we have THREE Josie's at my small school
a kindergartener, a fourth grader and a sixth grader

and two of the Josie's are really JOSEPHINE

Just found out picture day for DD14
is a day AFTER her braces appointment



it is such a pain to change appointments, too
will probably set us back another month, they are so busy

not that DD14 will care......

Our orthodontist is INSANELY busy, he has four offices, spends one day a week in each and has a troop of workers who race around the whole day, patients stacked so each chair is busy ALL day long.

I haven't even called to try to switch the appointment yet....

Sad, sad day for my school district
a young teacher lost his battle to cancer last night

He has been fighting it for two years now
never wavered in his determination or positive attitude

DD11 made cupcakes tonite
from scratch

an internet "for kids" recipe
included a packet of unsweeetened kool-aid

they taste like cherry chip cupcakes I remember from eons ago
(she added cherry kool-aid)

was40 family reunion this weekend

my dad is "home" from Florida, visiting Gram and Pap
my brother in VA is coming up

Erie bro is on call, so may not make it
but otherwise, big ole family gathering in the works!

it was 91 here on Monday
93 yesterday
and 95 today


UGH! I am roasting!!!!!!

all day with a class full of hot sweaty kids
no AC
no breeze
no sanity!

My house smells SO good!
I just made "no bake cookies" which are a chocolate, peanut butter and oatmeal delight, really more like candy than cookies...

It has been a very long hot week!

DH's parents just called to ask if we want their "old" mattress

works out so nicely since we were going to get DD14 a new larger mattress


DH"s mom had back surgery a few years back,
and they bought a new mattress three years ago when she though the old mattress was the trouble, and now they think they want a new one, and have been shopping the sales

DD14 will either be thrilled
or not

mattress now, new bedroom suite..........eventually
have I been looking for one for the past three random threads????

Happy Labor Day!

We had a big family gathering, my dad home from FL, my brother in from VA

it was very nice
except at the very end (late at night)
Great Grandma got sick (throwing up sick)
poor thing!

My dad is NOT good with sickness
that is putting it mildly

Gram is feeling better yesterday and today, thank goodness!

It is much cooler this weekend

but going to warm right back up during the school week

I am enjoying the chilly day (still in shorts and a tank top, even though it is only about 70)
