In response to Jersey threads---Any DVC'ers from TEXAS????

Another Plano family here - owners at VWL since 2001. I am also an Aggie - class of '87 :)

Great to see so many Texan DVCers!

There are 6 of us here in Friendswood, TX (just outside of Houston). We usually do the drive 1-2 times per year, although we once did the drive 4 times in one year!! As a matter of fact, we just arrived home from FL last night...we were sailing on the Magic last week.

Austin here. Shady Hollow Area but I work up north and my YB works in Creedmoor.
We are planning on driving in SEPT or OCT when My BIL gets back from IRAQ

We live just east of Dallas in a small suburb. Have been members since 01.

We live in Sachse Texas near Dallas. We make the drive each year. For us the best way is to drive straight through.

How long does that take you? Thats more of the route I would take then Austin probably.

19 hours. We leave at 3:00 PM, stop for a goop dinner around 7:00, let the kids sleep and get into Disney around 10:00AM and head straight to the park. Feel free to email directly at stilljc@msn.com if you have any questions. We tried leaving early in the morning but figured out that it is much quicker to drive over night when there is no traffic. It also helps having a DVD player in the car and having the kids sleep most of the way. Our kids are 6, 7 and 9. We have done this trip for three years now.

It is about 20 hour drive for us with stops. About 17 if you drive straight through. Hard to not make frequent stops when you have a 2 and 3 year old.

Yup, settin' here just north of Houston (barely).

Hey Ya'll!:yay:
We're in Missouri City-Sienna Plantation Area, just southwest of Houston. I am so glad to hear that the drive isn't too bad. I've been telling DH we should give it a try. Flying has gotten to be such a hassle.
Love Road Trips!:drive:
