In and Out in a Day

Hey lassies, I have read back and youse all seem busy and well.

I dont have anything to add, I just wanted to make sure youse are all good.

Vicks x

Lauren – Your Sangria sounds great. Glad to hear you had a good time at the piano bar!

Aimee – I hope you enjoyed your birthday dinner and were able to navigate those stairs.

Robin –Hoping your internet comes back soon. I go crazy when mine is down.

Vickie – Glad you checked in. We’re really going to miss seeing you next month.

WFD - Roast beef po-boys and baked sweet potato fries.

Okay....I started to do some back reading and was going to comment back to everyone...and then I realised I had over 4 pages worth of commenting to do. I could do with that "like" button too.

That cough won't go away; but I'm feeling so much better now. Sadly, after 2 days of promising warmth with temps in the high 60's/low 70's, we've now gone back to winter again.

The house has been really quiet for the last 2 nights. DS is away on school camp and will be back tomorrow. It's been nice to have quality time with DH....and decent conversations.....but we're both pausing every 20 seconds or so; expecting to be interrupted by *someone*.

It's the little moments like this that make you realise how much kids actually weave themselves into your soul.

DH and I went out for dinner tonight. It was nice to have a meal at "adult" pace for a change. :)

Have a great day all.

A quick check in Ive been reading but not much to say.

Hi my dear Friend...xx

So far I’ve lost 5 lbs in 11 days!:cool1:

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Awesome!

Lauren- did you have a good time?

So thank God for Marisa! I have no idea what I would have done this week without her. I am not used to having to rely on anyone and this week was tough. I lost all last weekend and the week was hard with only on hand. And then I struggled a lot with that darn spreadsheet class. She came over to help me last night,
Clearly-my children got some of their skills not from me :lmao:

Awesome time! Its great that the both of you are going to school! Hope you continue to feel better. Did you call the dr?

We had such a nice weekend.

Sounds perfect!

As for the weight loss, it’s so much harder than it was four years ago when I dropped 35 lbs. The older I get, the harder it is. I’m eating 1000 calories a day and working out at the gym 5 days a week for 2 hours a day and it’s finally, slowly coming off.

:rolleyes1 I need to get your motivation! Go girl!!!

Tonight we are going to a local tapas type place for my bday dinner with another couple. I'm super excited! This restaurant also is on the 2nd floor, with no elevator, so this will be a big adventure for me to climb that many stairs. I can do it!!

Sounds fun! Hope you made out ok getting up the stairs.

without internet at home, hope to be back soon- I haven't forgotten you all!

Hi!

I dont have anything to add, I just wanted to make sure youse are all good.

Hi!

Lauren – Your Sangria sounds great. Glad to hear you had a good time at the piano bar!

It was the best!

Dang! I hope that cough goes away soon. Have you tried mucinex? Not sure if they have that there but I am sure at this point, youve tried about everything.

Glad you're enjoying adult time!

GLYNIS, I thought I quoted you. Sounds like you had an awesome weekend too. Glad Katie is having so much fun too!

*******
Dinner tonight is fish, fries and corn. Tom is not going to be home so we have fish since he does not like it. Andrew picked the menu. I may just have a salad with it.

Have a great day. I am going to clean the linen closet before I have to take T to school. Sounds like fun right? lol

Kat- I am so glad that you are feeling better! THere is a lot going around and some of those bugs are nasty!

Lauren- I love sangria!

Robin- No internet

The girls, Timmy and I had a fun Saturday evening. We went out to eat, then rented a movie. At the last minute, Katie got invited to a party, so she went to hang out with her friends. She's really come out of her shell this year! Hooray!!!

I am so happy to hear that Katie is blossoming! She is a lovely girl and deserves to be self confident. High School can be difficult for shy kids,

We had such a nice weekend. But of course it went way to fast. Even Matthew made the remark that on Thursday he was so excited for us all to get there and now it's over. But we really did have fun!! We even won the ball game. :cheer2: Yesterday we went down into the Hay Market for sushi. Oh my goodness it was wonderful. Then we walked to the Creamery for dessert. YUM!! We kept walking as it was a beautiful day. Ended up being down there for over 3 hours. Ended the day sitting outside at a Starbucks for a nice cup of coffee. It was a wonderful afternoon.

I hate it when the weekends fly by but don't you think that time is racing lately?

Tonight we are going to a local tapas type place for my bday dinner with another couple. I'm super excited! This restaurant also is on the 2nd floor, with no elevator, so this will be a big adventure for me to climb that many stairs. I can do it!!

I think I missed your birthday, I am so sorry! Happy Belated birthday Aimee! I know those stairs did not stop you!

It's the little moments like this that make you realise how much kids actually weave themselves into your soul.

.

Double edged sword. :hug

So the hand dr called back and will check me on Thursday. Then he will decide if I need a neuro surgeon or a shoulder specialist. :faint: I do nto have time for this!

Last night we had home made soup that Welby made. I kept her girls Friday night so the two of them could go to a wedding. Both were sick all night and yesterday Rylee was still feeling terrible. Buddy came home sick yesterday so Welby shared her chicken soup.

Buddy told me last night that one of the little Dickens sneezed in his face and that must have been the culprit. I asked him if all the kisses and hugs and sharing their toast and climbing all over him like he was a jungle jim might have anything to do with it....................No. It was the sneeze ;)

Lauren - Thanks. Yes, I've pretty much tried everything. Sadly, it just won't go away. And I'm not the only one in town like this. Seems like about 15% of Melbourne has had a cough all winter.

Nancy - Glad to see you back on the Dis and that the hand is improving.

{With that mom face.....} Nancy Louise....YES. You do have time for this. If the doctor says that's what you need, then you need to get yourself in there to get that limb all better.

Morning. It's so great to come on and have a couple of pages to catch up on!!! Just like old times!

Nancy - I agree with PIO! You make time for whatever the doctor says! You need to get that all fixed up!!! Don't make us worry, now!

PIO - Same thing goes for your cough! Don't let it get so bad that you bruise or break a rib! I've done that, and it's no fun!

Kat - Congrats on the weight loss! I need to get motivated again. Things have been too static around here, lately!

Lauren - Sounds like your company was a lot of fun! Sorry about T climbing into your bed. Timmy was like that for a while, after he got his big boy bed. It's getting less and less, and I kind of miss it. He's been such a snuggle bug!

Becky - It's so good to see you posting! Tell Laura we miss her and would love to have her pop in, once in a while. I hope everything is going well for her and the kids.

Ellen - Sounds like the perfect weekend! I'll cross my fingers for another one this coming weekend!

Ladies - I need some prayers, good thoughts, pixie dust... whatever you can spare. My brother is in the hospital and the doctors cannot figure out what's wrong with him. About a week and a half ago, he was loading a stray dog (he's the animal control officer) into his truck and it got all wild and kicked him, breaking a couple of ribs. Later that week he developed a bad headache and flu like symptoms. This past weekend, the headache hadn't gone away, and he was in bed from Friday afternoon until Sunday night. So NOT like my tough, cowboy brother!

Sunday night my dad and SIL took him to the ER. They ran a whole battery of tests (CAT scan, MRI, spinal tap, urine test, blood work, etc.), and ruled out anything bacterial. At this point, they don't know what they are dealing with. His head hurts constantly, and no pain medication is touching it.

Based on his work, and the fact that he spends all his spare time fixing up the cabin he just bought, the doctors think he may have one of three things: West Nile virus, Hanta virus, or viral meningitis. They are leaning more toward the meningitis diagnosis, but aren't sure.

Anyway, none of those 3 are good things! We've had 4 deaths from Hanta virus here in the west in the last couple of months, so that's scary. And meningitis is scary at any time! If you've got any prayers to spare for my brother Addison, I'd really appreciate it! He's got 3 little kids (ages 10, 8, and 5), and they really need him!

Thanks!

A quick in and out for me today!

Glynis Sending prayers your way. How horrible not knowing.

I am trying to budget in a WDW trip next year, since Disney is giving DVC members such a great discount on ticket prices.

No idea yet on dinner. I am just trying to get through this day :faint:

Out for now

Hi girlies,

Glynis ~ Prayers are heading your way. That is very scary about your brother. Any of the 3 would worry me so please know I am holding him very close.
Please let us know what more we can do.

Robin ~ Hope your internet is back soon.

Aimee ~ Happy Belated Birthday!!! {{{where is that hanging the head smiley}}} I hope your birtthday was as special as you are my friend.

PIO ~ It is good to hear you are enjoying your special time with your DH. Now please take care of that cough.

Nan ~ Oh sweetie. Now I am worried about your hand. I agree with Kat, it is at times like these I wish I didn't live 1/2 a country away from you. I would be there to help out in a nano second. Please do as the Dr. says.

Kat ~ I am so darn proud of you. You go girl!!

Lauren ~ I can't believe T is already in a big boy bed. Just remember these times won't last forever. Matthew slept with us for quite a long time. He now has his own apartment 2 1/2 hours away. ;)

Janice ~ How exciting a trip to WDW. I haven't been in over 2 years. :crazy2: And we are really missing it. Our next BIG one will be in 2013. The kids and I are doing the Princess. It will be a perfect time for the babies also. They will both be 2.

Yesterday was a very sad day for our family. We got word that Doug's Uncle Kenny passed. Uncle Kenny was in poor health but was a shock non the less. We had always thought Aunt Norma would go first. Then last night we got word that Doug's BIL's brother passed. Gary gave Doug his first job on the farm. They were very close so that was sad news.

Then to top the day off - Doug (finally) went to the Doctor and he has shingles. Poor guy. He is in a LOT of pain. I almost had to threaten divorce just to get him to go - MEN!!!:furious: But now he is glad he went. Nerve medicine and pain management will be in his future for awhile. This is one man who never EVER complains - I feel so sorry for him. If you all could spare a few prayers we would really appreciate them.

WFDT ~ Subways on my way home from work. I have BUNCO tonight. So it has to be fast and easy cleanup.

Make it a great day!!

Oh Glynis! I just don't even know what to say other than I am offering prayers for his speedy recovery. You all must be so worried.

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now breathe!

!

Oh Ellen, I am so very sad for your family. I know that some folks say that you can prepare for a loss but I don't believe it, they stun you. I can understand how Doug feels though, just too much to absorb. I will hold you all close and hope that the meds help Doug's pain.

Buddy is sleeping on the couch and I see he was into Welby's sup so I think we will have bacon and eggs for dinner.

Nancy Louise signing out!

Oh, I'm sorry that cough is still lingering. :(

BOO. Glad you heard from him. Update us when you see him!

Oh no... I hate the "no answer" diagnosis. I hope that changes soon!

I'm so sorry :(

I made it up those stairs last night! Dinner was fab and so worth the effort.

I have a dinner tonight at church so another late night...

Ellen - I'm so sorry about all the losses! You and Doug are in my prayers! I'm also sorry about the shingles! That illness seems to be making a huge comeback lately. I've known 5 men in our neighborhood who have had shingles in the last year. Not fun! It's really painful. Wish I could come help out! I have a feeling you may need a break!

Take care!

PIO – It’s always nice to have the kiddos gone but we sure do miss them quickly. Glad you’re feeling better!

Lauren – Your trip is getting so close, you ready to run??? I’ll be cheering you from afar!:cheer2:

Nancy Louise – I’ll be praying you don’t need another procedure BUT you need to do whatever is needed my friend. Had to lol at Buddy…it was the SNEEZE!!

Glynis – Of course I’ll be praying for Addison. Hopefully it won’t be any of the three listed as possibilities and will be something that can be cured relatively quick. I’ll be praying for the family, those babies need him!

Janice – Can you do October in WDW?????? Food & Wine and all of us would be so much fun!!!

Ellen – I am so sorry for the losses your family has suffered in such a short period of time. It’s tough to experience one much less two. Prayers for all and for poor Doug. I’ve heard shingles can be very painful.

Aimee – Yay! So glad you were able to get up those stairs!

It feels SO GOOD to come here daily and be able to pray for, help and chat with each one of you.:grouphug:

Good Morning! In for a bit!

Kat- I am so happy to see you here! You have no idea how much I have missed you :cool1:

Ellen- I hope that Doug is feeling better, I cannot remember how long it takes for the meds to kick in but I do remember how painful Shingles is. Buddy's dad was in the hospital being treated for cancer and all of the side effects that went along with that. He ended up with shingles and that was worse for him than all the rest. I am continuing to hold you all closely!

Aimee- I knew you would do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so glad you are really on the mend!

Janice- I would love to hear you are joining Kat in October! Marisa and i keep talking about how much fun it would be to go to F&W with the DIS gals!

Glynis - I hope your brother is getting better and that the doctors have a diagnosis so that they can help him. Prayers already on your way.

Janice - That's exciting news about a WDW trip next year. Do you know when? I'm planning on being there in early October....and am frantically trying to save as much as possible.

Ellen - So sorry to ready your very sad news about Uncle Kenny and Doug's shingles. I have and will be praying for you all too.

Nancy - Hope you're taking care of yourself too.

Aimee - Happy Belated Birthday! Sounds like good stair(master) progress for you. :thumbsup2

Kat - Did I see you mention October 2013? I think I might be there from 2 - 8 October....doing a Dismeet with a couple of Dissers from the Games board.

Well, DS is home today. All his clothes and shoes were caked in mud. Seems like they had a good time with all the activities and food sounded great too. It was really nice to see him and hear about all his trip.

It's Wednesday here....so it was dinner at mum's.

Have a good day all.

Good Morning,

Glynis, praying for Addison. I hope they find out what is wrong and its not one of the more serious diagnoses. Hugs.

Ellen, I am so very sorry for your losses. Also, I hope Doug feels better soon. I hear shingles are painful and sometimes linger.

Not sure about dinner. Maybe a hamburger thing that is smothered in onion gravy. Another Pinterest pin.

I will try and BBL. I amnot awake yet! Have a good one friends!

Good morning!

PIO - We've been going to WDW every October for five years now. We haven't looked at dates for 2013 yet but it would be great if we were there at the same time!!:cool1:

WFD - I found a great, healthy pulled pork recipe for tacos that we all love. It's a pork tenderloin and it's done in the crock pot! I'll make a chipotle slaw and refried black beans with it.

bbl.....

Good Morning!

The sun is blinding this time of year. Good thing it is only a bother for a couple of weeks. Then it is not in my eyes driving in in the mornings.

I was thinking about a trip in the summer with Mr A before he starts College but maybe if I am really good at cutting corners I can do 2 small trips :scratchin

I'll try to be back later

PIO- I am so glad that your DS had a great time. It is a sad thing that in order to prove it kids come home caked in mud! Years ago when Dan was about 8 or so he and Buddy's young cousin went with Bud. He raised dairy replacements and had a huge silage pile for the winter months. Now it has snowed and the boys saw MOUNTAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The cows were enclosed and honestly, there was runoff down into the field where the pile was located. Buddy let teh kids loose while he did chores and had a ball..............sliding down the frozen snowey hill into melted dirty snow. :crazy2: Buddy has come close to death with me on a few occasions but he should have been praying :duck: that day when he brought those filthy boys home. :furious: I wanted to murder him!

Janice- I wanted to squeeze in an extra trip a few years back. Free dining and a good airfare price and I got a short trip in with Kady.

Oh well, Donny will be here soon, he needs to take his car tot eh shop and wants to kill time here. I love a nice chat with him!
