In N Out Burger

So glad to find this thread. I had already mapped out our plan the other night about taking a cab to go grab a bite at one of these.

Oh! How much would a cab cost to get to one from Disneyland?
I'm not sure, it's been over 25 years since I've taken a cab, but I see that there is usually a minimum of $10-$15 and given there are several within a few miles of DL, I'm betting it would be about that, plus tip. AND of course buying your driver a shake at minimum. :teeth: But hey, everything at Disney is gonna cost cha and I'd rather it cost me an ENJOY it as opposed to most Disney food which makes me crabby to pay for in it's mediocrity.

See, I don't think their food is worth a taxi fare. Stop in if you have other plans in the area, but it's not *the* ultimate burger experience Californians make it out to be. I know, it's blasphemous to say such things, but this ain't no Argentinian beef burger with ingredients smuggled in from the Himalayas. It's a basic burger touted for freshness. And the fries ****.

*dons flamesuit* :teeth:

Are you staying on/near Harbor Blvd?

You can take the OCTA Route 543/43 Public Bus heading North to Harbor and Orangethorpe. The bus stop is right by the In-n-Out Burger.

And will you have and ART Shuttle pass? If so, the ART pass will work with the OCTA, so it would be free. The ride is about 20 minutes each way.

I agree that it would be hard to justify a cab fare for In n Out, and we regularly stop on our drive home. Use Uber instead and save at least a bit of cash if it's a must have. Does anyone know if UberEats covers In n Out? Maybe you can get it delivered.

Double double with grilled onions and chopped chiles, fries well done. That's our usual order.

Sometimes it costs more to have an experience, even if that experience is a cheap fast food burger. If someone lived in So Cal their whole life and heard about those square burgers with holes, they might want to try White Castle. If they found themselves at a hotel on the east coast without a rental car, it might be worth it to them to pay a cab fare to add the experience to their trip. I wouldn't use UberEats for In n Out if you've never been. Part of the experience is ordering and seeing the whole operation. I wouldn't tell someone it's not worth the time and money to go a few miles for an experience outside the parks when part of the reason is I have a car and can drive thru on my way home, or it's not the best burger, so not worth trying at all.

I have to laugh here at SMD's comments. My breakfast this morning at my house in West Anaheim, I microwaved White Castle Cheeseburgers. And yes, when I am in an area that has White Castle restaurants, I want to stop and grab some sliders, which are much better than the Frozen version.

Along the same thoughts, Krispy Kreme Donuts (one is nearby at the Outlets of Orange. there is a big difference between picking up a box at a grocery Store, and actually going to the restaurant, where they have a "show kitchen" so you can see the classic donuts being made, and the "Hot Doughnuts Now" neon sign. The Original Glazed is the classic, but simple and basic, just done well, and tastes better when you can eat them right out of the fryer.

So stop in at a In-n-Out Burger, and take advantage of the free hats and bumper stickers they hand out. (And there is a classic story about how one of the first versions had to stop being made, due to some people being creative and removing a couple of letters....)

seems like everyone else covered locations. i just want to tell you to order your burger and/or fries animal style!

My husband and I were talking about In N Out yesterday (which we do try to get to when we are in Cali) and he mentioned 'animal style' so I guess we're trying out food animal style this time lol Oh and I'm definitely ordering my fries well done!

People that have had their food can easily say it's not worth it, but listen, we're on vacation. If you want to talk about food not being "worth it" it's Disney's food. If anything makes me angry on our Disney vacations, it's that. Going to In N Out is part of our vacation and fun for us. It is another destination on our vacation. We have never been to one and perhaps may never get the opportunity to ever again. That alone is worth it. WE will determine what "worth" is for us.

My usual order
Double Double animal style
Well done fries Without asking for well done the fries tend to be to soft for my liking.
Close with a Pink Lemonade.
A milk shake later if I want dessert..

Now all I can think about is stopping at Santa Nella on our way Friday to Disneyland and getting a 3x3 - spread and onions only , animal style fries and a Neapolitan shake.
FRIDAY WRU..
