In light of EMH changes...

Which onsite perk would you prefer?

  • Keep same amount of EMH as now...no reduction.

  • Reduce EMH, but allow 4 preselected FP+ per day

  • Eliminate EMH, but allow 5 preselected FP+ per day

  • Reduce or eliminate EMH, but no tiering restrictions for FP+.

If you usually stay onsite, which perk would you prefer?

I'd keep EMH.

(Or, maybe I just don't understand the question.)

I think what the OP is trying to ask is this.

Assuming that Disney's "resources" are finite and fixed (meaning that if you want an additional FP+, you need to cut some EMH time), would you prefer they reduce/eliminate EMH in favor of more pre-selected FP+s just for Disney Resort Guests?

In my opinion, I'd take the extra FP+s (or no tiering) as I rarely use EMH, particularly at Epcot, DHS, and DAK. That said, considering we're talking about cutting one HOUR from a park's operating schedule, I don't think, financially, it's an equal tradeoff.

My understanding from another thread that the overall park hours have not shortened, just the EMH. Am I wrong?

You are correct, well they've just shuffled EMH not reduced the amount of hours for AM or PMEMH. That said, EMH require CMs, operating costs, etc... just as regular hours do. Even though only some, which is a growing "some" now, can ride the attractions, you still have very significant operating costs for that hour.

I'm the lone vote to eliminate Tiering and reduce EMH. There is only one ride I care to do in the B Tier at DHS, so I am gonna have to set a FP+ for a ride I don't really want just to try to burn it early so I might get a 4th for a ride I do care about.

Looks like the poll is overwhelmingly in favor of keeping EMH. I have to admit, I'm a bit surprised. Do most people really take advantage of EMH? I usually try to avoid them, except for Epcot Friday nights and an occasional MK evening.

We do try to take advantage of them as much as we can

As a teacher who doesn't (at least 8 years into the profession) take time off during the year to go down, I go only in the summer. Due to that, I love late EMH at any park, but especially at MK. I'm so frustrated that the Sunday until 2am has become Saturday until 1am, but I will still be taking advantage of them come August 2nd.

I voted to keep the same amount of EMH. Have to admit that I have never utilized the morning hours but love staying in a park, especially MK, late at night.:cool1::cool1:

We only use evening extra magic hours at Magic Kingdom. Morning magic hours and any of the other parks are a wasted perk for us.

I voted for getting 5 FP+

I mean I am open to EMH's but prefer evening EMH and so many are early with parks opening at 8am. People complain about the planning required for Disney but the biggest "issue" (don't really care that much) is that parks open at just about the right time now and any earlier is just too early for a vacation.

With the way my kids work, EMH does nothing for us. I would LOVE to eliminate them and have 5 FP+.

HOWEVER, if it were DH and I traveling alone, I would want the evening EMH to stay, maybe even morning. When my kids are teens I imagine the EMH will be useful.

I say they should just give onsite guests an addition FP+ or two anyways.

The main value I find in emh is that it is a crowd magnet and allows me to visit lower crowd parks. However, I would like to see it eliminated, 5 fastpasses (staying within your poll) and going back to the E-nights.

Wait a second. Has it been announced, suggested or even rumored that the reduction in EMHs will result in allowing additional FPs? Not sure I understand the poll choices.

No, it hasn't.

No, it hasn't.

Sorry. Then the poll is pointless.
I would vote for a write-in choice which is just as fictitious.
"No EMH for anyone else. But my family gets in early and can do whatever we want for 2 hours."
