We have a bit of snow this morning, maybe two inches
the kids are out enjoying every flake

I promised hot chocolate when they come in

I painted all the first names on the swim posters last night
and decided to do last names too

the first names are larger and have cute dots on the letters
the last names will be plainer (and quicker, perhaps) and a bit smaller

The paint I am using is enamel, so I wanted to use the brush for ALL the first names and then just toss it, and I have a sllightly smaller brush for the last names. Cleaning up non washable paint is not my forte', pitching the brush is a llot less work!

Tonight is the Christmas Dance for DS and GF

her dress is purple

did you know purple is a very big range....
I got DS a shirt which is burgandy, which may not be the purple he meant
we shall see
he can always wear his black shirt.....

I am having such a productive day
if you don't count all that snow clothing mess that is taking over the house

I got ALL of the swim posters painted with the kids first and last names
I have three loads of laundy finito
and one more drying
and I wrapped all the christmas presents

I am just going to pat myself on the back and do my happy dance now

DH is taking the girls to the mall
(gasp)

so DD13 can do her "secret santa" shopping
and I am going to do NOTHING


well, maybe I will treat myself to some M& M's

DD10 had a terrible thing happen to her today

there have been a lot of bus issues
they just got assigned seats last week


today a bully was being mean to some kids near DD10
and she stood up for the kids getting picked on
and the bully
SNEEZED, on purpose full on DD10's face


I gather many were appalled and DD10 was taken to the nurse for "clean up" with clorox wipes
we got a very nice note from the dean of students apologizing for what happened and commending DD10 for doing the right thing (supporting a victim)
and the principal has dealt with the bully

Poor DD10... the nurse called me, and I talked her down this morning, she was pretty upset

She's a good kid!! So sorry that happened to her Is she ok?

Very upsetting for me to read this after all of the bullying issues DS has had over the years.

I'm heading over to Grandma's soon to help put up her tree
which really means that she and Uncle George are going to sit on the couch
while I do all the work

Snow is falling steadily. We're expecting 12-18 inches by the early morning. Not looking forward to clean up outside or inside!

Hey just checking in from a day at animal kingdom. Yesterday the first day we went to epcot.tomorrow we are going to be at magic kingdom. I will try to check in tomorrow before we leave. The Christmas decorations are pretty so far but can't wait to see how magic kingdom is.

DD10 is fine
DH is still rather perturbed, thinking of making a big issue out of it with the bully's parents (through the school)
He will cool off....he is usually a very rational man.

DS let me take a few pics
(more after the dance than before, as his friend and his GF were here before and they were anxious to go out to dinner
and I was feeling a little deprived of photographs

but after the dance he let me take more

Here are a couple of them:

You can see my garland on the staircase...I like to keep this up through Valentines day or longer. I love the white lights and it has gold and purple and pink, not traditional red and green.

We have just a little, a couple inches.
My sis in law in VA posted on facebook that they have already canceled school on Monday and Tuesday for them! They have LOTS of snow!
