In and Out in a Day

Good morning, everyone!

Becky - that picture is something else. I don't think any of us here will understand completely what you must be feeling. Give yourself enough time to deal with the feelings, and know that we will still be here when you come back!

Robin - Congrats to the kiddo! That is really a great accomplishment!

Ellen - I'm so thrilled about Matthew's job! Sounds like a really great deal for him! I can't even begin to imagine how proud you are of all your kids! I'm so glad that Addy is going to be ok. It's so hard to see our furbabies in pain!

PIO - JEALOUS!!! I love that play, and to see those particular actors would be heaven! We want a full report, please!!!

Nancy - Good for you for getting the accounting degree as well! That will be a wonderful thing. Sounds like Buddy is behind you 100%. That counts for a whole lot! I'm so glad that there are people who will advocate for Marisa. If she's going to be doing the work, she definitely should be paid!

Today is a really special day for us! My niece is coming home after serving a mission for our church! I'm checking out the kids from school so we can greet her at the airport. She has been in Madagascar for 18 months! We've really missed her, and can't wait to see her again! After that, Alan told me to take the kids out to Golden Corral for a late lunch/early dinner. He has to leave for the weekend, so we are going to do this so the kids won't be so sad about daddy being gone!

Dinner last night was breakfast quesadillas. I scrambled some eggs, fried some bacon, sauteed some peppers and onions, shredded some cheese, cut up some tomatoes and avocados, and then we assembled what we wanted. I made them with whole wheat tortillas, and they were so yummy! The kids loved them so much! Definitely a keeper for our breakfast for dinner nights!

Ellen- that must feel awesome to have all three of your kids settled in with their lives. I think my husband would agree with Matthew, our kiddo just got accepted into jr honors society. My husband was proud of her of course, then he found out there will be a ceremony ! Glad to here the pup is okay, how is cooper doing? Do you still need to get him checked often?

Bless your heart, thanks so much for asking about Cooper. The Vet says he is his miracle dog. He has never seen a dog with that kind of cancer beat it. But Cooper has - I swear it is our powerful prayer team here. :thumbsup2 We had him checked every month, then 3 months then 6 months and now we just keep an eye on it. When I take him in to have his toenails trimmed they check him out. But so far all is well.
Congratulation for your kiddo. What a wonderful accomplishment. Good for her.

Ellen-prayers answered! i know that you and Doug are so very proud of Matthew, this is an amazing opportunity for him!

Buddy is happy about the additional acres. We will have a huge cash outflow this year though, so i am not looking forward to that. He is going to measure it off, he thinks it is about 4 acres tillable, which will double what we have now. 4 acres does not seem like a lot, and for most crops it is not. With the additional acreage, Buddy will have a lot more work. Right now he does almost everything himself. WE bring in help, but that is for major work, not plowing, etc. The additional 4 will mean a lot more time for him, I am not good on a tractor, even if he trusted anyone else but himself and Dan to set teh rows ;)

I have class tonight and a conference with my adviser I think I want to go for an acct degree as well as one in Business administration. If I choose to go back to work, I think I will better be able to find a job with this degree.

Good for you. You know how proud I am of you. You truly are my hero. There is NO way I could go back to school.
I am happy for Buddy. The extra acres will be hard work, but worth it in the end. I hear you on the tractor, Doug is pickey also!!

Becky ~ Oh sweetie, I have so been thinking of you and all of Boston. What a tribute that wall is. I am sure it is hard to walk by it but also a real joy to feel the togetherness.
Give yourself all the time you need. This will take time!! Please know we are all here for you.

PIO ~ Oh my goodness I am also very jealous of you. Driving Miss Daisy was a favorite of mine. Have a great time.

Glynis ~ WOW!! Good for your neice. What a wonderful Mission. You must be so proud.
Your dinner out sounds like so much fun, I wish I could join you. I love Golden Corral. My Daddy used to own/manage one. I pretty much grew up in one. Love their clam chowder and rolls.

The sun is shining, the sun is shining. I want to yell it from the roof tops. I haven't seen the sun for so long, I can't remember the last time I actually did. suppose to get to upper 60's today, upper 70's tomorrow and maybe low 80's on Saturday. I really think Spring is here!!

Doug and I are heading into Lincoln as soon as we get off at noon. Tonight is the big banquet. I am really looking forward to it. I love to get all dressed up. Should be a nice night. We will come back on Saturday as we have confirmation in church on Sunday. And we have been invited to a few dinners after. I won't be around till Monday, so you all play nice.

WFDT ~ Banquet food. At least I don't have to cook. WooHoo!!

Make it a great day.

Glynis- no wonder you are so proud of your niece! Taking the kids out to greet her is such a good idea, she is going to love that you all made sure to welcome her home!

The crazy thing about this tutoring thing is that Marisa did not want pay. The skill center is taken care of out of student dues so it is a free service to all. Marisa just wanted to give back so she went in to see if she could volunteer and found out that she needs to be receiving financial assistance, which I sincerely doubt she qualifies for. The pay thing is non negotiable as well....you work there you get paid. So...... she has to apply for aid, get turned down, appeal the decision and then be considered for special circumstances. Then if granted, she can tutor.

Ellen-You are going to have a great weekend!!!!!!!!!!!! I surely do hope that Spring is around the corner, it is sunny here as well and I feel just like the weather!

Hey y'all. I feel so bad that I don't have time to read back and chat with each of you. This is probably the worst part of this whole mess, I miss you all terribly. I've been a part of your lives for years and now I'm not. I think of each of you and keep you in my prayers every day, never doubt that.:grouphug:

Kathy-Louise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't you worry about us, we are supposed to be worrying about you. For all of these years you are the person who reached out to every one of us when we needed you. For this one time, let us hold up our end while you concentrate on you.

I need you to know that I don't say much, but you are in my prayers daily. I believe that even when things seem to be at the worst place ever, something happens that no one could ever have foreseen, so please keep your Faith. I have no idea why this is happening to you, it seems beyond unfair, but I am not giving up that you are going to prevail! Now, no more guilty feelings here, you paid it forward many times over.

Kathy - I agree with Nancy! You have held us all up for so long... now it's our turn to repay the favor! I just wish we could all be together to do it! I feel so helpless, being so far away!

We will always be here for you! Just let us love you and pray for you, for now!

JUst checking in. I was in school all day and then straight to Mass. It is a beautiful day here, at least it sure looked nice!

FYI - Brandi is asking where everyone is on the WFDT. She just wants to know everyone is okay.

PIO- first....HOLY AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so jealous! i would give a lot to see either one of those iconic actors so your dream come true is a prize! ow, as to the WFD, I am having a hard time keeping up on anything, just very difficult right now. I am so sorry if I worried anyone

So today I have a project to work on after I get home from work. It is due tomorrow and I have not really even started it. :upsidedow I'll stop by later on if i can come up for air.

Thanks Nancy. I was literally crying at the end.

And yes, the WFDT runs a bit different these days....it is a lot more chatty and sometimes pretty instantaneous. It has slowed down a little because all you original regulars don't pop in as much. I'm glad I found this thread. :flower3:

Kat I couldn't say it better than Nan did. We love you Lady and are behind you 100%. Please know we are all holding you very close.

PIO ~ Oh my I am so jealous. What a wonderful thing to be able to go and see. I am so happy for you.
Please tell all hi for me.

We had a wonderful weekend. We were so proud of Matthew on Thursday at the banquet. There were 65 outstanding Seniors honored. They all presented their future plans. And I was totally shocked that over 1/2 of them had no job lined up, had no idea what they were going to do or they were just moving back home until the got a job. I think Matthew was a bit shocked also and finally it has hit home how darn lucky he is that he has a good job and career path.

We got home on Saturday as it was Confirmation Sunday and I was a mentor to 2 and I didn't want to miss their big day. During services Pastor Tess announced that she was leaving. I knew this, but couldn't tell until it was announced. The congregation was in shock. They really love her and she will be very missed. I hate going through another Pastor change plus I am going to lose a very good friend. I hate change!!

Make it a great day!!

Morning all,

Guess what??? We are forcasted to get snow - yep you read that right SNOW tomorrow. I give up!! It isn't going to accumilate any but still. It is the first of May. The high is only to be in the 30's. Matthew's graduation is outside in Memorial Stadium on Saturday morning. I think the temp. is to be in the 50's. That is too cold to be sitting outside plus there is a chance of rain. Oh please pray there is no rain.

WFDT ~ Roast (in the crockpot), potatoes and gravy and a peach salad.

Make it a great day all.

Ellen- SNOW :scared1: I don't care if it is only a dusting, it is SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!
I am bringing out the big guns for Mathews graduation....calling in Yvonne! I figure my Mom may have a little clout with Mother Nature ;)

I feel for you on the Pastor Tess problem, losing a friend and having to train a new Pastor.....not fun! I will keep you in my heart.

PIO- I would have been in tears as well. I am so glad you made it here too!

Well this is crunch time at school and I am trying to keep up. I broke the news to Buddy that I may be continuing on for another year, and he :faint:. Just kidding! he is amazing! I have been feeling so badly about my house, hw there is no really good cooking, etc and he just laughed and told me that he will live on sandwiches which he loves! But..............we had a good dinner on Sunday and I was feeling guilty when he told me he wished he was still hungry so he could eat more :)

I am watching my little Princesses today. Welby threw her back out and is in bed. Her DH did not want to go to work and leave her alone but she insisted. I'll check on her after Rylee gets up, and I think her DH is coming home early, neither one of them thinks I am strong enough to help her up ;)

Ellen- Matthew is very fortunate to have a job lined up. It is very scary to be job hunting now. We are fortunate that we can live on my husbands income and supplement with my seasonal income but I haven't been able to find a year round job and I've been looking for a while now. Since I don't "need" a year round job I can be a bit picky, but it's still discouraging. The only jobs around here are nursing and construction- I would stink equally at either one of those!

Nancy- the extra year will go by before you know it. My only regret from college is my limited degree.

Gotta go pick up the kiddo.

Hi, all! Sorry I haven't been around for a couple of days. It's just been too nice to be inside! However, that's about to change. Just like Ellen, we are in for more winter weather. No snow, but a heavy frost. I'm guessing we'll lose our pears and plums. Sigh! Mother Nature is having a good laugh, right about now!

It downright cold here tonight. Winter is definitely setting in for a spell. Been raining as well.

Life's busy with work and DS' activities and music practice. Most days, DH and I just flake out on the couch at night and then crash in bed. Anyone remember what life was like when we were all in our 20's??

No. :rotfl2: It was that long ago!
