This was the best Disney vacation day ever! I absolutely cannot believe how much we did in one day.
Ok, the day in review
We got a bit of a late start, which you must know annoys me. I need to be there at park opening. Neither J or I got in a run today. We all needed to sleep a bit. So it was 9:15 by the time we got to Magic Kingdom.
Fortunately, as you will see, it was not an issue.
The second we got into the park, I ran to get fastpasses while J and the kids made their way to Fantasyland. In the first hour alone we did
.the Pooh ride, Peter Pan, teacups, Snow White, and Small World. Wow. 5 rides in 45 minutes. All were walk-ons. That has to be some kind of record!
Our goal is always to be in ToonTown at 10, which is when that part of the park opens. We were there right on time and did Goofys Barnstormer, then it was off to the Judges Tent to meet Tink and the rest of the faries. This proved to be a major disappointment. As I said, they opened their lines at 10am. By 10:10, when we got there, the wait was already 2 hours long! No way we were going to wait. So we did the princesses instead, which was only a 10 minute wait. I ran ahead and got more fastpasses.
We said goodbye to ToonTown and headed to Tomorrowland.
The catch phrase of the day was WALK-ON. Omg, it seemed like everything was a walk-on all day! In Tomorrowland, we walked on to Buzz (did it twice) and then did the Laugh Floor. They used our joke and the kids were featured up on the big sreen. Awesome!
Now it was time for our lunch (an early ADR at the Crystal Palace). This is always a must do for us. Kel fell in love with Pooh during her first Disney trip (at age 18 mos.) plus they have an awesome vegetarian selection. So we are always happy there. Met up with Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, and Eeyore.
After lunch, it was off to Frontierland. Big Thunder Mountain was
you guessed it
a walk on! Plus we had fastpasses. So we did it twice. This was great because it was the first time that Kel was tall enough to ride it, so we all got to do it. This was great for our family! Once off Big Thunder, it was still 20 minutes before our fastpasses for Splash were ready, so we decided to try our luck at the Haunted Mansion. We didnt have high hopes, since it is Halloween day and all. A 10-minute wait! This was the longest wait of the day. So of course we did it. Again, it was a first for some of us, so that made it great. Here are the kids in the line
getting all ready to be scared! Ha!
Back to Fronteirland for Splash. J got totally soaked, which was HI LAR IOUS! Fun ride. We all loved it.
We then made our way over to Pirates. Do I need to say it? PotC was a WALK ON! Did it twice. Love me some Johnny Depp! Saw Peter Pan over there, but the line was long so we just waved and kept on going.
Back to Tomorrowland
we did Buzz again, Stitchs Great Escape (which we all decided that we dont ever have to do again), and then Cam and I did Space while the others watched the parade. This was huge for Cammie since this was the first trip where she was tall enough for Space. She is like me
loves her thrill rides! We had a blast. It was 3:30 and time to head back to Boardwalk to get ready for Halloween.
First, though, we had about an hour for some pool time fun. It was in the upper 70s today which was PERFECT for park touring and swimming both. We were never too hot all day.
The kids enjoyed the pool while J and I enjoyed
.
I have to say, truly, Boardwalk DELIVERED tonight. OMG, what an awesome Halloween bash! We didnt even have to leave the Boardwalk area. They had a HUGE party. DJ played dance tunes for 3 hours. Every major dance hit from the 80s and 90s. We rocked the whole time. Plus, there was trick-or-treating all around the boardwalk, and the kids got a great haul.
The DJ announced Kellys birthday and played Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, which we have always joked is her theme song! She loved it! There were also all sorts of games and craft stations, etc.
The best part, though, was that Donald and Mickey were THERE. Out of the parks and at the Boardwalk
in costume! Mickey was a Scarecrow and Donald was a Pumpkin. Got pics with both. Also, J and I were happy because we could walk around with drinks all night. While the kids trick-or-treated around the Boardwalk, we trick or treated at the Big River Brew pub and the ESPN Club.
While sitting poolside with drinks, J and I pretty much decided that this would be our annual Halloween tradition from now on. Perfect temps, no crowds, and an amazing Halloween for the kids.
Tomorrow should be Blizzard, but we will have to see if the weather cooperates. It looks iffy right now. Then on Sunday it is off to Club Med.
