). I am guessing that I can do the whole tri in 100 minutes or less. And like Nancy said a while back, I am already conditioned to do well over 2 hours of cardio in one stretch, so this should be pretty easy for me right now without any prep. I will, however, get a few swims in before race day.

I am really just excited about it right now. I am sure I will get nervous at some point. But I definitely picked the right race for my first one. I feel little to no stress since I will be in that Novice category. And it will give me a great feel for whether or not I want to do more.

Oh...and who asked about the swim? It is INSIDE. Again, I have no idea how to transition from an inside swim to a bike, so I am truly grateful that my transitions won't count. This will just be a great learning experience. And of course, I get to have the title Triathlete. :thumbsup2

That should be enough details for you, eh Lisa? :lmao:

Great goals, Lisa. :flower3: Perfect for you.

One pound? You were up ONE pound? :confused3 Oh honey, you need to try harder. I was up THREE

:rotfl: My body can retain water like nobody's business!

My little haitus has ended. Today I'm back with my "A" game. Had an awesome cardio workout today. Eatin' right. Food plan in place. Groceries bought. Yep. Gonna earn me a smiley face sticker on my journal

Yeah on your day. :lmao: :rotfl: on your words to Lisa P/R. Too funny are you. And thanks on mine. Big decision. I'm simply wiped.

Ok, the challenge is up! If anyone needs me to make changes, just let me know!

LisaZ...if you want to be in the challenge, just say so! It is never too late around here!

Meeting went well. The client loved me and offered me a FT job. :rotfl2: No thanks...I would have to move to Iowa! :scared: But I will do the consulting gig and their money offer was fair. Not great, but certainly inline with what others offer, so I can't complain. One thing about my line of work is that often times it is exploding while others are losing their jobs. (The government has the re-education program for those who lose their jobs, so many down-sized people can go back to school to finish their degree or get a new degree, thus online universities have enrollment booms. Then those universities call me to design their programs, etc.)

Ok, time to get ready to go up to campus. Every Monday. Yuck. (Really, it isn't bad at all. I just like to complain about it.)

Congrats Erika. That's wonderful.

Lisa - Hi Ya! (wispering, "get out of your head. just be.")

Hi ya too. And you don't need to whisper - I love your thoughts. I will never be out of my head Lyz. And that's just me accepting me. I am so wiped. So incredibly wiped. But here. And working it. Just refuse to make it all aobut the end product. Now is pretty darn fabulous and I wasn't seeing that at all.

I know, right? Like, where is the ocean in IOWA???

So exciting Erika. So excited for you. Smiles all around. Thanks for letting me know all about it. Is it close to home? When? Yeah. What leg do you think will be your best? Personal time? I mean when I look at tri results there always seems to be one where people make up time. Your personal advantage. Bike for you? You have such strong legs.

You know WDW had the Race for a Cure, eh? :lmao: :rotfl: . Yeah you know. I keep reminding you.

Erika, that sounds exciting! Glad that they took the stress off.

So, they sent us a bunch of pictures of our game yesterday. Man, those pants are NOT flattering!! The guy took like 500 pictures, including one of me shooting in the shootout, so I picked out a few of them and uploaded them to my own album, here:
http://s295.photobucket.com/albums/mm130/katcanes77/hockey/

I am obviously #77, and a few of them are resized versions. Like this one!

great pics Kat and E - sounds like a good TRI to start with!

I went to the Y after getting Treyner's senior pics.

I walked/sped walked but really paid attention to my heart rate. Honestly from the onset, I was at 110 immediatley. I walked at the higghest at a 3.2 but mostly stayed at 2.6 for fats and 2.2 for slow and my HR stayed at 135-138 the whole time. I have often felt fast palpatations in my chest with short distances like a flight of stairs yet can walk around Disney and be fine. It's weird. Anyway, walked 1.34 miles and will continue to monitor my progress and warch how my heart rate can accept faster speeds.

TWIGHLIGHT FANS:

On Perez Hilton's update they talked about New Moon. Dakota Fanning is almost locked to play a role in the movie. Who would she play? Jane!!! The Italian Vamp!

Here is the link on the gossip!

Okay - there is the gossip update!

Post food totals in the morning but I had a great day!

Hi everyone,

Just got back from the gym for a quick cardio workout. Note to self: JC's mac and cheese and a salad is not enough fuel to go to the gym on. I developed a wicked headache about ten minutes in, pushed myself to the 25 minute mark and then gave up and did my cool down and came home. Not a great workout, but a workout none the less.

Nancy - this is for you since you reminded me.

Went to JC and here are the results:

weight lost - 3.5 pounds (OMG - I am still in shock about that)
measurements (won't post the specifics, but will post the number of inches lost from when I started in Sept. '07 until now:

bust: -1.5"
waist: -4"
abdomen: -6"
hips: -2.5"

Total inches lost: 14"

I was stunned at the abdomen change. That is my biggest problem area so I'll be looking for that to keep going down.

I am off to take something for my headache and then tackle my taxes. Hope everyone is having a good night.!

I'll check in later,
Paula

Nancy! I can't believe you remembered about the cardigan! :rotfl2:

I don't know what made me think of that today. :confused3 Cracked myself up though. :rotfl:

That sounds like the perfect race, Erika. You're gonna kick its @ss I'm sure.

Hi Everybody!

I really thought I posted this morning, hum. I just thought of something today and know this is the right place to ask. Does anybody get their kids ready physically for WDW? I was thinking that it might be a good idea to get my kids ready by walking together when the weather breaks.

Any opinions?

Oh, for any of those inquiring minds out there...spent some more time with my mechanic last night (watching TV, get your mind out of the gutter).lol

Off to catch up.

Paula!!!!!!

Outflippin'standing you. Fantastic Paula. You should so proud of yourself. Good for you and congrats.

Kat - thanks for the pics. Loved them.

Amiee - enjoyed reading your thoughts on men, the ex and the future. Do you have to converse with your ex friend? I guess there are times you do, eh? That must suck.

My friend just wrote and she's thrilled - she now owns their house outright. But I guess that's the high with lows to come. Feelings have to go somewhere. A myriad I'm sure.

You continue to amaze me.

Nancy - thanks for the kind words... Good luck with your session tomorrow morning. Mine is tomorrow night. Definitely need to eat better before I go.

PAULA!!! That is FANTASTIC!!! Go you! I am so proud!

Thanks!!! I am very psyched...

Sure you were just watching TV...;) just kidding. I can't chime in on prepping the kids, but it sounds like a good idea.

Parents?

Paula! PAULA! OMG! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: That is AMAZING!

Do I need to say it, really???

GODDESS CROWN, totally!

I am so proud of you. You have really been working hard and here is the proof! And holy crap are you gonna kick this challenge's a$$!

KAT--love the pics. Did you choose 77 because of Borque? He is a hero in this house.

Food = 870 calories so far, though will have bit more tonight. I may end up low which usually happens on Mondays...I work straight through without a break.
Alcohol = nada
Water = working on it, but mostly done.
Exercise = 1 hour strength/cardio intervals. Core to come.

Oh Lisa, if you only knew me a few short years ago, you would be so surprised. I was a doormat to be walked on. Did not have the outlook I have now (even though I am terrified still of rejection).

Luckily, I don't talk with her much at all. The only time I spoke with her, other than to answer yes and no questions, was at an Easter egg hunt at my church two years ago. It was either the anniversary of her baby sister's death or her baby sister's birthday ~ I forget which. She was a wreck and I was feeling extra moved by the spirit (some might say it was possession). It took everything I had (and my pastor's direct conversation and his wife's motherly talks to get me through it). I forgave both of them that very day. That is a huge discussion in itself. It took 5 tons off my shoulders. Anyway back to now. I have known her since we were 13 years old (20 years!). I know her mannerisms and I truely feel she avoids me because of guilt. She is financially stuck with him now, lol. :lmao: I am not mean or nice to her. I am Switzerland with her.

Now, this doesn't mean that I wouldn't like to pull out her curly red hair on occassion. I am human. :rolleyes1
