It's still dark but in parts the track is visible because of the effects. It's using some of lighting effects from Rockin in addition to the screens used during Ghost Galaxy.

Kelly & I rode it today. My favorite version of Space Mountain EVER! Because of the soft opening the queue was very manageable, and when we got there - front row! Woot!!

We also got front row today and loved it! hoping for the same tomorrow so we can buy a photo!

We waited for about 35 minutes this afternoon, the CM at the front entrance estimated 45 minutes and there was a paper sign at the stand-by/fastpass entrance that said 65 minutes.

As soon as the music hits when you round the corner, it's everything I imagined and hoped it would be. Can't wait to check out the rest of Season of the Force tomorrow. Looks like BB-8 cups were gone today too.

WOW! That looks AWESOME! Can't wait to try it, my DGS will go crazy!! He loves Star Wars. Hope he makes the height requirement, does anyone know what it is? TIA:yay::yay:

Here's my report so far:
Free traffic on 91 E and 5 S were awful around 8:30 (9am opening) There was an accident at Euclid, freeway signs advised staying on the 91 and detour around. Which I did and the 5 was a standstill. I decided Toy Story would be easier, with street construction it was down to 2 lanes until Katella, then 1 lane for that last block. I hit the parking booth at 8:58, there were only 5 cars turning into the lot. A car decided to stop in the middle of the lane heading to parking and unload mom and 2 kids from car seats. I didn't actually park until 9:09. What is wrong with people?

There were about 25 people waiting for the shuttle. The third family left their stroller in the aisle, so no one could pass. CMs decided to send the shuttle with only 8 people, so everyone had to wait. Again, seriously people? We all want to go to the park, don't block the aisle.

I got a text from my friend who stayed on Harbor, he said Main St was a zoo, he rode Hyperspace Mountain last night, says he's done POTC and is at River Belle. At this point I was in a line about 20 deep for bag check, all tents and lanes open. They're checking all zippered pockets, and CMs are roaming through doing random checks on jackets, sweatshirts and strollers. There are also police dogs on the esplanade.

Next entry lines were even with the monorail posts. Some people cut into the line next to me saying it was one of the short lines blocked by the post. No, it wasn't. This started a small fight. Then when it got to the turnstile each line was split into 2 turnstiles, some people came from the back of the 30 person line and the guy just shoulder checked me right out of the way. At this point even though the line was long I had only waited about 3 1/2 minutes, but I did tell the CM, "You know, no one likes to wait in line, those people just cut in front of 30 people." I finally entered the park at 9:44.

And then as soon as I walked into the park, I saw a selfie stick in use. Nice.

Main St wasn't too bad, nothing like the the pictures I saw 35 minutes earlier. The foot traffic was pretty even going to both sides of the hub. There are a lot of people wearing race shirts and medals, so the weekend crowds have hung around. Once I got into TL there was a long line for Astro Orbitors but hardly any for Star Tours. I went straight to the SM FP line. It was about a 5 minute wait. The return time jumped from 1:15 to 1:25. The machine also ran out of paper, so a few of us had to get reprints, no big deal, took about 2 minutes, it just shows how popular this is.

The standby line was 45, they made me exit all the way to Pizza Port and get in the standby line back there. It wasn't that busy, but I think they're expecting it to be. I waited 21 minutes from the start of standby to the merge and 9 minutes from the FP merge until I got on the ride. I'll post some semi-spoilery stuff at the end.

When I exited it was about 10:25. The standby posted time was 55 minutes and FP return was 3:15. The Launch Bay line was wrapped around the building with switchbacks a dozen CMs in various attraction uniforms are doing crowd control. The posted wait time is 120 minutes for Chewbacca and Darth Vader (you have to pick one) and the line just to get to that point looks to be an hour. Also, the line for Tie Fighter popcorn bucks extends to Nemo. Someone told me that's been in it for almost 90 minutes, and had 15 people in front of them. The park had only been open 95 minutes at this point. On the other hand, there is no line for Superhero HQ. I walked right in. Waits are 20-40 for the characters/exhibits. 30 for Thor, posted 40 for Spider-Man, CM is telling people 20, but I've been in it for 10, haven't moved a step. The merchandise and Spider-Man lines have met in the back, CMs are trying to separate, it's kind of a mess. No wait for Iron Man or to play Disney Infinity on X-Box. You can see down into Launch Bay. Other than meeting Chewie I can't see anything that hasn't been at conventions and museum exhibits before. I've also heard about 50 guests try to convince CMs to let them go down the stairs to Launch Bay. A few have gotten pretty heated. Again, I get it, you're a fan. But do people really think a CM is going to just let them and only them skip a 3 hour wait because they're a bigger fan or their trip is more important than 1,000 other people? Security has to keep getting involved.

Hyperspace Mountain:

It was fun. There's music from the soundtrack and blaster sounds. It was a little loud and fairly high pitched. I think if someone had sensory concerns then this might be a little bit more to handle than the regular ride. There are also some timed effects like on Ghost Galaxy. I was in row 6 and didn't feel they are as well timed for the whole car as GG. My advice is keep looking ahead to see the most stuff.

Some friends went yesterday, but did not know about the half marathon.
Exited the freeway at 8:15, entered the park at 11:00

Yeah, I volunteered yesterday, when I was heading home around 9:30 my guess was the line of cars at the DL Dr off ramp was an hour. And I had the thought that many of those people probably had no clue.

As an update to my last post about HQ. It took me 25 minutes to reach the now updated 45 minute wait sign for Spider-Man. I've now been in this line for over 40 minutes. I can see about 30 people ahead of me, not sure how much "hidden" line is in the V.A.U.L.T.

Thanks for the update and in depth information. I am SO happy I booked a walking distance resort for our December trip now. For Thanksgiving we are driving down however our hotel is still walking distance ( 20 minutes likely) but think it will be better than dealing with any traffic with Thanksgiving + Seasons of the Force+ Harbor/Katella construction.
I'm thinking we will try and devote Monday the 8th for the meet and greets at Seasons versus trying to deal with that during Thanksgiving/CP weekend.

I posted this on another Hyperspace Mountain thread but this is the current line for the ride this afternoon...

Yeahhh, we were in that line. We got there at 8:50, and parked the car around 9:50, then walked to Disneyland. It took an hour to get from the freeway to park in the structure. There were lines on both the carpool and normal lanes on the right. At first, we thought there was an accident because of the back-up on the freeway.

We knew that there was a marathon, but it had been so long since I've gone at opening, or at that time, that it was the first time I experienced lines like that. We were only there for a few hours, and did what we intended to, so it was all good. Plus, my daughter got a new Jack Skellington jacket (thanks to mom... ;) ), so she was really happy. It was her idea to go on Hyperspace Mtn, and I'm so glad we did! That was her goal, and mine was to check out the Santa photo area in Critter Country, so we did what we wanted, then had lunch, and came on home.

Question from family. Will the meet and greet for Darth Vader be open during EE? If not what time does it open? We are thinking of trying to get TL knocked out early in the trip and then concentrate on other lands.

By the way, I got a BB-8 sipper around 12:
Wow, they went fast. Kelly & I saw a bunch of them in Pizza Port around 11am.
I got one at noon and when I walked by at 1pm they were still out on the counter next to the pasta and on top of the soda machines.

I'm not there but the photo I saw on Instagram shows the hours starting at 10 am- now if they actually did those hours with those crowds I do not know lol 120+ mins is a bit out of my comfort zone for waiting
