A quick check in Ive been reading but not much to say.
So far Ive lost 5 lbs in 11 days!
Hope everyone is having a great weekend!
Lauren- did you have a good time?
So thank God for Marisa! I have no idea what I would have done this week without her. I am not used to having to rely on anyone and this week was tough. I lost all last weekend and the week was hard with only on hand. And then I struggled a lot with that darn spreadsheet class. She came over to help me last night,
Clearly-my children got some of their skills not from me![]()
We had such a nice weekend.
As for the weight loss, its so much harder than it was four years ago when I dropped 35 lbs. The older I get, the harder it is. Im eating 1000 calories a day and working out at the gym 5 days a week for 2 hours a day and its finally, slowly coming off.
Tonight we are going to a local tapas type place for my bday dinner with another couple. I'm super excited! This restaurant also is on the 2nd floor, with no elevator, so this will be a big adventure for me to climb that many stairs. I can do it!!
without internet at home, hope to be back soon- I haven't forgotten you all!
Hey lassies, I have read back and youse all seem busy and well.
I dont have anything to add, I just wanted to make sure youse are all good.
Vicks x
Lauren Your Sangria sounds great. Glad to hear you had a good time at the piano bar!
Okay....I started to do some back reading and was going to comment back to everyone...and then I realised I had over 4 pages worth of commenting to do. I could do with that "like" button too.
That cough won't go away;
The house has been really quiet for the last 2 nights.
It's the little moments like this that make you realise how much kids actually weave themselves into your soul.
DH and I went out for dinner tonight. It was nice to have a meal at "adult" pace for a change.![]()
The girls, Timmy and I had a fun Saturday evening. We went out to eat, then rented a movie. At the last minute, Katie got invited to a party, so she went to hang out with her friends. She's really come out of her shell this year! Hooray!!!
We had such a nice weekend. But of course it went way to fast. Even Matthew made the remark that on Thursday he was so excited for us all to get there and now it's over. But we really did have fun!! We even won the ball game.Yesterday we went down into the Hay Market for sushi. Oh my goodness it was wonderful. Then we walked to the Creamery for dessert. YUM!! We kept walking as it was a beautiful day. Ended up being down there for over 3 hours. Ended the day sitting outside at a Starbucks for a nice cup of coffee. It was a wonderful afternoon.

So the hand dr called back and will check me on Thursday. Then he will decide if I need a neuro surgeon or a shoulder specialist.I do nto have time for this!
{With that mom face.....} Nancy Louise....YES. You do have time for this. If the doctor says that's what you need, then you need to get yourself in there to get that limb all better.
Ladies - I need some prayers, good thoughts, pixie dust... whatever you can spare.
Anyway, none of those 3 are good things! We've had 4 deaths from Hanta virus here in the west in the last couple of months, so that's scary. And meningitis is scary at any time! If you've got any prayers to spare for my brother Addison, I'd really appreciate it! He's got 3 little kids (ages 10, 8, and 5), and they really need him!
Thanks!
I am trying to budget in a WDW trip next year, since Disney is giving DVC members such a great discount on ticket prices.
Yesterday was a very sad day for our family. We got word that Doug's Uncle Kenny passed. Uncle Kenny was in poor health but was a shock non the less. We had always thought Aunt Norma would go first. Then last night we got word that Doug's BIL's brother passed. Gary gave Doug his first job on the farm. They were very close so that was sad news.
Then to top the day off - Doug (finally) went to the Doctor and he has shingles. Poor guy. He is in a LOT of pain. I almost had to threaten divorce just to get him to go - MEN!!!But now he is glad he went. Nerve medicine and pain management will be in his future for awhile. This is one man who never EVER complains - I feel so sorry for him. If you all could spare a few prayers we would really appreciate them.
!
That cough won't go away; but I'm feeling so much better now. Sadly, after 2 days of promising warmth with temps in the high 60's/low 70's, we've now gone back to winter again.

Ladies - I need some prayers, good thoughts, pixie dust... whatever you can spare. My brother is in the hospital and the doctors cannot figure out what's wrong with him. About a week and a half ago, he was loading a stray dog (he's the animal control officer) into his truck and it got all wild and kicked him, breaking a couple of ribs. Later that week he developed a bad headache and flu like symptoms. This past weekend, the headache hadn't gone away, and he was in bed from Friday afternoon until Sunday night. So NOT like my tough, cowboy brother!
Sunday night my dad and SIL took him to the ER. They ran a whole battery of tests (CAT scan, MRI, spinal tap, urine test, blood work, etc.), and ruled out anything bacterial. At this point, they don't know what they are dealing with. His head hurts constantly, and no pain medication is touching it.
Based on his work, and the fact that he spends all his spare time fixing up the cabin he just bought, the doctors think he may have one of three things: West Nile virus, Hanta virus, or viral meningitis. They are leaning more toward the meningitis diagnosis, but aren't sure.
