In and Out in a Day

Hi, everyone! I'm popping back in. I've been out for a week with a pinched nerve in my back/shoulder. It happened last Tuesday and I've been flat on my back since then. Monday was the first day I could even get out of bed for any length of time!

How are you today?

I am decompressing, no homework tonight. Dinner is read to pop into the ove, roasted chicken legs, mashed turnip and carrots, cucumber and onions salad and a warm winter lemon cake. YUM!

I am sitting in front of the fire, wine in hand. Winter storm on the horizon. Need one more glass of wine!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Morning, all! I'm feeling much better, lately. I still get twinges in my neck when I turn my head too far or too fast, but at least I can get out of bed and function! I'm heading out to bowling in a little while, and we'll see how that goes!

First of all, though, I get to take Timmy and the twins to the elementary school for the annual "Heroes and Hotcakes" breakfast. We all take books and read while eating a pancake breakfast that the school provides. It's a lot of fun!

Not sure what we'll do for dinner. My SIL's son eloped last month, and tomorrow they are coming into town for an open house. We are spending the afternoon, helping my SIL decorate and set up for that. Tomorrow night we'll help out with the open house, so if I want a date night with Alan, it better be tonight! I'll let you all know how that turns out!

Morning all, sorry I haven't been around. I've been busy having an awesome time in disney. I'll be home in a few hours. See you then.

Morning, all! Happy Monday!

It's really cold here, again! I thought we were supposed to get an early spring this year. Darn groundhog! Good thing I don't have to be outside for very long today!

On my agenda is grocery shopping, and laundry. I know, you are all jealous of the glamorous life I lead!

On a positive note, we are getting a Yorkshire Terrier!!! My friend has to move into an apartment that won't allow dogs, and she asked us to take her baby. Tinkerbell is 8 years old, housebroken, and just wants to sit on a lap and be adored. Timmy is ready, willing, and able to fulfill those duties! He's just beside himself. Hopefully we'll get to pick her up sometime this week.

I think a tuna casserole is what's for dinner tonight!

Morning girls - going to jump back in.

I am finally back at work. I had last Tuesday and Wednesday off as I was babysitting the boys. Oh the fun we had. It started snowing on Wednesday at about 10am. Jay and Elizabeth had gone to Denver for the Celtics game. When they got up they decided to get on the road right away as the weather was getting bad. They got home around 2 pm, just in time. We got about 15" of snow between Wednesday and Thursday night. Schools were closed for Thursday and Friday and with them closed, the Church was closed also. So I had a nice week!! Had to come in on Saturday to get the bulletins ready and Sanctuary ready, but that didn't take but a couple of hours. We kind of hibernated the rest of the time. Church yesterday and then the Oscars last night. We got another 4" last night. I was kind of glad to get back to work today.

Kat ~ Hugs my dear friend. :flower3:

Robin ~ I must have mised you were in Disney. Hope you had a wonderful time.

Nan ~ I wish I could join you with a glass of wine by the fire. How is school going?

Glynis ~ Oh neck and back pain are no fun. Were you able to bowl on friday?
Oh a new puppy (even if she is 8) will be so much fun. I bet Timmy is on cloud nine.

PIO & Becky ~ :wave2:

WFDT ~ Pot Roast in the crockpot, with carrots and potatoes and gravy when I get home, green salad and hot tea.

Make it a great day!!

I am so glad you had a great weekend! You needed to relax with your Babies!
School is okay in general but Algebra is not going well. i went to the tutor again and left worse than when I went in. I am pn my second glass of wine! It was that bad. I sure wish you could join me!

Glynis- you are going to love your new furry friend! Enjoy her!

We had such a nice weekend. We had dinner Saturday night with our good friends, buddy's boss and his wife. I always leave there feeling so special!

i need an idea. next weekend we are going to Bud's bosses 60th birthday dinner and need a present. I usually get a gift certificate to a restaurant for a gift but I am not sure I want to do this for him. Any ideas"

 Hi everyone. Super busy at work and I finally bit the bullet. DH and I had a chat at the weekend. For the next 3 or 4 weeks, I'll be back at work 5 days a week in order to get this project ticking along. If things go to plan, I'll get time of in lieu at the end.

Otherwise, my life is subsumed by work right now. Did I mention work?

Busy woman! Try not to burn out, you have a lot on your plate!

PIO - take it a little easy! We don't want you to burn out!!!

Nancy - I can sympathize with you on the school thing! Especially the Algebra! I didn't do so well in that subject when I was younger, I can't imagine trying to figure it all out again! Enjoy the wine! You deserve it!!

My neck/shoulder/back are all doing much better this week. I do get twinges occasionally, but it's not at all bad! I was able to bowl on Friday, which was fun. It wasn't a 200 game, but I doubt I'll get another one of those anytime soon!

Today I get to continue my quest to bring down Mount Washmore! Towels, today, I think. We're running seriously low. Since it snowed all night, again, I really don't want to venture out, so Timmy and I will hunker down with laundry and movie watching.

Dinner tonight will be chicken enchilada soup with cornbread muffins.

How about Movie passes or if he is a golfer a tee time and 18 holes at a favorite Country Club. One of your bottles of wine would be great too with some beautiful glasses from Welby. Just some thoughts.
I wish Matthew was closer, he is a wiz at all Math. He has done a bit of tutoring. He could help you!!

PIO ~ You reminded me of me. Don't drag it out and just get it done. You will feel so much better when it is finished. Take care.

Glynis ~ glad you are feeling better.

The sun is finally shining this morning, but it is very cold. The radio just said that we have warmed up to 8 degrees. Burrrrrrrr!! This is when I am glad I have an inside job.

Matthew started his last class this morning. :cool1: And yesterday I finally paid off his tuition bill. Girls, I am doing the happy dance here this morning. Broke but still happy!!

Maybe now I can start saving for a trip to Disney. It has been 3 years this year since I have been and that is just way to long. We all are planning on running the Princess Half next year. The babies will be older and so much fun. We are just starting to get things together to start planning. We shall see.

WFDT ~ Stuffed shells, green salad and garlic bread.

Make it a great day!!

Morning all, sorry I haven't been around. I've been busy having an awesome time in disney. I'll be home in a few hours. See you then.

Fun! I hope you had a great trip.

On a positive note, we are getting a Yorkshire Terrier!!!!

How exciting! The kids must be over the moon.

Not too much has been going on around here. It has been kind of quiet.

WFD: cod chowder and popovers.

Ellen- you didn't miss me saying we were going to disney, it's not something I'm comfortable posting on such a public forum until after I'm home. I hope you are able to do the princess marathon, my cousin Judy did it on Sunday and she loved it.

Glynis- congratulations on the new pup, there's nothing like coming home to a wagging tail. No matter how your day goes its impossible not to smile when your pup greets you. We picked up our dog from the kennel this morning and he went crazy!

PIO- sorry you have so much on your plate.

Nancy- I love Ellen's gift idea. Does welby make glasses?

We had an amazing vacation. This was our shortest disney trip, we used to do 2-3 weeks, but this trip was 8 1/2 days and just as much fun as our longer trips. We also drove and that went really well but I've had enough of the car for a while! Off to make dinner and a big salad, we always crave veggies after disney.

Afternoon Ladies,

Becky ~ Quiet is good. I would give anything for quiet right now. ::yes::

Robin ~ Welcome home!! Glad you had a great time.
I agree about the pups. The best part of my day sometimes is when I get home and Cooper is there to greet me. He is always so excited!!

Ok ladies here I go again-------------I need your heavy duty prayers. At 12:30am I got a call (you know the ones a Mother never wants in the middle of the night) that Liam (hes 14 months old) was having trouble breathing and they were rushing him to the ER, could I come over and stay with Ethan. We live North of town and I was out of bed, dressed and into their house in under 10 minutes. He had calmed down, but you could tell he was struggling. Elizabeth said that during his bath earlier in the evening he was playing and swallowed some water, well he didn't swallow it, we found out, but asperated it into his lungs. He coughed and spit but seemed ok until about midnight, he woke up really sturggling to breath. They have kept him overnight and then this morning he spiked a temp so he is staying another night. They are pumping him with antibotics and tylenol. The fever is down but they are still keeping him another night just to make sure the lungs clear and breathing gets better. Poor baby. Please send your prayers and good thoughts to him and his Parents and brother Ethan. We know he will be alright, but darn it is so scary. With Pastor Tess away I can't leave till after services tonight but as soon as they are finished I am going to the Hospital. Thanks a bunch. I will keep you updated.

WFDT ~ 2nd Lenten dinner - Pulled pork sandwiches, baked beans, chips and brownies.

Make it a great day!!

Ellen - Prayers sent your way! How scary! It's so hard to see the little ones like that!

We may get our Tinkerbell on Friday! Dad has to drive up and could possibly drop her off if our schedules can match up. Cross your fingers for us. I think Timmy will go nuts if he doesn't get his hands on her soon!

Dinner tonight is a pasta bake. Jacob has Scouts, Katie has her church youth group, and the rest of us are chillin'!

Ellen- :grouphug: Poor little guy.

Physical therapy is going good and my knee is much better. I have also been going to the gym and it's helped a lot. Now if I can just get Weight Watchers started again, as stick to it, I'll be really doing good. :thumbsup2

Yesterday when I got home I had a package from Omaha Steaks :confused3. Opened it to find a bottle of steak seasoning and a letter from our mortgage company apologizing for taking so long with our refinance and a gift certificate for a choice of about 8 different dinners. :cheer2:

Ellen - :grouphug:

Marilyn - Glad that you PT is going well. Sounds like you need to enjoy your dinner gift vouchers first before getting back on the WW wagon.

I'm so excited!!!! We get our new baby today!!! My dad is delivering her between 3 and 4 this afternoon! Timmy is so happy, I think he's going to burst. If you want to see a picture of our little Tinkerbell, check out my timeline on facebook. Her owner posted a picture of her all bathed and ready for the trip!

As for dinner???? Who knows! I think we're all going to be too busy loving on Tink to worry about eating!

Ellen, how is Liam doing? Better I hope.

Glynis, congratulations on the new addition to the family!

Marilyn, I am glad that your knee is doing better.

Do any of you ladies have a fitbit? John and I got them a couple of weeks ago, and I have to tell you, I am obsessed! Obsessed with beating him in every category, that is :rotfl: I really find it motivating. I have definitely amped up my physical exercise since I got it. I got a badge a couple of days ago saying I had walked 50 miles! If anyone is looking for a jumpstart to get moving, I highly recommend you look into it. I guess there are online groups for it where you can compete against others for fitness goals, but for now I am content to just compete against John. I need to lose a couple (ahem, OK maybe more than a couple!) of pounds and I think the fitbit might help do the trick.

WFD: I have no idea! John and I are going food shopping after work.

Hoping to hear some good news on little Liam.

Glynis- there are going to be so many smiles at you house tonight!

Becky- a fit bit turned up in the lost and found at my work. I still feel bad for tossing it, I thought it was just a pedometer. If my husband and I were competing to lose weight I would be so skinny! Of course he needs to gain weight so I have plenty of tempting foods around.

Hi Kathy!
