In and Out in a Day

Ellen- I knew you would understand! My Erica is very easy-going. My Dan is as well..........up to a point. Well Dan is furious that she would even say that they were not "meme's grandchildren" but Erica had never in ten years seen that side of him. He just said "Okay." and walked away so she thought that he thought she was overreacting........(she did the worst thing my DDIL could think of and resigned from the games they play ;)) but when Marisa told me I thought "oh oh." Dan is like Buddy, if he stops talking it is not a good sign. Erica told me today he finally told her how furious he is and she was :scared: I think that she should just have told me she regretted what she waid but she did not and does not.

VIckie and Janice Sweet Dreams???????????? or not.....................Hmmmmmm

U BET I understand!! That is just so wrong on all accounts. I also understand wishing you hadn't said something. Sometimes I don't tell Doug because I know what he would do. If you think I am protective - Doug is lethal. You just don't DON'T mess with family. Your SIL was wrong and I am so proud of you for being done. I don't say that lightly, but there comes a time that you just have to be finished or the hurt, pain, and anger will do you in. And that is not good!! Call if/when you want to vent. I really do understand!!

Vicki & Janice ~ Man oh man I would give anything to have dreams like the 2 of you. :rotfl2:

Lauren ~ Bless Tom's heart. I bet it was hard in Arlington yesterday. He is a good son for stopping.

I hope Andrew enjoyed the gym and Thomas has fun at camp. That is so neat that they have that for the little ones. I have always said that our Fitness Center would get more involved if there was care for the little ones. I know that is what holds Elizabeth back. She would love to do more of the classes but there is no daycare.

I loved water aerobics last night, but wow I hurt this morning. It was harder than I thought it would be. I even worked up a sweat. But it was a nice night out and we got to swim a bit when we were finished so it was nice. The water really helps with the pounding of the bones. Know what I mean? :rotfl2:

Out for now!!

I’ve missed a ton here, have to go back and catch up. Been in a funk this week and very busy.

Glynis – I’m so sorry to hear your little one had food poisoning, poor guy. I’ve had it twice in my life and it’s awful.

Lauri – Congrats to Brandon on the job!

Lauren – Glad to hear T is loving his swing set!

Julie – Glad to hear your trip was a good one!

Ellen – Don’t be silly, you’re a great friend!

Nan – I don’t blame you one bit for walking away. That would have been the last straw for me!

Vickie – You made my week, I haven’t laughed this hard in a long time!!!! I had all of y’all fooled with my recipes and cooking, huh?? Fortunately you have a while before the beer pong days!

Hope to be back later...

Morning, all. Sorry I dropped away for a while. Alan took the week off work, so we've been doing projects around the house in the morning, and then fun stuff in the afternoon. However, having him home really eats into my free time!

Things here are doing ok. I just got Katie off to her first church camp of the summer. It's only an overnighter, so she'll be back tomorrow night. However, I'm looking forward to a rest from all the drama she creates.

Jacob is my sweetheart! He's getting ready to start band camp on Monday. He's going to start learning the trumpet, and he's so excited. I hope my ears are up to it!

Leslie and Mary are just the same. Excited that school is out, and full of plans for us all summer long. Don't know how many we'll get to, but the plans are done!

Timmy has come down with some kind of upper respiratory thing. He's coughing like a maniac! He can't take cough medicine, as it makes him throw up, so I'm slathering him with vaporub hoping it will help. It seems to, for a while. Depending on how things go today, a trip to the doctor for a shot may be in order. We'll see.

Alan also has the upper respiratory thing. He's on an antibiotic for it, though. Hopefully it will clear up before he has to leave for London on July 15. Cross your fingers.

As for the job/house... things are kind of in limbo. When they first approached Alan, his bosses were all for getting him moved quickly. However, it looks like things have slowed down, somewhat. Alan sees that as a positive sign. There were several other photographers that interviewed for the job, that would have been able to make the move immediately, while Alan would need to wait until the end of the year, at the earliest. He thinks that the fact that they are stalling on making the decision means they can wait for a full time photographer until December. We're crossing our fingers! Several things have happened in our neighborhood that have really made it clear that we need to move... FAST! So, keep the good thoughts and prayers coming!

Dinner tonight will be coconut chicken with jasmine rice and a sweet and sour sauce.

Hi girlies, I am in for a bit..............

Kat ~ Good to see you my friend. Hugs that you find a happy place soon.

Glynis ~ Prayers for an easy move and decision. Sounds like the kiddos have the summer planned. Hope Timmy and Alan feel better soon. Take care my friend.

Thank goodness it is Friday, and even though I only worked 4 days this week it has been long. Pastor Tess is at Annual Conference so the office has been SO quiet and slow.

I have the boys tomorrow as Jay and Elizabeth are going to a wedding. I want to take them swimming for a bit. I am really looking forward to my time with them tomorrow.

Have a great weekend everyone...............I am out!!

Quick "in"...

Have I been here since I finished work on Monday? :lmao:

Things have been SO busy here that I don't even know. I've been trying to read back and catch up!

I have to go back in to work this week for a 2-day workshop, and we have lots of other things planned this week, so this may be the last time I'm in until NEXT week. :sad2:

Monday is J's birthday. He's turning 16! :faint:

Today is UncleR and my 1 year wedding anniversary. We're celebrating tomorrow with some alone time! :cool1:

Then the rest of the week is booked!

 to you all! Miss everyone!

Jen - It's nice to see you again, around here! I understand how hectic the last few days of school are, and then to be sick on top of that... Wow! Happy anniversary to you and UncleR!!! Hope you are enjoying your alone time!

I just have to say that I tried the sweet and sour macaroni salad that you and Kat recommended. Holy Yum! That stuff is amazing! I took it to a family gathering this afternoon, and it was gone within minutes! Many people wanted the recipe, but I'm thinking I may hoard this one for a while... I enjoyed the praise!

Lazy day for me, today! Katie is doing her laundry and getting ready to go to another church camp, so I don't really have to do anything for a while! I'll check her packing in a bit, but right now, I'm just resting!

Later, we'll have hamburgers, potato salad and key lime magic cookie bars for dessert while we watch "The Karate Kid."

Hi gals,

Jen ~ Happy Anniversary and Happy Birthday to J. Sure hope you are feeling better.

Glynis ~ I am sure glad you are enjoying your "quiet" time. Lady, you don't get that luxury very often. ENJOY!!!

I can't believe the weekend is over already and that I am back at work. The other day Doug and I were talking and we have decided that we are busier now than we were when our kids were younger. Good grief. We should be slowing down............NOT!! Oh well keeps us young.

Make it a great day and I will be back in tomorrow.

WOW, where is everybody?

I have had a busy week.......payroll and bills to pay. I usually am swamped for those 2 days. So I have been absent myself.

We have been going to our States "Biggest" Rodeo - NebraskaLand Days. We went last night and will go again tonight, Friday and Saturday. We look forward to this all year. Actually there are activities all day for 2 weeks, with a HUGE parade on Saturday and will continue through next Saturday with the Toby Keith concert. North Platte is about 45 minutes East of us. We are having a great time. But it is suppose to really storm tonight. Doug will NOT wear his Mickey poncho, so he just might just get wet. Bahahahahahha!!!

Make it a great day!!

I'm here, just nothing new to report. We are well into our summer routine, so things are fine!

I'm trying to stock my freezer with meals for the kids while Alan and I are in London. Anyone got any kid-approved recipes for casseroles or dinners that will freeze well? Got my big freezer all defrosted last week, and now I need to get it stocked up! Thanks!

Hi everyone! I have not been here for a day or so and feel lost. Everything is about the same here but for some reason I am feeling frazzled. I think it is because I have not managed my time well and my house is really topsy-turvey.I have more "stuff" than Marisa and her house is always looking so put together. If I do not put everything away every day it looked like a heap. Today I bit the bullet and cleaned. I used to do this every day but since I am not working much I tend to do less and seem so much busier. I was told it is the DIS but I don't buy that. It is all Buddy's fault. That's my story and I am sticking to it :thumbsup2

BBL!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glynis – I continue to keep y’all in my prayers regarding the move. Hope your two guys are feeling better! So glad to hear you enjoyed the sweet & sour mac salad. I’ve been making that for 20 years and we still gobble it up!

Ellen – I hope you enjoyed your weekend with the boys! We often say the same thing about being busier now than when we were young…there’s something wrong with that, lol!

Jen – I hope Jon had a great bday and you & Uncle R enjoyed your anniversary. Thank you so much for the great blog on the mac salad!:thumbsup2

Nan – I feel the same way, it is not the DIS or Pinterest or Facebook or Twitter…it’s Johnny & Kyle, they are the reason my house is a mess!;)

It’s that time of year here, Kyle’s birthday was 10 days ago, Johnny’s birthday is today, Father’s Day is Sunday…….:upsidedow Also wanted to mention, for the first time in two years I believe there is a special young lady in my son's life. He's got that look and I couldn't be happier!!!

I miss y’all!!!!!

How about: Tator tot casserole, Snow on the Mountain (beef, beans etc. with potatoes on top), pulled beef, chicken pot pies, spagehetti sauce - for pasta or meatball sandwiches, Lazagna, meatloaf. These are things I try to keep in mine for those days I don't want to cook. Soups are always good too.

Wow, you will never know how much I miss you. So glad to see you pop in once in awhile. How are you feeling? I sure have been thinking about you.
Happy Birthday to Johnny!!
So happy for Kyle. That smile is one that makes everything ok. You know what I mean - right in the heart of a Momma. I so understand. It just makes it easier to breath. :woohoo:

Not much new here either. We are half way through our rodeo fun. Tonight will be night 3. We have had so much fun, but we don't get home till almost midnight and I am dragging this morning. This old gal is usually in be at 10. Tomorrow we are taking the boys with us. There is a HUGE parade at 1 and then the rodeo finale. I know Ethan will have a blast but I'm not so sure about Liam. Either he will love it or hate it. It is going to be a long day either way. :lmao:

Make it a great day my dear friends.

Good morning everyone - where are you all?

It is going to be another hot day today. It reached 98 yesterday and they are saying we could get over 100 today. My lawn is crumbling in this heat. We just can't get a hold on it.

We had a fun time at the rodeo with the boys. I was so glad it wasn't this hot on Saturday. There would have been no way Liam could have been out in it. Ethan and I played at the carnival before the action started. We had fun, but wow $20.00 doesn't last long these days. :rotfl2: :scared1:

Yesterday we just stayed inside. Went to breakfast after church then decided against golfing with the heat and the wind. The kids (Matthew called) came and brought dinner for Father's Day, so we ended up having a nice evening. I got to snuggle all of my grandbabies so I was a happy girl.

Hope you all have a great day!

Good morning! It's a beautiful day here!

Yesterday was a great day! The kids and I made breakfast for Alan, we went to Church, and then spent the rest of the day with Alan's family. It was so much fun! We had a huge barbecue, and tons of food! I love days like that!

Today we are cleaning up, getting ready for Jacob's band camp, and then later, a picnic with my sister and her kids! We'll end up with snow cones to cool off!

Tonight, Alan and I are going to see "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" for a late Father's Day/Anniversary treat! I can't wait! We are meeting up with friends of ours for dinner, so that will be fun! The kids will have spaghetti at home!

As for our prospective move... it's on hold, for now. Alan says that's a good thing. His feeling is that if "the powers that be" really wanted to move on this, they would hire someone else immediately. When last he talked to his bosses, they explained that they would rather keep things as they are, and revisit the question at the end of the year. Conveniently, that is the time that Alan would be available to move without it interfering with his schooling. So, we still have that on the horizon, but are still kind of in limbo with it. Frustrating, but that's what it is. I'm still spending my extra time, paring down our clutter, and getting rid of stuff we don't need/want/use anymore. If we move, that will help, and if we don't, it will still feel good to have less clutter around the house.

Holy Heat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I think you are sending it our way, the weather man said HOT HOT HOT for the next few day.

I am so glad you had a great time at the rodeo with your boys. I hear you on the money though! I have gone nowhere and have spent way too much going there. :confused3

It sounds like a wonderful few days for you! I am totally jealous about your show! I have wanted to see that one for quite some time now.

Glynis- I know that you are in limbo but what is frustrating for you is most probably a Blessing in disguise. Is sounds like Alan's employers are in no rush if waiting means they can give him the job that he wants. That says a great deal about how they feel about him. Keep your chin up and enjoy the Summer without having to think about packing, moving, shopping, and moving and packing..............

Well we had a nice weekend. The wedding was very nice with good food. Boring as all getout but way better than we had thought. I will say that my dearest Erica spotted every woman who should have left their dress on the hanger and chosen another one and promised me that she would never let me go out looking like that :goodvibes:lmao::rotfl::scared: And there were a few of them

Sunday was quiet here. I was lazy so I accomplished nothing. Good for me!!!!!!!!! Buddy spent the day at Daniels running an excavator to remove a hedgrow. Marisa and Kady came for dinner so that was nice.

We spent today running errands, Weighed in (Marisa is down 18 pounds!!!!!!!!!) shopped and now we are all ready to head to Mystic tomorrow. Marisa is coming because she must watch me like a hawk to make sure I stay away from goodies. Kady has graciously agreed to wait to go on an ice cream trail until Nana can be trusted not to eat the ice cream. In exchange we are taking her to the arcade in Mohegan Sun Casino. :woohoo:

Ellen- we will talk about that elusive $20 on Thursday.................

Morning Ladies,

Marisa ~ How is Yoda doing? I don't know why but I was thinking of her this morning. I sent you an email. Thanks in advance.

Nan ~ I hope you are having fun in Mystic. You all so deserve it!!

Glynis ~ Sounds like the move is still in the works. But just in a different time. Sometimes when we have setbacks they are really the best thing. I sure hope it all works out.

Lauren ~ Are you still doing Zumba?

Aimee ~ Are you still homeless? :rotfl2: No seriously, I pray you find something you love real soon.

I is another hot as he** day today. We reached over 100 yesterday, and that is just way to hot for me. I go from the church to home and never peek out. Tomorrow (the first day of summer) is suppose to be a bit better. :woohoo:

I have to share - a while back I asked for prayers for Elizabeth & Jay - well they have sold their house. They are moving to Kearney. They had first wanted to move to Gburg. which is about 45 miles to the west of us, but have decided to instead move to Kearney. This is only 35 miles east and in the same town that Stephanie and Marty live in. :cool1: I am one happy girl as they both will be in the same town. They are thrilled!! I am so going to miss seeing them everyday but this move is a good one all the way around.

And the job front for Matthew - He didn't get the job. :sad2: They did tell him he was their number one choice, but where he was still in school and not available 40 hours a week they had to say no. He/we completely understand. He still has his job and once he graduates in December he can be fully qualified for another position. Plus it would have required he move to Hickman - a tiny town of 250 people. He really wants to stay in Lincoln so all-in-all it probably was for the best. We will just have to wait and see.

Well there ya have it. Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers.

Make it a great day!!

Hey all! Busy day here. Katie got 2 cavities filled, and I took Jacob to the doctor for a strep test. It tested negative, but the doctor gave him a shot anyway, as there is a bacterial infection that is testing negative, going around. I'm glad he got the shot, since he leaves for Scout camp soon, and I didn't want to have to worry about him while he's there.

Dinner tonight is sweet and sour meatballs.

Good morning all,

Glynis ~ Poor Jacob. I sure hope hea starts to feel better soon.

We are going to the Toby Keith concert tonight. I can't wait. I have my red solo cup all ready. :lmao:

Tomorrow or tonight (if we aren't to tired) we are heading to Lincoln. Marty, Matthew and Doug are golfing in a benefit tournament for a cousin of Marty's who has cancer. Stephanie and I are cleaning Matthew's apartment - finally got rid of the terrible room mate - and then will join them for Dinner tomorrow night. On Sunday is Ethan's 8th birthday so we will be home by 6:00 for dinner.

Make it a great weekend everyone!!!

Can’t believe it’s been so long since I’ve checked in here! I’ll try and get caught up.

Nan & Ellen – Not only does my boy have a new gal he’s got a great new job! He’s the front desk attendant at a pretty ritzy country club’s golf & fitness center. Now for the bad news, he has torn something in his throwing arm and will go for an MRI next week. Coaches think it could possibly require surgery.:sad1:

Glynis – I can only imagine how frustrating it must be not knowing what’s going to happen with the move but I feel like it’s probably a good thing for it to be a slow process. Things happen for a reason, they say. Hugs, my friend. I hope Jacob is feeling better.

Nan – I am rotfl at Erica’s critiquing of the dresses worn at the wedding. She sounds like so much fun! Congrats to Marisa on losing 18 lbs! You are doing well too!! It’s much harder the older you are. I’m noticing how much harder it is to pull off a few compared to 4 years ago. It’s a difference like night & day! I hope y’all enjoyed Mystic!

Ellen – You must be so excited knowing that Elizabeth & Jay will be close by and right there with Stephanie & Marty. You couldn’t ask for any more!!! I’m sad Matthew didn’t get the job but it sounds like it was probably for the best.

I'm going to try and check in daily. Out for now.....
