In Search of my Body...Not The One I ate...#3 "Crowning Goddesses As We Go"

Most of my days, I don't get crap done cause I screw around all day. And then there are days like today, where there just isn't enough of me to go around.

I did get my sales tax filed for Texas, so I won't be going to jail for at least one more quarter. And our first Home & Garden Show meeting is in the books. Whew.

I made a list this morning and maybe only got 6 things done and tomorrow won't be any better. Going to dr with sis in afternoon, Mad has dance then hubs and I are going to the next town over for a HBA "Green Building" Seminar/dinner (Can anyone say snooze fest.)

I got new shoes. Do you ladies wear your exercising shoes as everyday tennis shoes too? I think I'm going to try not to do that.

Hey all...
The walk went really well... DH and I raised $255 between the 2 of us...

Go Sarah! That is AWESOME! Win-Win, exercise for a good cause.

I ate Papa Johns, McDonalds, and Red Lobster... Also ate a small bag of Doritos and Twizzler bits...

YUM! And how could you not after your last work week?

J and I have been getting on phenomenally well for a while now, so that really makes me look forward to vacation. 4 days at Disney and 4 days at Club Med, which I cannot wait for. We have never been, but how can we not love it, right?

What excitement for you. Disney is only a week away. The lead up is just as exciting sometimes.

Hey everyone,

Busy day here. I ended up having to take DD to the pedi. She ran a 103.5 fever saturday afternoon and Sunday. Ugh. She had no other symptoms at all so I turn into paranoid-mommy since she has that kidney reflux issue and the last time she had a temp like that with no symptoms, she had a really really bad UTI. They checked her blood and urine and luckily there are no signs of infection. She is on antibiotics daily for the reflux, but breakthrough infections can occur. So it is probably viral. One last present from daycare.

Poor Baby Girl - what is the kidney reflux?

Lyz called me just as I was about to eat a piece of candy. No joke. WW 1pt candy, but still. Is that not divine intervention???

I really did. Isn't that hi lar ious! Did you eat the candy btw?

Lyz as divine intervention.... :rotfl2: hi lar ious....

What are you sayin goof? Hmmm?

Too tired to stay up... the pool sucked all of my energy tonight... I stayed the same at my weigh in this week...

You know, that is a victory that I'd take this week.

Kat - you are too smart! I don't even understand half of what you say. Unlock what?

And what is up with the freakin DIS? Has it been slow for you too?

Yes, Dis is whacked tonight. Lost a post and now is very slow. Will be on manana.

I go to Planet Fitness... yeah, its tacky. But for $10/month, I don't care.

Planet Fitness was...different....not what I'm accustomed to, but not *bad* either. Going back again this morning...

. I ate Papa Johns, McDonalds, and Red Lobster... Also ate a small bag of Doritos and Twizzler bits...

:crazy2: Oh my. Glad to hear you went shopping and bought GOOD stuff! Next time you are tempted to even touch any of those...*bad* things...imagine my voice in your head (or Erika's...:scared: ) telling you to DROP THE CRAP!

So TOM did finally show just as I was asking the girls at work to run a few test on me to check things out! NO TEST WERE NEEDED!:thumbsup2

Crisis averted! :yay:

-Okay - a mini update - still no internet at my home...maybe today...need to see what Chad can pay for CS with his job loss...and other than that...still feeling pretty good...:woohoo:

Have a big party this Thursday...Dan is doing one for me Tuesday since it is Treyner's last football game...so pray cause he is nervous...

Kids are all well...no injuries in fall sports..whew...and now Treyner starts indoor soccer..Baylor dabbles in winter soccer and plays hockey...Carsyn is looking to volunteer her time at her old elementary school...and not much else there...

I am freaking out about how close December is...I will financially pull it out...I always do...but eeek..wish I had not gotten sick...

Hope all of you are having a great day..miss ya...:grouphug:

It's nice to hear from you Dawn! :goodvibes I hope things continue to improve for you!

And I think I am getting an iPhone today.

WAAAYYY to technologically advanced for me  Remember...I can't even get the photos off my digital camera...and POST a pic? <sigh> maybe someday.....I think I was supposed to be Amish...:lmao:

That's good....orange jumpsuits aren't particularly flattering..:rotfl:

I got new shoes. Do you ladies wear your exercising shoes as everyday tennis shoes too? I think I'm going to try not to do that.

I keep my workout shoes for just that....working out....once I *retire* them I will wear them for yard work or...whatever....

Ok - off to give Planet Fitness another try. Strength training today...

TOM also surprised me this morning a bit early. :woohoo: .Made for a craptastic crampy bloaty day, but better now than at the TOT race on Saturday.

Off to catch up on everything.

Tyler had the Kidney Reflux to! Thank god he didn't have it bad. They sent us to a pediatric nephrologist and they did testing twice and sonograms but they think he out grew it before he was born. They found the problem while I was still pregnant in one of my sonograms. I hear it is much worse in little girls than boys. And yes I used to panic every time he got a fever to, I think the nurses at the pedi office got sick of hearing from me!

As for phones I have the LG Rumor, yes this is the same phone that I bought for my 14 year old this past July. We don't have the internet yet on our phones I don't want to pay for it here at home and then on my phone well not me Stephen doesn't so, I can always make a case for it and I DO! Hasn't worked yet. So I didn't think any fancy phone would be needed! I got one that allows me to text easily, which is great LOVE the KEYBOARD. I think we are buying one for Nate for his birthday to! So we will have almost all the colors that they offer in the house Sam has the lime green and I have the white and nate will have the black! Well, Mine has a cover and it is HOT pink.. Can you see me having any other color than that! geeesh! It is so me!

As for weight I was kinda bummed because I had only lost 0.2. Yes, I know it is a loss but I was down more than that during the week. YES, I WEIGH DAILY! I do it just to keep myself in check ! I can usually pretty much tell what my weight is going to be! I am excited though that my MIL made comments about my weight loss! She never says anything about it . She has never ever said anything about me gaining weight, So I was excited when she said OMG stephanie your face is so thin NOW! I think you have lost enough you look great! I said No I have to lose more! She told me to just be careful! UMM I was 100 pounds over weight losing more than 30 pounds isn't going to kill me!

So I have looked at plane tickets again! My mother said she found them for $89.00 one way for Jet-blue for me to fly out on Dec 4 and return on Dec 6. Yes, not the full time of the girls weekend, but it's something! It is still in my head to come for a few days. The only thing is now my mom is talking about coming with me and I was like NO DON'T THINK SO! I am going to talk to Stephen again about it and see what he thinks he would only have to take a day off or the boys could go to SIL for the night! I AM SO THINKING ABOUT IT STILL!!!! I think Stephen gets mad that I am thinking of going without him since he loves Disney!

Last night at WW our leader mentioned something about some walking thing over the winter and to make sure that you stay walking and there is some website that you can put in to cities that you want to walk to and from and you add in your steps every time you walk and see how long it takes to get there! I would be walking 1422 mile from here to Epcot! I told my mother well it is 1422 miles I would be walking and she was like wheres that bring you I said to EPCOT. She laughed! So that is our goal this winter to walk to DISNEY not actually but in virtual reality.

One of Sam's teachers approached me yesterday while I was waiting for the kids to get out. He said he is so glad to see her back on track and that she is happy and she had not one deficiency. This is the teacher that Sam doesn't like and says HATES her! He said he hasn't seen her this happy since 7th grade two years ago! When she got home I told her what he had said and told her that I was very proud of her and that she was doing great and to keep up the good work. Then she went to her room ! I swear that child is always in her room and here in Nate's room on the computer. Oh well to be a teen again! I was always in my room on the phone!

Ok off to do laundry again! and Clean out the wood stove! there has to be about 5 inches of ashes!:scared1: But the good thing is we haven't used the furnace yet. This morning it was a bit warmer outside so it was 75 in the house. A little warm!
I am off again all day today so I will pop in and out!

Please do not forget your flu shot!!!!

The First Half of this makes sense, but I like the second half better.

Eat right!
Make sure you get your daily dose of fruits and veggies.

Take your vitamins and bump up your vitamin C.

Get plenty of exercise because exercise helps build your immune system.

Walk for at least an hour a day, or go for a swim,

take the stairs instead of the elevator, etc.

Wash your hands often.

If you can't wash them, keep a bottle of antibacterial stuff around.

Get lots of fresh air.

Open doors & windows whenever possible.

Try to eliminate as much stress from your life as you can.

Get plenty of rest.

OR

Take the doctor's approach.
Think about it...
When you go for a shot,
what do they do first?
They Clean your arm with alcohol...
Why?
Because Alcohol KILLS GERMS.
So.......

I walk to the liquor store. (exercise)
I put lime in my Corona...(fruit)
Celery in my Bloody Mary (veggies)
Drink outdoors on the bar patio..(fresh air)
Tell jokes, laugh....(eliminate stress)
Then pass out. (rest)
The way I see it...

If you keep your alcohol levels up,
flu germs can't get you!

Live Well - Laugh Often -

:lmao:

Dreadmill done! Yaay me! It's been awhile.

Yeah Lyz!!! Proud of you for getting back on the dreadmill.....

Work is keeping me busy this morning so just a quick post to say hi....

I will admit that I am jealous of all the cool phones you guys have. Mine is so dull in comparison.... but what can you expect for free....

Anyways - have a great day,
Paula

As for phones I have the LG Rumor, yes this is the same phone that I bought for my 14 year old this past July.

Molli wants a rumor, baaaaad. They are having an ad campaign, free rumor with an unlimited text messaging plan. She has unlimited text messaging, so she thinks we can walk into sprint and they will hand us a free rumor. She refuses to listen, that to get a free phone, you need a new account. We have been going round and round on this!

I am excited though that my MIL made comments about my weight loss! She never says anything about it . She has never ever said anything about me gaining weight, So I was excited when she said OMG stephanie your face is so thin NOW! I think you have lost enough you look great! Steph, that is great your MIL noticed!

So I have looked at plane tickets again! My mother said she found them for $89.00 one way for Jet-blue for me to fly out on Dec 4 and return on Dec 6. Yay Steph. I hope you do. But, DO NOT bring your mother. lol.

One of Sam's teachers approached me yesterday while I was waiting for the kids to get out. He said he is so glad to see her back on track and that she is happy and she had not one deficiency.

That IS great news!!!

I will admit that I am jealous of all the cool phones you guys have. Mine is so dull in comparison.... but what can you expect for free....

Paula has phone envy.;) (you can't argue with free)

I'm doing good today. Getting lots done.

Lyz- I finally "get" why you *yelled* at me about quoting! DUH! I can't "quote your quote" :confused3 (wait. I think I just confused myself.... )

Junk food - ack. The nemisis of the American diet. It's all full of chemicals and stuff that is just plain old bad for us! But it does taste good. :rolleyes1 That's why it sells so well. And it appeals to our preferences for salt & sugar...making us want even more! Those marketing & product development folks definitely know what they are doing...

I try to compare food to gasoline. You wouldn't pour Coke into the gas tank of your car would you? Of course not! Your car wouldn't run right. Well...the food we eat is the fuel for our bodies. If you give it the right fuel - it will work properly. If you fill it with the wrong fuel? Well...it'll run poorly...

While my diet isn't completely "crap free", I think I do pretty well on eating mostly good stuff. Problem is, I love, love, love food :lovestruc So I struggle more with the quantity that I eat rather than the quality...:confused3

Nancy - I love the whole food as fuel analogy.... I definitely wouldn't pour coke into my gas tank so I shouldn't be pouring it into my stomach either.... Thanks for the good words...

Kat - forgot to mention earlier thanks for the DVC info... my neurotic mother was very appreciative.... she is putting her grocery order together now...

Hope everyone's day is going well... I am running on all cylinders today trying to keep up with all of the projects.... Can't wait for a minute to stop and breathe....

Paula

Just a quick drive by, i have to make dinner. But i had my Grad School application interview today, it went great.

The dean told me i'm pretty much in, i just have to wait for the board to sign off the on the papers.

So excited :goodvibes

Congrats!

I am feeling frusterated...found great air fare...now just need all the ducks in a row and the travel God's to hold on till I can buy it - UGH!!!! It is only $1080 for all 5 of us - we are figuring a savings of $400 versus driving...so do we save the $400 and drive...or fly???

Do I buy the 3 seats I have money for right now...and thn the other 2 on Friday and pray the prices are not astronomical? Help???

GREAT!! I am so glad it went well.

Kat - you are too smart! I don't even understand half of what you say. Unlock what?

An "unlocked" cell phone is one that isn't locked to a particular cell phone provider. So, you could switch from AT&T to T-mobile, for example, and it would work on either.

When you buy a phone from the provider it is by default locked to that provider. So, my AT&T phone can only be used with AT&T service.

Sprint doesn't have the ability to use unlocked phones, though, I don't think.

And that isn't being smart, more like being devious. :)

Yeah Lyz!!! Proud of you for getting back on the dreadmill.....

No problem, anytime.

I just finished my chick-fil-a salad... :)

I say fly, but that may be because it is my best/only option from WA. We would like to drive someday.

Signing in for #3 and I have missed everyone and thoughts were with you daily. Brand new computer here (our old one went snap crackle pop-with sparks and smoke) so a little slow on the new keyboard.

I'll sign in with DWD too.

I wouldn't put sugar in my tank either. So why put it in my tank? ha, lol.

And that isn't being smart, more like being devious. :)

Ha. And thanks for the unlock code for dummies. I understood it!

Yaay, Dawn. That purchase was a good mental health purchase, fo shizzle.

Football on Tuesday night? How weird is that?

ISigning in for #3 and I have missed everyone and thoughts were with you daily.

Well, there's a blast from the past! Heather, how is your court case going? You are doing great on weight loss!

EriKa - get your prioritites in order. We are here. Not running around Maine getting ready for a week of fun in the sun. mmmmmKay.

Wow, Heather! Long time no see! Welcome back! And OMG--118!!! That is amazing! Incredible! Good for you! Yes, a vegan diet is a great way to lose weight, no doubt about it. Just so very hard to stay true to.

Please give us the details on your work situation. This has been going on for so long!

I have lots to say...and in fact have said it twice...but both times the DIS ate my post. So right now I have neither the time nor energy to type it all out again.

I am here. Just in the weeds, as freakin' usual.

I got new shoes. Do you ladies wear your exercising shoes as everyday tennis shoes too? I think I'm going to try not to do that.[/COLOR]

What excitement for you. Disney is only a week away. The lead up is just as exciting sometimes.

Poor Baby Girl - what is the kidney reflux?

Shoes. Only wear them for working out. Then when you get your next pair, demote these for working-in-the-yard or whatever. Yes, I demote workout shoes like I do underwear. :rotfl2:

Yes, I am excited but it is really hard to get psyched up when there is SO SO SO much in between me and the date we leave. OMG, just so freaking busy.

As for the VUR (reflux). AMY--this is for you (and Steph, too). This is where Kelly's issues started. With reflux, which is fairly common and should be easily treatable. However, she has a severe case. Grade 5. Anyway, this means that she was apt to get pylos (kidney infections) and yes, she was on the prophylactic antibiotics as well and got load of breakthrough infections. My point is...every pylo in a child damages the kidney to a degree. So since she has had at least one (and she has...the telltale sign is that super high fever that doesn't break for a few days), then PLEASE get your doc to order a renal scan. Find out NOW if there has been any damage to the organ.

I so wish that someone had told us this way back when. If a renal scan had been performed in the early stages, Kelly would never have lost her kidney. As it turned out, by the time she had the test done, she was already in failure and the kidney had to come out. Please know that I am not trying to scare you or anything. This is just information that I wish I had ages ago. And yes, she was under the care of a pediatric urologist. But he didn't order the test. When we switched to a better pediatric urologist, it was the FIRST thing he ordered. And this new guy is the head of the dept. at Boston Children's Hospital which has the #1 pediatric urology and nephrology program in the WORLD, bar none. And he says that if there has been even one kidney infection in a child under 4 then you should have a renal scan done.

Steph--it is very common for this to be diagnosed in-utero and it is also common for it to resolve itself before birth. You would KNOW if it had not resolved itself, so no need to worry for your little man. :goodvibes

WOO HOO! You even got your workout in before I did today!

We are SO on the same page with this. I never eat fast food. Just wouldn't think of it. Same with a candy bar. But I just eat too much GOOD food. And no matter how healthy it is, it is still calories in.

Yaay, Dawn. That purchase was a good mental health purchase, fo shizzle.

EriKa - get your prioritites in order. We are here. Not running around Maine getting ready for a week of fun in the sun. mmmmmKay.

OMG, yes. Good news on the tix. No way I would do the 24-hour drive. Put a bullet in my head, please.

As for my priorities...UGH! I would so love to have the luxury of just surfing the DIS all week and getting excited for this trip. But I am mired down in the muck. And not very happy about it.

I have lots of stories to tell from this week and will have to get around to them eventually...including one about me being all dressed up and ready for a banquet (where I was speaking) only to find that I had chocolate smeared on the back of my pants. The only thing I had with me was my gym bag...you do the math.

And another story about doing wind sprints at the bus stop.

Be back on later tonight. Miss you guys something fierce.

E- Thanks for asking for details. I spent hours and hours here and I lost it . I need to learn how to swear with the keyboard ##$$* & %### I think I hit tab. :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:
I've missed those smilies. Sh##!!! oh I can't believe I lost it. Sorry.

Hey there girls and Dan

Dawn glad you got your tickets!!!!

E~ can't wait to hear all about the chocolate smeared pants! What NO dress??

So as for me today after sitting on my but all morning on the computer, I managed to squeeze in a few hours of cleaning off the front porch! I managed to clear off one side and cram it all on to the side that I had just cleaned out last week! YIKES! So now I have to decide what needs to be put in the attic and what needs to go in the trash! I also have to move stuff around in stephens garage so that when we have this house warming party I can keep people out of the house! HA!:rotfl: :rotfl2: . I even squeezed in a shower this afternoon! I also managed to make dinner and a dessert! Of course the dessert was a hit! It is some type of pumpkin dessert made with a yellow cake mix!

Recipe as follows!
1 15 oz can of pumpkin
1 12 oz can of evaporated milk (NOT CONDENSED)
1 cup sugar
3 eggs
4 teaspoons of pumpkin pie spice

Mix these together and pour into a grease (pam) 9x13 baking dish
take 1 box of yellow cake mix (straight from the box) and sprinkle over top of pumpkin mixture!
Melt 2/3 cup of butter and pour over top and Bake at 350` for an hour or until knife inserted in center comes out clean! Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream while warm!

Yes I didn't wait to be asked for the recipe! I have learned... NO I didn't figure out the WW points nor the calories! I will do that tomorrow.

Ok I am off to bed ! have a great night and talk to you all later!
