My Aunt is having a mechanical heart put in on Wednesday, would you all please keep her in your thoughts

I move back to school on Saturday This week will be filled with lots of goodbyes and packing (which I am dreading and will be putting of till the last possible minute )

DS's truck ceased working this morning....well, not exactly. It was making a noise and he was smart enough NOT to drive it. Bearings out of a pulley (I only sound this mechanical because the mechanic told me that!) Hopefully it is a quick, inexpensive fix to just replace the pulley, not the whole bigger part (he didn't tell me what that part was!)

Thanks! I think I am going to go over to my school and see if I can do anytihing in my classroom. The floor was still tacky from waxing last week.

I have some new Disney posters I want to hang....

Much easier to say the goodbyes on year 2! Not so much nervousness, more excitement to go back to your school friends and school routine.

I am sad that summer is over, but I am excited for you, Snow!
I always like the start of a new school year, too.
I am excited to meet my class, and put up all the new stuff, and begin a new season of learning with my new students!

DS's truck is fixed, under $100 with service right at the house


I had a wonderful birthday yesterday~ started with peanut butter M&M's and ended with peanut butter pie that friends brought up and devoured with us

I worked in my classroom a bit, made a special dinner of grilled steak, corn on the cob and baked potatoes, made a trip to the library for new reading material, and generally just enjoyed the sunshine!

Today we are going to the county fair

livestock, homemade items, 4-H displays, carnival rides, delicious food (kettle corn is already calling my name!)

the girls are each taking a friend and DS is coming, too
guess he and I are riding partners....neither of us is keen on spinny things so we are a good pair!

poor DH, will be at work

(he is probably doing this at his fate )

The Fair was fun!
I did indeed enjoy me some kettle corn, and luckily I saved a few handfuls for DH, who also loves it... (good thing he got home on time, or he woulld not have gotten any!)

We rode, won wonderful prizes, ate and enjoyed the animals. It was a beautiful day and I had to drag the girls home, they weren't ready to leave (which means they still had some money to waste!)

We are home from a fun weekend in Virginia, Maryland, and washington DC! We went to Six Flags America, and toured our nation's capitol.

DD14 got sick on the drive down I thought it was motion sickness, but it hung on for an entire day, so must have been a bug

She is better now, thank goodness, and the drive home was uneventful
