I'm planning a trip for myself and my kids as well as for my bff and her 4 kids for 2011, preferably March. Everything was smooth sailing until...............I found out I'm pregnant! It's not really horrible news......just unexpected id all.

Anyways, everyone is super excited especially my BFF and her kids since it will be their first visit. I'm wondering if I should nix all plans and think 2012 or beyond  or if I should still stay the course. I'm not sure how I would handle a 2 1/2 year old and a 5 month old at the World. I'd have my then 13 year old to help out and my bff said her 2 oldest would help too but I don't know if it would be too much.

Has anyone ever took kids that close in age AND that young to WDW and how did that turn out? I'm so confused because we had the perfect places we wanted to eat and shows we wanted to see and now I'm second guessing.

Am I over guessing or am I right on target by worrying?:rotfl:

I didi it when mine were 3 mo and 2 and 1/2. I would highly recommend your own double where the little ones can nap and rest. They are easy at that age and sounds like you have plenty of help. The rest will be easy and you will have wonderful memories and pics.

I totally agree with the previous poster...5 months would be easy! On our first trip, my girls were 10 mths, 3 and 5. We also had my bil, his wife and therir 4-year old. The baby was the easiest to manage...too young to be afraid of characters, to want to get out and walk etc. I did bring a sling with me and carted her around in lines etc. (she got to ride a lot even though she doesn't remember!;)). My 13 year old niece was with us on that trip too and she was very helpful! We just made sure she had a couple of evenings out with her uncles on her own while we put the little ones to bed...she got lots of treats as "payment" for her help!:cheer2:

I day go for it!

I have a 2 1/2 yr old and a 6 mon old. We leave in a week and half to go to WDW for our first trip. I think you will be fine. Babies are easy at that age. Definitely get a carrier and a good stroller.

I have been to DLR multiple time with my DD2 when she was 14 months and under. It was the most difficult when she started walking because then she wanted out of the stroller to walk.

Congrats!

Thanks everyone. I'm not so much worried about the baby's age as I took my son on his first trip at 5 months old and it was a blast and easy with my daughter's help. My biggest concern is ripping my hair out trying to chase him around since he'll be 2 1/2 and will probably try to avoid the stroller at all costs and at the same time keep my eye out on the little one. Am I making sense?:rotfl:

Get one of those harness buddy backpacks. Then he can walk safely. you can then either wear the baby or put in the stroller. My DD loves to walk by herself and does great with a harness.

Congratulations!!!! :). We went when DD was 26 months and DS was 6 months. We had a ton of help from other family members. The hardest part was that DS wasn't sleeping through the night, so I was exhausted. Had we not had grandparents, an aunt, an uncle, and older cousins helping, I wouldn't have had much fun.
