The title pretty muich says it all. We will be arriving at 1pm and for our first day partial day I have Chef Mickey's booked for Dinner. We are staying at POP but I thought it would be neat to look around our resort, go to the Contemporary and of course ride the monorail. I am now second guessing myself... Would we be better off to just check in and head to Disney Quest for the remainder of the day? We could eat a CS there for Dinner. We are taking a 14 y o girl who has never been. Please offer words of advice...What would be most appealing for someone new to Disney magic? Our first full day we are going to MGM and fantasmic. :scratchin

I guess it would depend what you're interests are. My ds who was 6 and 8 on our last 2 visits thought Disney Quest was the highlight of his whole trip. Had to drag him and DH out of there after 5 hours. For dd (3 and 5) she didn't get anything out of Disney Quest and I hated the place just gives me a huge headache.

This trip dd and I are doing BIbbity Bobbidy Boo boutique our first day while they boys are hitting Disney Quest

For anyone that enjoys video games Disney Quest is heaven but for the rest of us we would rather do Chef Mickey's and the Monorail. Kim

I would think to a 14 year old Disney Quest would be much more fun than a charactor meal. She may be getting a little old for that. Disney Quest is a lot of fun and 14 is a great age to do it.

Does she play a lot of video games at home? If not, you're much better off w/ CM, the Contemporary ambiance and riding the Monorail. Perhaps you could start her pin trading. We often ride the monorail to pin trade at the 3 resorts w/ cast members. Great way to start a vaca'n!!!

If you love DQ as much as my family I say head to DTD and go to WGPE for dinner or EOS and then on to DQ! If you have much younger kids and want to start with some extra magic I say take a bus to MK then monorail over to CR and do CM!

:rotfl:

Well....you could be nuts like us....we are planning on hitting Disneyquest between 1 and 2 o'clock AND we have Chef Mickeys scheduled for 7:30.

I figure 5 hours is more than I can handle in Disneyquest anyway so the ADR kind of gets us out of there before my head explodes.

My DS loves DQ, and always has. My DD, now age 10, has hated it since she was a toddler.

Is this a surprise visit? You might show your 14 yr old pictures and descriptions and get her involved in the choice.

I'd lean towards DisneyQuest, especially if you have reservations or other opportunities for character meals. You could always do both. Even hit DQ, monorail over to Chef Mickey and then do some more DQ afterwards.
